    Opis:
    The actual motivation of this paper is to develop a functional link between artificial neural network (ANN) with Legendre polynomials and simulated annealing termed as Legendre simulated annealing neural network (LSANN). To demonstrate the applicability, it is employed to study the nonlinear Lane-Emden singular initial value problem that governs the polytropic and isothermal gas spheres. In LSANN, minimization of error is performed by simulated annealing method while Legendre polynomials are used in hidden layer to control the singularity problem. Many illustrative examples of Lane-Emden type are discussed and results are compared with the formerly used algorithms. As well as with accuracy of results and tranquil implementation it provides the numerical solution over the entire finite domain.

    Opis:
    A new idea was investigated in this study wherein the use of coagulants was assessed in the wash-off process to simultaneously remove unfixed reactive dyes from fabrics and wash off liquor. At the end of dark shade dyeing (5% owf) with C.I. Reactive Yellow 145, C.I. Reactive Red 194, and C.I. Reactive Black 5, fabrics were subjected to both conventional and new wash-off methods, and comparisons were made. The effectiveness of coagulant wash-off was evaluated in terms of the change in shade, wash fastness, rubbing properties, and colour difference values (ΔL*,ΔC*, Δh* & ΔE*). The colour removal efficiency (%) of liquor was considered as indicative of the removal of unfixed dyes from the fabric. Overall results have shown that the use of alum and MgCl2 coagulants during the wash-off process can achieve up to an 87% reduction in the colour of wash-off liquor, without compromising the colour properties of the dyed substrate.
    W pracy przedyskutowano nową koncepcję polegającą na zastosowaniu koagulantów w procesie prania z jednoczesnym usunięciem niezwiązanych barwników reaktywnych z tkanin tekstylnych i płynów pralniczych. Oceniano zmiany odcieni zabarwienia przy barwieniu barwnikami C.I. Reactive Yellow 145, C.I. Reactive Red 194 i C.I. Reactive Black 5; dla porównania materiały barwione poddano tradycyjnemu praniu i obróbce według opracowanej metody. Wyniki badań wykazały, że stosowanie koagulantów ałunu i MgCl2 podczas procesu pralniczego prowadzi do 87% redukcji koloru płynu pralniczego bez równoczesnego wpływu na kolor barwionych tkanin.

    Opis:
    Flame retardant and antimicrobial functionalities were imparted in jute textile using sodium metasilicate nonahydrate (SMSN), commonly known as “water glass”. Sodium metasilicate nonahydrate (SMSN) was applied in jute fabric in different concentration by padding method followed by drying. Flame retardancy of the fabric was evaluated by Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) and burning behaviour under vertical flammability tester including the char length. Burning rate was found to decrease by almost 10 times after an application of 2% SMSN compared to the control sample. Thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis of both the control and treated jute fabrics were utilized to understand the mechanism of developed flame retardance in jute fabric. It was observed that the SMSN treated samples showed excellent antimicrobial property against both gram positive and gram negative bacteria. Antimicrobial properties of both the control and treated jute fabrics were also measured quantitatively.

    Opis:
    The lifting capacity of a crawler crane is limited by its stability and structural strength. This paper analyzes the stability factor by calculating tipping loads at various load radii for a particular boom length. It shows that the tipping load decreases with an increase in the load radius. A new structural frame is proposed to extend out the superstructure counterweight of the crane. With such a proposed arrangement, it is shown that the lifting capacity of the crane, limited by stability, increases. Static structural analysis of the proposed structural frame is performed using ANSYS workbench software.

    In this paper, explicit Improved Runge-Kutta (IRK) methods with two, three and four stages have been analyzed in detail to derive the error estimates inherent in them whereas their convergence, order of local accuracy, stability and arithmetic complexity have been proved in the relevant literature. Using single and multivariate Taylor series expansion for a mathematical function of one and two variables respectively, slopes involved in the IRK methods have been expanded in order to obtain the general expression for the leading or principal term in the local truncation error of the methods. In addition to this, principal error functions of the methods have also been derived using the idea of Lotkin bounds which consequently gave rise to the error estimates for the IRK methods. Later, these error estimates were compared with error estimates of the two, three, and four-stage standard explicit Runge-Kutta (RK) methods to show the better performance of the IRK methods in terms of the error bounds on the constant step-size h used for solving the initial value problems in ordinary differential equations. Finally, a couple of initial value problems have been tested to determine the maximum absolute global errors, absolute errors at the final nodal point of the integration interval and the CPU times (seconds) for all the methods under consideration to get a better idea of how the methods behave in a particular situation especially when it comes to analyzing the error terms.

    Opis:
    The synthesis, spectroscopic and X – Ray Diffraction studies of some Pd(II) complexes with bidentate Schiff bases are reported here. These Schiff bases were derived by condensing aldehydes like 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde, 5-chloro salicyladehyde with amines like 4-nitro aniline, 4-methyl aniline and 4-methoxy aniline. The complexes were characterized on the basis of elemental analysis, molar conductivity, spectral (IR, 1H and electronic) as well as thermal analysis. All the Pd (II) complexes exhibit square planar geometry with 1:2 (metal : ligand) stoichiometry. The X- ray diffraction studies suggest monoclinic crystal system for these complexes.
