In this paper, we have reported a very advanced hybrid optical amplifier (Raman-TDFF amplifier) for the 180 × 10 Gbps super dense wavelength division multiplexing system with the channel spacing of 100 GHz. The performances of the model have been evaluated in terms of gain and noise figures for the C-band (from 1525 to 1565 nm). Gain flatness (> 21 dB) is recorded with the least variation of 2.5 dB without using any cost effective technique. Further, the effect of the proposed hybrid optical amplifier has also been analyzed with slightly shifting the wavelength spectrum for the same feature.

Opis:
Interleaved boost converters (IBCs) are cascaded in parallel in most of the applications. This novel approach connects IBC in series cascade. The IBC has an optimal operating duty cycle of 0.5. Normally, photovoltaic source voltage is low because of space constraints. In order to boost the source voltage, a conventional boost converter is replaced with series-cascaded IBC in this paper. The single-stage IBC also boosts the voltage to twice the input voltage. In the proposed converter, output voltage is about four times the input voltage with the same 0.5 duty cycle. A mathematical model is developed and simulated for the proposed work in MATLAB/Simulink platform. The output of the proposed circuit is analysed through fast Fourier transform to know the harmonic content due to the switching. The system is tested for stability with signal-flow graph modelling. The proposed work is realised using hardware and tested to validate the model.

The proposed study is improvised value-engineered modifications for the basic interleaved boost converter (IBC) by including relevant modifications in circuits, which is expected for a better performance in switching with reduction in losses. The newly modified IBC circuit with insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) along with converter has been experimented by simulations and the results are tabulated to modified IBC with metal oxide silicon field effect transistors. Further experimental analysis and validations of the proposed simulation with hardware developed adopting model SKM195GB066D consisting of IGBTs is presented. This study further enhances and summarises the optimum utilisation and the performance of IBC with the proposed IGBT modules that synchronises power diode. Enhancing the simulation outcomes, the hardware is proposed and developed to be tested for a load up to 1.5 kW with the evaluation of key parameters such as efficiency of the converter.

Nano-biotechnology represents the intersection of nanotechnology and biotechnology which is an emerging field in creation, productivity and utility of nanoscale structures for advanced biotechnology. Plant and plant extract are considered as green and effective paths in the synthesis of gold and silver nanoparticles. The aim of the present study is to analyze the interaction of silver nanoparticles synthesized from herbal source (Cinnamon zeylanicum) with pathogenic bacteria Salmonella typhi (S. typhi) in order to know the microbe pathogenicity. The micro-nano interface disturbed the growth of microbes. Under the influence of different concentration of nanoparticles (50 µL to 1,000 µL), the microbes exhibited slow growth as compared to control. The viable cell count also decreased as the nanoparticles concentration increased. This shows major difference in the bacterial culture of with and without nano particle. Under normal culture, without nanoparticles intervention, the microbes show lag phase at 0-4 h, the log phase begins and its exponential growth occurs between 4-8 h and after 12 h, stationary phase was attained. There was a slow growth observed when the culture was exposed to silver nanoparticles. This clearly shows the antimicrobial effect of nanoparticles. In this study we used green synthesized nanoparticles, which have shown a good antibacterial efficacy against the pathogenic microorganism Salmonella typhi.

In recent years, FCA has received significant attention from research communities of various fields. Further, the theory of FCA is being extended into different frontiers and augmented with other knowledge representation frameworks. In this backdrop, this paper aims to provide an understanding of the necessary mathematical background for each extension of FCA like FCA with granular computing, a fuzzy setting, interval-valued, possibility theory, triadic, factor concepts and handling incomplete data. Subsequently, the paper illustrates emerging trends for each extension with applications. To this end, we summarize more than 350 recent (published after 2011) research papers indexed in Google Scholar, IEEE Xplore, ScienceDirect, Scopus, SpringerLink, and a few authoritative fundamental papers.

Low power VLSI designs are having wide variety of application usage in real-time. VLSI circuits are analyzed with various power reduction strategies. Existing approaches are used the clock frequency control, switching activity and scaling factor for power reduction. The glitching problem and clock triggering issues are higher therefore; the proposed work utilized the improved circuit of clock gating technique. In this proposed work, the enhanced clock gating with D-latch model is constructed to obtain the less power consumption. The traditional clock gating technique is improved by adding clock triggering on LATCH circuit and adding buffer circuit between the source and load circuitry to reduce the clock switching issues like gitching and clocking activity. Here the SRAM and sequential counter circuits are designed to utilize the power reduction strategy for improving the performance. This is applicable for various applications in real world and utilizing the FPGA and DSP application specific circuits. Experimental results are analyzed to obtain the power reduction result of SRAM and sequential circuit. Area, power, and delay are obtained the better results as compared with the previous work. Overall, design is performed using Xilinx 14.2 ISE suit.

Jigging has a very important role in mineral processing Industry. Upgrading of Iron Ore by jigging has been an emerging trend. A detailed investigation is carried out to understand the role of jig feed distribution and process parameters during jigging operation. Noamundi jig plant data shows that variation in jig feed granulometry, feed quality and operating conditions are major contributors to fluctuation in jigging performance. At Noamundi the Jig feed size (-10.0+0.5mm) fraction is used for fines jigging operation. To understand the effect of particle size distribution on jig plant performance such as yield, separation efficiency and Fe recovery. In this context The performance of jigging was evaluated by daily average data from jig operation was used to study the influence of feed distribution on jigging performance .Coarser fraction (+6mm) has a positive influence, whereas fines fraction (-0.5mm) tends to lower performance .During Jigging rearrangements of Particles takes place due to an alternate expansion and compaction of Jig Bed .These particles are arranged by increasing density from top to bottom. During the particle stratification, Jig bed physically cut at desired horizontal particle density plant to separate the desired product. Investigation shows that optimum bed height is required at different Jig feed quality to achieve desired product quality, maximum separation efficiency and Fe recovery. This Paper will illustrate role of feed distribution and process parameters control on Jigging plant performance and deals with optimization of process parameters to recover iron value from fines.
Wzbogacanie w osadzarce odgrywa bardzo ważną rolę w przemyśle przetwórstwa minerałów. Wzbogacanie rudy żelaza w osadzarkach jest nowym kierunkiem badań nad wzbogacalnością. Przeprowadzono szczegółowe badania w celu określenia wpływu uziarnienia nadawy i parametrów procesu na efektywność procesu. Dane dotyczące wzbogacania w zakładzie Noamundi pokazują, że zróżnicowanie składu ziarnowego nadawy i warunki procesu są głównymi czynnikami wpływającymi na wahania wydajności osadzarki. W Zakładzie Noamundi do wzbogacania w osadzarce kierowana jest klasa ziarnowa (10,0–0,5 mm). Zbadano wpływ rozkładu wielkości cząstek na wydajność osadzarki, taką jak wydajność, skuteczność rozdziału i odzysk żelaza. Wydajność osadzarki oceniono na podstawie średnich dziennych danych z osadzarki przemysłowej, które wykorzystano do zbadania wpływu parametrów nadawy na wydajność. Udział grubszych ziaren (+6 mm) ma pozytywny wpływ, podczas gdy drobnych ziaren (-0,5 mm) ma tendencję do obniżania wydajności. W procesie osadzania następują zmiany gęstości łoża. Zmiana gęstości łoża następuje od góry (najniższa) do dołu (największa). Podczas stratyfikacji ziaren warstwa materiału jest rozdzielana na określonym poziomie, tak aby uzyskać produkt o pożądanej charakterystyce. Badanie wykazało, że optymalna wysokość łoża osadzarki jest różna dla różnej charakterystyki nadawy tak aby osiągnąć pożądaną jakość produktu, maksymalną wydajność separacji i odzysk Fe. W niniejszym artykule zilustrowano rolę jakości nadawy i kontroli parametrów procesu dla uzyskania wydajności osadzarki, oraz przedstawiono optymalizację parametrów procesu w celu maksymalizacji uzysku żelaza.

Treatment of Municipal wastewater by Electrocoagulation (EC) process using punched aluminium and zinc electrodes was studied in a batch EC cell reactor. Response surface methodology (RSM) based on Central Composite Design (CCD) was utilized to optimize the operating parameters for the removal of % Total Suspended Solids (TSS) and % Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) from Municipal Sewage. Effect of operating parameters such as Electrode Distance (x1), Electrolysis Time (x2) and Voltage (x3) has been optimized for the removal of TSS and COD. The prediction of removal percentage of TSS and COD in various Operational circumstances is done by using Quadratic model. The significance of each operating parameter was computed by Analysis of variance (ANOVA). To achieve the maximum removal of % TSS and % COD, the optimum conditions were Electrode distance(x1)-3 cm, Electrolysis Time (x2)-70.299 minute and Voltage (x3)-6.5V. It was observed that the performance of electrocoagulation process increased up to 61.45% for COD removal, and 73.73% for TSS removal using punched electrode compared to plane electrodes.

India is the leading producer of raw jute and jute products in the world. India’s sacking goods production comprises 75% of the total goods production and B twill bags, used for packaging rice and wheat, and contributes 85% of the total sacking bag production. Still there exists an increasing trend of imports of jute products due to the increase in the domestic consumption of conventional jute goods. Bangladesh is the major exporter in jute goods, with India in 2nd position. Hessian cloth and bags are the major exporting items of jute goods from India. In the overall situation, there exists a unique opportunity of the jute industry to improve the social and economic conditions of the states concerned as well as the country. Being the preferred sector in raw jute production due to suitable topographical conditions, emphasis now needs to be placed on modernization of the jute sector with a view to developing a viable and efficient jute manufacturing sector in the country.

Potassium dinitramide (KDN) was incorporated in ammonium nitrate (AN) crystals in AN/KDN ratio of 90/10, 75/25 and 50/50 by a co-crystallization method. These mixtures were subjected to thermal decompositional studies (DSC-TG) using a Simultaneous Thermal Analyzer (STA). The catalysts used for the present studies were: i) cupric(II) oxide (CuO) and, ii) copper-cobalt based metal oxide (Cu-Co*). For all catalytic samples, 2% by weight percent of catalyst was added to the total weight of the samples. Thermal decomposition studies were carried out for all the oxidizer samples prepared. Thermal decompositional studies were carried out at three different heating rates, i.e. 3 K/min, 5 K/min and 10 K/min, and the kinetic parameters were computed using the model free Flynn-Wall-Ozawa equation. It has been observed that 50% KDN addition resulted in complete suppression of endothermicity indicating total supression of the phase changes of AN in this temperature range. Further, it was noticed that CuO acts as a better phase stabilizer for AN as compared to Cu-Co*. However, Cu-Co* considerably increased the net exothermic decompositional heat release (J/g) of AN.

Activated tungsten inert gas (ATIG) welding has a good depth of penetration (DOP) as compared to the conventional tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. This paper is mainly focused on ATIG characterization and mechanical behavior of aluminum alloy (AA) 6063-T6 using SiO2 flux. The characterization of the base material (BM), fusion zone (FZ), heat affected zone (HAZ) and, partially melted zone is carried out using the suitable characterization methods. The weld quality is characterized using ultrasonic-assisted non-destructive evaluation. A-scan result confirms that the ATIG welded samples have more DOP and less bead width as compared to conventional TIG. The recorded tensile strength of ATIG with SiO2 is better than the conventional TIG welding. The failure mode is ductile for ATIG welding with larger fracture edges and is brittle in the case of conventional TIG welding.

The objective of this study was to find major PAHs produced in ambient air from the automobile exhaust as a function of fuels (diesel, petrol, and biodiesel) and engine type qualitatively and quantitatively. The recovery range was found between 30% and 70%. The study was carried out on two, three, and four wheelers. Biodiesel samples tested in the study were synthesized indigenously from different starting raw materials and analyzed for PAHs concentration in the exhaust on a Honda genset (EBK 2000AC Model). Biodiesel samples were blended with diesel in different ratio (25:75, 35:65 and 45:55) to investigate the exhaust behavior. Biodiesel was blended with Diesel the concentration of almost all PAHs reduces in comparison to pure Diesel exhaust. B(a)A and B(a) P was the common PAH found in higher concentration in almost all fuels. FTIR results indicate esterification of vegetable oil and NMR results indicate a complete conversion of oils into biodiesel.

Opis:
C₂ seeds of autotetraploids (colchicine-induced) of two diverse genotypes, T 163 and 5064-S, of pea (Pisum sativum L.) and their corresponding diploids were irradiated with 10 kR gamma-ray. Autotetraploids showed a high seed-sterility as compared to diploids. Seed fertility increased in M₂ as compared to M₁. Both quadrivalent and bivalent frequencies decreased in the M₁ generation of autotetraploids in relation to their respective controls. However, a positive shift in the mean bivalent formation was noted at the cost of other configurations in C₃-M₂ with respect to C₂-M₁ and varied with the genotype. In the M₂ generation of autotetraploids, the variability was relatively higher for the number of pods per plant and seed yield per plant. Although the mean values for pods per plant, number of seeds per pod and seed yield per plant remained more or less parallel in autotetraploids in M₁ and M₂ generations, there was an increase in the upper range limit probably due to micromutation for these characters in M₂.

Opis:
The optical absorption spectra of lithium sodium potassium sulphate doped Ni$\text{}^{2+}$ ions at 300 and 77 K was recorded. The observed bands are assigned as transitions from the ground state $\text{}^{3}$A$\text{}_{2g}$(F) to various excited triplet and singlet states of the Ni$\text{}^{2+}$ ion in octahedral symmetry. The splittings observed for the bands $\text{}^{3}$T$\text{}_{1g}$(F) and $\text{}^{3}$T$\text{}_{2g}$(F) at liquid nitrogen temperature have been explained as due to spin-orbit interaction. The oscillator strengths of the transitions were computed from the area under the curves. From a detailed analysis of the bands of the spectrum, the crystal field parameters B, C, Dq and ξ are evaluated.
