Earthworms are among the most important species of the soil macrofauna. However, they are very sensitive to inorganic fertilization, more specifically to urea, which makes them a well-known bio-indicator. The objective of this study was to test if a fertilizer with inhibitors could be less destructive to earthworms than urea. In two consecutive years, we studied how new type fertilizers with urea (urea + urease inhibitor, urea + nitrification inhibitor and urea + urease inhibitor + nitrification inhibitor) can differ from urea applied alone and be closer to control (no fertilizer) in terms of the impact on earthworms, verified on different days after application. The measurements concerned earthworms’ mortality, casts and weight. Moreover, some soil properties which are affected by earthworms’ activity, such as exchangeable Ca, cation exchange capacity (CEC) and soil CO2 respiration, were studied. The inhibitors that were used comprised nitrification inhibitor, dicyandiamide (DCD), urease inhibitor, N-(n-butyl) thiophosphoric triamide (NBPT), and double inhibitors, both urease and nitrification inhibitor. The study revealed how a fertilizer with inhibitors could be less destructive to earthworms than urea. Urea with urease inhibitor and urea with urease inhibitor and nitrification inhibitor had the least negative impact on earthworms’ activities. In contrast, urea and urea with nitrification inhibitor caused higher mortality among earthworms than the other fertilizers used.

The three-dimensional (3D) coordinate measurement of radio frequency identification (RFID) multi-tag networks is one of the important issues in the field of RFID, which affects the reading performance of RFID multi-tag networks. In this paper, a novel method for 3D coordinate measurement of RFID multi-tag networks is proposed. A dual-CCD system (vertical and horizontal cameras) is used to obtain images of RFID multi-tag networks from different angles. The iterative threshold segmentation and the morphological filtering method are used to process the images. The template matching method is respectively used to determine the two-dimensional (2D) coordinate and the vertical coordinate of each tag. After that, the 3D coordinate of each tag is obtained. Finally, a back-propagation (BP) neural network is used to model the nonlinear relationship between the RFID multi-tag network and the corresponding reading distance. The BP neural network can predict the reading distances of unknown tag groups and find out the optimal distribution structure of the tag groups corresponding to the maximum reading distance. In the future work, the corresponding in-depth research on the neural network to adjust the distribution of tags will be done.

High-density GaN nanowires were successfully synthesized on Si(111) substrates through ammoniating $Ga_2O_3//Nb$ films under flowing ammonia atmosphere at 950°C. The as-synthesized GaN nanowires are characterized by X-ray diffraction, selected-area-electron diffraction, Fourier transform infrared, scanning electron microscopy, and field-emission transmission electron microscopy. The results show that the synthesized nanowires are single-crystal hexagonal wurtzite GaN with diameters ranging from 30 to 100 nm and lengths up to several microns. The photoluminescence spectra measured at room temperature only exhibit a strong and broad emission peak at 367.8 nm. Finally, the growth mechanism of GaN nanowires is discussed.

Ab initio calculations based on the density functional theory have been performed to investigate the migrations of interstitial helium (He) atoms in Au-Ag alloys with two different mass ratios (Au₃Ag₂ and AuAg). The results show that the migration mechanisms of He atoms mainly depend on the crystal structures of alloys, and their migration energy barriers are affected by the migration paths in Au-Ag alloys. He interstitials preferentially occupied the most stable sites, but it is difficult for He interstitials to migrate to nearest most stable sites via second stable positions at room temperature. When He atom is at the tetrahedral position which has higher formation energy, it possibly migrates to nearest tetrahedral positions directly for AuAg alloy. In addition, comparing the migration of He defects in the two alloys, we found that the properties of migration energy and relative stability of He atoms probably slightly depend on the mass-density of Au-Ag alloys.

Opis:
The thermal decomposition kinetics of hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane/ ammonium perchlorate (HNIW/AP) have been investigated by thermogravimetrydifferential scanning calorimetry-mass spectrometry (TG-DSC-MS) simultaneous analysis. TG showed that there were three weight loss processes for the thermal decomposition of the HNIW/AP mixture. The first was ascribed mainly to the thermal decomposition of HNIW, while the second and third were assigned to that of AP. The presence of AP has little effect on the thermal decomposition process of the HNIW component. The apparent activation energy of the thermal decomposition of the HNIW component, calculated by the Kissinger method, was little changed compared to that of neat HNIW. The addition of HNIW to AP caused the onset and end temperatures of the thermal decomposition to be decreased and the decomposition process to be shortened. The high-temperature and lowtemperature decomposition processes of AP became blurred in the presence of HNIW, and this was supported by the MS results.

The pre-concentration of electrode material of spent lithium-ion battery has great significance on the resource utilization and environmental protection. The feasibility of separation of graphite and LiCoO2 based on density difference using the enhanced gravity concentrator was verified in this paper. Combustion characteristics of LiCoO2 and graphite were used to propose a simple evaluation index of separation efficiency. Separation tests were carried out to specify the influence of operating parameters on the separation efficiency. Moreover, the effect of particle size on the separation performance was studied. Combustion characteristics results showed that mass loss of graphite was much greater than that of LiCoO2. Thus, mass loss were used to evaluate the purity of product. Effective separation of graphite and LiCoO2 was achieved by the enhanced centrifugal separator. Separation results showed that increasing centrifugal force decreased the overflow yield and increased the graphite content of the overflow stream. In addition, yield of overflow grew an increase in fluidization water pressure, while the purity of graphite in overflow decreased. The effect of particle size on the separation efficiency was also significant, the separation efficiency decreased with the decreasing of particle size.

A new edrioblastoid Cambroblastus guolensis is described from the Furongian (late Cambrian) Sandu Formation (South China). This represents the second occurrence of a Cambrian edrioblastoid, and the first ever reported from Asia, extending the palaeogeographic range of this very rare echinoderm grade. Surprisingly it preserves a complete stem and a distal holdfast suggesting edrioblastoids were hard substrate attachers living in soft bottom quiet environments.

Opis:
The two-dimensional compressor flow simulation approach has always been a very valuable tool in compressor preliminary design studies, as well as performance predictions. In this context, a general development of the streamline curvature (SLC) method is elucidated firstly. Then a numerical method based on SLC is developed to simulate the internal flow of the compressor according to the development analysis and conclusion. Two certain transonic axial compressors are calculated by this 2D method. The speed lines and span-wise aerodynamic parameters are compared with the experiment data in order to demonstrate the method presented in this paper.

Opis:
Flotation and enhanced gravity separation based on different separation principles were carried out to investigate the desulphurization and deashing efficiency of fine oxidized coal. Surface properties of fresh and oxidized coals were tested by XPS and results showed that the contents of hydrophobic functional groups decreased while the content of hydrophilic functional groups increased after oxidization. Floatability and density analysis results showed that the floatability of coal samples decreased sharply because of oxidation, however, density composition of coal sample only had slight changes. Separation results showed that yields of gravity concentrates outclassed that of flotation concentrates, meanwhile, ash contents and sulfur contents of gravity concentrates were far lower than that of flotation concentrates. Yields and ash contents increased with the collector dosage and achieved to be 17.83 and 26.94% respectively when the collector dosage was 1600 g•Mg-1. Yields and ash contents of gravity concentrates decreased with the centrifugal force and increased with the recoil water flow with similar sulfur content. Clean coal with yield of 53.86%, ash content of 9.81%, sulfur content of 1.47% and with a corresponding desulphurization efficiency of 44.53% was achieved at centrifugal force of 107 g and recoil water flow of 13.3 dm3•min-1. For fine oxidized coal, enhanced gravity separation has a significant advantage of the separation efficiency compared with flotation.

A high-intensity pulsed ion beam (HIPIB) technique is applied to heat flux testing of plasma facing materials for fusion experiment. The HIPIB is generated at a relatively stable power density up to $10^{8}$ W/$cm^{2}$, which covers a heat flux parameter of up to several hundreds MW $m^{-2} s^{1//2}$. Surface morphology and weight loss are examined for doped and coated graphite with HIPIB exposure of 280 MW $m^{-2} s^{1//2}$, being of the same order of thermal loads during off-normal events in future fusion reactors. The work demonstrates a first example utilizing the HIPIB technique to study thermal response of plasma facing materials under fusion relevant thermal loads.

The cumulant method is applied to study elliptic flow (v2) in Au+Au collisions at s = 200 AGeV, with the UrQMD model. We find that the four and six-particle cumulants are good measures of the real elliptic flow over a wide range of centralities except for the most central and very peripheral events. There the cumulant method is affected by the v2 fluctuations. In mid-central collisions, the four and six-particle cumulants are shown to give a good estimation of the true differential v2, especially at large transverse momentum, where the two-particle cumulant method is heavily affected by the non-flow effects.

Opis:
Enhanced gravity concentrator have excellent separation accuracy for the fine mineral particles. However, its internal flow characteristics are still in unclear. Therefore, numerical simulation was conducted to study the flow characteristics of concentrator. Effect of centrifugal force and fluidization water pressure on the velocity component of fluid was studied. The simulation accuracy was verified by the theoretical calculation. The turbulence intensity in the radial direction was analyzed to reveal the gradient characteristics. Results show that the three-dimensional velocity has different order of magnitude. The increase of centrifugal force significantly improves the three-dimensional velocity of fluid. However, the fluidization water pressure has little influence on the tangential velocity and axial velocity, but it can effectively improve the radial velocity. High turbulent flow energy and high turbulence dissipation rate are presented in the near wall region, which allows the light particles reentering the separation region. Meanwhile, the fluid presents stable flow pattern in the fall wall region that is conducive to the stratification process. In addition, the increase of centrifugal force increases the turbulence in the near wall region; however, fluidization pressure has no effect.
