In the present paper, effects of pre-heated walls/plates on microthrusters performance are studied using a DSMC/NS solver. Three microthruster configuration types are studied. Type 1 is a cold gas microthrster. Microthruster type 2 has pre-heated walls. Pre-heated plates are inserted inside the chamber of microthruster type 3. It is observed that in microthruster type 2 the flow is accelerated and the specific impulse is elevated. However, by insertion of the pre-heated plates in microthruster type 3, viscous effects have stronger negative influence and the thrust is decreased. By implementing temperature gradients on walls in type 2 and on plates in type 3, it is observed that a higher temperature gradient enhances performance parameters of microthruters. Among all types of microthrusters, microthruster type 2 with pre-heated walls has the highest thrust and specific impulse. Microthruster type 3 with a temperature gradient of 300-500K has the minimum thrust due to a considerable decrease in the mass flow rate.

The decomposition of hydrocarbons using combined advanced oxidation methods is largely considered owing to abundant production of OH radicals and the potential economic advantages. In this study, the synergetic effect of ozonation on photocatalytic oxidation of chloroform and chlorobenzene over expanded graphite-TiO2&ZnO Nano composite was investigated. The effect of introduced ozone concentration and residence time was also examined on removal efficiency. The results showed that the removal efficiency was significantly enhanced by the combined system resulting from the additional oxidation process causing active species to be increased. Increasing the introduced ozone concentration which generates more reactive compounds had a greater effect on the removal efficiency than that of residence time. However, from the mineralization point of view, the residence time had a dominant effect, and the selectivity towards CO2 was dramatically declined when the flow rate increased. Based on these results, the combined system is preferred due to higher removal efficiency and complete mineralization.

Objectives Of all work stressors, occupational stress is the leading cause of many disorders among workers. Drivers are classified as a high risk group for work related stress. This study set out to determine the relationship between risk factors of cardiovascular diseases and occupational stress among drivers. Material and Methods Two hundred and twenty two Ilam’s intercity drivers were selected for the study. For measuring work stress, the Osipow work stress questionnaire was used. After a 10-h fasting period, systolic and diastolic blood pressure was recorded. Intravenous blood samples were taken to determine cholesterol, triglyceride and blood glucose levels. The independent samples t-test and Pearson’s correlation test were used to assess the relationship between variables and occupational stress. Results Seventy-one percent of the intercity drivers suffered from average to acute stress, and 3.1% of them suffered from acute stress. There was no significant relationship between occupational stress and diastolic blood pressure (p = 0.254) among the drivers. Nevertheless, the Pearson’s correlation test demonstrated a strong relationship between work stress and blood glucose (p < 0.01), while no strong correlation was found for blood triglycerides and cholesterol levels. Conclusions Based on the results, high rates of occupational stress were observed in the Ilam’s intercity drivers. Occupational stress may have effect on blood glucose levels but the results did not suggest a considerable relationship between risk factors of cardiovascular diseases and occupational stress among intercity drivers. In this paper, fabrication of open-celled porous Fe-10%A1 foam by space-holder technique in which NaCl powder and polyester resin were utilized as space holder and binder respectively to generate 30-80% porosities was studied. FeAl solid solution was prepared via mechanical alloying method after 25 h high energy milling process. The results indicate that the size and shapes of the pores are determined by the size and shapes of NaCl particles. Also, when compaction pressure was in the range of 70-150 MPa and the sintering process was performed at temperature around 1100°C, the samples had the best quality. Microstructure observations show the pore size was in the range of 200-500 μm.
W niniejszej pracy badano wytwarzanie techniką wypełniacza przestrzeni piany Fe-10%Al o otwartej porowatości, w której proszek NaCl i Żywicę poliestrową wykorzystano odpowiednio w roli wypełniacza porów i spoiwa do wytworzenia piany o 30-80% porowatości. Roztwór stały FeAl został wytworzony poprzez mechaniczne stopowanie przez 25 h w trakcie wysokoenergetycznego mielenia. Wyniki wskazują, że rozmiar i kształt porów determinowany jest przez wielkość i kształt cząstek NaCl. Ponadto, gdy ciśnienie prasowania było w zakresie 70-150 MPa a proces spiekania prowadzono w temperaturze około 1100°C. próbki miały najwyższą jakość. Obserwacje mikrostruktury wykazały, że rozmiar porów mieścił się w zakresie 200-500 μm.
