Opis:
This descriptive research focuses on the role of land surveying in the development of an architectural plan through the detailed engineering planning that leads to the construction phase. It comprises a leveling network that was established and all the points had been described completely. Parameters such as horizontal distance, horizontal angles and elevation differences between all points were measured through many closed leveling loops using theodolite (Leica Builder 300), tape measure & wheels (steel tape) and stave (leveling rod). The observations were used in a mathematical model and processed by traverse adjustment techniques. The error of closure for interior angles was checked and both latitude and departure were adjusted before applying the double meridian distance (DMD) method to obtain the required area of the land. The adjusted unknowns and observations were computed precisely to about a few millimeters accuracy. Technical descriptions of the land such as distance, bearing, boundaries, and area are necessary to visualize the shape & exact location of the land.

This paper discusses a list of information and issues that causes of structural failure in the foundations and footings of a building. When a load is gradually applied on a foundation, settlement occurs which is almost elastic to begin with. At the ultimate load, general shear failure occurs when a plastic yield surface develops under the footing, extending outward and upward to the ground surface, and catastrophic settlement or rotation of the foundation occurs. Foundation failure is caused by multiple reasons such as poor soil preparation, water problems, dry heat, large trees and plumbing issues Foundation failure is where the foundation settles below level of original construction to a point where damages has occurred such as veneer cracking, interior sheetrock cracking, separations in the veneer and misaligning doors to name a few common symptoms

Opis:
Nowadays, much of the crimes committed were unreported to the authorities. Given this fact, the study presents the development of a Crime Management and Reporting System through online and even offline and at the same time is the active participation of the citizens. The idea draws its motivation from the inconvenience of going to the police station and personal belief of the weak investigative capabilities of the authorities to resolve petty crimes and limited spreading of crime information to the community. The project specifically looks into the crime detection and prevention. This study aims to provide an overview of the investigative process and, in doing so, identify effective and efficient approaches to the investigation and detection of the volume of crimes. The review is particularly aimed to highlight the research evidence those investigative practices and actions that are likely to lead to a positive outcome. The development of software includes the process of brainstorming and planning, requirements analysis, system analysis and designs, implementation and testing, deployment, and maintenance. The criteria of evaluation of software quality were adapted in ISO/IEC 25010:20011. This also shows that distance is also a factor that influences greatly how crimes are being handled with many crimes going unreported as a result. Crime Management and Reporting System would really help the complainant and the authority to communicate privately and easily with regards to the reported issue. In addition, it would be easier for the complainant to report a witnessed crime without the fear of getting involved in the problems because of the security that the only authorized user can see the report. Based on the findings, the researchers recommend the following for further study: widening the limit of the system by considering other cities; a generic platform for keeping human records from birth till death, deploying this sort of platform will serve as a source of information on persons from various states within the country and even those outside. Verification using Biometric is highly recommended to enhance the security of data stored in the system. This increases the restriction on access to the system, thus unauthorized users have no access to the system. Face recognition technology can be added.

This study addresses the use of non-motorized transportation. The global benefits of the bike paths, bike lanes, and other types of bicycle-specific infrastructure consist of a reduction in traffic congestion and a decrease in emissions of greenhouse gasses and other pollutants that commuters face today. Additional indirect benefits, of no less value, demonstrate the benefits and viability of bicycles and non-motorized transport. These findings suggest that lack of pollutions and low cost of this form of transport for commuting will encourage the adoption and development of similar facilities elsewhere around the world.

Floods have large environmental consequences for communities and individuals. As most people are aware, the immediate impacts of flooding include loss of human life, damage to property, destruction of plants and trees, and deterioration of health conditions owing to waterborne diseases. For decades, Manila City has been battling with flood risk. The area has been inundated with flood waters several times, whether it is due to tropical weather, strong rain fall events, or rising waters. This has resulted in millions of pesos in damages, and in some instances, the same home has been affected multiple times. Given the age of the existing Quiapo pump station even with current upgrades and the potential development of other areas within the catchment area, there is a need to identify, review, and recommend some alternatives solution for the future of the Quiapo pump station. The researcher is thus undertaking this study to review alternatives for upgrades or replacement of the existing Quiapo pump station. It aims also to describe the common plants and trees damaged by typhoons and floods, animals affected by devastating floods, common diseases during floods, effectiveness of existing pumping stations and advantages of the new pumping station, the effects of high floods on trees, animals and human health, and the impact of some alternatives solutions of the Quiapo pump station on natural environment to prevent and protect the adverse impact of flood events on human health and safety, on valuable goods and property, and on the aquatic and terrestrial environment.

Opis:
Flooding is a natural event that replenishes the groundwater and revitalizes the soil through the deposit of sediments. However, when communities settle within floodplains, flooding can cause adverse social, economic and environmental impacts. Flood protection works, such as dikes, can further reduce flood risk. These structures particularly relevant in protecting historic communities that were settled before floodplain management policies were implemented. However, it is technically and economically impossible to completely eliminate flood risk with dikes. During severe floods, dike failures may occur due to erosion, overtopping or seepage. This study predicts that dike construction may lead to water level lowering for in-bank flows and to water level increases for out-of-bank (flood) flows. This confirms that, in principle, the existing Pampanga dike and specifically on the construction of Taguig City dike along the Laguna Lake may have contributed to the observed flood water level trends in the Metro Manila.

Several momentous and significant events happening all over the world make this paradigm change in the method of teaching in the Asian countries. The first is globalization. High technology has shrunk the world so drastically that professionals have to complete with others internationally. This simply means that if Engineering students do not learn effectively, the graduates will hardly stand a chance in the global competition. This research presents information on the status of accreditation and evaluation of engineering programs in different countries around the world. The focus will be on United States ABET criteria 2016, the Canadian Council of Professional Engineering criteria and the FEANI standards for European institutions Accreditation policies and procedures of other countries are also described briefly in the research. Information on mutual recognition agreements and the cross border recognition of engineering education will also be emphasized.

Information Technology thus plays a key role in the development of the autonomous learner extends to operators as well as to programmers, which are users of components such as software libraries. The standard provides a framework for organizations to define a quality model for a software product. In doing so, however, it leaves up to each organization the task of specifying precisely its own model. This may be done, for example, by specifying target values for quality metrics which evaluates the degree of presence of quality attributes.

Many structural engineers claim that work experience plays a distinctive role in how well engineers drive their productivity. Compensation or salary also plays a distinctive role in how well engineers perform, based on the quantity of project worked delivered rather than on the time spent on the job, and is particularly beneficial for increasing engineer productivity. The main purpose of this study is to determine the influence of structural engineers' compensation, work experience and project worked on career success. This study also aims to (i) determine the type and number of work experience that a structural engineer has; (ii) ability to have knowledge on the structural project worked by a structural engineer; (iii) identify the type of workplace responsibility on the structural project (iv) understand the scope and the construction technology applies on the structural project; (v) determine the different type of projects worked by a structural engineer by groupings; (vi) establish a relationship between structural worked and compensation from work experience on career success of a structural engineer. The findings of the study revealed that structural engineers' work experiences in design management, managing construction, and teaching structural design are significantly influenced by structural engineer's compensation whereas, structural engineer's compensation does not have significant influence on structural engineers' structural project worked.
