Opis:
Petrographic analysis, including the indicator erratics count method of coarse pebbles (20–60 mm), was performed for the first subsurface layer of the glacial till in the vicinity of the city of Radom. Crystalline rocks comprise 60% of the sample, whereas carbonate and clastic sedimentary rocks total 18% and 15%, respectively. Among the crystalline rocks, 14% clasts were identified as indicator erratics. The majority of the indictor erratics originated from the Åland region (63%). Significant contributions were also derived from the central Baltic Basin (12%), Ångermanland (9%) and Uppland (9%) regions. Trace amounts are recorded from the northern Baltic, Dalarna and Småland regions. The spatial distribution of crystalline erratic source areas suggests material incorporation into an ice sheet mainly from central-eastern Fennoscandia. The indicator assemblage composition indicates the Odranian (MIS 6) origin of the till. The majority of the erratic sedimentary rocks were derived from the central and southern Baltic Basin while local rocks comprise a minor proportion. The relatively low carbonate clasts content indicates that the till was affected by partial decalcification resulting from post-depositional chemical weathering. This study supplements the results on erratic pebble provenance in the glacial tills of Middle Polish Glaciation Complex in Poland.

Artykuł przedstawia analizę porównawczą wybranych narzędzi służących do przeprowadzania testów jednostkowych. Analizie zostały poddane trzy najpopularniejsze frameworki: MSTest, NUnit oraz xUnit.net. Analiza polega na porównaniu szybkości wykonywania testów przez narzędzia w sposób szeregowy oraz równoległy. Badania przeprowadzono z wykorzystaniem autorskiej aplikacji na platformę .NET.
The paper presents a comparative analysis of selected tools to perform unit tests. The analysis covers three most popular frameworks: MSTest, NUnit and xUnit.net. The analysis concerns the comparison of the speed of tests performing by the tools in serial and parallel manner. The tests were carried out by the author's application dedicated to .NET platform.

Opis:
Compaction is one of the fundamental modes of strain localization. Pure compaction bands are deformation structures that develop in granular rocks. The Otryt sandstone, a flysch sandstone, hosts naturally formed pure compaction bands that originated due to tectonic shortening. The pure compaction bands formed when the host rock was poorly indurated. The deformation bands are of the disaggregation or cataclastic type, with cataclasis occurring more frequently in coarser-grained sandstones. Additionally, in laminated fine-grained sandstones, disaggregation takes the form of micro-folding. Textural features of the host rock appear to control the microstructural type of pure compaction band.

Lower Cambrian Mt Currie conglomerate at Kata Tjuta bornhardts (Central Australia) bears numerous fractured clasts. Clast-cutting fractures are restricted to particular clasts, the matrix of the conglomerate is not fractured. The fractures are tectonic joints of two sets. The joints were formed due to either seismic or aseismic deformation. In the former case, the fractures may result from Early Paleozoic earthquakes.

The paper briefly describes 3D variability of reservoir properties, such as porosity and permeability at a micro-scale in reference to the directionality of rock microtexture andthe occurrence of a deformation band. The study was conducted on the sample of the coarse-grained Krosno Sandstones with a deformation band after treatment with hydrochloric acid.Spot measurements of permeability using a portable air minipermeameter and porosity using X-ray computed microtomography were made. The local porosity within the sample ranges from 1.38 to 2.70 %, whereas the permeability varies from 7.5 to 14.5 mD. The anisotropy of permeability within the sample is related to the orientation of pores. The highest permeability values are observed in the direction parallel to the largest elongation of pores. The deformation band shows higher permeability values in comparison to the undeformed part of the sample.

The paper briefly describes a possible application of X-ray computed microtomography studies followed by digital image analysis, enabling petrological assessment of carbonate rocks. The contribution presents an example of a complex, qualitative and quantitative approach aiming at deriving shape, geometry and spatial orientation of rock components as applied for a carbonate reservoir rock sample from the Zechstein Limestone (Ca1) strata. Apart from the basic properties of the analyzed objects, such as volume, surface area and number, detailed shape descriptors were obtained (compactness, sphericity, elongation, flatness, spareness). The presented approach allows for obtaining detailed 3D results at the microscopic scale, enabling extensive characterization of the studied material geometry. The methods proposed could be applied for other rock types as well.

W artykule postawiono dwa główne cele. Po pierwsze, prezentację założeń teoretycznych oraz techniki obliczeń stosowanych w projekcji odwróconej (inverse projection). Metoda, szerzej znana w anglojęzycznej literaturze przedmiotu, zaproponowana w latach 70. XX wieku przez Ronalda D. Lee i rozwijana m.in. w kręgu badaczy Cambridge Group nie doczekała się jeszcze pełniejszego omówienia ani też zastosowania, na gruncie polskich badan demograficznych. Drugi cel badań ma wymiar praktyczny i polega na przeprowadzeniu symulacji potwierdzających elastyczność w doborze parametrów początkowych konstruowanych modeli populacji.
There are two aims in the article; firstly, to present the theoretical assumptions and the calculation techniques used in inverse projection. The method, widely known in the Anglo-Saxon literature, created in the 1970s by Ronald D. Lee and developed by members of the so-called Cambridge Group has not been yet comprehensively discussed or applied by Polish demographers. The second aim is practical and consists in carrying out simulations confirming the flexibility while choosing the initial parameters of the models of populations that are being constructed.

The study aims to either validate or disprove the hypothesis that market services, alongside industry, played a key role in spurring the development of the Polish economy in 1995-2012. The authors conduct a multifaceted empirical analysis that addresses a range of research questions related to the role of structural change and variations in relative prices in economic growth. The article also examines the behavior of industry and services during a business cycle and the internal differentiation of market services. The results of the authors’ macroeconomic analyses are based on national accounts data from 1995-2012. The article scrutinizes differences across service sectors in terms of the levels and dynamics of labor productivity and employment, based on firm-level data from 2005-2012. The authors find that the role of market services in employment in Poland steadily increased in 1995-2012. At the same time, due to technological change, industry enjoyed stronger growth in labor productivity and total factor productivity (TFP). The prices of manufactured goods steadily fell compared with services. However, the cyclical variability of employment and value added was clearly lower in market services. Due to substantial heterogeneity across firms within the considered categories, the authors say they were “unable to identify significantly higher dynamics of exports-intensive, capital-intensive, business-to-business (B2B) or knowledge-based services.” On the basis of their research, the authors predict that, due to the increasing role of market services, Poland’s economic growth will be slower but more stable in the future.
Celem artykułu jest weryfikacja hipotezy, że usługi rynkowe odgrywały, obok przemysłu, kluczową rolę w procesach rozwojowych gospodarki Polski w latach 1995-2012. Cel ten zrealizowano poprzez uszczegółowioną, wielowątkową analizę empiryczną, pozwalającą odpowiedzieć na pytania badawcze związane z rolą obserwowanej w Polsce zmiany strukturalnej oraz zmian cen względnych w objaśnianiu dynamiki wzrostu gospodarczego, a także zachowaniem przemysłu i usług w cyklu koniunkturalnym oraz zróżnicowaniem wewnętrznym usług rynkowych. Wyniki analiz makroekonomicznych oparto na danych z rachunków narodowych z lat 1995–2012. Ponadto opierając się na danych jednostkowych na poziomie firm z lat 2005–2012, przeanalizowano różnice pomiędzy poszczególnymi branżami usługowymi pod względem poziomu oraz dynamiki produktywności pracy i zatrudnienia. Uzyskane wyniki są następujące. W latach 1995–2012 obserwowano w Polsce systematyczny wzrost udziału usług rynkowych w zatrudnieniu. Równocześnie jednak produktywność pracy oraz całkowita produktywność czynników (TFP) rosły wolniej w tym sektorze w porównaniu z sektorem przemysłowym, w związku z relatywnie szybszym postępem technologicznym w przemyśle. Systematycznie spadała też cena względna dóbr przemysłowych w porównaniu z usługami. Zmienność zatrudnienia i wartości dodanej w cyklu koniunkturalnym była natomiast wyraźnie mniejsza w usługach rynkowych. Na tle wysokiej heterogeniczności firm w ramach poszczególnych branż, nie stwierdzono istotnie różnej dynamiki rozwojowej usług eksportointensywnych, relatywnie kapitałochłonnych, skierowanych do biznesu (B2B), ani usług opartych na wiedzy. Z uzyskanych wyników wyprowadzono prognozę, że gospodarka polska będzie w przyszłości wskutek zwiększającej się roli usług rynkowych rosnąć nieco wolniej, ale stabilniej niż dotychczas.
