    Psycho-social educator profession belongs to the specific professions with special needs from the staffs in this job. This article presents specific of the psycho-social educator profession in the context of specifics professional needs and professional responsibility. Analysis presented in this article is addressed to the staffs of psycho-social rehabilitation units for juveniles in Poland, as well as to students of psycho-social rehabilitation pedagogy. Knowledge about professional responsibility it seems to be necessary for full professional skills of psycho-social rehabilitation educator in contest with responsibility in their daily work.

    Opis:
    In 2014 and 2015, the Polish–Egyptian Conservation Mission to Marina el-Alamein undertook research, conservation and presentation of the area north of the central square of the ancient town. A major landmark in this part of the city are the public baths from the Hellenistic period, discovered in 1987. The work was focused on the main chambers of the bath: the central tholos with relics of hip-bathtubs, the neighboring room with an immersion bathtub, and a set of rooms in the southern area of the complex.

    Opis:
    Activities undertaken by the Polish–Egyptian Conservation Mission to Marina el-Alamein in 2014 and 2015 included research and conservation in the public district of the ancient town as well as in private houses. The emphasis was foremost on research, conservation and exhibition of monuments in the area north of the central town square, especially the remains of public baths dating from the Hellenistic period. Research and conservation continued also in the area south of the central square, concentrating on the remains of Roman baths in use from the 2nd to the 4th century AD. Current maintenance and conservation were carried out in private houses and in the area south of the central square.

    Design of small molecule inhibitors of type III secretion system ATPase EscN from enteropathogenic Escherichia coli

    Opis:
    Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) is a human pathogen using type III secretion system for delivery of proteins directly into the human host. The system contains a single ATPase, EscN, which is essential for uncoupling of proteins from their complexes with chaperones before the delivery. The structure of EscN ATPase (PDB code: 2obm) was used to screen computationally for small molecule inhibitors blocking its active site. Two lead candidates were examined but only one, Compound 54, was selected for further optimization. After extended QSAR optimization, two derivatives were found to be competitive inhibitors of EscN capable of blocking ATPase activity with a Ki below 50 µM. One candidate, WEN05-03, with a Ki=16±2 µM, was also minimally toxic to mammalian cells as determined by other assays. In the cell infection model of HeLa cells with EPEC, Compound WEN05-03 completely blocked actin cluster formation at 100 µM concentration, when analyzed by confocal microscopy. The second best inhibitor of EscN ATPase activity was WEN04-34 with a Ki=46±2 µM. However, the compound was highly toxic to the BALB/3T3 cell line. In summary, the work identifies a compound blocking bacterial ATPase in its active site without causing cellular toxicity to the host cells. It is the first report showing feasibility of using bacterial virulence system ATPase as a target for safe, non-toxic compounds and offering a proof-of-concept for non-antibiotic alternatives.
