Opis:
The article discusses a case study focusing on the students’ task of analyzing expressing opinions in Polish and English TV discussions. The written observation task is performed as a final requirement to receive credit for the course of interaction analysis, during which the second-year students of applied linguistics are introduced to the basic methods of conversation analysis. I use document analysis of students’ discourse to distinguish the main tendencies in performing the task by the students. The aim of the research presented in the paper is assessing the students’ ability to use conversation analysis in observing different ways of expressing opinion in selected Polish and American TV discussions. I especially focus on evaluating the students’ skill of unmotivated looking at the ways of expressing opinions in TV discussions. This phenomenological observation requires suspending the researcher’s personal views and assumptions concerning the meaning of actions in interaction. The main aim of conversation analysis is discovering the meaning of communicative actions from the perspective of a talk participant. If applied appropriately, this kind of observation allows student-researchers to avoid a tendency to rely on stereotypical evaluations in the analysis of interactions.

Intercultural differences in discourse patterns have been considered the most important cause of communication problems. It is less certain if these differences are relevant for talk participants in handling communication problems in intercultural interactions. The aim of the case study presented in this paper is observing if talk participants orient to intercultural differences in discourse patterns and what knowledge of these differences they have. I use ethnomethodological approach in analyzing the interaction of Polish students with their Chinese interlocutor. The interactions is an interview conducted in English as a lingua franca. I also conduct an ethnographic interview with the Polish speakers to study their knowledge concerning communication problems which appeared in their interactions with the Chinese speaker. Analyzing the ethnographic interview as interaction, I focus on the content co-construed by the interview participants.

Postępujący proces starzenia się społeczeństwa jest rozpatrywany głównie w kategoriach problemu demograficznego, który wywiera niekorzystny wpływ na politykę ludnościową, a także generuje koszty związane z zagwarantowaniem właściwego systemu opieki nad osobami starszymi. Jest to niezwykle istotne zagadnienie, dlatego w ostatnich latach w Polsce toczy się publiczna debata na temat modyfikacji systemu emerytalnego. Problem pracowników w starszym wieku będzie się stawał coraz bardziej powszechny, dlatego podjęto tematykę dotyczącą ergonomicznego przygotowania stanowiska pracy, co pozwoli na poprawę komfortu pracy, a także może się przyczynić do uzyskania większej wydajności pracy. W artykule przedstawiono istotę ergonomii w środowisku pracy. Wskazano również, jak wraz z wiekiem zmieniają się predyspozycje pracowników oraz ich właściwości psychofizyczne. W ramach części empirycznej zaproponowano pewnego rodzaju zalecenia ergonomiczne, które poprawiły komfort pracy osób starszych w zakładzie pracy, w którym przeprowadzono eksperyment naukowy.
The progression of aging of a society is considered mainly in the categories of a demographic problem, which has a negative impact on population policy, and also generates costs related to guaranteeing an appropriate care system for the elderly. This is an extremely important issue, which is discussed in Poland as a public debate on the modification of the pension system. Problems of older workers will become more and more common, therefore the article focuses on the subject of ergonomic preparation of the workplace, which will improve work comfort and may also contribute to higher work efficiency. The article presents the essence of ergonomics in the work environment. It also indicates how the predispositions of employees and their mental and physical characteristics change with age. In the empirical part of the paper, some ergonomic recommendations were proposed, which improved the working comfort of older people in the workplace in which the scientific experiment was carried out.

W opracowaniu podjęto problematykę przystosowania studentów Uczelni Jana Wyżykowskiego w środowisku akademickim. W analizie przystosowania uwzględniono zarówno jego wymiar społeczny, jak i osobowy związany z zaspokajaniem potrzeb człowieka w nowym środowisku oraz uzyskiwaniem przez niego pewnej równowagi wewnętrznej. W tekście zaprezentowano wyniki badań przeprowadzonych wśród 144 studentów Uczelni Jana Wyżykowskiego za pośrednictwem samodzielnie skonstruowanego narzędzia badawczego w postaci kwestionariusza ankiety. Dane analizowano z uwzględnieniem zmiennej niezależnej, jaką stanowił kierunek studiów.
The elaboration raises the problematic of Jan Wyżykowski University students’ adaptation to academic environment. Analysis of the phenomenon of adaptation took into account both its social and personal dimensions related to satisfying the human needs in the new environment and achieving a certain internal balance by it. The text presents the results of research conducted among 144 students of the Jan Wyżykowski University through a self-constructed research tool in the form of a questionnaire. The data was analyzed taking into account the independent variable, which was the field of study.

Wobec przemian współczesnego świata wzrasta zapotrzebowanie na interwencje edukacyjne, które z jednej strony służą harmonijnemu rozwojowi ludzi, a drugiej strony akceptacji różnorodności, likwidacji wykluczenia. Rozważania wpisują się w dyskurs myślenia o inkluzji jako o imperatywie moralnym, zasadzie politycznej, otwartości na różnice poprzez usuwanie barier edukacyjnych i przeciwdziałanie naznaczaniu inności. W opracowaniu omówiono istotę edukacji inkluzyjnej jako filozofii edukacji, polityki oświatowej oraz ścieżki kształcenia w odniesieniu do uczniów ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi. Ponadto przedstawiono wyniki badań do-tyczące przygotowania polskich szkół, w tym nauczycieli, do realizacji idei edukacji inkluzyjnej. Dopełnienie artykułu stanowią rozważania, w których zderzono ze sobą mocno idealistyczny charakter inkluzji z realiami szkolnictwa, które zmienia się, ale jawi się jeszcze ciągle jako zbiurokratyzowane, opresyjne, nastawione na masowość oddziaływań.
In wiew of the transformation of the modern world, the demand for educational interventions is increasing, which on the one hand serves the harmonious development of people and the other part of exclusion. The considerations are part of the discourse of thinking about inclusion as a moral imperativie, a political principle, openness to differences by removing educational barriers and counteracting the labeling of otherness. In the article, there was discussed the essence of in-clusive education as a philosophy of education, educational policy and learning pathways in the context of students with special educational needs. In addition, research results were presented on the preparation of Polish schools, including teachers to implement the idea of inclusive educa-tion. The completeness of the article is a consideration in which they are compared the very idealistic nature of the inclusion with the reality of the education which is changing, but still appears as an intense bureaucratic, oppressive and massive action.

The increase in the number of advanced age people makes it necessary to pay more attention to the specific needs of the oldest generation, among which educational needs also play a significant role. Education in late adulthood is a predictor of successful aging, a factor constituting the quality of life, as well as the best prevention and gerontological rehabilitation. Its general goal is to include older people in the education system including lifelong learning, understood as a multidimensional process that gives meaning to life against the backdrop of civilization, social and cultural changes. It also helps in understanding life in a changing reality and in adapting to changes. Educational experiences of older people have developed on the basis of educational programs for adults, which over the years have been systematically modified and adapted according to the needs of recipients. The open educational system and the tendency to create integration facilities for seniors (especially Senior Clubs and Universities of the Third Age) are a token that civilized societies care for a good psychophysical condition and high quality of life of the oldest generation. The purpose of this article is to present the history of the creation and functioning of the Universities of the Third Age in Poland and the Slovak Republic, as well as the benefits that education brings to the lives of elder people.
Wzrost liczby osób w starszym wieku powoduje konieczność zwrócenia większej uwagi na określone potrzeby starszego pokolenia, wśród którego potrzeby edukacyjne również odgrywają znaczącą rolę. Edukacja w okresie późnej dorosłości prognozuje szczęśliwe starzenie, jest czynnikiem tworzącym jakość życia, profilaktyką i rehabilitacją gerontologiczną. Jej prawdziwym celem jest włączanie starszych ludzi do systemu edukacyjnego oferującego możliwość uczenia się przez całe życie. System taki rozumiany jest jako wielowymiarowy proces nadający sens życiu w kontekście zmian cywilizacyjnych, społecznych i kulturowych. Pomaga on również zrozumieć życie w zmieniającej się rzeczywistości i przystosować do zmian. Doświadczenia edukacyjne starszych ludzi rozwinęły się w oparciu o programy edukacyjne dla dorosłych, które z biegiem lat były systematycznie modyfikowane i przystosowywane zgodnie z potrzebami odbiorców. Otwarty system edukacyjny i tendencja tworzenia miejsc integracyjnych dla seniorów (w szczególności klubów seniora i uniwersytetów trzeciego wieku) są oznaką, że cywilizowane społeczeństwa dbają o dobrą kondycję psychofizyczną i dobrą jakość życia najstarszego pokolenia. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie historii tworzenia i funkcjonowania uniwersytetów trzeciego wieku w Polsce i Słowacji oraz korzyści jakie edukacja wnosi w życie osób starszych.

Migration, as a global phenomenon has a long history also in the Slovak Republic. Most of the migrants come, or are passing through its territory legally. There are still cases of illegal migration, too. The reasons for this form of state borders crossing are diverse. Part of illegal migrants are also people who are belonging to vulnerable groups, including unaccompanied minors. Since this is a specific and particularly vulnerable group of migrants, the European Union and subsequently the Slovak Republic adopted several legislative measures in the area of migration and asylum. Their aim is to adjust the status of unaccompanied minors and to contribute to finding lasting solutions to their current situation, taking into account their best interests.

Opis:
Beside the family, school is the environment which affects a child for many years and has a significant impact on the process of his development, education, upbringing and socialization. At the moment of starting the educational process, a child must adapt to a new situation and face a new social role – as a pupil. Performing this role may be problematic for every child, but students with special educational needs may experience special difficulties in this area. One of the elements of the school situation is the emotional and social relations of students with their peers from the school class. The main aim of this article to is to present the results of the author` s research on functioning of pupils with special educational needs (SEN) from grades 1-3 of a primary school as a peer and comparison of the results with the findings of other Polish and Czech scholars.
Szkoła, obok rodziny, jest środowiskiem, które przez wiele lat oddziałuje na dziecko wywierając znaczący wpływ na proces jego rozwoju, kształcenia, wychowania oraz socjalizacji. Z chwilą podjęcia nauki w szkole dziecko musi przystosować się do nowej sytuacji jaką jest sytuacja szkolna oraz zmierzyć się z nową rolą społeczną – rolą ucznia. Pełnienie tej roli może być problematyczne dla każdego dziecka, jednak szczególnych trudności w tym zakresie mogą doświadczać uczniowie ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi. Jednym z elementów sytuacji szkolnej są relacje emocjonalno-społeczne uczniów z rówieśnikami z klasy szkolnej. Celem tego opracowania jest zaprezentowanie wyników badań własnych dotyczących funkcjonowania w roli kolegi uczniów ze specjalnymi potrzebami edukacyjnymi z klas I-III szkoły podstawowej oraz porównanie ich z diagnozami innych badaczy polskich i czeskich.

Our paper deals with the problem of how student’s beliefs, expectations and attitudes influence the processes of learning in foreign language discussions. Referring to the socio-constructivist research on classroom communication (Pekarek-Doehler 1999, 2005; Ochs 1993; Klus-Stańska 2003; Hanna and de Nooy 2009), we assume that each speaker construes in a communicative task his or her identity of a learner performing a task and an argumentative interaction participant. This social identity reflects the person’s skills and beliefs, it is co-construed by other speakers and depends on a genre or communicative situation. Our research focuses on argumentative interactions carried out on the web forum in French as a foreign language. This kind of academic task creates a new challenge for FL learners. The asynchronic form of the discussion has a potential for developing individual communicative competence (Weasenforth et al 2002; Walkiers and de Praetere 2004). A crucial condition of developing communicative competence though is that learners intentionally undertake communicative actions make intellectual effort and focus on common learning aims. The aim of the analysis is to show the relation between those actions and the efficiency of learning in argumentative discourse.

Wraz z upowszechnieniem idei edukacji inkluzyjnej rośnie liczba uczniów z niepełnosprawnością w szkołach ogólnodostępnych. Stawiane są pytania dotyczące odpowiedniego przygotowania szkół, w tym nauczycieli, do realizacji nowego modelu edukacji. W artykule podjęto problem opinii nauczycieli szkół podstawowych na temat własnych kompetencji do pracy z uczniami z niepełnosprawnością. Celem opracowania jest analiza wyników badań przeprowadzonych w ogólnodostępnych szkołach podstawowych w trzech regionach Polski: dolnośląskim, lubuskim i kujawsko-pomorskim pod kątem przygotowania nauczycieli do pracy z uczniami z iepełnosprawnością. Analiza wyników dotyczy: oceny przez nauczycieli zasobu posiadanej wiedzy na temat niepełnosprawności człowieka, sposobu rozumienia pojęcia „osoba z niepełnosprawnością”, przygotowania badanych do pracy wychowawczo-dydaktycznej z uczniami z niepełnosprawnością oraz ich postaw wobec edukacji inkluzyjnej.
With the dissemination of the idea of inclusive education, the number of students with disabilities in mainstream schools is growing. It poses questions about the adequate preparation of schools, including teachers, for the implementation of this new model of education. The emphasis of this article is placed on opinions of primary schools teachers on their own competencies for work with students with disabilities. The goal of this article is analyse the results of the surveys from mainstream primary schools from three Polish regions: Lower Silesia, Lubusz and Kuyavia-Pomerania in the context of preparing teachers to work with students with disabilities. The analysis of the results concerns the teachers’ assessment of the amount of knowledge held about human disability, the understanding of the term “person with disability”, preparing the respondents for educational and didactic work with students with disabilities and their attitudes towards inclusive education.

The paper presents a case of primary neuroendocrine breast carcinoma that coexisted with a typical infiltrating carcinoma (BC) within the same mammary gland. It was diagnosed post-operatively on histopathological examination and confirmed by immunohistochemical analysis.
W pracy przedstawiono przypadek pierwotnego neuroendokrynnego raka piersi, który współwystępował z typowym rakiem naciekającym (BC) w tym samym gruczole piersiowym. Został zdiagnozowany pooperacyjnie w badaniu histopatologicznym i potwierdzony w badaniach immunohistochemicznych.
