The leading aim of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow is to be of service to the Church and Homeland, that is, Poland. The University is a part of the community of the Catholic Church. Consequently, evangelization and creating special bonds among the members of academic community is a method of achieving the aims of the University. The practice of fostering the model of a master-pupil relation is the most important element of the practice of the University. The authorities of the University take care of the agenda of studies, the development in the fields of research and science, and also of educating the young about patriotism.
Wiodącym zdaniem uniwersytetu jest służba Kościołowi i Ojczyźnie. Uniwersytet pozostaje w służbie Kościoła i przez ewangelizację oraz przez budowanie wspólnoty akademickiej, szczególnie pielęgnowania relacji „mistrz–uczeń”, wydatnie przyczynia się do umacniania jedności wspólnoty kościelnej. Uniwersytet, troszcząc się o udoskonalenie programu studiów i o rozwój nauki, kształcąc i wychowując młodzież w duchu patriotyzmu, służy Polsce.

Opis:
The development of the Ponti cal University of John Paul II in Krakow requires a change in law that regulates the church university. The Apostolic See approved a new statute of the school in question in 2015. The new law is based on the Apostolic Constitution Sapientia christiana and puts an emphasis on the following ideas: church and evangelizing characteristics of the school. The law also underlines autonomy of the University towards Polish state and, at the same time, it declares the openness of the school for multidimensional cooperation with the state.
Rozwój Uniwersytetu Papieskiego Jana Pawła II w Krakowie wymaga zmian w akcie prawnym, który dotyczy tego kościelnego uniwersytetu. Stolica Apostolska zaaprobowała nowy statut tej uczelni w 2015 roku. Nowe prawo oparto na konstytucji apostolskiej Sapientia christiana. Kładzie ono nacisk na kościelny i ewangelizacyjny charakter uczelni. Nowy statut podkreśla także autonomię uniwersytetu względem państwa polskiego, a jednocześnie deklaruje otwartość uczelni na wielowymiarową współpracę z państwem.

November 27, 2013 marks the 30th anniversary of coming into effect of the current Code of Canon Law. The law is a very useful tool for the Church community. The Church leads Her people to salvation by exercising threefold office of the Church: teaching, sanctifying, and governing. The Episcopal Conference of Poland, which traces its beginning back to the time of the partitions of Poland, has been shaped by regulations given at the Second Vatican Council and by other Church documents. These documents and regulations have laid the foundation for the statutes of the Episcopal Conference, in particular for the current ones from March 10, 2009. The 2009 Statutes determine the structure, competences and goals of the Episcopal Conference. The Conference is a collegial organ, which consists of bishops canonically connected with territory of Poland and organizes nationwide pastoral care and apostolate.

Il Concilio Vaticano II richiese la riforma degli studi ecclesiastici superiori. A livello della Santa Sede questo compito fu affidato alla Congregazione per l'Educazione Cattolica. Essa fu incaricata del rinnovamento degli studi ecclesiastici, come pure dell'educazione e formazione teologica dei seminaristi nei Seminari Maggiori. Il periodo del dopo Concilio fu il tempo dei lavori intensi della Congregazione per realizzare questo compito. L'Arcivescovo di Cracovia, Card. Karol Wojtyla partecipò attivamente a questi lavori, prima di tutto perchè amava la teologia e poi a causa delle funzioni avute nell'Episcopato Polacco. Era Grande Cancelliere della Facoltà Teologica di Cracovia, Presidente della Commissione per la Dottrina Cattolica presso l’Episcopato Polacco, Presidente del Consiglio per lo Studio dell’Episcopato e membro della Congregazione per l'Educazione Cattolica. A causa d: questi incarichi si occupava della Pontificia Facoltà Teologica di Cracovia, come pure delle scuole superiori ecclesiastiche in Polonia e delle università cattoliche in tutta la Chiesa.

All the faithful are called to holiness by observing sacred times, i.e. feast days and days of penance. The catalogue of feast days in Poland comes from the Code of Canon Law, Concordat from 1993, acts of the conference of bishops authorised by the Holy See and the national legislation. The observance of fast and abstinence comes from divine law, whereas the canon law and a acts of the conference of bishops are determining times and forms of its observance.
Wszyscy wierni powołani są dążyć do świętości, którą pomaga im osiągnąć obchodzenie czasów świętych jawiących się jako dni świąteczne i dni pokuty. Katalog świątecznych dni w Polsce został skonstruowany w oparciu o Kodeks Prawa Kanonicznego, konkordat z 1993 roku, postanowienia Konferencji Episkopatu Polski zaakceptowane przez Stolicę Apostolską i o prawodawstwo państwowe. Pokuta obowiązuje wiernych na podstawie prawa Bożego, zaś czasy i sposoby jego realizacji określa prawodawstwo powszechne i polskie prawodawstwo partykularne.

Obradujący w dniach od 5–19 października 2014 roku III Nadzwyczajny Synod Biskupów zajął się małżeństwem i rodziną w społeczności świeckiej i w Kościele oraz zagrożeniami uderzającymi w rodzinę. Dużo miejsca ojcowie synodalni poświęcili sprawie pomocy zagrożonej rodzinie, a w szczególności osobom rozwiedzionym, które zawarły ponowny związek małżeński. Obrady były utrzymane w klimacie wierności tradycyjnemu nauczaniu Kościoła o małżeństwie i rodzinie, chociaż niektórzy ojcowie przedkładali propozycje, które wybiegają poza jego ramy.
The Third Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops was held in the Vatican from 5 to 19 October 2014. The paper offers a short presentation and analysis of the documents of the meeting. The discussions during the Synod were concentrated on the marriage and family issues, especially in the context of the problems and threats, which the modern world poses to the two institutions. The Fathers of the Synod also dedicated a lot of time during the discussions to the issues of assistance and help to families, as well as to the divorced faithful who contracted another, but only a civil one, marriage. The deliberations during the Synod reflected rather the traditional catholic teaching, but some of the voices during discussion did not follow it.

Cardinal Karol Wojtyła, inspired by the Second Vatican Council, initiated a renewal of Krakow’s Church. The process was multidimensional and involved, among others, a reform of existing archdiocesan structures and a creation of new ones. The renewal was deeply rooted in the theology of the Second Vatican Council, especially in its teaching on the Church, presented by the Council as a community of the People of God, and the Mystical Body of Christ. To achieve accurate reception of the teaching of the Council, card. Wojtyła used the Archdiocesan Synod of Krakow and the Provincial Council.

On April 19th, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI erected the Pontifical University. The next vital step was to introduce the university, that is, both the fact of its existence and its activity, into Polish law.The required procedure was held in both chambers of the Polish Parliament in cooperation with the Polish Government. The special financial law was enacted by the Sejm (380 members of the chamber were in favor, 412 were voting), and by the Senat (86 members of the chamber were in favor, 87 were voting).The law in question recognized the decision of the Pope and introduced the name of the academic institution, which is the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow, into Polish law system and granted the university funds from the public finance according to the same rules, which apply to the public universities in Poland.

The Synod of Bishops issued the outcome of its work about the mission of the family in the Church and in the world, in the document titled The Final Report of The Synod of Bishops to the Holy Father, Pope Francis. The document in question presents situation of marriages and families in the contemporary world and the pros and cons of their situation. The Synod continues the traditional teaching of the Church about marriage and family. It also offers, referring to the Divine Mercy, solutions to some problems and difficulties that put in danger families and marriages nowadays.

Die fünfzigste Jahreswende der im J. 1936 abgehaltenen ersten polnischen Plenarsynode gibt. Anlass, diese im Leben der Kirche in Polen bedeutende historische und religiöse Begebenheit in Erinnerung zu bringen. Unter vielen anderen Angelegeheiten behandeln die Dokumente der Synode auch die Rolle und die Aufgaben der katholischen Laien. Die Synode verpflichtet die Laien zur aktiven Anteilnahme an der apostolischen Tätigkeit der Kirche, die sie in der Mitarbeit mit der Hierarchie und dem Klerus führen sollen. Die wichtigste Form des Apostolates der Laien ist das Zeugnis ihres Lebens, das sie zu dem Apostolat in katholischen Vereinen, besonders in der Katholischen Aktion, vorbereitet und einführt. Die Laien sollen durch ihre mannigfaltige apostolische Tätigkeit die Erneuerung des sozialen und politischen Lebens nach den Prinzipien der sozialen Gerechtigkeit und Liebe bewirken. Diese Erneuerung ist eine patriotische Pflicht aller Polen. Die Synode fordert auf zur Anteilnahme an der Berufung der Kirche, die sich vor allem in der Pfarrgemeinde realisiert. Zu den wichtigsten Aufgaben der katholischen Laien gehört die Sorge um die Heiligkeit und Unauflöslichkeit der Ehe, als auch die Sorge um die katholische Erziehung der Kinder und der Jugend in der Familie und in der Schule.

L’esortazione apostolica Christifideles laici, dedicata ai laici, mostra qual é il loro ruolo, quali sono i loro compiti ed il loro posto nella Chiesa. La Chiesa é una comunità, é il Popolo di Dio, costituito dai fedeli laici, che sono Chiesa. La Chiesa - Comunità ha il dono del sacerdozio di Cristo. Fedeli laici partecipano a tale sacerdozio. Il sacerdozio universale, al quale partecipano i laici, é sostanzialmente differente dal sacerdozio di servizio che deriva dall’ordinazione. I laici che partecipano al sacerdozio prendono parte, nel modo a loro proprio, alle triplice missione di Cristo e della Chiesa: santificatrice, profetica e regale. Per poter compiere questa missione essi sono arricchiti dai carismi, ad opera dello Spirito Santo. Chiamati da Cristo a lavorare nalla Chiesa-Vigna, hanno vari compiti e serivzi da assolvere. Possono peró svolgere soltanto i servizi che non richiedono l’ordinazione. Essi realizzano il loro impegno nella vita della Chiesa, essendo attivi nelle proprie dioecesi e parrocchie. Lì servono la Chiesa universale Essì servono la Chiesa partecipando al suo apostolato. L’efficacia ed i frutti di tale apostolato dipendono dalla loro unione con Cristo, che é la vita, mentre i fedeli laici sono i tralci. Il debito compimento dell’opera apostolica esige una formazione adeguata e completa.
