Opis:
The authors of a contribution in dealing with prejudice and negative images of older people and symptom discrimination against older person or a group of elders. We are talking about ageism thus, social prejudice against age. These are the statements and positions without a true foundation, but the appearance that they are at the core of truth. Some manifestations of discrimination are evident in some unspoken subtext. In practice, we often encounter ageism as age discrimination against individuals or groups of older people, for example, advertisements offering jobs. Generation 55+ is not only healthier than we think, but to live for a longer active life than previous generations, are far more involved in other activities than just gardening, fishing and baking cookies and cakes. Seniors begin also other careers, leading companies devoted to artistic activities, traveling, attending educational courses, schools and transmit their profession and experience to others. To give people a sense of well being and reinforce positive attitudes in society towards aging and older people is essential participation in social, economic, cultural and voluntary activities, responsible approach to their own life and interest in the development of society. The main ethical principles are respect for human uniqueness, while recognizing equality between people, respect for the dignity of the older person, and respect for its independence, the right to self-determination, the right to privacy and personal choice. It is important to promote, strengthen and protect the family as the basic cell of society, in which there is naturally intergenerational solidarity, and respect for the elderly. The program aims to create conditions for full and active life of seniors, eliminate the causes of the inadmissible restrictions on fundamental rights and freedoms for reasons of age and social status, combat discrimination and social exclusion of the elderly, strengthening intergenerational solidarity, self-reliance, recognizing the contribution of seniors to family and society, promote understanding , tolerance and solidarity.

Opis:
One of the most common causes of disability of Slovak people is mental illness. According to psychologists, this trend lasts for several years and the situation is not improving. The cause is mainly lifestyle. In the entire World are suffering from depression over 110 million men and women. It is the most common psychological disorder. Numbers of depressed patients increase by 3% every year. Depression affects many people of working age, regardless of their social and economic status. Up to 15% of people suffering from depression attempt suicide and only 25% seek out profes- sional psychiatric help. This disease belongs to the man as well as an ap- pendix. Depression is not just an ordinary grief that gnaws at the soul of man. In the care of the mentally ill has the nurse in communicating a very im- portant place. Skills of nurses should be at a level such that she under- stands the patient, supports him, could effectively intervene at any time and, if necessary, be close to patient. It is primarily she who spends most of his time with the patient.

In the context with scientific knowledge and technical possibilities of modern medicine are rising many ethical, legal, social, psychological, economic, and specifically medical problems, also problems in therapeutic and nursing care for terminally ill and dying patients. Process of dying is moved from intimate family environment into professional institutions - clinics, departments and other health and social facilities. People are for years divided into two camps - some are strongly opposed to euthanasia and others on the other hand believe that in some conditions when the pain is unbearable even after a strong dose of morphine, suffering person becomes only a helpless „victim of medicine“.

Opis:
Authors in this article deal with the ethical aspects of nursing care for acute conditions from the perspective of ethical and legal standards. Today's time already think about this problem through various schemes, regulations, standards and codes. One of the main subjects that are concerned by ethics is nursing. Here, thanks to everyday work with peole, must everything work for the benefit of morality. Code of Ethics sets and modifies certain rules in spe- cific fields. They determine or recommend certain patterns of behaviour. For nurses indicate the direction the International Council of Nurses. Here it is described that the nurse has a duty to care for the health, alleviate suffering, prevent disease and restore health. Emergency medicine is in these modern times pushing the boundaries of therapy. From this point of view implies not only respect to the rights of critically ill patient and their implementation in intensive care. This is happening despite the efforts and need for constant professionalism and conditions of available methods and procedures. Provi- sion of acute care medicine is today very complex.

Ethics earmark for Ethics Cod. It is the sum of the rules of behavior in a given society - these are the basic rules of conduct decent, as they are in every other profession, varies depending on career and code of ethics, too. It is a social phenomenon which interferes with prompt bizzare areas of life. Without ethics, respect for human beings and respect for the fundamental rights can not be expected to succeed in life. Morality can be characterized as social phenomenon that reflects human relationships and human activities in terms of good and evil. The moral problem is wherever a person in a daily struggle for existence is responsible for their actions. Therefore, one necessarily expects total remuneration for their morally good, free volitiona, decision, reward, whose impact extends beyond its currently. What are the key values and principles in nursing? Choosing values that are generally and most experts considered crucial, is quite complex and depends of multiple factors. We are talking about autonomy, utility, fairness, trustworthiness, truthfulness, and harmlessness. The aim of the European Charter of Patients' Rights to ensure a high level of human health. Authors pay attention in this allowance to shame, because the hospital is not the time to respect the sick. Embarrassment or shame or a sense of shame is (negative) feeling, knowing error, bad faith or any other personal deficiency.

Authors in this article deal with the issue of people who are, for various reasons, without accommodation. They analyse the causes of their condition, which is absolutely necessary to know, in order to be able to help them. They analyse options that are currently offered in this area. They highlight the issue of their health, which is of course seriously affected by their limited conditions of survival. Their decline of social status as of valid members of our society leads to a serious problem that should be related to all of us if we do not want to allocate them from the society. Homelessness is the urgent medical, nursing, social, psychological, ethical and sociological problem. It is in interest of the public health from the aspect of the spread of infections and of interest of independent foundations and non-profit organizations. Volunteers play an increasingly important role in the care of the homeless community, either as a group or as single individuals.

The authors point out that tuberculosis is the oldest infectious killer of humans and today it is such a serious threat to health that the World Health Organization (WHO) equates it to a time bomb. The most common source of infection by mycobacteria tuberculosis to a man is a sick person. Epidemiologically greatest danger is sick person with untreated decay pulmonary tuberculosis whose sputum may spread billions of tuberculosis bacilli every day. The overall situation in the incidence of tuberculosis (TB) in Slovakia is generally favorable, although in the eastern parts of Slovakia incidence is growing rapidly. Slovakia has compared with all Europe small to moderate incidence of this disease and its incidence has downward trend. East Slovakia so far has hot won combat this disease yet. It is therefore necessary to continue effective intervention and prevention to combat the spread of this disease.

Chronic diseases can be prevented by adopting the principles of good nutrition, sufficient physical activity and avoiding of smoking, alcohol and stress. Level of control of major risk factors, especially of hypertension, should be increased. Also the motivation for patients to eliminate their risk factors through the instruments of state policy adequate education and the availability of better quality health care should be improved. Health counseling centers are designed for healthy people who are interested in the quantification of selected health status indicators related to cardiovascular disease, based on which is assessed the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Clinical nutrition has a very significant role in surgery. There is a two-way relationship between the patient‘s performance and the nutritional status of the patient, and they are in interaction. Dietary intake can be affected not only immediately but, more importantly, over the long period of time. In this article is described the issue of GIT interventions that require specific approaches to nutritional intervention. In relation to surgery, we distinguish the preoperative, perioperative and postoperative periods, and it is necessary to distinguish the period immediately after surgery and the convalescence period, which is often associated with realimentation. In those stages, nutritional intervention has specific objectives with respect to the patient‘s health and nutritional status. In recent years is used the so-called „immunonutrition“, which is the use of specific nutritional components for therapeutic purposes. However, the main objective remains to prevent or optimally resolve eventual malnutrition.

Opis:
New researches confirm that nutrition, along with modern therapeutic procedures, is of great im- portance for the optimal treatment of chronic renal insufficiency. Necessary is the reduction in total protein intake based on the level of renal function. Low protein diets can reduce uremic symptoms in non-dialysis patients with chronic renal failure and can slow down the progression of renal insuffi- ciency in patients with chronic renal insufficiency. At present, protein-restricted diets are used in con- junction with a nutritional therapist. Long-term administration of low-protein diet is contraindicated in patients with end-stage chronic renal failure, with uremic complications, with severe signs of urine retention and electrolytes and with poor compliance with low-protein diet. A low-protein diet with ketoanalogs can not only stabilize renal function but also has a beneficial effect on blood pressure, proteinuria, lipid profile and calcium phosphate metabolism. Depending on the size of diuresis, blood pressure, sodium and fluid balance and potassium levels, the maximal intake of fluids, sodium and potassium should be considered.
