    An excessively high level of information asymmetry between the supplier and the client occurring during the whole life cycle of an MIS is an important factor influencing the success of a project. The methods chosen to minimise information asymmetry in IT projects constitute an important research area which can impact their successful outcome. The aim of this article is to present research results on the use of Agile Methodology as a tool for minimising information asymmetry as part of an IT project completion consisting in a DMS system implementation with the use of outsourcing. The article may be interesting both for theoreticians of business informatics and for practitioners specializing in IT project implementation.

    The research results presented here refer to the issues linked to the role of information technologies in enterprise value building models that can be found in the current economic structure. The scope of this article is to present an analysis of the data collected in an annual research cycle and the resulting conclusions, describing management support IT projects in three groups of enterprises, representing three models of enterprise value analysis, i.e. the value chain, the value shop and the value network. The essence of the research is to present a distribution of management support IT systems, the size of the projects, chosen application implementation strategies and the method of IT project investment economic evaluation in specific enterprise groups.

    The IT system market belongs to the group of markets characterised by imperfections in information access both amongst the suppliers and the recipients. Literature studies indicate a research gap concerning the phenomenon of information asymmetry between the supplier and the recipient in an IT project. My research thus far has indicated that an excessively high level of information asymmetry between the supplier and the recipient, occurring during the entire life cycle of a management support IT system, is an important factor, which has a key significance to the success of the project. The scope of this article is to present the results of research on the phenomenon of asymmetry in information access both amongst suppliers and recipients as part of a conducted case study.

    Wdrażanie systemów informatycznych wspierających zarządzanie z wykorzystaniem outsourcingu jest najbardziej popularnym sposobem realizacji projektów w Polsce. Nadal wiele projektów informatycznych kończy się porażką. Celem niniejszych badań jest próba analizy projektu informatycznego z wykorzystaniem współczesnych teorii działania przedsiębiorstwa uzupełniających neoklasyczną wizję funkcjonowania przedsiębiorstwa. W ramach badań autor wykorzystuje nową ekonomię instytucjonalną, a w szczególności teorię agencji, teorię kontraktualną oraz teorię kosztów transakcyjnych. Opiera się na metodzie studiów przypadków, które przedstawiają wdrożenie systemów informatycznych klasy ERP, BI, CRM. Rezultaty badań mogą być interesujące dla teoretyków informatyki gospodarczej, jak również dla praktyków organizujących przedsięwzięcia informatyczne w przedsiębiorstwach i w agendach rządowych.
    Implementing management information systems based on outsourcing is by far the most popular method of completing this type of projects in Poland. Many projects, however, still end in failure. This study aims to analyse IT projects using contemporary enterprise theories, which significantly contribute to the neoclassical vision of enterprise functioning. As part of his research, the author uses the new institutional economics, in particular the agency theory, the contractual theory and the theory of transaction costs. The author used the case studies method, presenting ERP, BI and CRM system implementations. Research results may be interesting for theorists of business informatics, as well as practitioners implementing IT projects, both in enterprises and government agencies.
