    Sensory experience leads to the initiation of a complex process of thinking about the world. The result of this process are the images of what surrounds us. We definethis action as education. Because looking at the world from the perspective of sensual experience is the potential ability of every human being (Hannah Arendt), education becomes a tool enabling the simulation of the existing world and the one that may appear in the future. About who we are and where we are, who we will decide, the quality of the senses. The quality of the senses translates into the value of the cognitive process. The consequence of the quality of the cognitive process is the collection of information and knowledge. This sensual logic inscribes the action that classifiesus people according to predisposition or ava-ilable information that results from the quality of sensual functioning. As Leonardo da Vinci saw it: “Experience, the intermediary between creative nature and the human race, teaches what nature uses among mortals, that before the necessity of necessity one cannot act differently than reason, his teaching works.”

    Artykuł opisuje dokonujące się zmiany w postawie osób „uprawiających naukę”. Zmiany te dotyczą rozumienia, czym jest wiedza, a tym samym, czemu ta wiedza ma służyć. W niniejszym tekście zwraca się uwagę na fakt, iż elementem często decydującym o wartości przekazywanej wiedzy jest czynnik ekonomiczny. Ten nowoczesny utylitaryzm zawłaszczył ludzi wraz z ich ambicjami, umiejętnościami. Stąd w niniejszej refleksji odnajdziemy rozważania dotyczące: wartości wiedzy, postaw ludzi nauki, roli i miejsca edukacji we współczesnym świecie oraz takich czynników, które modyfikują współczesny kształt edukacji i jej funkcjonariuszy, jak: egoizm czy też racjonalność konsumencka.
    The article describes the changes in the attitude of scholars. These changes relate to the understanding of what knowledge is, and therefore which purposes this knowledge serves. This text draws attention to the fact that often the decisive element in the value of transferred knowledge is the economic factor. This modern utilitarianism, appropriated people with their ambitions and skills. Thus, in this reflection, we find discussion about the value of knowledge, scholars’ attitudes, the role and place of education in the modern world, and factors that modify the shape of modern education and its officers such as: selfishness or consumer rationality.

    Man experiences their existence constantly experiencing tension that emerges between that which is and that which could be, between the actual, known, and the unknown that barely shines in the horizon. In this uncomfortable experience, one can find potential for development, hidden behind a facade of pretence and camouflage, which, when disclosed and uncovered can be the “fuel” of satisfactory change. As a result, education can be in service of man once again. This process, as a fundamental experience, will assume the acceptance of truth about the human condition and the circumstances of its emergence in the course of life. Education not abandoning man must rediscover and re-evaluate such categories as fate, uncertainty, fragility, unforeseeability.

    In 2019, one of the publishing houses published a book by Professor Aleksander Nalaskowski entitled: Kwieciński The Last Thursday Seminar. This publication is a record of a conversation between two important representatives of Polish science. It can become an inspiration for a change in Polish pedagogy. Professors Aleksander Nalaskowski and Zbigniew Kwieciński formulate a diagnosis of its current state and indicate new directions of development of this socially important scientific discipline. Interesting for the future functioning of this discipline seems to be the foundation of decency and quot; love and quot; understood as unconditional kindness, which is a constitutive feature of humanity.
