A 2-packing of a hypergraph is a permutation σ on V() such that if an edge e belongs to (), then σ (e) does not belong to ().
We prove that a hypergraph which does not contain neither empty edge ∅ nor complete edge V() and has at most 1/2n edges is 2-packable.
A 1-uniform hypergraph of order n with more than 1/2n edges shows that this result cannot be improved by increasing the size of .

The article discusses relations between Thomas Mann’s Joseph and his brothers and Hegelian conception of history and time. These two names are rather rarely linked together; in spite of Susan von Rohr Scaff’s works, the issue remains unexplored. I point out the similarities between Mann’s and Hegel’s understanding of eternity, the end of history and Absolute. Comparising their writings, I also refer to their cultural and historical background, suggesting that their common experience of modernity affects the tendency to synthesis that joins them.

Opis:
Pulmonary embolism is a condition in cardiology, constituting direct threat to life, often difficult diagnostically, with an unpredictable process. It is characterized by wide spectrum of symptoms, from slightly flagged fatigue, cough, discreet pain in the chest in a poorly symptomatic form of no massive disease, to severe dyspnoe, symptoms of shock, through to a sudden stop of blood circulation. In the article, two cases are presented of patients who were admitted to the Otolaryngology Department because of vertigo accompanied by nystagmus as the only symptoms of systemic disorders. During hospitalization the D-dimer level was significantly in excess of the accepted norm, which directed a further course of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The authors have paid attention to the very differentiated disease etiology and the most common risk factors. They described the subsequent stages of the diagnostic process from otoneurological, audiological to internal and radiological examinations. They presented recommended methods of treatment and have stressed the necessity of long-term and meticulous follow-up in order to prevent recurrence of the disease.
Zatorowość płucna jest stanem kardiologicznym, stanowiącym bezpośrednie zagrożenie życia, często trudnym diagnostycznie, o nieprzewidywalnym przebiegu. Charakteryzuje się szerokim panelem objawów – od słabo zaznaczonej męczliwości, kaszlu, dyskretnych dolegliwości bólowych w klatce piersiowej w ubogosymptomatycznej postaci choroby, po nasiloną duszność, objawy wstrząsu, aż do nagłego zatrzymania krążenia. W pracy przedstawiono dwa przypadki pacjentek przyjętych do Kliniki Laryngologii w trybie nagłym z powodu zawrotów głowy z towarzyszącym oczopląsem jako jedynym objawem zaburzeń ogólnoustrojowych. W trakcie hospitalizacji stwierdzono znacznie przekraczający przyjętą normę poziom D-dimerów, co ukierunkowało dalszy tok postępowania diagnostycznego i terapeutycznego. Autorzy pracy zwrócili też uwagę na bardzo zróżnicowaną etiologię choroby i najczęstsze czynniki ryzyka. Opisali kolejne etapy procesu diagnostycznego od oceny laryngologicznej, otoneurologicznej i audiologicznej po badania internistyczne i obrazowe. Przedstawili zalecane metody postępowania leczniczego. Podkreślili konieczność prowadzenia w celu zapobiegania nawrotom choroby, długotrwałej i skrupulatnej katamnezy.

The focus of the study is the relation between the representation of the „Adoration of the Magi” from the Triptych from Szamotuły (housed at the Archdiocesan Museum in Poznań) to a wood engraving by Hans Süss von Kulmbach. The author shows the differences and similarities between the predella from Szamotuły and the wood engraving. She also argues that the workshop of the Triptych from Szamotuły was a prototype for other works such as the triptych from Szamotuły (1521), the painting „St. Anne with the Virgin and the Child and with St. Andrew and St. Jerome” (ca. 1521), the triptych from Mądre (1529), the painting of Our Lady from Gostyń (1540), the painting of Our Lady from Krobia (1542)).

Badania dotyczące zależności między zaangażowaniem religijnym a zdrowiem pokazują, że religijność może być źródłem wielu korzyści dla jednostki. Na pierwszym miejscu należy wymienić rolę zasobów religijnych w radzeniu sobie ze stresem. Korzyści te mogą mieć realne przełożenie na stan zdrowia, zarówno psychicznego, jak i somatycznego, szczególnie w starszym wieku. W przypadku zdrowia fizycznego wśród mechanizmów wyjaśniających obserwowaną zależność przytacza się nie tylko rolę religii w zmaganiu się z sytuacjami stresowymi, ale wskazuje się również na wpływ norm religijnych na styl życia czy stosunek do własnego ciała. W prezentowanej pracy autorki pokazują część badań przeprowadzonych w ramach projektu dotyczącego wpływu zaangażowania religijnego na zdrowie. Grupą badaną były osoby starsze, deklarujące wyznanie rzymskokatolickie, o różnym poziomie zaangażowania religijnego. Zarówno religijność, jak i zdrowie rozumiane były wielowymiarowo i ocenione kompleksowo na podstawie obszernego kwestionariusza ankiety. Wyniki analiz statystycznych wskazują na związek między niektórymi wymiarami religijności a ogólną percepcją zdrowia i samooceną funkcjonowania fizycznego. Jeśli w pewnych przypadkach to stan zdrowia wpływał na religijność (np. na częstotliwość praktyk wspólnotowych), a nie na odwrót, to w innych kierunek zależności nie jest tak oczywisty i wskazuje na możliwość zinterpretowania zaobserwowanych związków w kategoriach mechanizmów zależności szczegółowo opisanych we wstępie do artykułu.
According to the research on the relationship between religiousness and health, religious involvement may have beneficial influence on individuals’ well-being, first of all serving as a potential source of religious coping responses. Due to their role in dealing with acute and day-to-day stressors religious resources can have a real impact on as well as physical health in older age. When it comes to physical health/functioning not only religious coping but also the role of religious norms in shaping healthy lifestyles and body practices is indicated as a potential mechanism of influence. This paper presents selected results of the research on the relationship between the level of religiousness and health/quality of life in older age. The sample population consisted of 367 randomly selected Roman Catholics aged 65 and over displaying various levels of religious involvement. Both religiousness and health were conceptualized as complex, multidimensional variables. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire. In the statistical analyses Hierarchical Cluster Analysis and regression analysis were performed. Significant relationship were observed between some of the analyzed dimensions of religiousness and general health perception as well as physical functioning of older respondents. While in some of the observed cases health status influenced the level of religious involvement (eg. the frequency of public religious practices) and not vice versa, in the other cases the direction of the relationship is not as clear and can be explained in the light of the theories and mechanisms described in detail in the introduction to the presented paper.

A graph $G$ of order $n$ is called arbitrarily partitionable (AP for short) if, for every sequence $(n_1, . . ., n_k)$ of positive integers with $n_1 + ⋯ + n_k = n$, there exists a partition $(V_1, . . ., V_k)$ of the vertex set $V(G)$ such that $V_i$ induces a connected subgraph of order $n_i$ for $i = 1, . . ., k$. In this paper we show that every connected graph $G$ of order $n \ge 22$ and with \( ‖G‖ > \binom{n-4}{2} + 12 \) edges is AP or belongs to few classes of exceptional graphs.

The article deals with the criticism that Evald Ilyenkov directed at the suggestion madeby Adam Schaff in Marksizm a jednostka ludzka (Marxism vs. an individual). The SovietMarxist accuses Schaff of being an elitist and criticizes his perception of changes in moraldevelopment of the authority. Instead, Ilyenkov proposes that alienation in socialist countriesshould be seen as a phenomenon tied to the relic of private property that can be overcomeonly by actual socialization of possession. According to Ilyenkov, Schaff’s diagnosis of thesituation and solutions proposed by him stem from the lack of understanding of the Marxistperception of a human being. Schaff’s abstract humanism presented by Ilyenkov appears tobe a result of the Polish philosopher’s affair with neo-positivism leading to the acceptance of aindividual’s dominance over the entirety of social relationships and understanding the humanas a collection of certain features common to every individual. In the article, said criticismwas connected with Ilyenkov’s philosophy of what is concrete. Ilyenkov’s polemic withexistentialist and neo-positivist tendencies in soviet philosophy of that time was providedas background necessary for understanding the topic discussed. The aim of the paper was to present the possibility of applying the novel method (RP-HPLC ion pair method) for the simultaneous dissolution determination of combined tablet dosage form containing acetylsalicylic acid and glycine in pharmaceutical industry. The samples were gradient eluted using a Pursuit XS Ultra C18 column (150x3.0 mm, with a particle size of 2.8µm) with variable composition of mobile phase A (1-heptanesulfonic acid sodium salt aqueous solution (2.8 g/L), pH 2.2 ± 0.05 adjusted with orthophosphoric acid) and phase B (methanol). The detection was carried out at 210 nm with a consist flow rate of 0.4 mL min−1. The method was validated by determining precision (repeatability and intermediate precision), accuracy, specificity, linearity, range, system suitability, robustness and stability in accordance with ICH guidelines. The method was accurate, precise and linear within the range of 0.03 – 0.18 mg mL−1 for acetylsalicylic acid and 0.016 – 0.096 mg mL−1 for glycine. The method is simple, convenient and suitable for analyzing acetylsalicylic acid and glycine in pharmaceutical formulations. The method could also be used for routine assay determination after small modification of sample preparation.

One of the most puzzling categories in The Unknowable by Semyon Frank is созерцание - a word close to German Anschauung and sometimes used as its translation. The aim of this article is to analyze the meaning of the category of созерцание in Frank’s book and to indicate some of its philosophical sources. First, I discuss the role the term Anschauung plays in the works of Kant and Goethe. The selection of these two authors allows, in my opinion, to describe both Frank's rooting in classical philosophy and the distinction of his approach. One can distinguish two different cognitive acts which are denoted by the word созерцание in Frank’s work: an immediate, non-discursive and synthetic cognition of objective being as well as the cognition of the unconditional being through experience that overcomes the subject- object relation. I argue that the importance of the synthetic and non-discursive intuitive cognition can be interpreted as Goethe's legacy in The Unknowable. Although Frank's usage of the term созерцание is rather far from Kant’s (which is evident in his neglect of the distinction receptive/spontaneous, fundamental in The Critique of Pure Reason), the problem Frank attempts to deal with, i. e. the possibility of the unconditioned cognition of being was important for the post-Kantian philosophers (Fichte among others) which makes Kant and the German Idealism a crucial context to understand it.
