Opis:
Purpose: The article proposes a methodology for determining the chemical quality criterion of porous layers synthesized on the surface of semiconductors, based on taking into account the chemical parameters of the surface that can affect the properties of nanostructures. Design/methodology/approach: The chemical quality criterion was evaluated in terms of stoichiometry, stability of structures over time, uniformity of distribution over the surface, and the presence of an oxide phase. As an example, a calculation is demonstrated for the por-InP/InP structure synthesized on a mono-InP surface. The results of calculating the chemical quality criterion were evaluated using the Harrington scale to rank samples by quality level. Findings: A chemical criterion for the quality of porous layers synthesized on the surface of semiconductors has been developed. This criterion contains a set of indicators sufficient for a comprehensive assessment of the surface condition and is universal in nature. The studies carried out make it possible to reasonably approach the determination of the modes of electrochemical processing of semiconductors and open up new perspectives in the construction of a model of self-organization of a porous structure. Research limitations/implications: The chemical quality criterion does not allow evaluating the obtained nanostructures in terms of geometric parameters. Therefore, in the future, there is a need to develop a morphological quality criterion and determine a methodology for assessing a generalized quality criterion for nanostructures synthesized on the surface of semiconductors, which may include economic, environmental, technological indicators, and the like. Practical implications: Study results are expedient from a practical point of view, since they make it possible to reasonably approach the determination of the modes of electrochemical processing of semiconductors, synthesize nanostructures with predetermined properties, and create standard samples of nanomaterial composition. Originality/value: Methodology for assessing the quality of porous semiconductors by a chemical criterion has been applied for the first time in engineering science. The article will be useful to engineers, who are engaged in the synthesis of nanostructures, researchers and scientists, as well as specialists in nanometrology.

Opis:
Purpose: The aim of this paper is to develop a functional model for the synthesis of nanostructures of the given quality level, which will allow to effectively control the process of nanopatterning on the surface of semiconductors with tunable properties. Design/methodology/approach: The paper uses the IDEF0 methodology, which focuses on the functional design of the system under study and describes all the necessary processes with an accuracy sufficient for an unambiguous modelling of the system's activity. Based on this methodology, we have developed a functional model for the synthesis of nanostructures of the given quality level and tested its effectiveness through practice. Findings: The paper introduces a functional model for the synthesis of nanostructures on the surface of the given quality level semiconductors and identifies the main factors affecting the quality of nanostructures as well as the mechanisms for controlling the formation of porous layers with tunable properties. Using the example of etching single-crystal indium phosphide electrochemically in a hydrochloric acid solution, we demonstrate that the application of the suggested model provides a means of forming nanostructures with tunable properties, assessing the quality level of the nanostructures obtained and bringing the parameters in line with the reference indicators at a qualitatively new level. Research limitations/implications: Functional modelling using the IDEF0 methodology is widely used when process control is required. In this study it has been applied to control the synthesis of nanostructures of the given quality level on the surface of semiconductors. However, these studies require continuation, namely, the establishment of correlations between the technological and resource factors of synthesis and the acquired properties of nanostructures. Practical implications: This study has a significant practical effect. Firstly, it shows that functional modelling can reduce the time required to form large batches of the given quality level nanostructures. This has made it possible to substantiate the choice of the initial semiconductor parameters and nanostructure synthesis modes in industrial production from the theoretical and empirical perspective. Secondly, the presented methodology can be applied to control the synthesis of other nanostructures with desired properties and to reduce the expenses required when resources are depleted and the cost of raw materials is high. Originality/value: This paper is the first to apply the IDEF0 methodology to control the given quality nanostructure synthesis. This paper will be of value to engineers who are engaged in the synthesis of nanostructures, to researchers and scientists as well as to students studying nanotechnology.

Opis:
The experiment was carried out as a two-factor experiment in a split-plot system, repeated three times within the years 2015-2017 on an individual farm. The following factors were examined: I – three varieties of edible potato: Honorata, Jelly, Tajfun, and II – four types of biostimulators used in three periods (beginning of flowering, full flowering and after flowering of the plants): Kelpak SL®, dosage 0.20 mg l–1, Titanit®, dosage 0.20 mg l–1, GreenOk®, dosage 0.20 mg l–1, BrunatneBio Złoto®, dosage 0.20 mg l–1 and a control variant (without the use of biostimulators). The aim of the study was to determine the effect of biostimulators on the dry matter yield and starch yield of edible potato tubers. The content of dry matter was determined by means of a dry weight method. The starch content was determined using the Reimann hydrostatic balance. Dry matter yield and starch yield were calculated as a product of the total yield and the content of individual components. The results obtained were statistically analysed with the use of the analysis of variance. The use of biostimulators in the experiment increased the amount of dry matter yield and the yield of edible potato tuber starch as compared with the control plot. The reaction of the different varieties to the biostimulators used was diverse. The highest dry matter yield and starch yield was produced by the Jelly variety. The BrunatneBio Złoto biostimulator significantly increased the dry matter yield and starch yield as compared with the control variant. The Jelly variety produced the highest dry matter yield and starch yield, while the Honorata variety reacted with a decrease in the yield in relation to the variant in which the biostimulator was not used. The diverse climatic conditions prevailing during the growing season in the years when the research was conducted influenced the yield of dry matter and starch.

Opis:
The aim of the research was to define the influence of treatment methods, with the use of growth biostimulators and herbicide on the yield structure of three varieties of edible potato. The series of field research was carried out in the years 2015-2017, in the region of eastern Poland, in Biała Podlaska municipality, in Lubelskie voivodship, on light, acidic soil. The experiment was constructed with the use of random sub-blocks method in three repetitions. The tested factors included: I. factor – three early edible potato varieties Owacja, Bellarosa, Vineta; II. factor – five methods of treatment of the field of potato crops with the use of growth biostimulators: GreenOk-Uniwersal Pro and Asahi SL and their combinations with Avatar 293 ZC herbicide. As a result of the conducted research it was found that the methods of treatment with the use of growth biostimulators and herbicide had a positive effect on the structure of potato tuber yields, compared to the standard object on which only mechanical care was applied. The highest weight percent of large tubers input (in fractions >51mm) was observed in case of experimental object 4. (in case of which herbicide Avatar 293 ZC and GreenOK Universal-PRO preparation were applied) as well as experimental object 3 (post applying biostimulator Asahi SL). Varieties cultivated in the experiment had a significant impact also on the structure of potato crops. An impact of weather conditions on the structure of potato tubers was further noted. Based on the conducted experiment, it can be concluded that the growth biostimulators, as well as their combination with herbicide, positively influenced the quality parameters of potato tubers. Therefore, these preparations should find wider application in agricultural practice.

Opis:
Celem badań było określenie wpływu stosowanych biostymulatorów na plon trzech odmian ziemniaka jadalnego. Doświadczenie polowe przeprowadzono w układzie split-plot w trzech powtórzeniach. Badanymi czynnikami były: I – trzy odmiany ziemniaka jadalnego: Honorata, Jelly, Tajfun, II – pięć rodzajów stosowania biostymulatorów: obiekt kontrolny (bez stosowania biostymulatorów), biostymulator Kelpak SL®, Titanit®, GreenOk®, BrunatneBio Złoto®. Najwyżej plonowała Jelly (średnio 51,05 t·ha–1) i charakteryzowała się większym udziałem w plonie ogólnym bulw dużych niż odmiany Tajfun i Honorata. Największe plony i procentowy udział bulw dużych uzyskano w warunkach pogodowych 2017 roku, a w pozostałych latach plony były średnio o 1,1-1,2 t·ha–1 mniejsze.
The aim of the study was to determine the effect of biostimulators on the yield of three edible potato varieties. The field experiment was carried out in a split-plot design with three replicates. The examined factors were: I – three varieties of edible potato: Honorata, Jelly, Tajfun, and II – five ways of using biostimulators: control (without biostimulators), Kelpak SL® biostimulator, Titanit®, GreenOk®, BrunatneBio Złoto®. The biostimulators used in the experiment caused an increase of yields (on average by 1.6 t ha–1) in comparison to the control plot. With unfavourable weather conditions, unfavourable for the yielding of potatoes, after the application of the biostimulators a higher yield was obtained, by 1.2 t ha–1, than in favourable weather conditions. The biostimulator BrunatneBio Złoto caused a significant increase in the yield and had an effect on the structure of potato tuber yield in comparison to the control treatment. The varieties grown differed in terms of the level of yields. Variety Jelly produced the highest yield (an average of 51.05 t ha–1) and was characterised by a higher share of large tubers in the total yield of tubers than varieties Tajfun and Honorata. The highest yields and percentage share of large bulbs were obtained in weather conditions of 2017, and in other years yields were lower, on average by 1.1-1.2 t ha–1.
