In the paper, the preeliminary study of chitosan micro and nanospheres precipitation due to two reverse emulsions (W/O) coalescence is described. The composition conditions, which must be filled to obtain stable reverse emulsion is pointed out. Furthermore, the parameters of ultrasonic emulsification and coalescence technique are presented and finally, morphological study of obtained micro and nanospheres are discussed.

System motywacyjny, a zwłaszcza wartości i postawy, jakie premiuje, wpływa na sprawność działania pracowników, ich zadowolenie z pracy oraz realizację celów przedsiębiorstwa. Jeżeli będą oni odpowiednio motywowani, będą zaspokajane ich potrzeby, a odpowiednie warunki pracy spowodują większe zadowolenie. Żeby te cele realizować, należy podjąć inicjatywy mające na celu usprawnienie działania pracowników oraz podwyższenie ich satysfakcji z pracy. Właśnie dlatego doskonalenie systemu motywacyjnego to nadal aktualny i ważny temat w naukach o zarządzaniu i jakości. Jednym z elementów zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi jest motywowanie pracowników, które stało się przedmiotem badań. Ich celem były ocena i doskonalenie systemu motywacyjnego w firmie transportowej. Wyniki prezentowano w podziale na grupy według: zajmowanego stanowiska, odbytego stażu, wieku i wykształcenia. W badaniu wykorzystano analizy Kruskala-Wallisa. Wyniki poprzedzono analizą literatury w zakresie przedmiotu pracy. Wnioskuje się, że występuje grupa osób, dla których system motywacyjny nie jest zrozumiały. Należy go udoskonalić dla pracowników z najdłuższym stażem, aby przeciwdziałać rutynie w ich motywacji.
The motivation system, and especially the values and attitudes it awards, affects the efficiency of employees, their work satisfaction and the achievement of company goals. If employees are properly motivated, their needs will be met and the appropriate working conditions will result in greater satisfaction. In order to achieve these goals, initiatives should be taken to improve the performance of employees and increase their job satisfaction. The evaluation of the motivation system is still a current and important topic in management and quality sciences. Efficient human resource management allows the company to achieve its goals. One of the elements of human resource management is motivating employees, which has become the subject of this research. The aim of the research was to evaluate the motivation system in a company from the transport industry, according to: the position held, duration of employment, age and education. Kruskal-Wallis analyses were used in the study. The results were preceded by an analysis of the literature on the subject of the work. The conclusion is that there is a group of people for whom the motivation system is not understandable. The system among senior employees should be improved to counteract the routine in their motivation.

Sustainability manufacturing is crucial in many aspects in terms of environmental impact. It concerns the consumption of energy, raw materials and materials, as well as the emission of harmful substances and waste. The implementation of sustainability manufacturing requires many actions at various levels, including strategic, tactical and operational ones. In order to implement measures aimed at minimizing the negative impact of the company on the environment, employees’ competencies are needed. The article presents preliminary research on key green competencies for sustainability companies. The research was carried out in the form of individual interviews with medium and large production companies. The result of the research is the division of competencies (knowledge, skills and attitudes) into three stages of the organization’s development, indicating the key competencies for each stage of the development of sustainability management.

Niniejszy artykuł ma na celu przedstawienie czynników mających wpływ na przyspieszanie nabywania kompetencji przekrojowych studentów oraz prezentację wybranych wyników po testowaniu jednego z procesów przyspieszania nabywania kompetencji przekrojowych. Badania przeprowadzono w ramach projektu międzynarodowego „Metoda akceleracji rozwoju kompetencji przekrojowych w procesie kształcenia praktycznego”. Projekt zrealizowano na 6 uczelniach w 4 krajach Unii Europejskiej na podstawie opracowanych wcześniej procesów testowania przyspieszania nabywania kompetencji przekrojowych wśród studentów zawierających przynajmniej 3 wybrane metody kształcenia praktycznego. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że głównymi czynnikami wpływającymi na podnoszenie poziomu kompetencji przekrojowych są czynniki związane z metodyką nauczania stosowaną na uczelniach wyższych, gdzie studenci są aktywne włączani w proces kształcenia oraz korzysta się z informacji zwrotnej studentów.
The goal of this article is to present different factors influencing the acceleration of the development of students’ transversal competences also the presentation of chosen results after testing one of the process that accelerate the development of transversal competence. The research were done in international project under the name „The acceleration method of development of transversal competences in the students’ practical training process”. It was held by 6 universities form 4 EU countries based on processes that were designed in the project and tested among the students. Each process had at minimum three teaching methods that had been discovered and described at the beginning of the project. The results of research shows, that the main factors influencing the development of transversal competences are those connected with teaching methods used at universities, where the students’ feedback has been used and students were actively involved in teaching process.

Purpose: The EU’s guidelines exert an important influence on companies aiming to accelerate the implementation of green measures and minimise their negative environmental impacts. The objective of this paper is to define the key categories of green organisations and green competences whose development can accelerate the implementation of green processes in companies. Design/methodology/approach: Based on the literature review, a semi-structured qualitative research questionnaire was developed and a pilot study was conducted on four large manufacturing companies. Findings: A list of categories of activities linked to green organisations was developed and key components of green competences were defined. It was shown that performance-related managerial competences are the most important components of green competences for the companies. It was also pointed out that the categories that are the components of green 19 organisations are important and that the degree to which they are met has been increasing over time in recent years. Research limitations/implications: The pilot study was conducted with middle and senior 22 level representatives of four manufacturing companies. Its conclusions will be used to continue the research with a larger sample. Practical implications: The results of the study will allow companies to better adapt to the challenges of sustainability and green organisations. Key green competences and an emphasis on their development in the companies will allow more green organisation areas to be achieved more quickly. Social implications: The development of green organisations has a direct influence on minimising the negative environmental impacts and thereby improving the quality of life for everyone in society. Originality/value: Based on the analysis of the literature, it can be stated that there is no clear definition of green organisations while the variety of measures and their nomenclature in the area of sustainability is extensive. Research in that area contributes to the development of the science of management and quality and represents an important new field of research. This paper is meant for researchers and practitioners as well as HR representatives who work with the issue of green competences and green organisations.

Isoenzyme M2 pyruvate kinase, which is a marker of cancer transformation, can take both tetramer (cytosol) and dimer (nucleus) forms. The former is responsible for ATP synthesis, and the latter demonstrates histone H1 kinase activity. Regulation of the expression of pyruvate kinase through which Akt controls the expression of genes involved in Ehrlich ascites tumour (EAT) cell proliferation, migration and death, also involves cross-talk with the other signalling pathways, transcription factors and co-regulatory proteins such as β-catenin and c-Myc. Treatment of EAT cells with chitosans significantly reduced their proliferation (by 45-60%), expression of nuclear β-catenin, c-Myc as well as cell migration. After 48–72 hours of treatment of the cell with oligochitosans, lower levels of p-Akt were detected. Simultaneously, decreased expression of isoenzyme M2 PK protein levels was observed. The dimeric form (nucleus) can participate in H1 histone phosphorylation, which contributes to increased EAT cell proliferation.

Opis:
A decrease in migration of tumor cells incubated with the investigated chitosan preparations was correlated with a decreased activity of MMP-2 and MMP-9 metalloproteinases, what significantly affected inhibition of tumor cell proliferation. In the investigations of the effects of various chitosan preparations on expression of PCNA, Akt and β-catenin in the normal human 184A1 cells and in breast carcinoma MCF7 cells evaluated at the protein level, significant differences in inhibition of expression of selected genes were noted in the tumor cells. Similarly as in the case of human cells, in mouse cells, the differences in expression of the investigated genes involved solely the Ehrlich carcinoma cells. In the presence of the investigated chitosan preparations, there was observed inhibition of expression of the N-cadherin, β-catenin, Akt and PCNA genes. In case of p21 protein, its level increased, similarly as in the human breast carcinoma cells, what may also be related to phosphorylation of the protein, its capture by the cytosol and prolonging its half-life as compared to the non-phosphorylated form. In case of the normal human 181A1 cells and mouse CRL 1636 cells, no significant alterations were noted in expression of the investigated genes in presence of the employed chitosan preparations.

Among characteristic properties of cancers, there is their increased glycolytic activity.Contrary to normal cells, neoplastic cells use anaerobic glycolysis, even when a sufficient amount of oxygen is available. The intensity of the process is associated with a considerable demand for energy in the form of ATP. Akt, which - acting through the mTOR pathway - activates the HIF-1 factor, which in turn activates hexokinase that participates in glucose phosphorylation, stimulates the transport of glucose to cells via increasing glucose transporters (GLUT) and activates lactate dehydrogenase (which transforms pyruvate to lactate). Chitosan, as well as products of its degradation - oligochitosans - contribute to inhibiting the activity of the Akt kinase, and thus contribute to inhibiting excessive glycolytic activity of Ehrlich ascites tumor (EAT) cells and to decreasing proliferation of these cells.

Peripheral nerve injuries are one of frequent cause of disability. Results of surgical procedures are not still completely satisfactory, though fast development of microsurgical technician improve their efficiency. One of the major problems in surgical treatment of the peripheral nerve injuries is ends coaptation in the case of large loss of nerve tissue. And so finding substitute implants not rejected by the organism for the recipient and providing with the success is necessary of regeneration. Recently, several synthetic nerve guide implants have been introduced and approved for clinical use to replace autologous transplants. This alternative therapy is based on pioneering studies with experimental nerve guides. This paper present a review of published studies involving biodegradable nerve guides.

In the first part of this paper we give necessary and sufficient conditions for some special classes of digraphs to have a (k,l)-kernel. One of them is the duplication of a set of vertices in a digraph. This duplication come into being as the generalization of the duplication of a vertex in a graph (see [4]). Another one is the D-join of a digraph D and a sequence α of nonempty pairwise disjoint digraphs. In the second part we prove theorems, which give necessary and sufficient conditions for special digraphs presented in the first part to be (k,l)-kernel-perfect digraphs. The concept of a (k,l)-kernel-perfect digraph is the generalization of the well-know idea of a kernel perfect digraph, which was considered in [1] and [6].

The concept of (k,l)-kernels of digraphs was introduced in [2]. Next, H. Galeana-Sanchez [4] proved a sufficient condition for a digraph to have a (k,l)-kernel. The result generalizes the well-known theorem of P. Duchet and it is formulated in terms of symmetric pairs of arcs. Our aim is to give necessary and sufficient conditions for digraphs without symmetric pairs of arcs to have a (k,l)-kernel. We restrict our attention to special superdigraphs of digraphs Pₘ and Cₘ.

Niniejszy artykuł poświęcony jest możliwościom tworzenia randomizowanych zadań matematycznych, jakie daje zastosowanie systemu algebry komputerowej STACK (System for Teaching and Assessment using a Computer algebra Kernel). Przedstawione są w nim przykłady takich zadań, na bazie których autorki tego artykułu stworzyły na uczelnianej platformie Moodle kurs „Matematyka” dla wszystkich studentów pierwszego roku Zachodniopomorskiego Uniwersytetu Technologicznego w Szczecinie. W czasach pandemii wirusa SARS-CoV-2 okazał się on nieocenionym następcą tradycyjnych zbiorów zadań. System STACK umożliwia bowiem przekazanie studentowi pełnego rozwiązania wylosowanej przez niego wersji zadania, pobieranie wprowadzonego rozwiązania i dostosowanie do niego odpowiedzi zwrotnej. Daje zatem możliwość przeprowadzania bieżącej kontroli efektów kształcenia oraz rzetelnych egzaminów zdalnych kończących daną formę zajęć.
This article focuses on the possibilities of creating randomized mathematical problems provided by the STACK system, which is an open source automatic assessment tool, which is based on the Maxima Computer Algebra System. This publication contains examples of the tasks used by the authors to create ‘Mathematics’ course on the university’s Moodle platform. The above mentioned course was aimed at first-year students of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin. During the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic it proved to be the invaluable replacement for the traditional set of tasks. The STACK system enables students to transmit a complete solution of a randomly selected version of the task along with dynamic drawings made with GeoGebra. It is also possible to download the solution introduced by the student and adapt the feedback. In addition, there is also an option of a gradual construction of the exercise where the mistakes made by the student in each stage do not disqualify the entire task and allow to check whether it is consistently solved till the end. Opis:
Polysaccharides are macromolecular polymers that manifest ability toward the forming of fibres, film and coatings. Some of their specific properties like biodegradability and biocompatibility make them suitable for medical application. Chitin, chitosan and alginates are basic polymers mostly used in the preparation of medical biomaterials. In the Institute of Biopolymers and Chemical Fibres (IBWCh) multidirectional investigations are in full swing concerned with the use medical of polysaccharides and their various useful forms. The research includes amongst: multifunctional dressing materials, implants and other polysaccharide biomaterials.
