The present thesis focuses on the syntactic study of the position of mood particles in Mandarin Chinese. The most popular mood particles in Mandarin Chinese are six: “ne”, “a”, “ma”, “ba”, “le” and “de”, used at the end of the sentences, traditionally believed to denote interrogative, declarative, imperative, and exclamative moods. This thesis argues that the mood particles don’t carry any lexical meanings themselves, and as sentence affixes, they are adjoined to the head complementizer at the end of the sentence in head final language of Chinese at the sensorimotor interface after the spellout in PF level. Therefore, mood particles are not computed in the internal grammar but in the externalization process of the computation.

This paper is based on the analysis of 261 video and word posts collected from four popular social media sites on which Chinese tourists shared their consumption-related experiences during and after the trip. It investigates Chinese international tourists’ diverse presentations of self to a broad audience online through explaining their shopping experiences and product reviews. Tourists are expected to balance multiple identities carefully when they project themselves online as consumers—on the one hand, they present themselves as global consumers and trendsetters who are strategic and savvy; while on the other hand, they still need to preserve and even emphasize their national identity as Chinese patriots. Providing the much-lacking qualitative insight, this study enhances our understanding of international tourists and their consumption behaviors, the construction and presentation of a digital self, and how globalization operates at the micro-level.

Opis:
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the quality of day care education. I provide an overview and synthesis of issues concerning child studies. In response to this review, Fröbel’s educational philosophy pertaining to play and the character of the child addresses some of the central themes raised in the general discussion. My comments focus on the issues regarding the aim (the character of a divine child), curriculum (play that cultivates attention and will-power), and instructional methods (developing good habits) of day care education. I argue that child studies research calls for a culture that children should live in a realm of both heart and mind.
Celem tego artykułu jest przedyskutowanie znaczenia edukacji przedszkolnej. Prezentuję przegląd i syntezę zagadnień związanych z naukami pedagogicznymi. W tym moim krótkim omówieniu przedstawiam – odnoszącą się do zabawy i charakteru dziecka – Fröblowską filozofię edukacyjną, czyli pewne centralne kwestie podnoszone w ogólnej dyskusji. Moje komentarze koncentrują się na zagadnieniach związanych z celem nauczania (charakter idealnego dziecka), programem nauczania (zabawa rozwijająca uwagę i siłę woli) oraz metodami dydaktycznymi (rozwijanie dobrych nawyków) pedagogiki przedszkolnej. Twierdzę, że badania w zakresie nauk pedagogicznych optują za kulturą, którą dzieci powinny żyć, tak w sferze uczuć, jak i w sferze myśli.

Opis:
An observation of a solar eclipse that occurred on October 13, 443 BC during the reign of the Duke Ligong of Qin was recorded in the Twenty-Four Histories (China’s dynastic histories from remote antiquity till the Ming Dynasty). With modern astronomical planetary ephemeris, the observation records were studied. The results showed that the eclipse probably occurred around sunset in Yongcheng, the capital of Qin, where the sunset time was exactly between the first contact stage (partial eclipse begins) and the fourth contact stage (partial eclipse ends) of the eclipse. Furthermore, secular change of the earth’s rotation rate at that time is investigated in this work.

The present article is devoted to the study of the biological localization of merging topics in Mandarin Chinese. The canonical topic structures in Chinese can be classified into 2 types: scrambling topic structures and left dislocated topic structures. In the first type, the topic is moved from its original position of an object or an adjunct to the spec CP position of the sentence; while in the second type, the topic is base generated in the spec CP position. The displaced topic is internally merged with its comment and the base generated topic is externally merged with its comment. Both logical possibilities of merge are localized laterally in BA 44.

W niniejszym artykule dokonano studium stanu światowego towarowego rynku giełdowego, a także wskazano na tendencje i kierunki rozwoju instytucji giełd towarowych na świecie. Instytucja ta podlegała znacznym przemianom wynikającym z rozwoju gospodarki i potrzeb uczestników rynku, co w konsekwencji doprowadziło do stworzenia globalnych elektronicznych platform handlowych. Giełda była zawsze miejscem generowania informacji rynkowej w zakresie poziomu cen i sytuacji na rynku surowców rolnych. Przede wszystkim jednak umożliwiała zarządzanie ryzykiem niekorzystnej zmiany ceny na rynku. Stwierdzono, że pomimo znaczącego rozwoju giełdowych rynków instrumentów finansowych, nominalny udział w obrotach operatorów giełdowych kontraktów na surowce rolnicze stale wzrasta.
This paper presents a study of the global commodity exchange market and identifies trends and direction of development of this institution in the world. It was found that the commodity exchanges were subject to significant changes resulting from the development of the economy and the needs of market participants, which in turn led to the creation of global electronic trading platforms. However, this institution has always been a place of the information on prices and on agricultural commodities market generation. First of all it enables price risk management. Despite a significant development of stock markets in financial instruments the nominal share of the stock exchange operators in trading agricultural commodities futures is growing.

W przeciwieństwie do poprzednich doniesień wykazano, że gatunek ten występuje jedynie w górnym wapieniu muszlowym. Szereg przesłanek świadczy o migracji E. cf. liliiformis ze wschodu na zachód przez reaktywowaną bramę wschodnio-karpacką

Mach’s principle of immanence of the universe requires the behavior of local matter to depend upon the remainder of the universe. Hubble’s constant could be employed to calculate the inference of this condition. More than a decade ago specific types of temporally patterned magnetic fields generated by serial 3 ms point durations were shown to produce conspicuous biochemical effects. When the product of this duration and the diameter of a proton was divided into Planck’s Length the estimated Hubble’ parameter was 66.7 ±1.3 km∙ s-1•MParsec-1 which is remarkably similar to the current value of 67.8 km∙ s-1. Photon emissions from chemoluminescent reactions and discrete shifts in pH within spring water during exposure to specific patterns of magnetic fields revealed optimal responses with remarkably similar z-transformations when point durations of the constructive voltages were 3 ms or 1 ms but not 2, 4, or 5 ms. Cumulative results indicate proton (3 ms) and electron (~1.5 ms) processes. These results support Mach’s contention and indicate that relatively accurate inferences of the Hubble parameter might be obtained with more precise instrumentation on the terrestrial surface.

The astronomical contributions of Sir Arthur Eddington have sometimes been distracted by his philosophy and his derivation of ~1079 for the total number of elementary particles in the universe. However, assumptions employed to obtain the universal mass in a volume of ~1079 m3 produce values remarkably commensurate with ~1079 protons. The congruence between the calculated gravitational forces for rest mass photons separated by Planck’s length and potassium ions separated by the distance that maintains a neuron’s resting plasma membrane potential is also consistent with his assumption that universal structure is mirrored within consciousness and its extensions through sensitive instrumentation. Recent measurements of photon emissions during changes in membrane potentials and human beings engaging in visual imagery as well as the concept of entanglement suggest that careful reevaluation of Eddington’s approach in cosmology, astronomy, and astrophysics may be revealing.
