Opis:
Many discrepancy principles are known for choosing the parameter α in the regularized operator equation $(T*T + αI)x_α^δ = T*y^δ$, $|y - y^δ| ≤ δ$, in order to approximate the minimal norm least-squares solution of the operator equation Tx = y. We consider a class of discrepancy principles for choosing the regularization parameter when T*T and $T*y^δ$ are approximated by Aₙ and $zₙ^δ$ respectively with Aₙ not necessarily self-adjoint. This procedure generalizes the work of Engl and Neubauer (1985), and particular cases of the results are applicable to the regularized projection method as well as to a degenerate kernel method considered by Groetsch (1990).

symmetric balanced incomplete block (SBIB) design
Opis:
All the symmetric balanced incomplete block (SBIB) designs have been characterized and a new generalized expression on parameters of SBIB designs has been obtained. The parameter b has been formulated in a different way which is denoted by bi, i = 1, 2, 3, associating with the types of the SBIB design Di. The parameters of all the designs obtained through this representation have been tabulated while corresponding them with the suitable formulae for the number ofblocks bi and the expression Si for the convenience of practical users for constructional methods of certain designs, which is the main theme of this paper.

Opis:
Seasonal studies on size-fractionated phytoplankton productivity (biomass and primary production), marker pigments, and species composition and abundance were carried out in the Cochin estuary (CE), located on the southwest coast of India, to identify the critical environmental factors that control the consistent preponderance of diatoms. The overall results of the study showed a significant contribution of small-sized phytoplankton, specifically nanophytoplankton (2—20 μm), to the total chlorophyll a and primary production in the estuary, regardless of seasons. Diatoms constituted the major phytoplankton taxa, showed an exceptional seasonal scale increase in numerical abundance during the post-southwest monsoon. The relative increase in fucoxanthin (biomarker of diatoms) over other marker pigments substantiated the numerical dominance of diatoms throughout the sampling periods. This is the first study in the CE in which phytoplankton marker pigments have been detected and elucidated the seasonality of functional groups based on HPLC/chemotaxonomy analytical approaches. The prevalence of high DiatDP and diatom chlorophyll a equivalent (estimated by CHEMTAX), further confirmed the preponderance of diatoms in the CE, despite the intermittent dominance of cyanophytes and cryptophytes (monsoon period). The consistent increase in SPM levels (> 25 mg L—1), established at all sampling stations, indicated that the water column turbidity might be one of the significant environmental factors hindering the growth of large-sized phytoplankton (ca. >20 μm) in the CE even if the system invariably holds high inorganic nutrients, irrespective of seasons

Opis:
Although there are many articulations of SWIPT architecture implementations, the hardware impairment aspect involved in the SWIPT architecture system is not given much attention. This paper evaluates the performance of SWIPT PS Receiver architecture in the presence of IQ imbalance hardware impairment with 16-QAM transmitter and AWGN channel. The parameters SNR, BER is evaluated in the presence of amplitude, phase imbalance, and PS factor at the SWIPT receiver side. Further, the IQ imbalance is estimated and compensated using a blind compensation algorithm. The system achieved a maximum BER of 10−7 in the presence of amplitude and phase imbalance of 0.2 and 1.6 respectively.

Opis:
An exciton confined within a quantum dot acts as a two-level quantum system, and is one of the most promising candidates for quantum computing and quantum information processing. The real-space optical probing of the quantum eigenstates in a single quantum dot and coupled quantum dots should be developed toward the realization of quantum photonic devices, where their wave functions are dynamically controlled by coherent optical techniques. Here we apply near-field photoluminescence imaging spectroscopy with a high spatial resolution of 30 nm to map out the centre-of-mass wave function of an exciton confined in a GaAs quantum dot. The spatial profile of the exciton emission, which reflects the shape of a monolayer-high island, differs from that of biexciton emission, due to different distributions of the polarization field for the exciton and biexciton recombinations.
