Opis:
The purpose of the paper was to determine the impact of the most popular form of recreation and tourism (i.e. walking) on the environment in selected forests that were made available by the means of educational trails. The research was carried out in south−eastern Poland, in the forest reserves Bór (RB) and Polanki (RP) as well as in the economic forests of the Kołaczyce (NK) and Brzozów (NB) forest districts. A 1−km−long transect was established on both sides along each educational trail with control points determined every 10 m. In total 200 points were distinguished and data on the degree of soil damage was collected at research plots with an area of 1 m2 each. Based on these 200 plots, damage of young trees and soil were measured. The studies indicate that the damage to the soil and trees in the immediate vicinity of the routes available for recreation and tourism are very large. In all objects, 53−99% of the soil surface and 28−56% of trees were damaged. Slightly damaged soil earned the highest fraction on all studied trails (for NK it was 62%, RB – 49%, RP – 35.5% and NB – 26.5%). The most severe soil damage (packed soil) was recorded in as many as 37% of the measurement points in RB, 9.5% in RP and NB and 7% in NK. The most common form of damage to the trees was bark rub without damaging the pulp or partial damage to the needles or leaves. In case of NK, such damage was observed in 41% of trees, while 30.4% of RB, NB in 20.9% and RP in 13.9%. Trees ranked as the 2 most severe degrees of damage accounted for as much as 9.2% in NK, while 7.2% of RP, 6.4% in RB and 5.6% in NB. The damage level of the examined components of the forest environment determined in the study as a result of tourist and recreational use should be considered as high.

Opis:
Temporomandibular disorders affect from 5 to 12 percent of the population, occurring almost twice as often in women than in men. The painful form of temporomandibular disorders is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders causing pain. The chronic form is associated with changes in activity of the masticatory muscles and can lead to sleep problems, reduction of emotional state and worsening of quality of life. Methods: 66 women were included in the study group. The study was composed of a clinical evaluation of temporomandibular disorders and assessment of the masticatory muscle activities using surface electromyography. The anterior part of the temporalis muscle and the superficial part of the masseter muscle were evaluated during teeth clenching on cotton rolls. The symmetric activity index was calculated from the results of electromyographic activity. Based on the activity and symmetric activity index values, subjects were qualified to the risk group of temporomandibular disorders. Results: Twenty people (30.3 percent) qualified for the temporomandibular disorders risk group. In the temporomandibular disorders risk group, the mean symmetric activity index value of the anterior part of the temporal muscle was 72.6 percent and the mean electromyographic activity was 143.94 microvolts. In the masseter muscle, the mean symmetric activity index value was 67.7 percent and the mean electromyographic activity was 155.33 microvolts. Conclusions: Temporomandibular disorders may develop in 30.3 percent of examined women. The research should be continued to determine the temporomandibular disorders risk group, which may enable for the appropriate prevention of the development of dysfunctions in the stomatognathic system.

Opis:
The experiments was conducted in 2009–2010 in the mountain area. The rate of dry matter yield increase and total nitrogen was assessed in four grasses: Festuca pratensis, Dactylis glomerata, Phleum pratense, Lolium perenne. The evaluation of growth dynamics of dry matter and nitrogen accumulation in the year of sowing was made in four periods: I – 31 days after emergence of grasses, II – at harvest time, III – 21 days after first cut, IV – 51 days later. In the second year of the experiment growth was assessed four times, every 2 weeks from the beginning of vegetation. Results of investigations shows that pace growth of dry matter yield was lower than accumulation pace of total nitrogen.

Opis:
The experiment was conducted in 2008–2010 in the mountain area. Cumulation of protein and crude fiber were assesed in four grasses: Festuca pratensis, Dactylis glomerata, Phleum pratense, Arrhenatherum elatius. The experience was two-factor. The first factor was varied nitrogen (50, 100, 150 kg ha–1) with constant phosphorus-potassium fertilization. The second factor was the phonological stage – first was at the earing, second – during flowering. Results of assesment shows that Festuca pratensis and Arrhenatherum elatius increased the protein content in plants and reduced the aging process with increasing nitrogen fertilization. In mountain conditions the optimal dose of nitrogen Phleum pratense seems to be 100 kg ha–1 while for Dactylis glomerata best dose was 150 kg.
