Opis:
We present the hole-related electrical activity of the InAs quantum dots embedded in the n-type GaAs. We performed our experiments with the use of the Laplace and conventional deep level transient spectroscopies combined with the above GaAs band-gap illumination. We observed that depending on temperature and electric field the hole emission process is an interplay between the pure thermal emission and tunnelling processes. The tunnelling was quantitatively described by a simple model of the potential barrier.

Opis:
Miejsca Obsługi Podróżnych (MOP) stanowią ważny element podstawowego układu dróg dla podróży długodystansowych. Mają też istotne znaczenie dla planowania przewozu towarów, w tym towarów niebezpiecznych, które wymagają od przewoźnika i kierowcy zapewnienia wysokich standardów bezpieczeństwa transportu. W Polsce MOP są lokalizowane wyłącznie przy drogach klas A (autostrady) i S (drogi ekspresowe). Jednocześnie zauważalny jest niewielki udział MOP zapewniających wysoki standard bezpieczeństwa, przez zapewnienie monitoringu lub ochrony miejsc postojowych. W artykule autorzy przedstawiają przegląd przepisów prawa jakie wiążą się z tematyką przewozów materiałów niebezpiecznych w kontekście postoju pojazdów na MOP. Scharakteryzowano również ogólną sytuację MOP w Polsce uwzględniając bezpieczeństwo przewożenia ładunków i dostępność MOP o podwyższonych standardach ochrony pojazdów.
Rest and parking areas (RaPA) are one of the core elements of long-distance travels planning. Its meaning is even greater regarding the route planning of dangerous goods transportation. Dangerous goods require then maintaining higher security standards, which is the obligation of both driver and the haulage company. RaPA are located only along A (highways) and S (dual carriageway) class roads in Poland. Moreover, there is a significant lack of RaPA providing higher security standards by security guards or monitoring services. Authors present review of applicable rules regarding dangerous goods transportation in scope of RaPA places in Poland. Additionally, the article presents characteristic of the overall RaPA accessibility concerning security threat in Poland.

In recent years, both in Poland and throughout Europe the number of road accidents and the number of people injured and killed in these cases systematically decreases (despite a slight increase in 2011). Despite the general goals of EU transport policy for years 2000-2010 have not been fulfilled (the number of fatalities in road accidents have not been reduced by half in these years) the Commission on Mobility and Transport is continuing its efforts to reduce the number of accidents, which resulted in the EP resolution of 27th August, 2011. Under this policy, the EU Member States are forced to develop and implement appropriate procedures and requirements associated with road safety analysis in the near future. An important obligation have been introduced with the Directive 2008/96/EC, stating the compulsory road safety audits (RSA) should be carried on TEN-T road network. European Parliament also announced extension of this obligation on other public roads in the near future. These aspirations could be supported with modern engineering and research technology. In following article, authors describe the possibilities of using eyetracking technologies in studies over road safety analysis. Therefore, modern eyetracking devices were characterized, with particular emphasis on its possible use in the study of driver's behaviours in road traffic conditions. Also, a brief analysis of the methodology of the eyetracking experiments in traffic conditions and their results was presented, indicating possibilities of carrying RSA using similar equipment. In the last chapter authors, discuss possible use of eyetracking technologies in studies of road safety analysis in the context of the existing law in European Union and each member's law regulation system.

W pracy przedstawiono analizę profili związków lotnych szynek surowo dojrzewających przy zastosowaniu techniki SPME (mikroekstrakcja do fazy stałej) w połączeniu z GC-MS (chromatografia gazowa sprzężona ze spektrometrią mas) oraz technikami chemometrycznymi PCA (analiza składowych głównych) i CA (analiza skupień). Przebadano szynki pochodzące: z Hiszpanii – Serrano, z Włoch – Parma, Crudo, Mantovelle, z Polski – kumpiak podlaski i z Niemiec – Schinkenspeck. W przebadanych szynkach zidentyfikowano 61 związków lotnych, które zakwalifikowano do następujących grup: aldehydy (14), ketony (3), alkohole (7), estry (9), alkany (6), węglowodory aromatyczne (2), kwasy (4), związki heterocykliczne (1), terpeny (11), fenole (1), inne (3). Dominującymi grupami były aldehydy i alkohole. Stwierdzono obecność alifatycznych aldehydów nasyconych (2-metylobutanalu i 3-metylobutanalu), które stanowią dobry wskaźnik procesu oksydacji, zachodzącego w szynkach surowo dojrzewających oraz produktów utleniania kwasów tłuszczowych (heksanal, oktanal). Obróbka chemometryczna umożliwiła zróżnicowanie badanego materiału oraz rozróżnienie szynek między innymi ze względu na technologię produkcji. Po zastosowaniu analizy składowych głównych oraz analizy skupień wyodrębniono 4 grupy szynek: włoskie i hiszpańskie, szynkę polską i szynkę niemiecką. Połączenie analizy instrumentalnej z metodami chemometrycznymi może być użyteczne do określania pochodzenia produktu i jego autentyczności.
In the research study, the analysis is presented of profiles of volatile compounds in dry-cured hams using SPME (solid phase microextraction) together with GC-MS and chemometric techniques of PCA (principal component analysis) and CA (cluster analysis). Seven dry-cured hams from different European countries were analyzed: Serrano ham from Spain, Parma, Crudo, and Mantovelle hams from Italy, kumpiak podlaski ham from Poland, and Schinkenspeck ham from Germany. In the hams analyzed, 61 volatile compounds were identified and classified in the following groups: aldehydes (14), ketones (3), alcohols (7), esters (9), alkanes (6), aromatic hydrocarbons (2), acids (4), heterocyclic compounds (1), terpenes (11), phenols (1) and others (3). The prevailing groups were aldehydes and alcohols. It was found that the saturated aliphatic aldehydes (2-metylobutanal and 3-metylobutanal) were present in the hams; they are a good indicator of the oxidation process ongoing in the dry-cued hams; moreover, there were found products of fatty acid oxidation (hexanal, octanal). The chemometric treatment made it possible to diversify the material under analysis and to identify hams based, among other things, on the production technology. On the basis of the analysis of principal components and cluster analysis, 4 groups of hams were defined: Italian and Spanish, Polish ham, and German ham. The combination of instrumental analysis and chemometric methods can be useful for determining the origin of product and its authenticity.

Problem ujęto w kontekście przestrzegania zasad bezpieczeństwa i higieny pracy z pestycydami.
This article presents ways and frequency of the use of pesticides in agricultural work across the world; this is done on the basis of original data from new publications. It considers communications on indirect exposure to pesticides of family members not employed in agriculture. The problem is discussed in the context of complying with the rules of occupational safety rules and health for work with pesticides.

Article describes research stand that recreates voltage signal that corresponds with acceleration signal in real collision and transmits it to the input of collision detection module in mass produced airbag controller. This research stand was prepared in the scope of research and development project „Research on methodology of eCall automatic notification system of road accident”. This research stand makes possible to recreate signals with differential amplitude and gradient registered during collision of real vehicles, in which airbags were running or not. There were also conducted studies on road accident detection algorithm, which was implemented in mass produced controllers for airbags of Volkswagen’s group cars. Appropriate software enabled possibility to restore default state of airbag from the beginning of simulation. This paper presents results of project’s studies.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems are already widespread over the world. Their performance, both with high computational efficiency of modern computers make them a very good solution to use in traffic supervision and management systems in the city and at the regional level in the scope of safety and security services. The most popular way of use ANPR systems concerns detection of violations in traffic law. In Poland implementation of ANPR systems is at the starting point. There is still a noticeable lack of integrated area solutions, and currently used ANPR systems could not reach their full potential. In the following article authors introduced basic problems of application of the ANPR systems in Poland due to the legal requirements. Moreover paper presents selected functional aspects of ANPR systems.

The article describes some algorithms for collision detection used in modern cars airbag systems. While controlling the activation of airbags and other passive safety systems, installed in modern vehicles, the algorithms must operate in the early stage of accident, because for operating effectively it is necessary to run control systems early enough, for example filling airbags before the body of the driver or passenger reaches the zone of airbag. These algorithms could be applied into the on-board eCall modules, but they would require calibration. Detection of the collision that activates eCall system must be made on the basis of measurable signals or observable events, which intensity can be relatively clearly linked to the probability serious injury of the driver and the passengers’ of the vehicle. A table summary presented in this article contains a description of the collision detection algorithm along with a brief description of the method of detection and description of the used methodology. A frequently used method is to evaluate the gradient of the change of speed - the parameter ..V, or its combinations with different parameters, such as the derivative of acceleration, displacement, and energy of the collision. Each of the algorithms has been briefly described. The whole of article is summarized with the conclusions arising from its content.
