The first part of the paper presents a method of assessing impact of a motorway on arable lands, which can be used as a tool for estimation of losses resulting from a motorway’s construction. The method of simplified assessment of impact of linear investments on the spatial structure of arable lands is analysed in detail. The losses were determined in a detailed analysis of variations in land use, soil quality class, layout of access roads leading to lands situated along the axis of a planned motorway. The accepted measure of multidirectional impact of a motorway on arable lands is expressed in change of lands’ value. This method can be applied as a tool for selection of optimal motorway route and its preparation for buying or exchange of part of lands designated for investment.
W pierwszej części pracy prezentowana jest metoda oceny oddziaływania autostrady na grunty rolne, która umożliwia szacowanie strat. W szczegółowy sposób analizowana jest metodyka uproszczonej oceny oddziaływania inwestycji liniowych na strukturę przestrzenną gruntów rolnych. Podstawą dla ustalenia strat jest szczegółowa analiza zmienności użytkowania gruntów, klas bonitacyjnych oraz rozmieszczenia dróg dojazdowych do gruntów, położonych wzdłuż osi projektowanej autostrady. Przyjętą miarą wielokierunkowego oddziaływania autostrady na grunty rolne jest zmiana wartości gruntów, przy której wyznaczeniu uwzględniono zróżnicowanie ich przydatności do produkcji rolniczej. Metoda ta może mieć zastosowanie, jako narzędzie do wyboru optymalnego przebiegu autostrady i jej przygotowania do wykupu lub zamiany części gruntów, przeznaczonych pod inwestycję.

The second part of the paper analyses the method of assessing impact of motorways on arable lands, proposed in the first part. The method can be used to determine all the losses resulting from different directions of this impact. The losses are determined in an analysis of variations in land use, soil quality class, layout of access roads leading to lands situated along the axis of a planned motorway. The method is especially useful at the initial planning of a motorway or at evaluation of its routes’ variants, because it is simple and helps to determine a negative impact of a motorway on arable lands with adequate accuracy. The impact of a motorway on arable lands is exemplified by a Tarnów – Rzeszów section of an existing A4 motorway. The section is 7.136 km long and it runs through Borowa, Wewiórka and Góra Motyczna villages. The outcomes were compared with an alternative variant of the motorway’s route in this section.
W drugiej części pracy analizami objęta jest opracowana nowa metoda szacowania oddziaływania autostrady na grunty rolne. Pozwala ona na określenie wszystkich strat związanych z kierunkami tego oddziaływania. Podstawą dla ustalenia strat jest analiza zmienności użytkowania gruntów i klas bonitacyjnych oraz rozmieszczenia dróg dojazdowych do gruntów, wzdłuż osi projektowanej autostrady. Metoda ta jest szczególnie przydatna podczas opracowywania wstępnego projektu autostrady lub też oceny rozpatrywanych wariantów jej przebiegu, ponieważ stosowanie uproszczonej metody pozwalana określenie niekorzystnego wpływu autostrady na grunty rolne znacznie mniejszym nakładem pracy, przy zachowaniu wymaganej dokładności. W artykule przedstawiono oddziaływania autostrady na grunty rolne na przykładzie istniejącego już odcinka autostrady A–4 na odcinku Tarnów-Rzeszów o długości 7,136 km biegnącego przez wsie Borowa, Wiewiórka oraz Góra Motyczna, a następnie wyniki porównano z wersją alternatywną przebiegu autostrady na tym odcinku.

Specific features of air weapons, dynamic examinations as an important component of the investigation process, examples of data recorders for parameters of the combat mean under test, telecommunication system for on-line data transmission with the assumption that the system should be composed of components and subassemblies that are commercially available from the market, system for RF transmission of flight parameters in the real time mode are presented in the paper. The system is made up of a transmitter and rpm sensors embedded into the head of the S-7 uncontrolled missile. Signals from the telecommunication module are received and decoded by means of a transducer with the sensitivity of about 2PV and stored in the memory of the TDS 3020 digital oscilloscope from Tektronix as well as in a four-channel digital recorder. The data acquisition system is triggered at the moment when the transmitter installed on the missile head was switched on. The missile was launched several seconds later. The paper includes among others workflow for examination of combat means, composition of measuring instruments for flight tests, data recorders for flight parameters installed on avionic bombs, signal waveforms recorded from rotation sensors and rotation speed variations for the S-7 missile during the flight

The paper has been intended to discuss some issues closely related to the elimination of an extremely disadvantageous phenomenon, i.e. the occurrence of a negative oxygen balance in products of combustion emitted by a solid-fuel rocket engine while launching a missile from the aircraft. W artykule zaprezentowano nową koncepcję układu detekcji w czasie rzeczywistym zespołu QRS z przebiegu elektrokardiograficzngo. W detektorze wykorzystano programowalną matrycę analogową AN221E04 firmy Anadigm. Parametry wybranych bloków są na bieżąco zmieniane w zależności od zmian parametrów przebiegu EKG dzięki dynamicznej rekonfigurowalności układu. Uzyskano bardzo krótki czas reakcji detektora na wykryty zespół QRS przy zadowalającej skuteczności detekcji. Opracowany detektor może znaleźć zastosowanie w aplikacjach biomedycznych wymagających wykrywania zespołu QRS w przebiegu EKG z małym opóźnieniem czasowym.
In many applications it is important to detect the QRS complex in the ECG waveform with possibly low time delay. Traditional software detectors of the QRS complex implement algorithms, usually based on cascades of digital filters, introduce delays up to parts of a second. Hardware QRS detectors (Fig. 1) fulfill the low delay requirements, but have worse adaptive features for the changing ECG shape. In this paper a new approach to QRS detection is presented. The proposed solution implements a classical detector structure in a Field Programmable Analog Array (FPAA) i.e. AN221E04 circuit from the AnadigmŽ company - Fig. 3. The most interesting feature of the FPAA is the dynamic reconfigurability. This solution makes it possible to modify the parameters of particular blocks of the detector or even the whole structure during runtime, without any changes in hardware and disturbance of the system functionality. Important parameters of particular blocks of the QRS detector are modified on-the-fly according to changes observed in the ECG signal. New data are calculated by the AD7020 microcontroller and downloaded to the FPAA using dynamic reconfigurability after each QRS detection. The prototype QRS detector was tested using a real ECG signal taken from Mit-Bih Arrythmia Database. The results obtained in the prototype circuit (Table 1) show that the detection delay is really small. The error rate of the QRS detection is low and can be acceptable in most real time applications.

Some medical devices such as mechanical circulatory support systems and defibrillators require synchronization with the appropriate phase of the cardiac cycle of the patient. This paper presents a description of the electrocardiographic (ECG) signal amplifier and QRS detector designed for use with such devices. The detector system was built using a programmable analog array AN231E04 and the ECG amplifier with an analog-digital (A/D) converter based on a programmable circuit (front-end) ADS129x. By using the programmable elements and exploiting the potential of dynamic analog matrix reconfiguration, the presented detector achieved the desired features, such as low latency of QRS detection, automatic gain control and the ability to change the time constant by software. High-resolution of the A/D converter in the ADS1298x and the possibility of programming the gain of the amplifier allow the acquisition of the ECG signal acquired from different types of electrodes: disposable standard, epicardial or endocavitary. The tests of the prototype system proved that it is highly effective for the detection of QRS complexes in ECG waveforms recorded from all kinds of electrodes.

The primary objective was to test a usefulness of the specific fixed-effect model for the analysis of quantitative relationships gathered from the image analysis of the material microstructures. The dataset was obtained from the investigation of turbine blades made from superalloy IN713C. The analysis based on the general linear model resulted in informative plots revealing mutual relationships between secondary dendrite arm spacing and the mean plane section area of carbides in the material. Directions for further research also were obtained.

The study describes the influence of a surface modification in cored, thin-walled castings of blades from IN-713C nickel superalloy on γ' phase precipitates. The blades were produced by using the investment casting process in the laboratory conditions as parts for a low-pressure turbine rotor. The microstructural observations of the γ' phase precipitates on the cross sections of the blades were performed. The observations were followed by quantitative metallography evaluation, and finally, a comparison of the precipitates between one blade with the conventionally applied ceramic core and one with the core covered layer contained a surface modifier (5% of CoAl2O4) was made.

In the study the wall thickness of ceramic shell mould influence on (γ + γ') eutectic in the IN713C nickel-based superalloy airfoil blade casting was described. Two castings formed as a blade from two wax pattern assemblies were analysed. In the experiment in one pattern the thick ceramic layer was obtained on pressure side and in another one on suction side of the airfoil blade. The microstructure of the crosssections of the castings were observed on polished and etched metallographic specimens. The microstructure and phases chemical compositions of specimens was analyzed by using the scanning electron microscope Hitachi S-4200 equipped with EDS. It was established, that wall thickness of ceramic shell mould affect size, shape and volume fraction of (γ + γ') eutectic islands in airfoil blade made from IN713C superalloy. The analysis was provided in accordance to the typical statistical methodology [1].

In some applications it is important to detect the QRS complex in the ECG waveform with possibly low time delay. Traditional software detectors of the QRS complex implement algorithms usually based on cascades of digital filters that introduce delays up to parts of a second. On the other hand, hardware QRS detectors fulfil the low delay requirements, but have worse adaptive features for the changing ECG shape. In this paper a new approach to QRS detection is presented. The proposed detector is based on a Field Programmable Analog Array (FPAA). This solution makes it possible to modify the parameters of particular blocks of the detector or even the whole structure without any changes in hardware, while the processing path is fully analog and does not introduce an additional delay. The most interesting feature of the FPAA is the dynamic reconfigurability. The parameters can be changed during runtime without any reset of the circuit or any other disturbances of the system functionality. The prototype QRS detector was built using the AN221E04 circuit from the Anadigm company.

This paper presents theoretical model dedicated to a guided bomb. A mathematical description of the six-degrees-of-freedom motion of the bomb is shown. Particular attention was paid on aerodynamic forces and moments generated by additional control fins mounted on the front part of the bomb. Exemplary results of a numerical simulation of bombing are submitted and conclusions focused on the possibility of flightpath control are formulated. The paper concerns on the equations of bomb spatial motion and kinematic relations expressed making use of moving coordinate systems, the common origin of which is located at the centre of mass of the bomb. The set of equations of the rotating motion about the centre of mass in the body-fixed reference frame is presented. Aerodynamic forces and moments acting on the bomb are described. Coefficients are determined using the PRODAS software with detailed geometry of the LB-10M bomb. The coefficients were determined for different Mach numbers from 0.4 to 0.8. The important task was research investigations of aerodynamic characteristics with a wind tunnel and a set of experiments in real bombing conditions.

The article presents the results of numerical simulation of a laser-guided bomb, which is dropped in calm weather conditions. The prototype of such a bomb was developed at the Air Force Institute of Technology. It was a result of the modification process of the classical training bomb. The modification consisted of building on the bomb's board a detection system to track targets that are designated by laser and a control system to adjust bomb’s glide path to precisely strike the target. In the simulation research, geometric and mass characteristics of the classical training bomb were used. Aerodynamic characteristics of the bomb have been determined using commercial software PRODAS. Using the mathematical model of the bomb spatial motion and model of the laser detection system series of simulations were performed. The main goal was to determine the effectiveness of the adopted construction solution. Therefore, simulations were performed for various initial positions of the bomb and fixed position of the target. It allowed finding the set of control laws coefficients giving the most accuracy of the bomb. The influence of structural modifications of the detection system on the possibility of effective detection and location of the target was also investigated. In the article, exemplary results of numerical calculations performed with the author's software are also shown.

Introduction. Nicotine is an alkaloid that affects the functioning of the central nervous system and produces dependence. In low doses, it acts as a stimulant and relaxant. Nicotine was reported to have pro-cognitive effects in humans and animals. However, high doses of nicotine are harmful for many organs.The aim of the study was to check whether a 30-day exposure to transdermal nicotine affects memory and biochemical parameters in mice. Materials and method. A total of 32 mice (16 males and 16 females) were used in the experiment. Mice were divided into 4 groups of 8 animals each: I control-females receiving placebo patches for 30 days, II females receiving nicotine patches for 30 days, III control-males receiving placebo patches, IV males receiving nicotine patches. Spontaneous alternation and locomotor activity were examined weekly in a Y-maze. Body mass was recorded daily. On day 30, venous blood samples were obtained and the animals were anaesthetized with CO2. Their blood was used to measure alanine transaminase (ALT), asparagine transaminase (AST), cholesterol, creatinine and glycosylated haemoglobin (HbA1C). Results. Nicotine significantly improved memory in male mice on day 8. It increased ALT and AST activities in males and females, as well as the concentration of cholesterol in their blood sera. Conclusions. In conclusion, transdermal nicotine may produce transient improvement in fresh spatial memory in male mice, but it is not a long-term effect and therefore nicotine does not seem to be appropriate for use in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders. It elevates blood cholesterol level and thus may increase the risk of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular events; moreover, it negatively affects liver enzymes. Nicotine use is therefore not recommended.

The paper described properties of electro-spark deposited coatings under influence of the laser treatment process. The properties were assessed by analyzing the coating microstructure, X-ray radiation, microhardness, bonding strength, corrosion resistance, porosity and wear tests. The tests were conducted for Mo and Cu coatings (the anode) which were electro-spark deposited over the C45 steel substrate (the cathode) and melted with a laser beam. The coatings were deposited by means of an ELFA-541. The laser processing was performed with an Nd:YAG laser. The coatings after laser processing are still distinguished by very good performance properties, which make them suitable for use in sliding friction pairs.
