Opis:
An ecoefficient, economical and sustainable valorization process for the synthesis of Co3O4 from waste lithium-ion battery (LIB) by leaching-solvent extract-scrubbing-precipitation stripping route has been developed. Through an optimization, the waste LIB cathode was leached using 2000 mole/m3 of H2SO4 and 5 Vol. % of the H2O2 at a pulp density of 100 kg/m3 under leaching time 60 minutes and temperature 75°C. From the separated leach liquor, cobalt was purified by saponified Cyanex 272. From cobalt, loaded Cyanex 272 impurities were scrubbed and the CoC2O4·2H2O was recovered through precipitation stripping. Finally, the precipitate was calcined to synthesize Co3O4, which is a precursor for LIB cathode materials manufacturing. From TGA-DTA, followed by XRD analysis it was confirmed that at 200°C the CoC2O4·2H2O can be converted to anhydrous CoC2O4 and at 350°C the anhydrous can be converted to Co3O4 and at 1100°C the Co3O4 can be converted to CoO. Through reported route waste LIB can back to LIB manufacturing process through a versatile and flexible industrial approach.

Opis:
MA956 (Fe-Cr-Al) alloy powder was high-energy ball milled with various amount of yttria contents (1,2,3, and 4 wt.%) to fabricate an oxide dispersion strengthened alloy. The milled powders were then consolidated using hot press sintering at 1150°C. The surface morphology and crystal structure of MA956 powder during the high-energy milling depending on the yttria contents was investigated using particle size analysis, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy. The microstructural analysis of sintered alloy was performed using transmission electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy to evaluate the dispersion behavior of yttrium oxide. The results showed that, as yttria contents increased, the oxide particles became finer and are uniformly distributed during the high-energy milling. However, after the sintering, the oxide particles were coarsened with more than 3 wt.% of yttria addition.

Opis:
Controlling multi-link flexible robots is very difficult compared rigid ones due to inter-link coupling, nonlinear dynamics, distributed link flexure and under-actuation. Hence, while designing controllers for such systems the controllers should be equipped with optimal gain parameters. Evolutionary Computing (EC) approaches such as Genetic Algorithm (GA), Bacteria Foraging Optimization (BFO) are popular in achieving global parameter optimizations. In this paper we exploit these EC techniques in achieving optimal PD controller for controlling the tip position of a two-link flexible robot. Performance analysis of the EC tuned PD controllers applied to a two-link flexible robot system has been discussed with number of simulation results.
