Opis:
Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) is a Lagrangian formula-based non-grid computational method for simulating fluid flows, solid deformation, and fluid structured systems. SPH is a method widely applied in many fields of science and engineering, especially in the field of materials science. It solves complex physical deformation and flow problems. This paper provides a basic overview of the application of the SPH method in metal processing. This is a very useful simulation method for reconstructing flow patterns, solidification, and predicting defects, limitations, or material destruction that occur during deformation. The main purpose of this review article is to give readers better understanding of the SPH method and show its strengths and weaknesses. Studying and promoting the advantages and overcoming the shortcomings of the SPH method will help making great strides in simulation modeling techniques. It can be effectively applied in training as well as for industrial purposes.

Opis:
The paper reports the results of work leading to the construction of a spatial thermo-mechanical model based on the finite element method allowing the computer simulation of physical phenomena accompanying the steel sample testing at temperatures that are characteristic for the soft-reduction process. The proposed numerical model is based upon a rigid-plastic solution for the prediction of stress and strain fields, and the Fourier-Kirchhoff equation for the prediction of temperature fields. The mushy zone that forms within the sample volume is characterized by a variable density during solidification with simultaneous deformation. In this case, the incompressibility condition applied in the classic rigid-plastic solution becomes inadequate. Therefore, in the presented solution, a modified operator equation in the optimized power functional was applied, which takes into account local density changes at the mechanical model level (the incompressibility condition was replaced with the condition of mass conservation). The study was supplemented with examples of numerical and experimental simulation results, indicating that the proposed model conditions, assumptions, and numerical models are correct.

Opis:
As an important task of the country's socio-economic development, protecting the rights of female workers in employment and income is concerned and implemented by international organizations and all countries in the world. The COVID-19 pandemic has been affecting the global economy and hurt the incomes and employment of many female workers. In Vietnam nowadays, there is an increase in the unemployment rate of female workers, gender inequality in employment and income, and the ability to secure their jobs and income. The article analyzes the current regulations and their implementation in the employment and income of Vietnamese female workers in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The article also proposes some recommendations on legal provisions related to training backup jobs, arranging and employing female employees, providing income support for female employees during leave due to the COVID-19 epidemic; and policies related to female workers and their employers. These recommendations will improve Vietnam's labor law on female workers’ rights in employment and income and enhance the efficiency of human resource use and socio-economic development.

Opis:
The study aims to analyze the impact of macroeconomic and control of corruption on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows in member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Admittedly, a healthy macroeconomic will be a firm foundation to attract FDI inflows. This effect has been reported in lots of empirical studies in different economies. However, there exists a big gap in the current literature due to the lack of empirical studies examining the impact of control of corruption on FDI inflows. In other words, by considering control of corruption as a determinant, the study is expected to bring more unprecedented findings than previous studies, being one of its novelties. The data were collected in six ASEAN economies, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, from 2002 to 2019. By using the Generalized Method of Moment (GMM), the study found the significant impact of the macroeconomic and control of corruption on FDI inflows in ASEAN economies. Specifically, FDI inflows are positively affected by GDP growth and trade openness. In addition, control of corruption has a positive effect on FDI inflows. These prove that a healthy macroeconomic and efficient control of corruption are essential to attract FDI inflows, which is another novelty of this study. These findings are important empirical evidence to researchers as well as the ASEAN economies.

Opis:
The production of cashew apple juice generates fruit pomace which is rich in dietary fiber and phenolic compounds and shows high antioxidant capacity. In this research, the effects of different ratios of cashew apple pomace powder (CAPP) in the pasta formulation on the product quality were investigated. Increase in CAPP level in the pasta recipe from 0 to 20% enhanced the total dietary fiber and total phenolic content of the product by 4.1 times and 11.8 times, respectively, as well as improved the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity and ferric reducing antioxidant power by 18.2 times and 28.6 times, respectively. Nevertheless, the increased level of CAPP in the pasta recipe resulted in decreased cooking quality, textural properties and overall acceptability of the pasta. Pasta sample with 10% CAPP level in the recipe was considered high-fiber food with acceptable sensory quality. Therefore, CAPP may be considered a promising source of dietary fiber and antioxidants for the development of healthy food products.

Opis:
The left hemiface expresses emotion more intensely than the right. Because emotional expressions contract the facial muscles and wrinkle the skin, theoretically the left hemiface’s greater expressivity should prompt more pronounced expression lines and wrinkles on the left than right side of the face. As wrinkles are the most salient age cue, we investigated whether the left hemiface consequently appears older than the right. Two hundred and sixty participants (F=148; M=112) viewed booklets containing pairs of left-left and right-right chimeric faces of eight models (M=F). For each trial participants were asked to make a two alternative forced choice response indicating which image looked older. Results confirmed a left cheek bias, with participants more likely to select left-left than right-right chimeras. Whilst participant gender did not influence perceptions, model gender predicted cheek selections: responses to female models drive the overall left cheek bias. The left cheek (56.8%) appeared older than the right cheek (43.2%) for female models, whereas there was little difference in perceived age between male models' left (50.8%) and right (49.2%) cheeks. Given that youth influences perceptions of female beauty, these findings complement previous research and offer a potential explanation for why the left side of females’ faces are judged less attractive: the right cheek appears younger.
