    The article explores pictures of “a little girl” and of sexual initiation in 20th and 21st-century Polish women’s poetry, especially by Wisława Szymborska, Barbara Klicka, Jolanta Nawrot, Wioletta Grzegorzewska i Małgorzata Lebda. The girlhood showed in their poems is a certain potentiality of womanhood, often imbued with ripening eroticism very difficult to control. At the same time the girlhood is entangled in schematism of potential scenarios destined for a women subject: personal dependence and sense of being dominated, escape or emancipation. Initiatory poems show rather strong dependence on archetypical (The Little Match Girl) and mythicizing conventions of describing adolescence, still they can present idiomatic construction of female identity.

    Artykuł prezentuje interpretację poezji Bogusława Kierca w kontekście filozofi cznych odniesień do ciała, mistycyzmu chrześcijańskiego i komunii, postsekularnej teorii nagości Georgia Agambena oraz kategorii epektasis. Występujące w tej poezji elementy, jak „wychylanie się z ciała” czy erotyzacja osoby Chrystusa są transgresją przeciw schematom zachowań religij nych w celu poszukiwania nieograniczonej jedności z Bogiem, łącznie z poetyką sakralizacji ujawniają dążenie twórczości B. Kierca do podkreślania wartości ciała i seksualności w doświadczeniu religij nym i możliwości tego doświadczenia w nowoczesności.
    The article presents the interpretation of the poetry of Bogusław Kierc in the context of philosophical references to the body, Christian mysticism and Communion, Agamben’s post-secular theory of nudity and the category of epektasis. Such elements of Kierc’s poetry as ‘leaning out of one’s body’ and erotization of Christ constitute the transgression against religious behavioral patt erns in an att empt to achieve absolute unity with God. Together with the poetics of sacralization, they reveal Kierc’s artistic att empt to emphasize the importance of the body and sexuality in a religious elevation and the possibility of experiencing it in the times of modernity.

    Opis:
    In the collection of poetry entitled ‘Tyszowce i inne miasta’ (‘Tyszowce and other cities’) by Wojciech Kudyba, we deal with the metaphysical and spiritual spatial orientation. The poetry has its origins in the romantic worldview and it consciously defies the modernist urbanistic myth. Human life is shown as a constant wandering and quest for pure places – places of origin, return to ‘oneself’ and then the pilgrimage to the holy cities. The city is treated as an axis mundi i.e. cosmogonical center of the world, which for the lyrical subject of this poetry – homo religiosus constitutes the central place in the religious worldview characterized by the symbolism of a circle and vertical movement. Other elements that play a role in sacralization include idyllic description of the childhood land, which similarly as in Mickiewicz’s works is treated as a place of religious initiation, and secure space. The secure space serves as a concept in which a clear distinction between good and evil is delineated and the creation of the metaphor of the God the city takes place. This metaphor embodies thinking about the city as a stronghold, juxtaposing the cosmos of a human being with the cosmos of a broken modern world and the God who has not left the man till the end, the God who is man’s master, home and conversation.

The collection of essays exposes the fear of losing one’s self in the roles imposed on a woman. It has an autotherapeutic and consolatory function.
