Opis:
An original method of ERP in SME implementation efficiency assessment (EWE) is developed. It consists of 5 elements, that is: (1) ERP system parameters, (2) SME company parameters, (3) an SME experience which proceeded the ERP project, (4) functionality indicators values, (5) an algorithm that enables ERP and SME characteristics binding – a GMDH algorithm. The application of this method allows predicting economical effects as far as the implementation of ERP is concerned, taking into consideration efficiency indicators in the analyzed company. On the basis of the EWE method, a decision model for ERP efficiency implementation has been developed.

This paper presents ERP class system objective assessment method when using the neural systems GMDH basing on the Ivachnienko algorithm. An approach to ERPs evaluation aimed at their successful implementation into a class of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is considered. The set of performance indices supporting an ERP evaluation in the context of its implementation into a given SME is proposed. Consequently the decision model binding the selected indicators of effectiveness of SME implementation with the parameters of a given ERP system and the parameters of the company as such, which introduced this system is discussed.

Nowadays enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems are worldwide a standard solution implemented in a great number of manufacturing companies worldwide. The implementation of an ERP system is performed to integrate business processes, allocate company’s resources efficiently and provide important data for decision support. Implementing an ERP system is expensive and time-consuming. Therefore a great number of research activities are focused on key success factors of ERP implementations. But what does a successful implementation of ERP system mean? If an ERP project was completed according to the schedule, the budget was not exceeded and the scope was realized, it means that the implementation was successful? Implementation of an ERP system is a long-term undertaking, and not only a short-term project that is finished just after the system installation. Especially for a project driven enterprise that realizes engineer-to-order production, the evaluation should encompass a long period of time. In the article a methodology based on ERP data analysis and end users’ satisfaction is proposed. This research is based on a real data, extracted from ERP system of a polish company that realizes prototyping production in the area of machine tools construction.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) are nowadays a software packages that can support all business activities of enterprises [1], [8], [10], [11]. The production enterprises often implement an ERP systems to improve important functions in such functional areas as sales, product design and technology, material management, purchasing or production planning. Absolute majority of them implement ERP in administration areas such as human resource, controlling, financial accounting or capital assets. The implementation of ERP is expensive and time-consuming process that often can fall flat. The enterprises that successfully implemented ERP don’t want to change the system long time to unique disturbances. But employers of the enterprise realize only the transactions in ERP that are necessary for property workflows and managers analysis. The lack of important data in the ERP system can result with impossibility of strategic analyses performance [12], [14], [16]. In the situation ERP can not support strategic decisions of managers too. In the paper an ERP evaluation method based on data analysis is proposed. The authors of the article claim that value of ERP system is consist of two important components: possibility for improving of critical business processes and possibility for critical decision support. The model of ERP evaluation system for project driven enterprise is proposed. The illustrative examples are given.

This paper systematically examines the role of knowledge workers on the level of innovation development in Poland. Specific hypotheses on the importance of the collaboration of knowledge workers for the growth of national innovation in two areas: knowledge creation and knowledge exploitation are examined. The study is based on a survey and interviews with 40 IT workers in small Polish businesses. The results show that cooperation between knowledge workers enables an improvement in the amount of human resources in science and technology and an increase in the number of high- and medium-tech Polish manufacturing enterprises. Specifically, the results confirm the hypothesis that the greater the amount of collaboration between knowledge workers, the higher the level of national innovation measured in these two indicators.

This study analyzes the interplay between the characteristics of business strategy implementations and their interaction with different types of knowledge in the manufacturing enterprise. It is based on a survey and data obtained from 119 Polish manufacturing enterprises. This study is innovative in applying the Group Method of Data Handling to the business context. This article develops a framework of achieving the strategy’s goals in terms of the types of knowledge acquisition in a manufacturing company, and further discusses the research results.

W artykule podjęto próbę określenia roli systemów informatycznych klasy ERP w procesie zarządzania kapitałem intelektualnym. Ściśle określono funkcję użyteczności personalnej w MSP, a następnie pokazano proces zarządzania tak zdefiniowaną wiedzą. Sformułowano, na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań, proces zarządzania kapitałem intelektualnym w przedsiębiorstwach sektora MSP, na podstawie danych z systemów ERP.
It this paper the role of ERP system in the intellectual capital management process is presented. The personnel usefulness function for the m-th employee in the n-th functionality area in the SMEs is strictly described. Based on the research result, the intellectual capital management process in SMEs using the data from ERP system is formulated.

The strategic management of intellectual capital involves rethinking how the companies creates value from a knowledge-centric perspective and redesigning and orchestrating the role of staff knowledge in the firm's strategy. This paper presents the author's software system for facilitating decision making at a strategic level in terms of the profitability of investment in staff knowledge. This software is a computer implementation of the method for planning and selection of personnel in SME.
Strategiczne zarządzanie kapitałem intelektualnym w przedsiębiorstwach, w szczególności w sektorze MSP, wymaga właściwego postrzegania wartości wiedzy oraz pracowników wiedzy. W artykule przedstawiono autorski system informatyczny wspomagający podejmowanie decyzji w zakresie planowania i doboru personelu w MSP. System ten stanowi implementację autorskiej metody planowania i doboru personelu w MSP.

Knowledge in the paper is understood as improving qualifications and skills among employees in SMEs. This paper presents the matrix of indicators enabling to assess knowledge in SME. Factor influencing the development of the intellectual capital in the SME (the value personnel usefulness function) was defined. Methods of evaluating profitability of investments in the intellectual capital, known from the subject literature, were demonstrated. Opis:
Knowledge, skills and intangibles have now a decisive role in building a competitive advantage of company [20]. For enterprises of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), consistent with the author's developed reference SME model, proposed a personnel usefulness function, that allows to determine the value of knowledge in the enterprise. This paper presents selected results of research focused on the level of innovations of the SME sector. Consequently a set of indicators, that describe innovative company and the procedure of strategic managing intellectual capital in an innovative SME were formulated. Use of the presented procedure could be a guarantee of achieving the assumed level of innovation in the enterprise.

W artykule podjęto próbę zbudowania modelu klasyfikacji wiedzy w przedsiębiorstwie produkcyjnym w oparciu o algorytm Bayes’a. Pozyskiwanie, gromadzenie i przechowywanie danych i informacji działu obsługi serwisowej, możliwe jest za pomocą autorskiej aplikacji, której struktura została również przedstawiona w niniejszym artykule. Na podstawie danych i informacji zawartych w zgłoszeniach serwisowych, rejestrowanych w aplikacji, możliwe jest generowanie zdefiniowanej wiedzy. W konsekwencji, proponowany model klasyfikacji wiedzy, przy zastosowaniu algorytmu Bayes’a, daje możliwość zbudowania zbiorów użytecznej wiedzy.
This article elaborates a model of knowledge classification using a Bayesian algorithm in a manufacturing company. Further was illustrated an application, that enables you to collect, search and analyze data and information from a service department. Based on the data and information registered in the application, it is possible to generate a defined knowledge. Consequently, the proposed model for the classification of knowledge, using a Bayesian algorithm gives the opportunity to build the sets of useful knowledge.

The paper presents the results of survey research of 300 Polish small and medium enterprises. The project "The prototype of e-business service platform" was realized in cooperation with MaxElectronik company as a part of “Initech” Ministry of Science and Higher Education and founded by the National Centre for Research and Development based on the contract ZPB/8/67012/IT2/10. The research was focused on the identification of business process automation level. To analyze the automation level, the following business processes are identified: sales process, logistic process, human resource management process, financial management process. The main goal of the research was analyze of possibilities time reduction of the processes by implementation SAAS system (software as a service) in the enterprise. In the article only a part of the research is presented that is concerned with the automation of logistic process in small and medium enterprises.
Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań ankietowych 300 małych i średnich polskich przedsiębiorstw. Badania były realizowane w ramach projektu "Prototyp Platformy Usług e-Biznesowych" realizowanym w ramach Przedsięwzięcia Ministra Nauki i Szkolnictwa Wyższego "IniTech", finansowanym przez Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju w ramach umowy ZPB/8/67012/IT2/10 we współpracy z firmą Max Elektronik SA. Badania obejmowały między innymi analizę procesów w obszarze finansów, sprzedaży, logistyki, zarządzania personelem, opracowanie modeli procesów biznesowych dedykowanych sektorowi MŚP, analizy ilościowe stopnia automatyzacji oraz zapotrzebowania na automatyzację procesów biznesowych. W artykule przedstawiono część wyników badań dotyczących możliwości automatyzacji operacji procesu logistycznego realizowanego w przedsiębiorstwach sektora MSP.

Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) still treat expenditure on the purchase of the knowledge management (KM) tools as an expense and not in the category of investment. It seems that in order to motivate an SME to implement a KM tool to support it should be shown the advantages and disadvantages benefits of such activities. In this paper, the authors provide a practical approach for measuring the contributions and impacts of the use of a KM tool in a SME.
Małe i średnie przedsiębiorstwa (MSP) ciągle postrzegają zakup narzędzi wspomagających zarządzanie wiedzą w kategorii wydatków, a nie inwestycji. W artykule autorzy podjęli próbę pomiaru korzyści wynikających z wdrożenia takich narzędzi na przykładzie przedsiębiorstwa sektora MSP. Zaproponowano wskaźniki pomiaru tych korzyści oraz pokazano wyniki przeprowadzonych analiz.

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is a computer-based information system for enterprise integration. ERP integrates information from all functional areas of enterprise to support management processes. The implementation of ERP is an expensive and time-consuming process but for contemporary enterprises it is a necessity. The effective enterprise management is impossible without on-line information about business processes executed in all functional areas. The ERP implementation involves a strategic decision that influences enterprise development for many years. Thus, ERP systems should evolve together with enterprises. The paper proposes a benchmarking methodology that enables evaluating the implementation of an ERP system in three manufacturing companies focused on make to-order production. The enterprises make small series or single prototype production. The research is based on benchmarking of the enterprises that implemented ERP systems in the past years. It involves comparison of the most important financial ratios and statistical data extracted from the ERP system. Results of data analysis are a basis for a proposed procedure of ERP evaluation. The procedure enables not only evaluating the ERP system implementation but also determining functional areas that require support, changing business processes or functionality of ERP. The proposed benchmarking methodology presents how much the ERP system is adapted to enterprise requirements. Examples presented are based on a case study of Polish enterprises.
