Opis:
The present article does a chronological tour through some representative maintenance management models, describes them in a general way and classifies them according to their functioning under declarative models and under process oriented models. It distinguishes in addition the innovations proposed by each author and compares the elements appearing on each model with some of the points mentioned by the ISO 9001:2008 standard, as well as other criteria considered suitable to the case. From this analysis are derived the results between which are distinguished some desirable characteristics for a modern and efficient maintenance management model. In addition the application of these models for supporting industrial needs, as well as its future challenges are discussed too.

Opis:
n this work, morphology of Beta vulgaris L. cells permeabilized with 0.7 mM of Triton X-100® was evaluated using digital image processing and concepts of fractal dimension (perimeter- area relations). Important morphometric changes were found when the contact-time with chemical agent was increased. The size of cells decreased, the cells lost the roundness and their shape was more sinuous; this behaviour was a result of a probable shrinkage caused by the excess of exposure with the permeabili- zation agent. Morphology of B. vulgaris cells after permeabili- zation, exhibited a fractal nature since the slope of the ratio of the logarithm of the perimeter vs logarithm of the area was higher than unit. Fractal geometry of the cell morphology was affected as a re- sult of the exposure to Triton X-100®. Those changes can be attri- buted to the loss of turgor and structure of the cell wall.

Opis:
The effect of ultrasound treatment (UT) on a beverage from mango pulp and carrot juice with added turmeric powder on total soluble phenolic content (TSP), total carotenoid content (TC) and antioxidant capacity (AOC) was evaluated. Response surface methodology (RSM) was applied to obtain the optimal formulation of the beverage. The AOC was assigned as a response variable in addition to TSP and TC. Mathematical modeling showed that the formulation with 35% (v/v) of mango pulp, 10% (v/v) of carrot juice, and 0.7% (w/v) of turmeric powder, yielded the highest values of TSP, TC, and AOC. The beverages were subjected to different ultrasound conditions with varying exposure times (ET), sonication amplitudes (SA), and pulse cycles (PC) to obtain the highest values for response variables. Statistical modeling showed that a UT at 21 min ET, 100% SA, and 0.7 s PC, increased TSP, Trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity (TEAC), and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) by 15.5%, 45.1%, and 15.9%, respectively. Seven phenolic acids, three curcuminoids, five flavonoids, and a xanthonoid were identified in the beverages. The quantities of 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid, gallic acid, chlorogenic acids, (+)-catechin, quercetin, kaempferol, (–)-gallocatechin gallate, and mangiferin were higher in the UT beverage compared to the control, suggesting their release from cell-wall structures as a result of UT.
