Opis:
Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) are expected to introduce numerous benefits for future mobility. These potential benefits and many others vary substantially by the market share of AVs. Therefore, this research empirically estimates, using the Gompertz function, the projected growth rates of passenger vehicles in Hungary using historical patterns of human-driven vehicle ownership data based on projected per capita GDP. This study’s contribution to the literature is through a mathematical approach that predicts passenger cars market penetration rate, in which the assumptions and the used parameters of the model can be easily modified based on different case studies, or they can be updated due to the advancement in technology and progress in knowledge of the studied market.

Opis:
Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) are anticipated to bring forth a multitude of advantages for upcoming mobility. These potential benefits and many others vary substantially by the market share of AVs. There are several articles that investigated AV market share with a variety of methods, however, they show a huge variation depending on the market specifications. The aim of this research is to calculate private AV adoption rates over time depending on the Hungarian automobile market characteristics. The re-search empirically estimates, using the Gompertz function, the projected growth rates of private auton-omous passenger vehicles in Hungary using historical patterns of human-driven vehicle ownership data on the basis of projected per capita GDP.The study's findings suggest that, in an optimistic and moder-ate scenario, the Hungarian car market is projected to become saturated due to AVs by 2067 and 2076, respectively. However, a pessimistic estimation indicates that saturation is unlikely to occur before 2100. This study’s contribution to the literature is through a mathematical approach that predicts AVs market penetration rate and saturation year, in which the assumptions and the used parameters of the model can be modified depending on different case studies, or they can be updated due to the advancement in technology and improvement in knowledge of the studied market.

Safety is a key and necessary condition for the sustainable development of the railway industry. Every entity operating in the railway area should maintain and increase the level of security as part of its operations. The subject of the analysis of data on the rail transport safety in European countries and content of the safety culture program implemented in Poland, whose main objective is to implement safety culture principles in the railway transport and to encourage all companies operating in the railway industry to improve the rail transport safety as the key condition for the sustainable development of railway industry. Paper contains results of the analysis of the European rail transport safety level in the context of the objectives set for Poland indicated by the European Union (CSI value) as improvement areas.

Opis:
Road safety has an extremely important role in existing transportation systems. Drivers on the road are influenced by various factors (light and temperature conditions, visual smog, environment surrounding, etc.) and driver´s distraction represents the most common cause of road traffic accidents. According our previous researches, we found that visual smog has a negative influence on drivers on the road. However, the task of placing the traffic signs on the roads is to increase road safety, thus positively influencing the driver while driving. The main objective of this article is to measure the visibility of traffic signs on selected roads in specific light conditions (in night). Secondary objective is to measure visibility of roadside advertisement (billboards) near roads that are influencing driver´s distractions in negative way. The mobile ETG technology (eye tracking glasses) has been used as a method for measuring the gaze of the driver’s eyes on traffic signs in night conditions. We compared the results from our previous research (daylight conditions) with the obtained results from the current research. On the basis of the comparison of both measurements we can find out differences (positive and negative) in influence of traffic signs and road side advertisements on drivers in various light conditions.
