Opis:
Investigations of the photoluminescence of PbS-EuS superlattices deposited on (111)BaF$\text{}_{2}$ substrates are presented. Quantum-size and deformation effects in photoluminescence spectra are observed. The strain-induced gap shift and valence-band offset is determined from experimental results. A strong stimulated photoluminescence with relatively low threshold was observed. It was found that the photocarriers generated in EuS barrier strongly affect the population of PbS subbands.

The procedure of evaluation is based on mathematical simulation model of the late blight (LB) development in combination with laboratory testing of detached leaflets artificially inoculated with Phytophthora infestans. An incubation period, amount and sizes of lesions and sporulation capacity are estimated. Each couple “tested Phytophthora isolate and tested potato cultivar” is compared with a standard couple “Phytophthora isolate N161 and standard cultivar”. A simulator on the base of these data calculates area under the curve for LB development and yield loss due to LB for a situation when a yield loss of a standard cultivar infected with a standard isolate is equal 35%. Comparison of a new rapid laboratory method and field methods showed satisfactory correlation. Resistance to late blight was evaluated for 47 potato cultivars with the new method. It was also shown that some variations in foliar aggressiveness existed among P. infestans populations from different regions. Supported by ISTC grant #1640.

Opis:
Changes in the optical characteristics in synthetic sapphire specimens produced by microsecond pulse irradiation with a stream of hydrogen ions of energies ranging up to tens keV have been observed. Data on decrease in the optical reflection, measured within the wavelength range of 200 900 nm, are presented. This characterization is compared with the data received by optical and atomic force microscopy as well as by lattice structure analysis performed with X-rays. The measurements indicate that the changes of optical parameters are not a consequence of absorption increase and/or sapphire decomposition. They result from modifications of the morphology and structure of surface layer of the sapphire samples, induced by irradiation.

Opis:
The use of silicon based light emitting diodes may completely solve the problem of low compatibility of optoelectronics elements and silicon chip. At present time the most suitable kinds of Si-LEDs are monocrystal and porous silicon avalanche LEDs. They have advantages such as long operation lifetime (>10000 hours), continuous spectrum, which allows to filter RGB colors, operation voltages (<12 V), extremely sharp voltage-current characteristic, nanosecond response time, and high high operation current densities (up to 8000 A/cm$\text{}^{2}$ in pulse mode). Rather low energy efficiency (<1%) is not so significant for near to eyes (NTE) microdisplays. These advantages open a way to design a high performance and cost effective passive addressed microdisplays.

Opis:
Dynamics of a resistive hotspot formation by near-infrared-wavelength single photons in nanowire-type superconducting NbN stripes was investigated. Numerical simulations of ultrafast thermalization of photon-excited nonequilibrium quasiparticles, their multiplication and out-diffusion from a site of the photon absorption demonstrate that 1.55 μm wavelength photons create in an ultrathin, two-dimensional superconducting film a resistive hotspot with the diameter which depends on the photon energy, and the nanowire temperature and biasing conditions. Our hotspot model indicates that under the subcritical current bias of the 2D stripe, the electric field penetrates the superconductor at the hotspot boundary, leading to suppression of the stripe superconducting properties and accelerated development of a voltage transient across the stripe.

Opis:
Energy transfer mechanisms to internal molecular degrees of freedom in shock and detonation waves in polyatomic liquids are investigated. The proposed approach uses a new version of the method of nonequilibrium molecular dynamics based on the simplest model potential energy surfaces of reacting polyatomic molecules. The main feature is adaptation of some results and approaches of gas theory to liquids. It is shown that vibrational nonequilibrium is produced by shock compression and influences on chemical reactions. So, the structure of shock and detonation waves depends strongly on the peculiarities of vibrational spectra and the structure of normal modes of compounds. Numerical simulations have been carried out for steady state detonation waves and processes of initiation of detonation by shock waves or by local heating. The results demonstrate different shock wave chemistry for substances of almost identical behaviour at static conditions.

The work was aimed at studying abilities of soil microorganisms to participate in metal/radionuclide mobility processes by accumulating them. Soil microorganisms were treated with a mixture of heavy metals (Cr(III), Ni, Fe(III), Mn(II), Cd) in order to isolate the most tolerant ones. Among more metal-tolerant microorganisms microscopic fungi dominated. Tests of fungal tolerance towards each metal showed that the most tolerant fungi to almost all metals were Aspergillus niger, Penicillium oxalicum and Paecilomyces lilacinus. Accumulation ability of metal-tolerant fungi was tested using Pu(IV) and Fe(III). Investigation of Pu accumulation by fungal biomass showed that all the fungi accumulated Pu, and among the most effective radionuclide accumulators Eupenicillium sp., Penicillium oxalicum and Aspergillus niger could be mentioned. All the fungi showed high Fe-accumulation capacity. While growing in the medium with 1 mM iron, most fungi accumulated over 90% of Fe in their biomass. Very good accumulation and growth abilities in Fe-supplemented medium were demonstrated by Paecilomyces lilacinus.

Opis:
Appearance of flexible supply networks can be seen as a response to changes in global markets, being a step beyond the linear supply chain topography. However, when dealing with multiple organizations and multiple processes within a complicated network, identifying and locating a member that has responsibility and/or competence in a particular part of the network can be a laborious, time-consuming process. Knowledge sharing is aimed to assist in solving this problem. The approach presented is based on application of such technologies as ontology and context management, constraint satisfaction and profiling. Ontologies provide for semantic interoperability between flexible supply network members. Usage of the context makes it possible to consider current situation in order to provide for actual knowledge or information. Competence profiles of the supply network members facilitate knowledge sharing and simplify partner selection. They allow formalizing and sharing member's knowledge and competencies. Constraints are used for knowledge description. This enables usage of constraint solvers for finding solutions in various situations.

Opis:
Perchlorate complexes of d-metals with tetrazole-containing ligands are proposed for application both as explosives for safe initiation systems and as modifers of burning rate for propellants. However, the problem of compatibility of organic polynitro compounds with the complexes has not yet been solved. In the present article the results of investigation of the infuence of perchlorate complexes of cobalt, copper and nickel with 1,5-pentamethylentetrazole as a ligand on thermal decomposition of energetic materials ranging from 1,1-diamino-2,2- dinitroethylene (FOX-7), to cyclic cyclotetramethylenetetranitroamine (HMX) and caged hexanitrohexaazaizowurtzitane (CL-20) have been reported. Thermal stability of the individual compounds and their mixtures with coordination complexes has been assessed on the basis of differential thermal analysis and the study of ignition temperatures after 5-second delay. The fraction of the complexes in the formulations with polynitro compounds amounted to ~10%.

Basing on analysis of experimental data for physicochemical parameters of 300 energetic compounds from different chemical classes, a set of basic characteristics (enthalpies of formation, molecular crystals densities, detonation parameters, as well as sensitivity to different kinds of impact) has been considered and some calculations schemes have been elaborated to estimate these characteristics for polynitrogen compounds. The limits of physicochemical values for energetic materials (EMs) parameters have been estimated. A large set of compounds has been investigated and some of them seem to be rather effective as explosives or monopropellants. There are about ten powerful compounds (e.g. octanitrocubane, hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane, azanitrofurazan, etc.), explosives- oxidizers (such as ammonium dinitroamide and bis(difuroamine-dini troethil) nitroamine) and several hypothetic substances (not synthesized yet), such as octaazacubane, octaazatetraen, tetranitrotetraazacubane etc. Energetic properties were estimated as for individual compounds, as well as for energetic compositions containing these substances together with other ones in the aim to estimate the effectiveness of their use as components of solid composite propellants.

Several metal perchlorate complexes with 3(5)-hydrazino-4-amino- 1,2,4-triazole as a ligand were investigated. It was shown that the threshold of laser initiation of the copper complex changed under the influence of additives of optically transparent polymers, detonation nanodiamonds or nanotubes.

The article presents the production technology of binding and building composite materials on the basis of glass wastes. Compositions of mortar mixes, heavy and light concretes are developed and optimized. It is proved that given materials are bioresistant in conditions, influenced by microscopic organisms.
W artykule zaprezentowano technologię produkcji budowlanych materiałów kompozytowych wytwarzanych z wykorzystaniem odpadów szklanych. Kompozycja zapraw, ciężkich i lekkich betonów została opracowana i zoptymalizowana. Wykazano, że uzyskiwane materiały są bioodporne w warunkach oddziaływania mikroorganizmów.

The results of X-ray, scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy studies of near-surface regions of (111) $Hg_{1-x}Cd_{x}Te$ (x = 0.223) structures are presented. These structures were obtained by low-energy implantation with boron and silver ions. TRIM calculation of the depth dependences of impurity concentration and implantation-induced mechanical stresses in the layer near-surface regions has revealed that the low-energy implantation of HgCdTe solid solution with elements of different ionic radiuses $(B^{+}$ and $Ag^{+})$ leads to the formation of layers with significant difference in thickness (400 nm and 100 nm, respectively), as well as with maximum mechanical stresses differing by two orders of magnitude (1.4 × $10^3$ Pa and 2.2 × $10^5$ Pa, respectively). The structural properties of the $Hg_{1-x}Cd_{x}Te$ epilayers were investigated using X-ray high-resolution reciprocal space mapping.

This work investigates the use of enterprise models for service configuration with a focus on knowledge related to organizational roles. Starting from an industrial case, it presents an approach to extract a role’s information demand from an enterprise model and to use this as initial configuration for agent-based services. In addition to the meta-model included in the enterprise modeling language, the use of a common ontology is proposed which captures both, the perspective of information demand and services. The architecture of the agentbased services is following the idea to characterize all actors by their roles and to represent them by sets of services. This approach facilitates self-organization in the service level. The main contributions of the paper are (1) to show that a role’s information demand is relevant for service configuration, (2) to present a way of extracting information demand from enterprise models, and (3) to extend an approach for SOA-based enterprise representation with information demand.
