The influence of technological parameters on the transformation of 1-butene-3-ol (1B3O) to bis(3-methyl- 1-propene) ether (2x1B3O ether) and 3-(3-methyl-1-propene)-3-methyl-1,2-epoxypropane ether (1B3Ox1,2EB3O ether) over the TS-2 catalyst was presented. The reaction was performed in a glass reactor at atmospheric pressure and in methanol medium (protic solvent). The optimum conditions of 2x1B3O ether and 1B3Ox1,2EB3O ether obtaining were established by the mathematical method of experiments design (rotatable-uniform design) and after the analyses of the layer drawings.

In this paper we review the properties of n-type doped ZnSe and CdTe epilayers grown by molecular beam epitaxy on (100) GaAs substrates. Recent results of photoluminescence, transport measurements, secondary ion mass spectroscopy and deep-level transient spectroscopy are discussed. A major emphasis is placed on the effect of different dopant species and the role of the deviation from stoichiometry on the doped epitaxial layers. Since deep defect states play an important role in determining the properties of the doped materials, considerable attention is directed towards characterization and identification of deep-lying defect states, both native and introduced by dopants. In particular, in the case of ZnSe the deep-level transient spectroscopy results clarify why Cl is superior to Ga as an effective n-type dopant. They provide strong evidence that chlorine - unlike Ga - does not introduce by itself any detectable deep defects into the ZnSe lattice. In the case of CdTe, we focus on the influence of the deviation from stoichiometric growth conditions in the molecular beam epitaxy process and on the properties of In doped layers. We discuss resistivity, Mn diffusivity and the presence of various deep defects in layers grown at different Cd/Te flux ratios.

Jednym z najważniejszych zadań współczesnej szkoły jest odpowiednie wychowanie i przygotowanie uczniów do życia we współczesnym świecie. Obowiązek realizacji tego zadania spoczywa na każdym nauczycielu, ale niewątpliwie istotną rolę odgrywa nauczyciel geografii czy przyrody, który naucza o własnej ojczyźnie. W artykule dokonano zestawienia celów edukacyjnych dotyczących aspektów wychowawczych zapisanych w Podstawie programowej kształcenia ogólnego. Zwrócono uwagę na edukację patriotyczną. Określono rolę nauczyciela geografii w realizacji treści wychowawczych.
Providing good education and preparing students for living in the contemporary world is one of the most important tasks of the contemporary school. This obligation rests on every teacher but the teachers of geography or nature who teach topics about their own homeland undoubtedly have a special role to play. The paper provides a summary of educational goals concerning the educational and formation attitudes which are contained in the core curriculum for general education, with a special emphasis on patriotic education. In addition to that, the role of the teacher in the attainment of the teaching content has been defined.

The analysis of the composition of the Tawny Owl pellets collected at a study site (Stary Chinów, 51o37’N, 21o28’E) in the northern part of the Kozienice Forest in 2019-2021 documented 18 species of small mammals. They represented three orders: Soricomorpha (4), Chiroptera (3), and Rodentia (11). The community of small mammals in the study area was relatively rich. The most frequently noted species were: Sorex araneus, Clethrionomys glareolus, Microtus agrestis and Apodemus flavicollis. The populations of rodents of the family Gliridae (Muscardinus avellanarius, Glis glis) and Microtus agrestis living on the study site are relatively abundant as compared to other areas of central Poland.

Celem opracowania jest próba określenia problemów i trudności w nauczaniu geografii Polski jakie napotykają nauczyciele geografii gimnazjów województwa świętokrzyskiego. Aby poznać wyżej wymienione problemy i trudności, przeprowadzono badania sondażowe. Wykorzystano w tym celu: ankietę (10 pytań) i kwerendę literatury. Nauczyciele w większości uważają, że nie mają problemów z nauczaniem geografii Polski. Jednak około 40% badanych twierdzi, że ich trudności związane są m.in. z niewystarczającym przygotowaniem absolwentów szkoły podstawowej do nauczania-uczenia się geografii na poziomie gimnazjum, małą liczbą godzin w cyklu kształcenia, brakiem własnych umiejętności selekcji materiału, określenia treści najważniejszych i mniej istotnych, brakiem danych statystycznych związanych z realizacją zagadnień społeczno-gospodarczych (respondenci nie mają aktualizacji w podręcznikach szkolnych). W procesie nauczania geografii Polski największy odsetek nauczycieli skupia swoją uwagę głównie na geografii fizycznej, a nieliczni na geografii ekonomicznej. Na pytanie, które zagadnienia z geografii Polski najsilniej wiążą się z wychowaniem patriotycznym, nauczyciele wskazywali działy programowe: mój region, krainy geograficzne, miejsce Polski w Europie, podział administracyjny, położenie Polski, Polska na mapie politycznej Europy, tradycje kulturowe, miejsca historyczne. Do nauczania geografii nauczyciele wykorzystują głównie podręcznik. Treści dotyczące geografii Polski zawarte na mapach wykorzystywane są w małym stopniu. Według respondentów, największe trudności sprawiają uczniom zagadnienia związane z budową geologiczną Polski, zmianami gospodarczymi w Polsce po 1989 roku, zagadnieniami ludnościowymi, treściami związanymi z Unią Europejską. Nauczyciele geografii wprowadziliby wiele zmian w nauczaniu geografii Polski, a przede wszystkim: zwiększenie liczby godzin geografii w gimnazjum, zmniejszenie ilości treści geografii społeczno-ekonomicznej na rzecz geografii fizycznej, zwiększenie liczby zagadnień dotyczących własnego regionu, zmniejszenie ilości treści w Podstawie programowej, wprowadzenie map topograficznych do nauczania geografii Polski. Padły również propozycje wydzielenia w Podstawie programowej treści wyłącznie dotyczących geografii Polski. Badani respondenci zapytani o własne sposoby nauczania geografii Polski wskazywali na: wykorzystanie prezentacji medialnych dołączonych do podręczników, właściwe i pełne wykorzystanie podręcznika, nauczanie od zagadnień regionalnych do ogólnych treści geograficznych, własną pracę uczniów dotyczącą opracowania materiałów, wykorzystanie nowoczesnych metod nauczania, zajęcia w terenie.
Teaching the geography of Poland is a necessary component of geographical education at every stage. The article presents the results of studies examining the problems and difficulties connected with teaching the geography of Poland that geography teachers encounter, mainly in selected lower secondary schools of the Świętokrzyskie region.

In this paper we review the results of our effort to grow layers and low-dimensional structures containing Cd$\text{}_{1-x}$Μn$\text{}_{x}$Te diluted magnetic semiconductor with relatively high values of Mn molar fraction x. A high quality of the structures grown so far is demonstrated by making use of results of several selected experiments. In the case of the epilayers having bulk-like thickness with x ≥ 0.7 we discuss, in particular, the magnetic phase diagram as well as we report on collective spin excitation (magnons) observed in Raman scattering experiments. The discussion of the growth of different quantum wells, including rectangular, digital, parabolic and wedge quantum wells, is accompanied by a brief overview of their optical and magnetooptical properties. These results include first measurements concerning magnetic polarons in quantum wells embedded in Cd$\text{}_{1-x}$Mn$\text{}_{x}$Te barriers with 0.4 ≤ x ≤ 0.8. Finally, we report on the present status of the search for dimensional effects in the spin-glass phase performed with the use of our specially designed superlattice structures.

W artykule przedstawiono interaktywny system Tepson umożliwiający multimodalną komunikację z człowiekiem. Zbudowany prototyp stanowi platformę sprzętową i programową, która ma umożliwić testowanie oprogramowania pochodzącego od różnych producentów, zwłaszcza takiego, które może być wykorzystane do budowy robota społecznego.
We have designed and built the prototype of a social robot called Tepson. Robot contains a stable base with one movable head, computer controller and multimodal communication means: display, speakers, keyboard, microphones, camera and interfaces to EIB/KNX, CAN, VoIP, openRTM. System provides a universal framework to test software coming from different vendors. Tepson can realize some standard and user defined scenarios like: person detection, face recognition and registration, providing general dialog and specific information, message box, and light control.

We studied epitaxial growth conditions of II-VI semiconductors on (110) substrates, which is indispensable for fabrication of T-shaped quantum wire structures. We experimented with different types of (110)-oriented substrates and monitored the surface quality of deposited layers in situ by reflection high energy electron diffraction and ex situ by photoluminescence. The aim of this work is to find optimum growth conditions of II-VI compounds on a cleaved edge of a superlattice as required by the overgrowth method.

Opis:
We attempted to produce and to investigate T-shaped wire structures of II-VI compounds. Our samples were grown on GaAs hybrid substrates in a two-stage growth process. The photoluminescence measurements resulted into two different possible polarization behaviors of recorder signal. We interpret one of these behaviors as due to quantum wire formation.

In this paper we review results of studies of two types of spatially graded quantum well structures containing various layers of diluted magnetic semiconductors Cd$\text{}_{1-x}$Mn$\text{}_{x}$Te or Cd$\text{}_{1-x-y}$Mn$\text{}_{x}$Mg$\text{}_{y}$Te. The design of the structures has been recently proposed by us and suitable samples have been grown by a modified molecular beam epitaxy method. In the structures of the first type a digital profiling of the composition of the constituent material in the growth direction allowed to produce quantum wells with a specifically required shape of the confining potential (including parabolic, half-parabolic, triangular, and trapezoidal). Such samples were used for (i) determination of the conduction and valence band offsets in MnTe/CdTe and MgTe/CdTe systems, (ii) for the demonstration of an enhanced exciton binding in a parabolic confining potential as well as for (iii) demonstration of the possibility of "spin-splitting engineering" in diluted magnetic semiconductors quantum structures. In the second type of the structures, a precise in-plane profiling of either quantum well width or the barrier width or n-type doping intensity was realized. These structures were subsequently used for studies of the evolution of optical spectra with an increase in the concentration of confined two-dimensional gas of conduction electrons.

Opis:
Stimulated emission by optical excitation has been investigated in CdZnTe/CdMnTe quantum well heterostructures. Laser action has been achieved at 4.2 K and at 77 K with relatively low threshold values of the excitation intensity. Photοluminescence excitation spectra of the stimulated emission were obtained indicating that the optical gain involves exciton-exciton inelastic scattering.

Current-voltage (I-V) and capacitance-voltage (C-V) characteristics of photovoltaic, thinfilm p-ZnTe/n-CdTe heterojunctions have been studied in the temperature range of 280-400 K. The p-n junctions were grown by MBE on (100) semi-insulating GaAs substrates. From the analysis of I-V and C-V curves the potential barrier height of the junctions and its temperature dependence are determined. The relatively large value of the temperature coefficient of the potential barrier height (2.5-3.0 × $10^{-3}$ eV/K) indicates a high density of defects at the p-ZnTe/n-CdTe interface. The presence of interface defects limits the efficiency of the solar energy conversion of these devices.

We present an attempt to control the properties of CdTe/ZnTe self-assembled quantum dots during their formation in the process of molecular beam epitaxy. Namely, the structures were in situ annealed at various temperatures and annealing times after the formation of quantum dots, before the deposition of a capping layer. Depending on the annealing parameters, the dots exhibit different optical properties which were studied by means of spatially resolved photoluminescence. From the analysis of these results, the information about relative changes of the average size and sheet density of quantum dots was extracted.
