Opis:
It is well known that water coning is a difficult-to-solve problem in heavy oil reservoirs with bottom water. A promising solution is offered by the downhole water sink (DWS) technology – a dual well completion technique for water coning control in reservoirs with bottom aquifer. In the field case addressed in this study, a DWS well was installed in a heavy oil reservoir underlined by thin water zone – notorious for severe water coning problem. Initially, the two well’s completions had no separating packer; Later, the well was recompleted with packer and displayed much improved oil productivity and water coning control. However, after accidental shutdown of the bottom (water sink) completion and continuing production from the top (oil pay) completion the well was rapidly watered out and shut down. In this study, the well’s production history is analyzed to better understand dynamics of water coning control with packer-less DWS and the effect of temporary water sink shut-down. The analysis is performed with a radial grid-based simulation model using the reservoir properties and well production data. An adequate history match is achieved by tweaking reservoir properties within their uncertainty range – mostly the relative permeability and capillary pressure curves. The packer-less completion displays steady invasion of water to the top oil completion through the gravel pack with no separating packer. The analysis also confirms detrimental effect of sole temporary shutdown of the water sink (bottom) production that caused rapid buildup of water saturation in the oil pay zone around the well. This work also evaluates possible restoration of oil productivity by putting the well back on production after a dormant period of time (when water cone might subside) and the contribution of the bottom water drive (aquifer strength) to the restored productivity. A 25-year production performance forecast is performed for three scenarios of well’s operation after the water sink completion’s shut-down for one month: (a) no shut-down and continuing production as DWS well; (b) one-month shut down and conversion to a conventional single-completed well; (c) one-month shut down and continuing production as DWS well. The results reveal that the watered-out well could be revived as an oil producer only by restoring its DWS operation [scenario (c)] as the conventional well operation [scenario (b)] would produce only water. Moreover, detrimental effect of temporary water-sink shut down would irreversibly reduce well's productivity by more than 10 percent. It is also shown that stronger aquifer stimulates DWS well productivity improvement of up to 20 percent in case of strong bottom water drive.

Opis:
Ultraviolet-curable hybrid light-diffusing films with good optical, mechanical and thermal properties were prepared by involving vinyl-silane-modified nano-silica into light-diffusing films. The light-diffusing films were two-phase materials consisting of UV-curable matrix and light-diffusing agent. The effect of three different light-diffusing agents, viz. inorganic layered particle (CaCO3), spherical acrylic resin (MR-7HG) and organosilicone resin (KMP-590) and their contents, on the optical properties of light-diffusing films was studied. The results showed the light-diffusing film exhibited good optical properties (the transmittance was 90.7% and the haze was 95.5%) when KMP-590 was a light-diffusing agent and its content was 25%. It was because that KMP-590 showed good transparency, good dispersion in the UV-curable matrix and the greater difference in refractive index with UV-curable matrix and polycarbonate substrate. Furthermore, the effect of nano-silica on the optical, mechanical and thermal properties of the hybrid light-diffusing films was investigated. Compared to that of the light-diffusing films without nano-silica, the haze of the hybrid light-diffusing films containing nano-silica was lightly enhanced to above 98%, while their transmittance basically remained unchanged at a high value (above 89%). Additionally, scratch and abrasion resistance of the hybrid films were obviously improved by nano-silica especially with the particle size of 10–15 nm. Furthermore, the mechanical property and thermal stability of the hybrid films were improved as the content of nano-silica with the particle size of 10–15 nm increased. The enhanced mechanical property and thermal stability of the films could be attributed to the dense structure induced by the increase in network density with the addition of vinyl-silane-modified nano-silica.

Opis:
In order to obtain a three-dimensional computer simulation of warp knitted structures with more flexibility and realism, a new algorithm using Matlab was developed by NURBS based on empirical geometrical loop models. With the principles of NURBS curves, once the values of data points are known, the control points with two coincidence points at the start and end points can be uncomplicatedly calculated by Matlab. Then the NURBS curve of a single typical stitch can be simulated flexibly by Matlab. A new typical stitch selected from two stitches simulated directly by the new method is redefined to improve the joint of neighboring stitches, and it is found that there are two types of redefined typical warp knitted stitches judged by whether the two under lap on the same side or not. Based on the redefined typical warp knitted stitch, two warp knitted structures are simulated regardless of the loop offset, and all the joints of stitches are smooth.

Opis:
Protanastrophia repanda gen. et sp. nov. is a reef−dwelling parastrophinid brachiopod in the Lower Silurian (uppermost Telychian) Attawapiskat Formation of the Hudson Bay region of Canada. It is characterized by a small, quasi−smooth shell with gentle anterior costae, a tendency towards an asymmetrical, sigmoidal anterior commissure, and widely separate, subparallel inner hinge plates. Protanastrophia first appeared in the marginal seas of Siberia (Altai, Mongolia) during the Late Ordovician, retaining the primitive character of discrete inner hinge plates in the superfamily Camerelloidea, and preferred a carbonate mound depositional environment. It survived the Late Ordovician mass extinction and subsequently spread to Baltica and Laurentia during Early Silurian (Llandovery) time. Superficially similar asymmetrical shells of Parastrophina portentosa occur in the Upper Ordovician carbonate mound facies of Kazakhstan but differ internally from the new genus in having a septum−supported septalium. Phylogenetic analysis indicates that, within the Camerelloidea, asymmetrical shells with a sigmoidal anterior commissure evolved in Protanastrophia repanda and Parastrophina portentosa independently during the Late Ordovician as a case of homoplasy. The two species belong to separate parastrophinid lineages that evolved in widely separate palaeogeographic regions.

With the gradual increase of the thermal power unit capacity, the inlet steam parameters and flow of the turbine also increase gradually, which causes considerable secondary flow loss. Therefore, studying the causes and distribution of secondary flow loss within the level is of great significance to effectively improve the stage internal efficiency of turbine. Take high-pressure stage moving blade of a turbine as the research object, and adopt the k-ωSST model, the SIMPLEC algorithm to numerically simulate the formation and development process of leakage vortex between the tip clearance of the positive bending twisted blade and its effect on the secondary flow of cascade passage. Results show that relative to the conventional twisted blade, the scope of influence of leakage vortex which the steam flow formed near the suction surface of positive bending twisted blade and the disturbance to passage mainstream become smaller, and the increase of tip clearance has weakened the „C” type pressure gradient of suction surface of the positive bending twisted blade, increased the thickness of the boundary layer at both ends of blades and the loss of the blade end.

A novel VC (voice conversion) method based on hybrid SVR (support vector regression) and GMM (Gaussian mixture model) is presented in the paper, the mapping abilities of SVR and GMM are exploited to map the spectral features of the source speaker to those of target ones. A new strategy of F0 transfor- mation is also presented, the F0s are modeled with spectral features in a joint GMM and predicted from the converted spectral features using the SVR method. Subjective and objective tests are carried out to evaluate the VC performance; experimental results show that the converted speech using the proposed method can obtain a better quality than that using the state-of-the-art GMM method. Meanwhile, a VC method based on non-parallel data is also proposed, the speaker-specific information is investigated us- ing the SVR method and preliminary subjective experiments demonstrate that the proposed method is feasible when a parallel corpus is not available.

Opis:
Bubble attachment phenomena are examined using Molecular Dynamics Simulations (MDS) for the first time. The simulation involves a nitrogen nano bubble containing 906 nitrogen molecules in a water phase with 74,000 water molecules at molybdenite surfaces. During a simulation period of 1 ns, film rupture and displacement occurs. The attached nanobubble at the hydrophobic molybdenite face surface results in a contact angle of about 90º. This spontaneous attachment is due to a “water exclusion zone” at the molybdenite face surface and can be explained by a van der Waals (vdW) attractive force, as discussed in the literature. In contrast, the film is stable at the hydrophilic quartz (001) surface and the bubble does not attach. Contact angles determined from MD simulations are reported, and these results agree well with experimental and MDS sessile drop results. In this way, film stability and bubble attachment are described with respect to interfacial water structure for surfaces of different polarity. Interfacial water molecules at the hydrophobic molybdenite face surface have relatively weak interactions with the surface when compared to the hydrophilic quartz (001) surface, as revealed by the presence of a 3 Å “water exclusion zone” at the molybdenite/water interface. The molybdenite armchair-edge and zigzag-edge surfaces show a comparably slow process for film rupture and displacement when compared to the molybdenite face surface, which is consistent with their relatively weak hydrophobic character.

Climate change is causing changes in tree species performance and distribution, impacting breeding programme effectiveness. Our aim was to analyse the effects of provenance and climatic factors on the annual ring density of Masson pine (Pinus massoniana Lamb.) at different experimental sites and potential breeding strategies that may be developed in response to future climate change. The study trees represented provenances originating from the western, east-central, northern, and southern regions of P. massoniana distribution in China. The wood density differed significantly among provenances. A multisite variance analysis test showed that the type B correlation coefficients for ring density at the two sites stud- ied were less than 0.8, indicating an interaction effect of genotype by environment (G×E) on tree ring density. Climatic factors directly affected the wood density properties. At Chun’an (CA), the maximum latewood density (MXD) and minimum earlywood density (MND) were positively correlated with absolute maximum temperatures in August and May of the current growing season, respectively. At Taizi Mountain (TZS), MXD was significantly positively correlated with absolute maximum temperature in September of the current year and significantly negatively correlated with precipitation in June. MND was significantly positively correlated with absolute maximum temperature in May of the current year and significantly negatively correlated with precipitation in April. The climatic effects on P. massoniana wood density differed among seed-source origins. This study showed that ring density characteristics differed significantly among provenances, and provenance selection could promote wood density. MXD and MND exhibited significant genotype-by-environment interaction effects, and significant correlations were found between ring density and temperature and precipitation conditions. These findings suggest that climatic factors and site condi- tions in addition to genetics could be strong drivers of wood density variation, and/or that wood density is a highly plastic trait.

1,1-Dimethylbiguanidium 1H,1′H-5,5′-bistetrazole-1,1′-diolate (MGBTO), a novel nitrogen-rich energetic salt, was synthesized by cation exchange. Its structure was characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, NMR, DTA and TG-DTG. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that MGBTO was crystallized in the monoclinic space group C2/c. Thermal analysis demonstrated that its thermal stability extended up to 531.1 K. The nonisothermal kinetic and apparent thermodynamic parameters of the exothermic decomposition of MGBTO were determined by the Kissinger and Ozawa methods. Its detonation velocity and detonation pressure were calculated on the basis of the Kamlet-Jacobs equation and were 6342 m·s–1 and 15.78 GPa, respectively. The impact and friction sensitivities of MGBTO were quantified using standard BAM (10 kg drop hammer) procedures. The results revealed that the salt has good mechanical sensitivity (FS > 120 N, IS > 40 J), thus indicating its potential applications as an energetic material.

A proof of concept for using paper test as a suitable method in the production of monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) is reported. The paper test which detects antibodies against porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) using colloidal gold-labelled capsid protein as the antigen probe was applied exclusively in the screening of anti-PCV2 MAbs. It allowed the detection of 118 single cell clones within 30 min using naked eyes. MAbs with specific binding to authentic epitopes on the virus were selected using a blocking strategy in which the antibody was pre-incubated with PCV2 viral sample before applying to the test paper. Five hybridomas secreting MAbs against the capsid protein were obtained, with only three of them capable of binding to PCV2. The results were validated and confirmed using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and immunofluorescence assay. The paper test is simple, rapid, and independent on professional technicians and proves to be an excellent approach for the screening of MAbs against specific targets.

Opis:
The enzyme strictosidine synthase (STR, EC: 4.3.3.2) plays a key role in the biosynthetic pathway of terpenoid indole alkaloid (TIA). It catalyzes the condensation of the tryptamine and secologanin to form 3α(S)-strictosidine, which is the common precursor of all TIAs. In this paper, a STR gene designated as DoSTR (GenBank: KX068707) was first cloned and characterized from Dendrobium officinale with rapid amplified cDNA ends method (RACE). DoSTR has a length of 1380bp with 1179bp open reading frame encoding 392 amino acids. BlastP analyses showed that its amino acid sequence was classified into Str_synth superfamily. qRT-PCR showed that DoSTR was expressed in all tissues tested, with a significantly higher level in flower and the lowest in stem. Four different treatments with MeJA, SA, ABA and AgNO₃, respectively, could induce the DoSTR expression to a different extent. And the effect of MeJA was the most obvious and transcript level of DoSTR induced by MeJA was 20.7 times greater than that of control at 48 hours after treatment. Furthermore, it was found that DoSTR was localized in vacuole through transient expression in tobacco. The characterization and expression of DoSTR can help in further studying the role of DoSTR in the biosynthesis of TIAs in D. officinale. This study may throw light on the alkaloid biosynthesis pathway of D. officinale.
