    The purpose of this article is to present the state of information technology in urban development. This is the result of a study of cities and city offices on the relationship between information technology and the state of Smart City development. At the beginning of this article the state of cities on the way to Smart Cities was presented. Then, the process of transforming cities into Smart Cities was discussed and the state of Smart Cities technology was described. Because the complexity of technology depends on the maturity of city offices, the relationship between technologies and maturity has been mentioned. Then, services were introduced as a way to decompose the technology. Based on the technologies, services and urban maturity presented, a key question for the development of Smart Cities was asked: how to assess technologies to be useful for the development of Smart Cities?
    Celem niniejszego artykułu jest prezentacja stanu technologii informatycznych w rozwoju miast. Jest to wynik badań miast i urzędów miast nad relacjami między technologiami informatycznymi a stanem rozwoju Smart City. Na początku tego artykułu przedstawiono stan miast w drodze do Smart Cities. Następnie omówiono proces przekształcania miast w Smart Cities oraz opisano stan technologii Smart Cities. Ponieważ złożoność technologii zależy od dojrzałości urzędów miast, wspomniano o relacjach między technologiami a dojrzałością. Następnie wprowadzono usługi jako sposób dekompozycji technologii. W oparciu o zaprezentowane technologie, usługi i dojrzałość miast postawiono kluczowe pytanie dla rozwoju Smart Cities pytanie: jak ocenić technologie aby były one przydatne dla rozwoju Smart Cities?

    W artykule przedstawiono architekturę szyny integracyjnej wykorzystywanej w budowie systemu informatycznego przetwarzającego potężne zasoby danych na potrzeby podejmowania decyzji w Urzędzie Miejskim w Gdańsku. Na wstępie omówiono kluczowe z punktu widzenia wytwarzania szyny procesy: instalacji środowiska wytwarzania, podłączenia bazy danych, opracowania mechanizmów przepływu oraz prezentacji danych. Procesy prezentacji wsparto modelami KPI (ang. key processes identifier) oraz SOP (ang. simple operating procedures) (także podłączonymi do szyny). W podsumowaniu wskazano na problemy budowy szyn integracyjnych, a zwłaszcza procesów: trasowania, konwersji i obsługi zdarzeń.
    This paper presents the architecture of an enterprise service bus used in the construction of information systems processing large amounts of data for decision-making needs at the City Hall in Gdansk. The first part presents the key processes of bus development: installation of developing environment, database connection, flow mechanisms and data presentation. Developing processes were supported by models such as KPI (Key Processes Identifier) and SOP (Simple Operating Procedures) (also connected to the bus). The summary indicates problems in bus construction, especially processes such as routing, conversion, and handling of events.

Budowa ontologii jako narzędzia wspomagającego decyzje była konsekwencją pojawienia się problemu oceny wniosków projektowych zgłaszanych do projektu Inteligentnych Specjalizacji Pomorza Smart Port & City. W artykule przedstawiono etapy budowy ontologii oraz jej zastosowanie do analizy zgodności dokumentów z przyjętymi ramami projektu.
    The aim of this article is to present usefulness of an ontology as a tool to support decisions of steering committees. Construction of the ontology as a decisions’ supporting tool was a consequence of a problem with assessment of project proposals submitted to the Inteligentne Specjalizacje Smart Port & City project. The article presents stages of the construction of the ontology and its use for the analysis of compatibility with the accepted frames of the project.

    The authors of this paper present a simulation of the socio-technical system in which teams of students - regarded as low-maturity organizations - were given a task to utilize the (relatively) mature technologies that support IT project and service management. The experiment consisted of the following phases: teams formation, introduction to technologies used during the simulation, performing a set of reactive and proactive service management tasks.
    W artykule zaprezentowano symulację systemu społeczno-technicznego, w którym zespołom złożonym ze studentów - traktowanym jako organizacje o niskiej dojrzałości - powierzono zadanie wykorzystania stosunkowo dojrzałych technologii wspierających zarządzanie przedsięwzięciami i usługami informatycznymi. Na eksperyment składały się następujące etapy: sformowanie zespołów, wdrożenie ich w technologie użyte w symulacji, wykonanie zestawu działań reaktywnych i proaktywnych z zakresu zarządzania usługami.

    The aim of this paper is to present the quantitative perspective of the agile transformation processes in IT organisations. The phenomenon of agile transformation becomes a complex challenge for an IT organisation since it has not been analysed in detail so far. There is no research on the readiness of IT organisations to realise agile transformation processes. Such processes also prove to have uncontrolled character. Therefore, to minimise the risk of failure referring to the realisation of transformation processes, it is necessary to monitor them. It is also necessary to identify and analyse such processes to ensure their continuous character.

    The aim of this article is to present the project environment for the implementation of an IT system in a district court as well as an analysis of the entities and processes on the basis of which this model was built. It includes all of the identified processes that have been assigned responsible entities and the artifacts arising as a result of these processes. The analysis and identification of the processes, entities, and artifacts was carried out on the basis of the realized project of customizing and implementing an IT system. The customization involves the parameterization and adjustment of a standard solution to the needs of a specific recipient 18; in this case, to the needs of a district court. This case study is part of the research in the area of project management in the common courts for the needs of doctoral dissertations. The methodology of this research is presented in the third chapter.

    The aim of this post-conference report is to present key-issues delivered by participants of the Project and Process Management sessions (PPM) at the 7th International Conference on Engineering, Project, and Production Management (EPPM 2016). EPPM 2016 was held in Bialystok, Poland in 21-23 September. The format of the EPPM 2016 Conference involved a mixture of keynote speeches, individual presentations on topical issues, and extensive panel discussions. It featured 89 papers in five thematic sessions across the two conference days. Over 115 delegates attended EPPM 2016 from more than 20 countries across Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world.

    Sn$\text{}_{0.96}$Gd$\text{}_{0.04}$Te has been studied by means of the resonant photoemission spectroscopy in the constant final states, constant initial states and energy distribution curves modes. In the constant final states spectrum of the well-known giant resonance at the 4d-4f threshold around 150 eV we were able to resolve a peak of the multiplet structure that has not previously been found. Spectra were also taken at the 4p-5d threshold around 280 eV revealing a double structure with antiresonating behaviour.

    The valence band structure E(k) for CdTe (111) Cd side surface 2 x 2 reconstructed was investigated along the Γ-L direction of the bulk Brillouin zone by high-resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy method in the energy range between 9.5 eV and 30.0 eV. The E(k) dependence was determined as well for bulk as for some of the surface states in the whole width of the valence band. Obtained results are compared with available calculated bulk band structure along Γ-L direction.

    We present a new outlook at the study of metal-semiconductor interface formation. A resonant photoemission spectroscopy tuned to the Fe 3p-3d transition (56 eV) was used to investigate the changes after sequential deposition of Fe atoms on freshly cleaved Cd$\text{}_{0.86}$Fe$\text{}_{0.14}$Se crystal surface. In the first stages (0.6-4 ML) of Fe deposition the contribution of Fe 3d electrons to the valence band grows up markedly indicating the increase in Fe content in the Cd$\text{}_{0.86}$Fe$\text{}_{0.14}$Se crystal surface region. When the amount of Fe exceed 40 ML the resonant photoemission spectra became similar to the Fe metal with some contribution of the ternary crystal substrate.

    Unreconstructed CdTe(100) surface prepared by ion bombardment and annealing is investigated by angle-resolved photoemission. The experimental band structure E(k$\text{}_{∥}$) is determined along high-symmetry lines of the surface Brillouin zone by measuring energy-distribution curves of photoelectrons. Different criteria were applied to separate surface and bulk related spectral features, e.g. calculating the position of bulk-derived emissions in the frame of the free-electron final state approximation assuming k conservation. In this way, most dispersing features could be explained. All remaining features were compared with theoretical surface band structures for different polar surface terminations which were calculated within a layer doubling procedure on the basis of an EHT-fit to the bulk band structure. The investigated CdTe(100)-(1×1) surface could be identified as Cd terminated. Two surface bands were observed, one located above the valence-band edge and the second in the open pocket of the projected bulk band structure along the Γ̅K̅ direction. At 4.6 eV binding energy an additional weakly dispersing band was found, which contains mixed surface and bulk character. The high density of bulk states associated with this edge of the heteropolar gap is also expected to contribute to this feature.

    The Angle-Resolved Photoemission Electron Spectroscopy (AR PES) was applied to investigate the electronic structure of HgSe and Hg$\text{}_{1-x}$Fe$\text{}_{x}$Se crystals for (110) surface. The measured set of Angle-Resolved Energy Distribution Curves (AR EDCs) permits to determine some of the elements of the electronic band structure E(k) (energy-momentum dependence for ҐKX and ҐX directions in the Brillouin zone) for measured crystals. The Fe 3d contribution gives the states lying over the edge of the valence band of HgSe crystal (0.25 eV), and into the valence band.

    Photoemission measurements using synchrotron radiation were performed on PbYbTe (bulk crystal) and CdYbTe (MBE thin film). The resonant enhancement of the photoemission was applied for investigation of the contribution of Yb 4f electrons to the valence band. The set of the energy distribution curves was collected for energies in the region close to the 4d-4f Fano transition. The Yb 4f$\text{}^{14}$ were observed at the binding energies close to the edge of the valence band while the 4f$\text{}^{13}$ states were revealed deep in the valence band.
