    Purpose: The article concerns the analysis of the applicable normative requirements in the field of product quality planning in the process of approving parts for production. Design/methodology/approach: The analysis, in particular, concerns the correlation of appropriate methods and quality management tools in the quality planning process. Findings: Correct use of quality planning tools in product and process development determines the effectiveness of implementing individual phases of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning). Research limitations/implications: It is important that the organisation skilfully and consciously uses the quality tools required by APQP; they usually require multiple uses during the project implementation time, which depends on the specificity of a particular project. Practical implications: The study presents how core quality planning tools are related, proving that they cannot be treated as an individual tool, but only their correct use can protect the project/organisation against nonconformities or misunderstandings between the supplier and the customer. Originality/value: The study's originality and novelty show the relations and dependence between APQP phases and core quality tools/evidence developed in the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), according to PPAP level 3. The article presents a practical approach to the use or multiuse of particular core quality planning tools according to APQP phases.

    Purpose: The issue of quality culture is a topical one, whilst contemporary socio-economic conditions set new requirements for it, including a systemic approach based on the requirements of management standards, which have prompted us to analyze this approach to the subject. Design/methodology/approach: The article presents an in-depth analysis of sourced texts compiled with the requirements of ISO 9004. Findings: The paper specifies the postulates resulting from the analysis of the issue, which, in the opinion of the authors, indicate the most important aspects related to building a quality culture in organizations. Practical implications: The analysis of the issue presented in the article indicates its topicality and importance in the improvement of each organization, indicating the need to implement the activities described in the article into management practice. Originality/value: The presented analysis of the issue indicates the most important contemporary problems for the authors related to building a quality culture. The article contains a model of building a quality culture based on activities shaping the awareness of employees in organizations with an implemented management system.

    The aim of this article is to show the use of the analysis of the failure causes and effects as a prevention tool in controlling the quality of a given production process in the company. The scope of the work covers an analysis of a selected process, definition of inconsistencies present in this process, and then the FMEA analysis. In the production company one should implement thinking and actions based on the so-called ‘quality loop’ – it is an interdependence model of the undertaken actions which affect the quality shaping. It is carried out from the possibility for identifying a customer’s requirements through a project, production process, up to the assessment of effective capability for meeting the defined requirements. The application of such an approach enables to take the actions improving the operation of quality management in a systemic way.

Nowoczesne metody prowadzenia zajęć są często w opiniach studentów bardziej angażujące oraz zachęcające do intensywniejszego wysiłku intelektualnego. Wprowadzenie ich do edukacji akademickiej może przyczynić się do stworzenia lepszych warunków do kształcenia umiejętności poszukiwanych przez współczesnych pracodawców. Niniejszy pogląd zostanie wsparty empirycznie opiniami studentów Uniwersytetu Medycznego w Poznaniu i Politechniki Gdańskiej.
    Different factors have an impact on the effectiveness of the educational process in new learning and teaching environments. Both multimedia resources and interactive activities result in raising efficiency, productivity, engagement, commitment and especially the satisfaction of the students participating in various e-learning, blended learning and webenhanced programmes. Innovative classes structured around new pedagogical practices provide all the participants, both the teacher and their students, with a variety of challenges, which can have either positive or negative outcomes. New delivery methods are often viewed by the learners as more engaging and stimulating to intellectual curiosity, activity and effort. Their inclusion in academic education can give rise to better possibilities of creating more versatile programmes that target the needs of digital natives, whose hard and soft skills developed through learning in an online environment help them function effectively in the work context. The ideas presented above will be supported by students’ opinions and attitudes expressed in the latest surveys conducted at Poznan University of Medical Sciences and Gdansk University of Technology.

Zaproponowano ogólny model systemowego ujęcie doskonalenia procesu i produktu z wykorzystaniem wskazanych w opracowaniu metod i narzędzi zarządzania jakością.
    The elaboration concerns the analysis of the issue of process and product improvement, taking into account the quality management methods and tools commonly used in industrial practice and required by the industrial standards. The quality management methods and tools which are most commonly used in practice were indicated, taking into account their correlation and significance for effective improvement process as part of the systemic approach to quality management. A general model of systemic approach to process and product improvement with the use of the quality management methods and tools indicated in the elaboration was proposed.

    Purpose: The conducted tests were aimed at determining whether the tested material meets the requirements for wear resistance in modern turbocharged combustion engines where there is an increased temperature and higher pressure. Design/methodology/approach: The tests were performed in a pin-on-disc system, according to the ASTM G 99 standard. Findings: The article presents the results of the coefficient of friction, the amount of wear, chemical analysis and surface profile of the tested material A390.0 in combination with EN GJL-350 cast iron. Research limitations/implications: The tested materials are used in the construction of pistons for internal combustion engines, therefore the test parameters were selected to take into account the operating conditions in a turbocharged engine with a power of up to 100 kW. Practical implications: After analysing the properties of the A390.0 alloy at elevated temperatures, it was found that without additional modifications, the alloy cannot be used in modern combustion engines, in particular with turbocharging. Originality/value: Presents the results of research concerning mechanical properties (HB, HV, Rm) and yield properties (R0.2, A5, Z) of the examined alloy.

    Opis:
    Alveococcosis in humans is characterized by a tumor-like growth with a tendency to infiltration of neighbouring organs or metastases formation in the lungs and brain. The study aimed to improve on the clinical evaluation of patients with alveolar echinococcosis (AE) and to determine the risk of metacestode spreading to adjacent tissues or distant organs by a detection of adhesion molecules involved in the tumorigenesis process. Serum concentrations of sPECAM-1, sVCAM-1 and sE-selectin adhesion molecules were studied in 8 AE patients in comparison to 75 cases with malignant neoplasms, including cases with tumors of hepatic and extra-hepatic location. The adhesion molecules were found to be early predictive markers of the active, tissue infiltrated alveococcosis with the risk of parasite spreading through the circulation. High serum levels of soluble PECAM-1 molecule were strongly related to the advanced, progressive disease and the fatality of patients’ clinical prognosis.

    The incidence of non-specific reactions with Em2?" E. multilocularis antigen in patients with liver malignancies, and the risk of a supradiagnosis of alveolar echinococcosis (AE) in space-occupying lesions in the liver due to neoplastic proliferative diseases were studied. Analysis of specific IgG serum antibody against Em2?" antigenic complex was performed in 11 AE patients in comparison to 76 individuals with malignant neoplasms of abdominal or extra-hepatic location, including some patients with primary hepatocellular cancer or distant metastases to liver, and 42 patients with benign hepatic lesions. Only one false borderline result was reported in a case with colorectal cancer, and dissemination to liver. Low risk of false positive results with E. multilocularis-specific Em2"* antigen in patients with liver malignancies makes the test valuable for practical reasons in a differential diagnosis of irregular tumor masses visualized by imaging techniques.

    The effect of laser surface treatment on structure and mechanical properties aluminium Alloy enac-AlMg9 In this work, the influence of a high power diode laser surface treatment on the structure and properties of aluminium alloy has been determined. The aim of this study was to improve the mechanical and tribological properties of the surface layer of the aluminium alloy by simultaneously melting and feeding tungsten carbide particles into the molten pool. During the process was used high-power diode laser HPDL. In order to remelt the aluminium alloy surface the HPDL laser of 1.8, 2.0 and 2.2 kW laser beam power has been used. The linear laser scan rate of the beam was set 0.5 em's. In order to protect the liquid metal during laser treatment was used argon. As a base material was used aluminium alloy ENAC -AlMg9. To improve the surface mechanical and wear properties of the applied aluminium alloy was used biphasic tungsten carbide WC/W2C. The size of alloying powder was in the range 110-210 μm. The ceramic powder was introduced in the remelting zone by a gravity feeder at a constant rate of 8 g/m.

    Opis:
    Erysiphe alphitoides causes the most common disease of assimilation apparatus of oaks of different age. It is believed that the pathogen overwinters in buds of the host plant or in the cracks of the bark. The aim of the study was to search for the presence of E. alphitoides in buds, leaves, and wood of sessile oak shoots using molecular techniques. Two hypotheses have been tested: (i) oaks are infected by E. alphitoides, and (ii) the pathogen overwinters in the host plant buds. The samples used in the study were collected form sessile oak trees (Miradz Forest District; 52°41'23.197'N, 18°25'33.942'E) in 2017, and consisted of dormant buds (collected in May), young leaves (collected in June), leaves with visible symptoms of the disease (collected in August), shoot with sip and surface layers of wood (collected in December). Additional part of buds was collected in May 2018. The PCR reaction was carried out with primers specific for E. alphitoides and E. hypophylla. For species identification Sanger method was used. The resulting sequences were compared using BLAST algorithm with reference sequences deposited in the NCBI database. Sequences from isolates obtained from leaves showed 97−99% similarity to the reference sequence of E. alphitoides. Pathogen did not occur in the superficial layers of shoots and buds. As some studies show, at very low temperatures (below –20°C), the mycelium of the pathogen dies, therefore further study should be undertaken on wintering of the pathogen causing the powdery mildew disease on oaks. It also should be examined whether the pathogen overwinters in the form of bagnial spores produced in chasmothecia overwintering on leaves, in the leaf buds, or in bark cracks, and whether the wintering site of the pathogen is related to the age of trees and or to the stands where the trees grow.

    This paper presents a new biomimetic approach to the structural design. For the purpose of aircraft wing design the numerical environment combining simultaneous structural size, shape, and topology optimization based on aeroelastic analysis was developed. For the design of aircraft elements the optimization process must be treated as a multi-load case task, because during the fluid structure interaction analysis each step represents a different structural load case. Also, considering different angles of attack, during the CFD computation each result is considered. The method-specific features (such as domain independence, functional configurations during the process of optimization, and multiple load case solution implemented in the optimization scenario) enable the optimal structural form. To illustrate the algorithm functionality, the problem of determining the optimal internal wing structure was presented. The optimal internal wing structure resulting from aeroelastic computation with different angles of attack has been presented.

    In this paper fluid-structure interaction, taking into account the nonlinearity of structural models, is concerned. Aeroelastic simulation of model aircraft based on GVT model configuration presents the capability of used numerical codes to analyze large-scale complex geometries. All computations were carried out in parallel environment for CFD mesh of order of millions tetrahedral elements.

    Studies were carried out on the effect of chloride of N-dodecyl-betaine 2-chloroethyl-ester (BE V-B), and chloride of betaine 2-chloroethyl-ester (BE V-B), added to liposomes formed of egg yolk lecithin, on the order parameter of a spin probe incorporated in the temperature range 2-50 °C. The BE’s used here modified ESR spectra to various degrees and lowered the order parameter of the spin probe. At temperatures lower than 20 °C compound V-B caused smaller changes in the order parameter than V-A, whereas above that temperature it caused greater changes. The ESR spectra of liposomes containing BE's exhibited splitting into two components that corresponded to different order parameter values. The molecular mechanism of interaction between the compounds studied and liposomes is disscused.
    Przeprowadzono badania nad wpływem chlorku (N-dodecylo-betaina 2-chloroetyl-ester) (BE V-A) i chlorku (betaina 2-chloroetyl-ester) (BE V-B) dodanych do liposomów otrzymanych z lecytyny żółtka jaja kurzego, na parametr uporządkowania spinów sondy (BE) wprowadzonej w zakresie temperatur 2-20ºC. BE użyte tutaj jako sonda modyfikuje spektrum ESR w różnym stopniu i obniża parametr uporządkowania spinów sondy. W temperaturach niższych od 20ºC związek V-B powodował mniejsze zmiany w parametrze uporządkowania aniżeli związek V-A, chociaż dla temperatur wyższych od 20ºC powodował on zmiany większe. Spektrum ESR liposomów zawierających (BE) wykazały rozdzielenie na dwa składniki odpowiednio związane z różnymi parametrami uporządkowania spinów. W pracy przedstawiono molekularny mechanizm współzależności pomiędzy badanymi związkami a liposomami.

    Artykuł przedstawia proces generacji modelu strukturalnego zbudowanego z prostych elementów belkowych oraz elementów masowych, o możliwie najprostszej budowie. Wirtualny model był tworzony na podstawie rzeczywistego modelu samolotu do badań flatterowych, znajdującego się w Instytucie Lotnictwa w Warszawie. Obiekt ten wykonany został w skali 1:4 i posiadał własności masowe, sprężyste i tłumienie odpowiadające rzeczywistemu samolotowi. Istotne było uzyskanie modelu, który dokładnie odwzorowywał geometrię i własności mechaniczne modelu flatterowego. Numeryczny model obliczeniowy tworzono w programie FEMAP, na podstawie pomocniczego modelu bryłowego utworzonego w programie SolidWorks. Dla opracowanego modelu strukturalnego przeprowadzono następnie analizę modalną i wyznaczono postacie i częstości drgań własnych. Symulacja ta, przeprowadzona przy pomocy solwera MSC/Nastran, miała na celu przygotowanie danych do numerycznych obliczeń aerosprężystych, a także do walidacji otrzymanego modelu z wynikami eksperymentalnymi.
    The article presents the design process of structural model, made of simple beam and mass elements, of the simplest possible construction. Virtual model is based on the flutter model located in Institute of Aviation, Warsaw. This object has been made in 1:4 scale and it has mass, stiffness and damping properties corresponding to the airplane. The main point of the task was to obtain virtual model which accurately represent geometry and mechanical properties of flutter model. The computational stick model has been generated in FEMAP application, basing on the solid model generated in SolidWorks. The modal analysis in MSC/Nastran has been performed to obtain eigenvalues and eigenmodes for the prepared model. This simulation targets further aeroelastic analysis and the validation of numerical model with the experimental data.

    We study theoretically the process of a weak measurement of charge states in a double quantum dot performed by coupling to a quantum point contact. We focus on the interplay of the measurement process with phonon-induced dephasing of delocalized superpositions of electron states and compare the time scales relevant for the dynamics of the open system and for the measurement process: the decoherence rate, the localization rate of the state conditioned on the measurement outcome and the time scale on which information on the system state is gained in the process of the measurement.

    Bladder cancer (BCa) and prostate cancer (PCa) are genitourinary cancers which constitute significant health problems in men and in which environmental factors play an important role. Understanding the genetic susceptibility to BCa or PCa and occupational exposure is paramount to improving cancer prevention and early detection. The aim of this review article was to address the scientific evidence on the genetic risk factors and occupational exposure associated with the occurrence of BCa and PCa. The authors identified relevant original articles that have been published between 1994 and 2023. Variations of the following search terms: “gene” and “occupational” combined with one of the following terms: “bladder cancer” or “prostate cancer” were applied for the search purpose. The authors found 342 publications of which 50 population studies met their requirements for gene-occupation interactions. In total, 34 full-text manuscripts were about BCa and 16 about PCa. These research examines the genes involved in detoxification processes of xenobiotics (glutathione S-transferase, N-acetyltransferase, cytochrome P450, UDP-glucuronosyltransferase), oxidative stress (glutathione peroxidase 1, manganese superoxide dismutase, catalase), altering DNA repair capacity (X-ray repair cross-complementing 1, base excision repair, nucleotide excision repair), tumour suppression (TP53 gene), and vitamin D pathway (vitamin D receptor gene). The role of genetic factors in the occupational exposure has not been conclusively established, but it appears the possibility of genetic involvement. Determination of environmentally responsive genes provides important mechanistic implications for the etiology of occupational cancers, and valuable input in occupational exposure limits set by taking genetic susceptibility into account.
