    The study presents results of investigations carried out in the course of driving a motorcar by a person with a locomotive disability. Driving tests were conducted in road conditions, The scope of the performed analysis covered investigations concerning somatic and receptor relationships in the man - technical means system and, to a lesser extent, dealt with the psychological aspects of vehicle driving. The investigations employed selected methods of identification of expectations from direct users - questionnaire and interview. Initial investigations were carried out for one person with a locomotive disability (paraplegia). The authors used tests for the determination of subjective sensations during motorcar driving (comfort test and seat comfort). The employed questionnaire tools used verbal and point scales. The final result of initial experiments is a description of the adjustment of the vehicle with equipment (manually-operated accelerator - brake device) to the requirements of the driver with a locomotive disability on the basis of the driver 's subjective sensations of discomfort. This type of Information obtained in the form meeting the wishes or demands of the user provides the basis for the elaboration of design requirements. The results indicate that a typical driver's space designed for an able-bodied person does not fully meet the requirements of a person with a locomotive disability.

    The study discusses results of investigations carried out in the course of driving a motorcar by a person with a locomotive disability. Driving tests were conducted in road conditions as well as on a manoeuvring sąuare. Observations concerned interactions of the disabled person during his/her utilisation of different pieces of equipment situated within the reach of the user's hands. The scope of the performed analysis covered investigations concerning somatic and receptor relationships in the man - technical means system and, to a lesser extent, dealt with the psychological aspects of vehicle driving. The investigations employed selected methods of Identification of expectations from direst users - video registration. Initial investigations were carried out for one person with a locomotive disability (paraplegia). Driver 's positions when performing various manoeuvres were initially compared with standard data (access to the comfort zone or comfort angles). The finał result of initial experiments is a description of the adjustment of the vehicle with equipment (manually-operated accelerator - brake) to the requirements of the driver with a locomotive disability. Moreover, the authors also give a list ofoperations, performed in the car, which require either assistance using technical means or redesigning in the motorcar.

    The possibility of utilisation of an individually adjusted personal motorcar is one of important preconditions to undertake professional activities by persons with a considerable locomotive disability. This refers, in particular, to persons who move with the assistance of wheel chairs. Typical, serially manufactured personal motorcars are adapted to the requirements resulting from a disability. The original construction of such cars usually does not take into consideration specific needs of disabled persons. The objective of this study was to elaborate a list of specific car design requirements for a driver with a locomotive disability. The object of the performed analyses was the process of car driving (problems associated with independent loading and unloading of a foldable wheelchair were omitted). Furthermore, the authors did not study ergonomic issues associated with the maladjustment of individual devices adapting the car. The analysed data were obtained following interviews based on questionnaires submitted by disabled users of personal cars. All respondents moved about with the aid of wheelchairs and their disability was the result of injuries of the spinal cord (paraplegia and tetraplegia). The result of the investigations is a catalogue of specific ergonomic requirements regarding the operating space of the personal car driver.

    The paper presents the results of sedimentological and biostratigraphical analyses from the Resko Przymorskie Lake spit (NW Poland), supported by radiocarbon datings. The study has aimed to recognize the geological structure of the spit and its base and to recognize the palaeoenivronmental changes. Nine sedimentary series composing the Resko Przymorskie Lake spit have been distinguished (I–IX). The oldest sediments are the Vistulian Glaciation till (series I) and fluvioglacial sand and gravel (series II). In the Early Holocene, in the study area there was a river valley (series III) followed by a shallow water basin (series IV), which was replaced by a peat bog (series V). In the Atlantic (7.4 ka cal BP), the water level rose (Littorina transgression) and accumulation of lagoonal sediments started (series VI). Biostratigraphic analysis of deposits in series VI indicates a marine influence. In the Atlantic and Subboreal, the spit moved southwards and fine sand (series VII) was deposited on lagoonal gyttja and silt (series VI). In the western part of the study area, peat accumulated (series VIII), dated at 6.7 ka cal BP (Late Atlantic). The youngest series IX is composed of aeolian fine sand in white dunes that formed in the last 400 years.

    Dysfunkcje narządu ruchu są najczęstszą przyczyną niepełnosprawności. W przypadku znacznej niepełnosprawności ruchowej, skutkującej koniecznością użytkowania wózka inwalidzkiego, indywidualnie przystosowany samochód osobowy jest bardzo skutecznym urządzeniem zmniejszającym ograniczenia w funkcjonowaniu oraz ograniczenia społeczne. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest syntetyczne zestawienie ergonomicznych kryteriów doboru urządzeń adaptujących seryjne samochody osobowe do potrzeb niepełnosprawnych kierowców oraz zestawienie wybranych, najczęściej spotykanych, rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych stosowanych w tej dziedzinie. Zidentyfikowano trzy główne obszary wspomagania osoby niepełnosprawnej: 1) wsiadanie i wysiadanie, 2) załadunek i wyładunek wózka inwalidzkiego, 3) kierowanie pojazdem. Przedstawiono kryteria doboru urządzeń do adaptacji pojazdów dla osób niepełnosprawnych w kontekście 8 typów niepełnosprawności ruchowej i na tej podstawie dokonano przeglądu rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych w zakresie dostosowań pojazdów dla osób niepełnosprawnych oraz kryteriów wyboru pojazdu.
    Dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system are the most common cause of disability. In case of severe motor disability, resulting in the need to use a wheelchair, individually adapted car is a very effective device decreasing limitations in functioning and social limitations. The purpose of this article is a synthetic combination of ergonomic criteria for selection of adapters serial cars for handicapped drivers and a list of selected, most common, structural solutions in this field. It identified three main areas of support of the disabled person: 1) entering and exiting, 2) the loading and unloading of a wheelchair, 3) driving. Presents the criteria for selection of equipment adaptive vehicles for persons with disabilities in the context of the 8 types of motor disability and on the basis of a review of design solutions in the field of vehicle adaptations for disabled people and the selection criteria of the vehicle.

    Wymagania stawiane samochodom dostosowanym do kierowania przez osobę określoną jako niepełnosprawna różnią się od wymagań stawianych samochodom osobowym dla pełnosprawnych kierowców. Zakres oraz forma dostosowań jest każdorazowo przygotowywana indywidualnie. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie propozycji algorytmizacji postępowania w trakcie doboru pojazdu oraz doboru zakresu i rodzaju dostosowań w indywidualnym samochodzie osobowym dla niepełnosprawnego kierowcy. W pracy przedstawiono propozycję trzyczęściowego algorytmu doboru pojazdu oraz doboru zastosowanych w nich urządzeń dostosowujących wnętrze do potrzeb osób niepełnosprawnych. Zaproponowano również sposób walidacji przyjętych rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych za pomocą listy kontrolnej. W konkluzji podkreślono dużą dywersyfikację potrzeb wynikających z różnych rodzajów niepełnosprawności oraz wielości dostępnych rozwiązań konstrukcyjnych.
    Requirements cars adapted for driving by a person referred to disability are different from requirements for passenger cars for disabled drivers. The scope and form of adaptation is always prepared individually. The aim of this article is to present a proposal algorithmization proceedings during the vehicle selection and the selection of the scope and type of adjustments to the individual passenger car for a disabled driver. The study proposes a three-part algorithm selection and the selection of the vehicle used in these devices adapting the interior to the needs of people with disabilities. It proposes a way of validating the adopted design solutions using the checklist. In conclusion highlights the high diversification of the needs of the various types of disability and the multitude of available design solutions.

    Modern means of public transport should consider the needs of all users. This article presents ergonomics guidelines and legal requirements for the accessibility of public transport for people with special needs. It defines the main problem areas, and then compares them with the principles of universal design. Numerous sources helpful in identifying the needs of people with disabilities are presented. An open catalog of sample ergonomic solutions ends this article.

    Samodzielne przemieszczanie się ma istotny wpływ na jakość życia każdego człowieka, jest to szczególnie ważne dla osób z niepełnosprawnościami. W artykule przedstawiono wytyczne ergonomiczne dotyczące techniki przystosowywania indywidualnych samochodów do potrzeb niepełnosprawnego kierowcy i pasażera. Opisywane rozwiązania osobno ujęto dla indywidualnych samochodów osobowych oraz osobno dla uniwersalnych samochodów do przewożenia dowolnego użytkownika wózka inwalidzkiego. Podsumowanie artykułu stanowi skonfrontowanie wytycznych z zasadami ergonomii.
    Independent mobility is significant for everybody's quality of life it is especially important for people with disabilities. This article presents ergonomics guidelines for adapting individual cars to meet the needs of drivers with disabilities and their passengers. The solutions have been described for individual cars and for universal cars for transporting any user of a wheelchair. This article ends with a confrontation of the guidelines with the principles of ergonomics.

    Opis:
    The Baltic Sea is not typically considered as an area affected by tsunamis. However, during the Late Pleistocene and Holocene several tsunami events have been interpreted from the sedimentary record, mainly in Sweden and Estonia. Furthermore, on the southern coast of the Baltic Sea, there are historical accounts of catastrophical marine floodings called “der Seebär” (“the Sea Bear”). Their descriptions reveal many features typical for tsunami, but their genesis remained unknown and sedimentary evidence for such events has not been found. Here we provide evidence of sandy event layers from the area of Rogowo, NW Poland – the area of historical catastrophic storms as well as “der Seebär” events. The study area is a low-lying coastal plain with an average elevation of –0.5 to +0.5 m a.s.l., protected from the open sea by beach and coastal dune systems up to 5 m high. Sedimentological, micropalaeontological and geochemical analyses along with AMS 14C dating were applied to sedimentary successions seen in 5 major trenches and 198 sediment cores up to 1.5 m long. Two sandy layers were identified in the peat deposits that developed on the plain during the last ~2000 years. They reveal a number of typical features of tsunami deposits (significant lateral extent and thickness, rip-up clasts, chemical and micropalaeontological evidence of marine origin), however, 14C dating along with the historical accounts revealed that the major layer, extending at least 1.2 km from the modern coasts, was probably deposited by arguably the largest storm surge during the last 2000 years, which took place in 1497 AD. These storm deposits were likely formed during inundation of the low-lying coastal plain after major breaching of coastal dunes resulting in tsunami – like flow pattern and thus similar sedimentological effects. A discontinuous sand layer of younger age (18th century) and sharing similar properties to the previous one may be related to “der Seebär” event or another storm surge. The study revealed that the southern Baltic Sea coast may be affected by much greater coastal flooding than known from more recent accounts and observations. Thus, the presented geological record should be taken as an example of a worst-case scenario in coastal zone risk assessment from natural hazards. These events left sedimentary deposits that resemble tsunami deposits. It is likely that, in similar settings where storm surges cause unidirectional inundation of a coastal plain, it may not be possible to establish whether the resulting deposits were laid down from storms or tsunamis.

    W pracy przedstawiono metodyczne podejście do rozwiązania problemu projektowania wózka inwalidzkiego spełniającego więcej potrzeb niż zazwyczaj. Zdekomponowano zadanie projektowe. Zbudowano hierarchię funkcji oraz podano wymagania podstawowe i dodatkowe dla wózka inwalidzkiego. Przedstawiono dwa koncepcyjne warianty rozwiązania zadania projektowego.
    The paper presents a methodical approach to solving the problem of designing a wheelchair that meets more than the usual needs of users. The design task was decomposed. A hierarchy of functions was built and the basic and additional requirements for a wheelchair were presented. In the paper, two conceptual variants of solutions to the design task are presented.
