Opis:
Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative and progressive disease of the central nervous system. It affects more than 10 million patients worldwide and the symptoms allow for little to no control for movement. These symptoms appear because the chemical messenger dopamine is being made in small quantities from impaired cells. However, the disease often forms when there is a mutation in the LRRK2 gene, as the functions of the protein become abnormal. The IC50 value is essential information about molecules because it measures their effectiveness. The goal of this research was to design molecules with a lower IC50 value. This was first done by modeling molecules on the molecular modeling program, Gaussian 09. Modifications were made to molecules that were said to bind to the LRRK2 protein. Modifications ranged from adding a single atom or replacing atoms with groups. After running these molecules on the program, the total energy was found. Using the equation found from the correlation between 1/IC50 and the total energy, the IC50 value was predicted for each of the modified molecules. Many of the modified molecules portrayed a positive percent difference between the original IC50 value and the new one. This saves both time and money because the molecules with lower IC50 values can be made, preserving the resources. After creating the molecule with a low IC50 value, further experimental procedures can be taken; this is a large step in assisting researchers to reach a potential treatment because it is more efficient.

In day to day stressful environment of IT Industry, there is a truancy for the appropriate relaxation time for all working professionals. To keep a person stress free, various technical or non-technical stress releasing methods are now being adopted. We can categorize the people working on computers as administrators, programmers, etc. each of whom require varied ways in order to ease themselves. The work pressure and the vexation of any kind for a person can be depicted by their emotions. Facial expressions are the key to analyze the current psychology of the person. In this paper, we discuss a user intuitive smart music player. This player will capture the facial expressions of a person working on the computer and identify the current emotion. Intuitively the music will be played for the user to relax them. The music player will take into account the foreground processes which the person is executing on the computer. Since various sort of music is available to boost one's enthusiasm, taking into consideration the tasks executed on the system by the user and the current emotions they carry, an ideal playlist of songs will be created and played for the person. The person can browse the playlist and modify it to make the system more flexible. This music player will thus allow the working professionals to stay relaxed in spite of their workloads.

Opis:
The objective of this article is to maximize the joint profit for supplier and retailer by constructing a combined supplier–retailer inventory model wherein supplier and retailer both have implemented trade credit policies, and some defective items are received by the retailer. The customer’s demand is expressed as a function of time, price and credit period, which is appropriate for the products for which demand increases initially and after some time it starts to decrease. Production, directly proportional to the customer’s demand rate, is considered as one of the decision variables for the purpose of reducing the holding cost of the supplier. The article estimates the optimum replenishment cycle, customer’s credit period, retail selling price by a classical optimization technique. For validation of the derived model, various numerical examples are demonstrated. Finally, implementing sensitivity analysis on the decision variables by varying the inventory parameters, effective managerial insights are generated which is beneficial for the players of supply chain by practically gaining the maximum joint profit through advising to opt for the case N ≤ M ≤ T , i.e., when the customer’s trade credit period offered by the retailer is lesser than the retailer’s trade credit period offered by the supplier and which is lesser than the replenishment cycle length.

This article deals with an inventory model under a situation in which the supplier offers the purchaser some credit period if the purchaser orders a large quantity. Shortages are not allowed. The effects of the inflation rate on purchase price, ordering price and inventory holding price, time dependent deterioration of units and permissible delay in payment are discussed. A mathematical model is developed when units in inventory are subject to time dependent deterioration under inflation when the supplier offers a permissible delay to the purchaser if the order quantity is greater than or equal to a pre-specified quantity. Optimal solution is obtained and algorithm is given to find the optimal order quantity and replenishment time, which minimizes the total cost of an inventory system in different scenarios. The paper concludes with a numerical example to illustrate the theoretical results and interdependence of parameters is studied for the optimal solutions.

In this paper, an inventory system is analyzed regarding a trended demand. The seller offers its buyer a credit period for settling the account, which attracts more buyers and enhances market demand. However, the offer of credit period leads to default risk for the supplier. The units in inventory are deteriorating continuously and also have definite maximum lifetime. The aim is to maximize the profit of the retailer. Numerical examples are given to validate the developed mathematical model. Sensitivity analysis is performed to obtain the critical inventory parameters and deduce the managerial strategies.

In this research work, a synthesis, characterization and biological evaluation of 6-substituted-2-(substituted-phenyl)-quinoline derivatives bearing 4-amino-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol ring at C-4 position is described. The synthesis of quinoline derivatives is carried out by the reaction of substituted quinoline-4-carbohydrazides with a mixture of carbon disulphide and potassium hydroxide which further react with hydrazine hydrate to give final compounds. All of these compounds were screened for their in vitro antimicrobial assay against gram (+ve), gram (-ve) bacteria and fungi activity compared with standard drugs viz., Ampicilin, Chloramphenicol, Ciprofloxacin, Norfloxacin, Griseofulvin and Nystatin at different concentrations.

Opis:
Meeting the educational needs of students currently requires moving toward collaborative electronic and mobile learning systems that parallel the vision of Web 2.0. However, factors such as data freedom, brokerage, interconnectivity and the Internet of Things add to a vision for Web 3.0 that will require consideration in the development of future campus-based, distance and vocational study. So, education can, in future, be expected to require deeper technological connections between students and learning environments, based on significant use of sensors, mobile devices, cloud computing and rich-media visualization. Therefore, we discuss challenges associated with such a futuristic campus context, including how learning materials and environments may be enriched by it. As an additional novel element the potential for much of that enrichment to be realized through development by students, within the curriculum, is also considered. We will conclude that much of the technology required to embrace the vision of Web 3.0 in education already exists, but that further research in key areas is required for the concept to achieve its full potential.

Non-uniform conditions on the modules of the PV array, especially, partial shading reduces the output of the PV array to a large extent. The shaded module in a string limits the current of the entire string and hence, the output power of the string. The output power under such conditions is reported to be higher for total-cross-tied (TCT) configuration. This paper describes two different approaches, one based on current compensation (current equalization) and another based on voltage equalization, to extract higher power from the partially shaded total-cross-tied photovoltaic array. The TCT configuration is considered to minimize the number of converters, sensors, cost and complexity involved. The additional converters in the two distinct approaches evaluated here operate only when the partial shading occurs and are controlled to minimize the current and voltage miss-matches. The analysis and the control algorithm are presented. Simulation results obtained in MATLAB/Simulink are included to demonstrate the effectiveness of both methods and the relative merits and demerits of these approaches are highlighted.
