In post-pandemic India the recovery in tourism has become known as ‘revenge’ meaning revenge on the disease. It is tourism due to the desperation to travel, especially in the current scenario in which those who have been confined to their homes have grown tired of being trapped there. The restless mood caused by the ongoing pandemic reached its peak and it is possible that this will eventually help in bringing back a rapid return to tourism. To analyze the travel intentions of potential tourists after the current pandemic ends, an attempt has been made to make an analysis of tourism in India to find out how Covid-19 is impacting on people’s lives and how willing they are to participate in tourism again.
W Indiach po złagodzeniu długotrwałych obostrzeń pandemicznych zaobserwowano zjawisko odradzania się podróżowania, znane pod nazwą turystyki zemsty (ang. revange tourism), traktowanej jako szczególny odwet na chorobie. Obserwowana dzisiaj potrzeba podróżowania wynika z desperackiej chęci odreagowania poczucia zmęczenia i uwięzienia we własnych domach. Niepokój wywołany pandemią osiągnął apogeum i możliwe jest, że przyczyni się do wznowienia ruchu turystycznego. W celu przeanalizowania intencji potencjalnych podróżnych podjęto próbę zbadania branży turystycznej w Indiach pod kątem wpływu COVID-19 na życie ludzi i ich chęci ponownego udziału w turystyce.

In this research, AA7068/Si3N4 composites were fabricated through stir casting with the attachment of ultrasonic treatment. The quenching medium and aging duration significantly influenced the hardness of Al alloy samples. Peak hardness was achieved after 12 h of artificial aging at the temperature of 140°C. The addition of nano Si3N4 significantly refined the microstructure of unreinforced AA7068. The dispersion of intermetallic compounds (MgZn2) and grain boundary discontinuation were noticed after the T-6 heat treatment. Ultimate tensile strength, yield strength, and hardness were improved by 70.95%, 76.19%, and 44.33%, respectively, with the addition of 1.5 weight % Si3N4 compared to as-cast alloy due to the combined effect of heat treatment, hall-Petch, Orowan, thermal miss match, load-bearing strengthening mechanisms and uniform dispersion of reinforcement. A reduction in percentage elongation was noticed due to composites’ brittle nature by the effect of ceramic Si3N4 particles’ inclusion. The fracture surfaces reveal ductile failure for alloy and mixed-mode failure in the case of composites.

The present work comprises the development of Al6061/nano Al2O3 composites with 0 to 4 weight percent in steps of 0.5 wt. % of nano alumina particles by using ultrasonic assisted stir casting. Casted samples were subjected to heat treatment and hot forging. Further forged and heat-treated gear blanks of nano Al2O3 (0 to 3.0 weight %) reinforced nanocomposites were machined to make spur gears for the wear test. The results have shown that nano Al2O3 reinforcement in the Al6061 matrix with heat treatment and forging improves the hardness and compressive strength up to 3.5 wt. %, after that, it starts decreasing because of the agglomeration of nano alumina particles. SEM results reveal grain refinement of the pure alloy after reinforcement. Removal of porosity and voids observed after forging operation. Wear resistance increasing with incorporation of Al2O3 nanoparticles in base alloy, reinforcement wt. %, precipitation hardening and hot forging also improves wear resistance and mechanical properties. These composites have widespread applications in gear, brake discs, crankshaft, clutch plates, pistons, and other components of automobiles and aircraft structures.

An effective adsorption model was developed by S. Nir in 1978 for predicting adsorption to synthetic membranes and was also adapted by him afterwards to clay minerals. The main principles of the model are the solution of the electrostatic Gouy-Chapman equations while calculating the adsorbed amounts of the cations as the sum of those residing in the double-layer region and the cations that are chemically bound in a closed system. Thus, the equilibrium concentration in solution is influenced by the adsorption as the function of the amounts bound. The model was later developed and adapted for the adsorption of METAL cations, and, in most cases, the fit of calculated results to measured adsorbed amounts of cations was very good, after calibrating the model for the chemical tested, with only two adjustable parameters for each chemical. In the current work, we tested the applicability of this model for the adsorption of a monovalent and a divalent METAL cation by several soils, by considering the cation exchange capacities (CEC) and the specific surface areas (SSA) of the soils. For three out of four soils, a very good fit was obtained by using the required parameters for the calculations from previous studies of cation adsorption on clay minerals. The main advantage of the presented model over Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherms is that no additional changes in the parameters were needed when the background concentration of salts in the suspensions was increased from 10 to 50 or 500 mM.

Stone columns (or granular piles, GPs) are progressively being utilized for ground improvement, mostly for pliant edifice such as road mounds, oil depot, and so forth. The present analysis is done by introducing strengthening at both the ends of GP, i.e., bottom and top end so that the bulging problem will be solved and the beneficiary effect of the bearing stratum can be utilized by the bottom strengthening feature. Analysis of a single partially strengthened, at both top and bottom, end-bearing GP is presented in this article in terms of displacement affecting component for the top (DACT) of GP, percentage load transferred to the base (PLTB) of strengthened GP, and normalized shear stress (NSS). The PLTB of the strengthened GP was found to increase considerably. The NSS was found to reduce at the top end of GP and is found to be redistributed along the length of GP.

This work describes the suitability of a nano-dimension slot with low index material in the core region to achieve a highly nonlinear, polarization maintaining and dispersion compensating photonic crystal fiber. Our design is composed of a spiral shaped photonic crystal fiber with an elliptical slot made of silicon nanocrystals in the core region. The simulated results show that high nonlinear coefficients at the 1.55 μm wavelength for quasi-TE mode and quasi-TM mode are found to be equal to 1348 and 638 W–1m–1, respectively. The proposed design offers high birefringence up to 0.2503 and large negative dispersion value –1228 ps/nm/km. The proposed fiber has immense potential for realization of all-optical signal processing devices/networks and sensing applications while maintaining its polarization.

In today’s time, construction is the main key for development of any nation, but land resources are getting deplete. Thus, construction on compressible soil is left as a choice. Stone columns or granular piles (GPs) are broadly used to advance the bearing capacity of crummy ground and lessen the displacement of construction serected on them. GP is the most efficient and cheap for ground improvement. Analysis of single partially strengthened (SPS) floating granular piled raft is presented in this paper in terms of several normalized aspects like vertical and radial displacement impact factors, settlement impact factor (SIF) for any depth, the normalized GP–soil interface shear and radial stresses, the load ratio, i.e., the percentage of the load taken by the GP and raft to the total load, and the normalized contact pressure distribution below the raft, which are evaluated for SPS floating granular piled raft. The SIF for top of GP is noticed to decline with the surge in the values of the strengthening parameters. The interfacial shear stresses get reorganized along the length of the GP.

In this paper, a novel double-layer multiband circularly polarized microstrip patch antenna is proposed. The design employs the concept of slotted patch fed with proximity coupled feed having defected ground plane (DGS). The proposed antenna achieves multiple operating frequency bands including FB1 (11.15 GHz), FB2 (4.17 GHz), FB3 (4.87 GHz) and FB4 (1.98 GHz). The proposed antenna has obtained bandwidth of 12.98%, 4.7%, 4.69% and 5.39% at FB1, FB2, FB3 and FB4 bands, respectively. The proposed antenna also exhibits circular polarization in the frequency band FB4. The 3dB ARBW of the antenna is 9.23% at 11.2 GHz. Finally, a metallic cavity is used with the antenna to achieve a unidirectional radiation pattern. The designed antenna radiation characteristics are verified with the experimental results.

Introduction: A 66-year-old male complained of throat discomfort and odynophagia. Laryngeal fiber optic examination was normal but narrow band imaging was suspicious. USG-FNAC from a cervical lymph node was positive for malignant metastatic carcinoma cells. CECT revealed obliteration of the left pyriform fossa till the level of cricoid cartilage, abutting the ala of the thyroid cartilage, arytenoid cartilage and prevertebral muscles. UGIE revealed an ulcerated mass lesion in the left pyriform fossa. Histopathological examination revealed stratified non-keratinized squamous epithelial lined tissue with subepithelial stroma showing large round to polygonal tumour cells. The tumour cells were surrounded by a lymphoid stroma. On immunohistochemistry the tumour cells were positive for pancytokeratin and negative for CD45, chromogranin and synaptophysin. Lymphocytes were positive for CD45. The diagnosis of lymphoepithelial carcinoma was established. The tumour was inoperable and was treated by radiotherapy. Conclusions: Lymphoepithelial carcinoma is the primary entity of the nasopharynx but rarely seen at sites like oropharynx, larynx and hypopharynx. Only around 50 non-nasopharyngeal cases have been reported till date out of which only 10–12 were in the hypopharynx. Radiotherapy is the mainstay of treatment whereas surgery can be considered for a local disease.

Wstęp: 66-letni mężczyzna uskarżał się na dyskomfort gardła i ból przy przełykaniu. Wynik badania fiberoskopowego krtani był prawidłowy, natomiast podejrzenia budził obraz uzyskany z użyciem wąskiej wiązki obrazowania. Uzyskano dodatni wynik badania USG-FNAC pod kątem obecności złośliwych, przerzutowych komórek rakowych. W badaniu tomografii komputerowej szyi z kontrastem uwidoczniono zatarcie lewego zachyłka gruszkowatego do poziomu chrząstki pierścieniowatej, stykające się ze skrzydłami chrząstki tarczowatej, chrząstką nalewkowatą i mięśniami przedkręgowymi. W badaniu endoskopowym GOPP ujawniono obecność owrzodzonej masy w lewym zachyłku gruszkowatym. Badanie histopatologiczne wykazało obecność stratyfikowanej, wyścielonej niezrogowaciałym nabłonkiem płaskokomórkowym tkanki z dużymi kolistymi lub wielokątnymi komórkami nowotworowymi widocznymi w zrębie podnabłonkowym. Komórki nowotworowe były otoczone zrębem limfatycznym. W badaniu immunohistochemicznym komórki nowotworowe dały wynik dodatni dla pancytokeratyny i ujemny dla: CD45, chromograniny i synaptofizyny. Limfocyty dały wynik dodatni dla CD45. Postawiono rozpoznanie raka limfonabłonkowego. Ze względu na nieoperacyjność guza w leczeniu, zastosowano radioterapię. Wnioski: Nabłoniak chłonny jest pierwotnym guzem nosogardzieli, lecz rzadko obserwuje się go w miejscach, takich jak: gardło środkowe, krtań i gardło dolne. Do dzisiaj zgłoszono jedynie około 50 przypadków pozanosogardłowych, w tym jedynie 10–12 zlokalizowanych w gardle dolnym. Podstawą leczenia jest radioterapia, choć w przypadkach zmian miejscowych można rozważać operację chirurgiczną.
