Opis:
Accurate fault location in an electric power distribution system (EPDS) is important in maintaining system reliability. Diverse methods have been proposed in the past. These methods whither require measurements at each load point or use single-step loads compensation, which is hardly available in practical uses. In this paper, a simple technique to bypass the load problems is proposed. The method requires calculating an optimal load distribution using the total load seen from the substation (The rated power of distribution transformers) and the network topology. The optimal load distribution is used as a fictive distribution to replace the real unknown one in fault location (FL) algorithms. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is demonstrated using a mathematical formulation first, and next, by several simulations with a classic iterative fault location algorithm. The test results are obtained from the numerical simulation using the data of a distribution line recognized in the literature.

Opis:
Iris belongs to the Iridaceae family. It is one of the most important pharmaceutical and ornamental plants in the world. To assess the potyvirus incidence in natural resources of iris plants in Iran, Antigen Coated-Plate ELISA (ACP-ELISA) was performed on 490 symptomatic rhizomatous iris leaf samples, which detected the potyvirus in 36.7% of the samples. Genomic 3’ end of one mechanically non-transmitted potyvirus isolate, comprising a 3’ untranslated region (390 bp) and C-terminus of the coat protein (CP) gene (459 bp), was amplified by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), which was ligated into pTG19-T vector. The nucleotide sequence of amplicons was compared with related sequences, using Blastn software available at NCBI GenBank, and showed the highest similarity with Iris severe mosaic virus (ISMV) isolates. The nucleotide and deduced amino acid sequence of the CP C-terminus region was more than 83% identical with other ISMV isolates, therefore this isolate was designated as ISMV-Ir. This new ISMV isolate is closely related to the Chinese ISMV-PHz in phylogenetic analysis, based on the partial nucleotide and deduced amino acid sequence of the CP region. This is the first report of ISMV occurrence on Iris spp. in Iran.

Opis:
Changes in magnetic microstructure of Fe₇₈Si₉B₁₃ ribbons were investigated by the Mössbauer spectrometry as a function of their thickness. The latter decreases inversely with the quenching wheel velocity. Amorphicity of the samples was checked by X-ray diffraction and the Mössbauer spectrometry. Average values of hyperfine magnetic fields do not appreciably differ with the production velocity. On the other hand, notable deviations are observed in the position of a net magnetic moment. After annealing with moderate temperature, the magnetic anisotropy improves as indicated by an increase of the average value of hyperfine magnetic field. However, magnetic moments turn out of the ribbon plane and this process continues towards higher production velocity, i.e., smaller thickness of the ribbons. No appreciable deviations in the investigated Mössbauer parameters were revealed after annealing during different time intervals.

Opis:
Pyricularia grisea, the causal agent blast disease in rice, is considered as one of the most important fungus in paddy fields. Isolates of Pyricularia grisea were analyzed by SSR to determine the amount of genetic variability in populations. Fourteen primers were applied and DNA bands of 95-640 bp were produced. Cluster analysis using UPGMA method gave three groups. Group 1 was the major group and most of isolates which collected from west of Guilan belonged to this group. Groups 2 and 3 belonged to the center of Guilan isolates and the east of Guilan isolates, respectively. The results revealed although genetic distance was high between isolates of west and east of Guilan and the genetic similarity among these isolates of these two populations was low, but there was the maximum of genetic distance or the minimum of genetic similarity between the population of center of Guilan isolates and population of east of Guilan isolates. The minimum of genetic distance or the maximum of genetic similarity there was between the population of center of Guilan isolates and population of west of Guilan isolates. Overall, results confirmed that microsatellite primers are good and suitable markers for analyzing the population structure of Pyricularia grisea.
Zastosowano czternaście starterów i stworzono pasma DNA 95-640 bp. Analiza skupień przy użyciu metody UPGMA dała trzy grupy. Grupa 1 była główną grupą i większość izolatów zebranych na zachodzie prowicji Guilan należało do tej grupy. Grupy 2 i 3 to izolaty zebrane, odpowiednio, w środkowej i wschodniej części Guilan.

Opis:
Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae is a plant pathogen bacterium in rice which causes bacterial sheath rot. In this study, simplified AFLP (Amplified fragment length polymorphism) was tested in order to evaluate genetic diversity of 38 Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae strains isolated from rice fields of the Guilan province, by 12 AFLP primers. The products resulted from AFLP were separated using agarose gel electrophoresis. The maximum number of PIC among all tested primers belonged to primer 36. Based on the Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic (UPGMA) method, using NTSISpc Software, all Pseudomonas syringae pv. syringae strains were divided into three distinct clusters which had a 70% similarity level. Cluster analysis of studied populations (isolates of fields, panicles, and nurseries) determined that a high genetic identity could be seen among isolates obtained from the panicles and nurseries, while strains isolated from the fields and nurseries had the most genetic distance with each other. The result of this study showed that sampling site and weather conditions play an important role in genetic evolution of strains. It was also found that AFLP is an effective marker in evaluating genetic diversity within and among isolates being studied, while all of them had the same host and pathogenesis characteristics.

Opis:
In this paper we are going to introduce “Dena”, a new Filippov type plasma focus facility, with a condenser bank of 0.288 mF, and a maximum supplying energy of 90 kJ (at Vmax= 25 kV). The facility was installed and started to work in the first quarter of the year 2000. Major points of the paper are: – Dena’s construction, functionality, and diagnostic system. – Preliminary results: Different modes of neutron, X-ray, and “hot spot” production, as well as the possibility of controlling operational mode, by changing anode configuration and initial discharge condition.
