The paper presents an idea of using the Kalman Filtering (KF) for learning the Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). It is shown that KF can be fully competitive or more beneficial method with comparison standard Artificial Neural Networks learning techniques. The development of the method is presented respecting selective learning of chosen part of ANN. Another issue presented in this paper is the author’s concept of automatic selection of architecture of ANN learned by means of KF based on removing unnecessary connection inside the network. The effectiveness of presented ideas is illustrated on the examples of time series modeling and prediction. Considered data came from the experiments and situ measurements in the field of structural mechanics and materials.

The aim of the paper is to present the possibilities of modeling the experimental data by Gaussian processes. Genetic algorithms are used for finding the Gaussian process parameters. The paper presents an original – worked out by the authors - way of on-line detecting the damages of a large turbogenerator core and stator winding. The distillate temperature measured at the outlet from the stator winding coils is a diagnostic signal. It was shown, using the stator thermal model developed, that the considered turbogenerator damages cause a measurable increase in the distillate temperature in some outlet boxes. The proposed way of prevention diagnostics enables determination of the kind and location of a damage as well as the preliminary estimation of its size. It allows elimination of wide damages of turbogenerators. The exemplary calculations were carried out for a 230 MW turbogenerator which is very common in the Polish power system.

There is a method of application of output water from stator winding bars temperature measurement for on-line diagnostics of stator core teeth presented in the paper. In generators working at changeable load teeth failure in the end part region of stator core often happen. Lack of sensors for core temperature measurement makes it impossible to detect such kind of failures at the time when it appears. Laminations short-circuit in the end teeth cause „iron fire”. The large local temperature increases failures of bars insulation and stator windings short-circuit ground. The result of the research is determination a thermal model of the turbogenerator stator including the phenomenon „iron fire”. The results obtained during the investigations proved that the output water from stator winding bars temperature measurement is sufficient for diagnostics of the stator core teeth.

Opis:
Thermal measurements of turbogenerators in power plants show often excessive heating of stator elements in the end region. The paper presents results of thermal measurements performed on several 380 MW turbogenerators and thermal damages of stator end elements. A thermal model for overheated stator elements of the turbogenerator was developed. Various temperatures measured in the stator end elements of turbogenerators of the same type at the same electromagnetic load, suggests emergence of short-circuits between steel sheets located under the clamping plate or decrease of ventilating duct permeability in the core. The thermal calculations confirm this hypothesis. The verified by measurements thermal models can be very useful in developing modernization projects of turbogenerators for increasing their rated power.

Celem pracy jest przedstawienie zmienności podstawowych właściwości, takich jak: średniej wielkości ziarna, twardości, wytrzymałości na rozciąganie, granicy plastyczności i wydłużenia stopów aluminium, w zależności od składu chemicznego, w oparciu o stopy serii 7xxx, zgodnie z normą PN-EN 573-3:2013, na wybranych przykładach. Uwagę skupiono przede wszystkim na ocenie jakości wlewków wykonanych ze stopów EN AW-7003 oraz EN AW-7010. Badania i obserwacje prowadzono na próbkach pobranych z wlewków homogenizowanych, o średnicach ø224 i ø254 mm, wykonanych w Zakładzie Wlewków Grupy KĘTY S.A. z siedzibą w Kętach. Badania składu chemicznego, właściwości wytrzymałościowych, makro- oraz mikrostruktury otrzymanych prób przeprowadzono w Centrum Badawczo-Rozwojowym Grupy KĘTY. Uzupełniające badania składu chemicznego i mikrostruktury wykonano w Laboratorium Naukowo- Dydaktycznym Badań Metali, Stopów i Zabytków Metalowych na Wydziale Odlewnictwa Akademii Górniczo-Hutniczej w Krakowie, w Katedrze Tworzyw Formierskich, Technologii Formy i Odlewnictwa Metali Nieżelaznych. Stopy aluminium należą obecnie do szeroko stosowanych tworzyw w różnych gałęziach przemysłu. Ma na to wpływ ciągłe doskonalenie procesów rafinacji i modyfikacji. Skład chemiczny analizowanych wlewków mieści się w granicach ujętych normą, co świadczy o właściwym przygotowaniu procesu produkcji. Przeprowadzenie kompletnej analizy jest jednak trudne z powodu równocześnie zmieniających się wielu parametrów procesu produkcyjnego.
The main purpose of this thesis is to present a variation of the basic properties of aluminium alloys depending on the chemical composition based on the 7xxx series alloys, according with PN-EN 573-3:2013. Attention is focused primarily on the quality of ingots made of alloys EN AW-7003 and EN AW-7010. Studies and observations were carried out on samples taken from the homogenised ingots. The study of chemical composition, mechanical properties, the macro - and microstructure was conducted at Centre for Research and Development Group KĘTY. Supplement testing of the chemical composition and microstructure were performed in the Science and Teaching Laboratory of Metals, Alloys and Metal Monuments at Faculty of Foundry Engineering of University of Science and Technology in Krakow, in the Department of Moulding Materials, Mould Technology and Cast Non-Ferrous Metal. Nowadays aluminum alloys are widely used in various areas of industry. This is influenced by the continuous improvement of the refining and modification processes. Chemical composition of analyzed ingots is within the recognized standard, which proves that appropriate preparation of the production of ingots. Carry out a complete analysis is difficult because at the same time changing many of parameters.

Opis:
Results of numerical calculations of heat exchange in a nuclear heating detector for nuclear reactors are presented in this paper. The gamma radiation is generated in nuclear reactor during fission and radiative capture reactions as well as radioactive decay of its products. A single-cell calorimeter has been designed for application in the MARIA research reactor in the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) in Świerk near Warsaw, Poland, and can also be used in the Jules Horowitz Reactor (JHR), which is under construction in the research centre in Cadarache, France. It consists of a cylindrical sample, which is surrounded by a gas layer, contained in a cylindrical housing. Additional calculations had to be performed before its insertion into the reactor. Within this analysis, modern computational fuid dynamics (CFD) methods have been used for assessing important parameters, for example, mean surface temperature, mean volume temperature, and maximum sample (calorimeter core) temperature. Results of an experiment performed at a dedicated out-of-pile calibration bench and results of numerical modelling validation are also included in this paper.

The main challenge of this research was to functionalize the surface of poly(L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) membranes with amphiphilic poly(2-oxazoline) (POx) in order to change PLGA chemical state and properties. Poly(2-oxazolines) are very powerful polymers, which thanks to active pendant groups can be easily functionalized with biologically active molecules or peptides. The membranes were prepared by dissolving PLGA, POx, and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG, 1000 Da) in methylene chloride (DCM), followed by PEG leaching. POx molecules were preferentially adsorbed at the interface PLGA-POx-PEG thanks to affinity to both hydrophilic (PEG) and hydrophobic (PLGA) chains. The properties of the membranes were characterized with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and wettability tests. Cytocompatibility of the materials in contact with osteoblast-like MG-63 cells was studied by evaluation of cell viability (Alamar-Blue test), live/dead and phalloidin/DAPI staining. The results show that the presence of POx influenced topography of the PLGA membranes, but did not have an impact on their wettability. All membranes were fo-und cytocompatible with model osteoblasts. Presence of POx resulted in better cell adhesion as shown by microscopic studies after fluorescence staining for nuclei and cytoskeleton actin filaments. In summary, one-step phase separation process between PLGA, PEG, and POx, dissolved in DCM followed by drying and PEG leaching resulted in cytocompatible PLGA membranes with immobilised POx, which might be considered for guided tissue regeneration technique in periodontology and in bone tissue engineering.

The static (dc) and dynamic (ac) magnetic measurements of $CdCr_2Se_4$ and $Cd[Cr_{1.89}Ti_{0.08}]Se_4$ showed their ferromagnetic properties with a Curie temperature $T_{C}$ ≈ 130 K and revealed on the real component of ac susceptibility curve, the peaks near $T_{C}$ at 200 Oe, 450 Oe and 1 kOe, characteristic for the Hopkinson ones. The meaningful reduction of saturation moment to 4.73 $μ_{B}$/f.u. for $Cd[Cr_{1.89}Ti_{0.08}]Se_4$ suggests the diamagnetic configuration of Ti ions, which dilutes the ferromagnetic sublattice of Cr ones and causes reducing of the energy losses visible on the imaginary components of ac susceptibility curve. Close for zero values of higher susceptibility harmonics above $T_{C}$ are pointing out to the lack of the spin fluctuations in the paramagnetic state.

The electrical and complex ac dynamic magnetic susceptibility measurements were used to study an influence of temperature on critical fields in single-crystalline $Zn_{x}Sb_{y}Cr_{z}Se_{4}$ spinel system with y = 0.11, 0.16 and 0.20. The p-type conduction and a shift both of the Néel temperature $T_{N}$ to lower temperatures and a susceptibility peak at $T_{m}$ in the paramagnetic region - to higher temperatures were established. Below $T_{N}$ the magnetic field dependence of susceptibility, $χ_{ac}(H)$, shows two peaks. First peak at the critical field $H_{c1}$ slightly decreases with temperature and remains almost constant as Sb content increases. Second peak at the critical field $H_{c2}$ drops rapidly with temperature and remains almost unchanged as Sb content increases. At $T_{N}$ both critical fields disappear.

Magnetization, ac and dc magnetic susceptibility measured in the zero-field-cooled mode were used to study the high spin-low spin transitions in polycrystalline $Cu_{0.2}Co_{0.76}Cr_{1.83}Se_4$ semiconductor. The real part component of fundamental susceptibility $χ_1^\prime$ (T) and its second $(χ_2)$ and third $(χ_3)$ harmonics revealed two spectacular peaks at 128 K and at 147 K, confirming the appearance of the spin-crossover phenomenon.

The objectives of this study were to confirm the shape memory behavior of two new bioresorbable terpolymers (L-lactide, glycolide, and trimethylene carbonate: L-PLGTMC and B-PLGTMC), to follow the influence of the shape memory process on their surface properties and to test their cytocompatibility using osteoblast-like cells. For this purpose, foils of both terpolymers were prepared. The terpolymers' ability to recover up to 92-93% of the memorized shape within 10 seconds was obtained. The influence of shape memory process on the surface properties was assessed by water contact angle (WCA) measurement and atomic force microscopy (AFM) and the results suggested that both terpolymers preserved the hydrophilicity after recovery and also that B-PLGTMC polymer was rougher than L-PLGTMC (about 9 folds more). The AFM pictures showed the presence of spherical shape hills on the B-PLGTMC foil surface which after the stretching procedure became oriented toward the direction of the applied load. The terpolymers were seeded on both sides (Top and Bottom faces) with human MG63 osteoblast-like cells. Cell viability was assessed after 1, 3 and 7 days, using MTT assay. Results revealed an increasing number of metabolically active cells with the incubation time, suggesting, together with nitric oxide (NO) level determination, the cytocompatibility of both terpolymers. Cell spreading and morphology were investigated by H&E staining and obtained results corresponded well with ones of MTT and NO.
