Opis:
The propagation of laser beam in the plasma has been investigated for two cases, first with imposing the restriction of paraxial approximation on the beam profile, and second, relaxing the restriction on the profile up to a certain extent. The beam width parameter of the propagating laser beam has been compared for both the cases. Since the off-paraxial part of the beam affects background densities, consequently it will also influence the 2nd harmonic generation. Therefore, comparison of results has been done on the generated second harmonic, in the light of these two cases. A notable change is found in the magnitude of second harmonic yield in modified-paraxial case as compared to the paraxial case.

The shaking (shakeup and shakeoff) processes accompanying ion-atom collisions are studied using non-relativistic hydrogenic wave functions for the K-, L- and M-shell electrons in the sudden approximation limit. The role of recoil amplitude in the shaking processes is discussed. It is found that the suddenness of collision between projectile and target nuclei plays a more definitive factor in the shaking of the respective atomic system than the recoil of nuclei.

Opis:
The morphological characterization was carried out for 5 isolates of Trichoderma harzianum and 7 isolates of Trichoderma viride and tested for their biocontrol efficacy. The isolates belonging to T.harzianum were analogous in colony colour, culture smell, mycelial colour, conidiation, conidial shape, conidial wall and conidial colour. Correspondingly the isolates of T.viride showed certain similarity in colony colour, colony edge, culture smell, conidiophore branching, conidial wall, conidial colour and chlamydospores. Inter specific differences through cluster analysis based on morphological characters grouped the twelve isolates into three major clusters where all the isolates of T.harzianum formed a single cluster while the isolates of T.viride were bifurcated into two groups. The clustering was substantiated by similarity index which showed maximum similarity among T.harzianum isolates with only less than 20% variation among themselves. Similarly the clusters having isolates of T.viride also had less variation within them. The biocontrol efficacy of these twelve isolates of Trichoderma was experimented by dual culture test under laboratory condition and there existed some relation between the biocontrol efficacy of these isolates and morphology.

Opis:
The Rayleigh-Taylor instability of two superposed incompressible fluids of different densities in the presence of small rotation, surface tension and suspended dust particles is investigated. The linearized equations of the problem are constructed and the general dispersion relation is obtained using normal mode analysis by applying the appropriate boundary conditions. The effects of surface tension, the Atwood number, small rotation and suspended dust particles are studied on both conditions of Rayleigh-Taylor instability and growth rate of the unstable Rayleigh-Taylor mode. The numerical calculations have been performed to see the effect of rotation, the Atwood number, relaxation frequency and mass concentration of suspended dust particles. It is found that the growth rate of Rayleigh-Taylor instability depends upon the mass concentration and relaxation frequency of suspended dust particles. The uniform small rotation, relaxation frequency and mass concentration of suspended dust particles all have stabilizing influence on the growth rate of Rayleigh-Taylor instability. It is also found that the Atwood number has destabilizing influence on the growth rate of the considered Rayleigh-Taylor configuration.

Opis:
The paper aims at localization of the anchor node (fixed node) by pursuit nodes (movable node) in outdoor location. Two methods are studied for node localization. The first method is based on LNSM (Log Normal Shadowing Model) technique to localize the anchor node and the second method is based on Hybrid TLBO (Teacher Learning Based Optimization Algorithm) - Unilateral technique. In the first approach the ZigBee protocol has been used to localize the node, which uses RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) values in dBm. LNSM technique is implemented in the self-designed hardware node and localization is studied for Outdoor location. The statistical analysis using RMSE (root mean square error) for outdoor location is done and distance error found to be 35 mtrs. The same outdoor location has been used and statistical analysis is done for localization of nodes using Hybrid TLBO-Unilateral technique. The Hybrid-TLBO Unilateral technique significantly localizes anchor node with distance error of 0.7 mtrs. The RSSI values obtained are normally distributed and standard deviation in RSSI value is observed as 1.01 for outdoor location. The node becomes 100% discoverable after using hybrid TLBO- Unilateral technique.

Anthracnose disease symptoms were observed on Jasminum grandiflorum. The spots were dark red and mostly irregular shaped lesions on leaves. Acervuli containing masses of spores and dark setae were observed within lesions. The fungus after purification was identified as Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. This is the first report from India and elsewhere showing that C. gloeosporioides causes anthracnose on J. grandiflorum.

Opis:
Background: a humidity sensor is used to sense and measure the relative humidity of air. A new composite system has been fabricated using environmental pollutants such as carbon black and low-cost zinc oxide, and it acts as a humidity sensor. Residual life of the sensor is calculated and an expert system is modelled. For properties and nature confirmation, characterization is performed, and a sensing material is fabricated. Methodology: characterization is performed on the fabricated material. Complex impedance spectroscopy (CIS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) are all used to confirm the surface roughness, its composite nature as well as the morphology of the composite. The residual lifetime of the fabricated humidity sensor is calculated by means of accelerated life testing. An intelligent model is designed using artificial intelligence techniques, including the artificial neural network (ANN), fuzzy inference system (FIS) and adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). Results: maximum conductivity obtained is 6.4£10−3 S/cm when zinc oxide is doped with 80% of carbon black. Conclusion: the solid composite obtained possesses good humidity-sensing capability in the range of 30–95%. ANFIS exhibits the maximum prediction accuracy, with an error rate of just 1.1%.

In this paper, the design and analysis of a compact size coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed antenna for ultrawideband (UWB) applications is presented. The antenna has a compact size of 20×20×1.1 .5 .mm and provides a good impedance matching over the entire bandwidth of 3.2–14.3 GHz. The characteristics parameters, i.e. return loss, VSWR and radiation pattern, are analyzed using HFSS 11.0 software.

Opis:
Phylloplane microbes have been studied as strategic tools in management against plant pathogens. Non-pathogenic bacteria and fungi have been applied as crop protectants against various plant diseases. The present study aimed at evaluating the potentiality of Aspergillus niger spores in altering the activity of four key enzymes related to defense in tomato. The experiment was designed such that two groups of 50 tomato plants were considered: group 1 – sprayed with autoclaved distilled water (control) and group 2 – sprayed with A. niger spores. Spraying was carried out under aseptic conditions. The experimental parameters included analysis of the activity of peroxidase (POX), polyphenol oxidase (PPO), phenylalanine ammonia lyase (PAL) and tyrosine ammonia lyase (TAL) as well as expression of POX and PPO isoforms. The results demonstrated an inductive effect of A. niger on the activity of POX, PPO, PAL and TAL. Enhanced expression of POX and PPO isoforms was also observed. The results indicated that A. niger can be considered probiotic for the management of tomato against its phytopathogens.
