Opis:
In this study, it was discovered that a mixture of dodecylamine (DDA)-kerosene demonstrated a stronger collecting ability for pure quartz and higher selectivity for magnetite ore. The relationship between the DDA-kerosene composition and mineral flotation performance on reverse flotation of magnetite ore was investigated. The results showed that floatability of the floating material increased when the DDA consumption increased. Specifically, during flotation, the fine particles (-0.074 mm fraction) selectively floated with DDA-kerosene. The difficult to float coarser particles (+0.074 mm fraction) with high content of quartz, required higher DDA dosage. However, higher DDA input during the flotation process did not necessarily yield better outcomes. The best results were obtained for 40/60 amine-to-oil ratio, as the quartz floated markedly with smaller magnetite loss and the flotation behavior was superior to pure DDA. Magnetite concentrates with 1.83% SiO2 and 71.04% Fe were produced using 120 g/Mg of DDA-kerosene (WDDA=40%).

Opis:
Bidirectional reflectance distribution function of some artificial satellite used materials at the wavelength of 1.06 μm was measured in laboratory. Bidirectional reflectance distribution function (BRDF) models of these materials were established with the five-parameter BRDF model. Laser radar cross-section of a scaled satellite with various materials was calculated, and characteristics of laser radar cross-section of the satellite were discussed. Measurement system to measure laser radar cross-section of the satellite was established and the scaled satellite model was measured. By analyzing the measured data and calculated data, it can be clearly seen that the BRDF of the surface materials and the laser incidence angle are two of main influential factors of the scaled satellite’s laser radar cross-section. These works can provide a reference for design of the lidar system.

Opis:
This paper proposes a novel approach to reliability evaluation for active Fault Tolerant Control Systems (FTCSs). By introducing a reliability index based on the control performance and hard deadline, a semi-Markov process model is proposed to describe system operation for reliability evaluation. The degraded performance of FTCSs in the presence of imperfect Fault Detection and Isolation (FDI) is reflected by semi-Markov states. The semi-Markov kernel, the key parameter of the process, is determined by four probabilistic parameters based on the Markovian model of FTCSs. Computed from the transition probabilities of the semi-Markov process, the reliability index incorporates control objectives, hard deadline, and the effects of imperfect FDI, a suitable quantitative measure of the overall performance.

Opis:
Fault tree analysis (FTA) is a widely used reliability assessment tool for large and complex engineering systems. The conventional fault tree analysis method, which contains AND, OR, and Voting gates, etc., can efficiently build an analytical model to represent combinations of component failures that cause the failure of a system. However, due to its limited modeling capability, we may confront difficulties when modeling dynamic systems which involve complicated dynamic characteristics such as sequence dependency and functional dependency. Markov-based dynamic fault tree analysis (DFTA) extends the static FTA by introducing additional gates to model such complicated interactions among events. In many circumstances, it is quite difficult to obtain an accurate system reliability estimate due to limited data. To overcome this issue, a fuzzy dynamic fault tree model is put forth to assess system reliability. To obtain the membership function of the fuzzy probability for the top event of the studied fault trees, the extension principle is employed to calculate the associated membership function via a pair of parametric programming problems. Finally, a case study is presented to demonstrate the application of the proposed approach for the hydraulic system of a CNC machining centre.
By rozwiązać ten problem, zaproponowano zastosowanie rozmytego modelu dynamicznego drzewa uszkodzeń do oceny niezawodności systemu. Aby otrzymać funkcję przynależności rozmytego prawdopodobieństwa wystąpienia zdarzenia szczytowego badanego drzewa uszkodzeń, obliczono, na podstawie pary problemów programowania parametrycznego, skojarzoną funkcję przynależności wykorzystując zasadę rozszerzenia. Na zakończenie przedstawiono studium przypadku, w którym proponowane podejście zastosowano do analizy systemu hydraulicznego centrum obróbkowego CNC.

Opis:
Rolling friction representing the energy dissipation mechanism with the elastic deformation at the contact point could act directly on particle percolation. The present investigation intends to elucidate the influence of rolling friction coefficient on inter-particle percolation in a packed bed by discrete element method (DEM). The results show that the vertical velocity of percolating particles decreases with increasing the rolling friction coefficient. With the increase of rolling friction coefficient, the transverse dispersion coefficient decreases, but the longitudinal dispersion coefficient increases. Packing height has a limited effect on the transverse and longitudinal dispersion coefficient. In addition, with the increase of size ratio of bed particles to percolation ones, the percolation velocity increases. The transverse dispersion coefficient increases with the size ratio before D/d<14. And it would keep constant when the size ratio is greater than 14. The longitudinal dispersion coefficient decreases when the size ratio increases up to D/d=14, then increases with the increase of the size ratio. External forces affect the percolation behaviours. Increasing the magnitude of the upward force (e.g. from a gas stream) reduces the percolation velocity, and decreases the dispersion coefficient.

Opis:
The time domain boundary element method was utilized to simulate the propagation of the irregular waves in a numerical wave tank. The problem was solved in a time-marching scheme, upon the irregular waves being fed through the inflow boundary, in which the theoretical solution was obtained from the wave energy spectrum. The open boundary condition was modeled by the multi transmitting formula (MTF), in which the phase velocity was calculated according to the Sommerfeld’s condition. The velocity potential and wave elevation were directly obtained by integrating the free surface condition twice, with respect to time. The accuracy of the developed numerical scheme was verified by simulating the propagation of irregular waves. The numerical results show good agreements with the analytical solutions, which prove that the proposed scheme is a promising way to the simulation of wave-body interactions.

The last study on n-alkanes in surface sediments of Taihu Lake was in 2000, only 13 surface sediment samples were analysed, in order to have a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of n-alkanes in the surface sediments of Taihu Lake, 41 surface sediment samples were analyzed by GC-MS. C10 to C37 were detected, the total concentrations of n-alkanes ranged from 2109 ng g−1 to 9096 ng gg−1 (dry weight). There was strong odd carbon predominance in long chain n-alkanes and even carbon predominance in short chain n-alkanes. When this finding was combined with the analysis results of wax n-alkanes (WaxCn), carbon preference index (CPI), unresolved complex mixture (UCM), hopanes and steranes, it was considered that the long chain n-alkanes were mainly from terrigenous higher plants, and that the short chain n-alkanes mainly originated from bacteria and algae in the lake, compared with previous studies, there were no obvious anthropogenic petrogenic inputs. Terrestrial and aquatic hydrocarbons ratio (TAR) and C21−/C25+ indicated that terrigenous input was higher than aquatic sources and the nearshore n-alkanes were mainly from land-derived sources. Moreover, the distribution of short chain n-alkanes presented a relatively uniform pattern, while the long chain n-alkanes presented a trend that concentrations dropped from nearshore places to the middle of lake.

Its properties, such as electronic structure, IR spectrum, heat of formation, thermodynamic properties and crystal structure, were predicted. This compound is most likely to crystallize in the P21 space group, and the corresponding cell parameters are Z = 2, a = 5.46 Å, b = 9.72 Å, c = 14.05 Å, α = 90°, β = 90°, γ = 90°. In addition, the detonation velocity and pressure were also estimated by using the empirical Kamlet-Jacobs equations, and were predicted to be 8.28 km/s and 31.61 GPa respectively. The oxygen balance of this compound is +13.79%, which indicates that it could serve as an oxidizer. Bond dissociation energy calculations show that the C(13)-N(21)O2 and C(14)-N(30)O2 bonds are the locations of thermal decomposition and that this compounds meets the thermal stability requirements as an exploitable explosive. This paper considers parameter estimation of superimposed exponential signals in multiplicative and additive noise which are all independent and identically distributed. A modified Newton–Raphson algorithm is used to estimate the frequencies of the considered model, which is further used to estimate other linear parameters. It is proved that the modified Newton–Raphson algorithm is robust and the corresponding estimators of frequencies attain the same convergence rate with Least Squares Estimators (LSEs) under the same noise conditions, but it outperforms LSEs in terms of the mean squared errors. Finally, the effectiveness of the algorithm is verified by some numerical experiments.

In order to monitor and correct the meteorological factors of the spring gravity meter, the characteristics of the time varying gravity changes caused by meteorological factors were analyzed. Kunming GS15 gravity meter from 2007 continuous gravity observation has been carried out with the sampling rate of the pressure observation. In this study, we first compare the effects of 4 types of gravity meter and 3 different types of stations on the gravity observed seasonal gravity signals. It is indicated that the observed seasonal gravity signal of the cave is only 1/10, and there is a constant temperature and constant pressure device. Compared with the same time, the gravity signal of the gravity signal is about 100 times smaller. The influence of the pressure load of the gravity meter is tested by using the theory of pressure. The results show that only the actual value of 2cpd - 3cpd pressure load varies from -0.395 to -0.280×10-8ms-2 , and the 1cpd to 1 cpm periodic partial type gravity meter is also in accordance with the law of gravity and air pressure. And with the characteristics of time lag. In this paper, the nonlinear zero drift parameters of the linear regression model with time lag and the time series of the GS15 gravity meter are used to simulate the nonlinear zero drift parameters of the gravity meter. The results show that the gravity signal contains time lag 35 hours, and the air pressure admittance is 0.8 × 10-8ms-2/mbar. The correlation can reach 79%. The gravity changes signal and satellite gravity as well as the gravity water load signal of the land water model are the same as the gravity water load signal in the autumn as the minimum value, and the seasonal variation of the maximum value of gravity in summer.

Sericite is the main contaminant of concentrate in commercial microcrystalline graphite ore flotation. It was necessary to identify its recovery mechanisms so that the appropriate solution can be selected. In this study, the influence of sericite on flotation selectivity of microcrystalline graphite ore and its recovery mechanisms were investigated. Artificial mixtures flotation test suggested that sericite seriously reported into concentrate leading to poor flotation selectivity of microcrystalline graphite ore. However, the aggregation/dispersion behavior of artificial mixtures indicated that a large repulsive energy existed between sericite and microcrystalline graphite particles at pH 7.4, and sericite was not likely to report into graphite concentrate by slime coating. The results obtained from contact angle measurements and a technique of Warren showed that the floated sericite reached the froth via a combination of both entrainment and entrapment mechanisms, not via true flotation.

Fruit biomechanics is needed for quality determination, multiscale modelling and engineering design of fruit processes and equipments. However, these determined fruit biomechanics data often have obvious differences for the same fruit or tissue. In order to investigate it, the fruit biomechanics based on anatomy was reviewed in this paper. First, the anatomical characteristics of fruit biomaterials were described at the macroscopic ‘tissue’ level and microscopic ‘cellular’ level. Subsequently, the factors affecting fruit biomechanics based on anatomy and the relationships between fruit biomechanics, texture and mechanical damage were summarised according to the published literature. Fruit biomechanics is mainly affected by size, number and arrangement of cells, quantity and volume of intracellular spaces, structure, thickness, chemical composition and permeability of cell walls, and pectin degradation level and turgor pressure within cells based on microanatomy. Four test methods and partial determined results of fruit biomechanics were listed and reviewed. The determined mechanical properties data of fruit are only approximate values by using the existing four test methods, owing to the fruit biomaterials being non-homogeneous and living. Lastly, further aspects for research on fruit biomechanics were proposed for the future.

Opis:
This paper focuses on the optimal vibration control of clamped-free conical shells using distributed helical piezoelectric sensor/actuator (S/A) pairs. Based on the independent modal space control, the response of conical shell to external excitations is represented by the summation of all participating natural modes and their respective modal participation factors, and each mode can be controlled independently. The modal equation is transformed into the linear state space form. The linear quadratic (LQ) controllers are designed for each independent mode. The optimal gain matrix is related to the ratio G∗ between the control voltage and sensing signal by the modal control force per unit voltage B2 and the sensing signal per unit displacement C1. Because B2 and C1 change with locations of the S/A pair, the optimal control effects, modal control forces and corresponding optimal control voltages are evaluated using two S/A pairs at different locations. The results indicate that the optimal control method is effective in vibration control of the shell. The optimal control effect also depends on the location of the S/A pair and modal shapes as well as the modal control force and input voltage.
Równanie modalne przetransformowano do liniowej formuły stanu. Zaprojektowano sterowniki liniowo-kwadratowe (LQ) niezależnie dla każdej postaci własnej. Optymalną macierz współczynników wzmocnienia skorelowano z transmitancją G∗ pomiędzy napięciem sterowania i sygnału czujnika poprzez jednostkową siłę sterującą odniesioną do napięcia B2 oraz sygnału czujnika w stosunku do przemieszczenia C1.
