Opis:
Przedmiotem pracy jest ujawnienie i charakteryzacja realnej struktury nowych typów scyntylacyjnych monokryształów mieszanych granatów lutetowo-itrowo-glinowych (LuxY1-x)3Al5O12 (LuYAG) aktywowanych prazeodymem oraz niedomieszkowanych. Badania wykonano przy użyciu konwencjonalnego źródła promieniowania rentgenowskiego metodą rentgenowskiej topografii dwukrystalicznej oraz za pomocą dyfraktometrii wysokorozdzielczej. Wykonano również badania polaryskopowe. Na wybranych próbkach przeprowadzono badanie jednorodności składu chemicznego za pomocą skaningowego mikroskopu elektronowego z przystawką do spektroskopii z dyspersją energii (EDX). Topogramy rentgenowskie przebadanych próbek wskazują na dobrą jakość strukturalną badanych monokryształów. Pewnym problemem strukturalnym zaobserwowanym na wykonanych topogramach dwukrystalicznych są naprężenia sieci, których pierwotną przyczyną są efekty segregacyjne i różne obszary ściankowane.
The present paper concerns revealing and detailed characterization of the real structure of the new scintillator crystals of mixed lutetium-yttrium-aluminum garnets (LuxY1-x)3Al5O12 (LuYAG) , either undoped or activated by praseodymium. The characterization of the crystals has been performed by means of the following methods, using conventional X-ray sources: double crystal topography and high resolution diffractometry. Polariscopic investigations have also been performed. Moreover, selected samples have been studied by scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDX) attachment, among others to investigate their chemical homogeneity. The topographs of the analyzed samples indicate a good crystallographic quality of the crystals. Some crystallographic imperfections include residual strains, primarily caused by dopant and chemical composition segregation as well as some facetted regions.

Opis:
The band bending effect at the ZnSe-GaAs interface Was studied by means of Raman scattering induced by electric-field related to longitudinal-optical (LO) phonons. It has been shown that the variation of the band bending in GaAs can be modifled by changes in the electron concentration of ZnSe epilayer and the variation of the sample temperature.

Paper presents results of measurement accuracy evaluation of two laser rangefinders (TruPulse and ForestPro integrated with MapStar compass) mounted on monopod and tripod under the forest conditions. The precise data on spatial coordinates of 34 trees in the Rogów Arboretum and 8 points from the geodetic control network in the Głuchów Forest were used. The results show that the measurement sets equipped with ForestPro and MapStar were more accurate than TruPulse ones. However, no significant influence of applied stands on the measurement accuracy was observed.

Mechanical site preparation (MSP) is commonly used to enable forest regeneration of clear-cuts. Less intense methods may be more suitable from an environmental point of view, but such a method can result in the lack of natural regeneration. We compare the influence of three MSP methods on natural regeneration of Scots pine. The methods differ in their degree of soil disturbance. The effects of MSP by forest plough (FP), active plough (AP), and forest cutter (FC) on density, quality, and biometric parameters of one-year old seedlings were determined. The highest density of seedlings was obtained in the FP treatment (188,000 seedlings ha–1). The seedling density was significantly lower in the AP method (121,000 seedlings ha–1), and in the FC variant (36,000 seedlings ha–1). The best quality seedlings were found in the FC variant, and the worst – in the FP treatment. Most biometric parameters of seedlings did not differ by MSP method, except for the root length and root:shoot ratio. By the end of growing season, in the FP treatment, 1-year old seedlings formed a top bud more than twice as often as the seedlings from the AP and FC treatments. The FP method led to the best Scots pine natural regeneration. The results obtained in the FC variant were not as good as in the FP method, though they were still acceptable from the silvicultural point of view. The FC method was the least intensive method of site preparation, yet it is considered the most appropriate from the environmental (soil protection) point of view.

In this paper we report the elastooptic constants p$\text{}_{ij}$ of strontium lanthanum aluminate, SrLaAlO$\text{}_{4}$ and strontium lanthanum gallate SrLaGaO$\text{}_{4}$ single crystals, which were determined at room temperature using Brillouin scattering method. In order to investigate the elastooptic constants of SrLaAlO$\text{}_{4}$ and SrLaGaO$\text{}_{4}$ single crystals, a substitution method proposed by Cummins and Schoen, and developed by Nelson and Lax was used. The obtained results are also discussed in terms of the nature defects which might arise in these crystals during growth process.

In this paper we report preliminary results of optical studies on Y$\text{}_{3}$Al$\text{}_{5}$O$\text{}_{12}$ (YAG) crystals codoped with Ce and Mg. By using measurements of luminescence, absorption, and luminescence excitation spectra we demonstrate that although the basic features introduced to the YAG host by the Ce-doping remain intact, the Mg-codoping imposes some significant changes on other properties of the material. These changes are potentially important for laser and/or scintillator applications of YAG:Ce and are due, most likely, to modifications of defect populations in the material. We characterize them by using the techniques of thermoluminescence and excited state absorption under excimer laser pumping. These techniques, interestingly, yield results that seem inconsistent. While the thermoluminescence signal of the Mg-doped sample is strongly reduced, suggesting that trap concentrations in the presence of Mg are suppressed, the excited state absorption signal, which we also relate to the traps, is higher. We offer a tentative explanation of this contradiction between the two experiments that involves a massive transfer of electrons from the Mg-related defects to the excited state absorption centers caused by the excimer pump itself.

The paper reports on the growth conditions of Li$\text{}_{2}$B$\text{}_{4}$O$\text{}_{7}$ single crystals in both pure and Yb, Co, Mn doped systems. The crystals were grown by the Czochralski method using an intentional concentration of the above-mentioned ions at a level of 0.5 mol.%. The pure and Mn-doped crystals were found to be highly transparent and clear. The crystals doped with Yb$\text{}_{2}$O$\text{}_{3}$ had a lot of precipitations making them opaque. The Co-doped crystals were purple-blue in colour and highly transparent. The growth of Yb and Co doped Li$\text{}_{2}$B$\text{}_{4}$O$\text{}_{7}$ crystals was reported for the first time in this paper. Absorption was measured in the range of 200 to 3200 nm, moreover analysis of changes in the absorption spectrum ofγ-irradiated pure and doped Li$\text{}_{2}$B$\text{}_{4}$O$\text{}_{7}$ crystals was performed. Some thermoluminescence properties were measured, e.g. energies and lifetimes of the traps of different charge carriers occurring in the crystals at low temperatures.

WORK PREDISPOSITIONS OF TELE-WORKER
Opis:
This article describes an online tool for preliminary (self-)diagnosis of personal competency potential from the perspective of telework. It was developed to meet the needs of the EFZ vertical portal (an Internet portal dedicated to flexible forms of employment). On one hand, the article presents the structure of the tool itself, including the implemented appraisal approach that is based on an analysis of a person's internal motivations as well as the proposed model of universal telework attributes. On the other hand, it describes the format of feedback information that is automatically generated by the tool, which is the result of the appraisal of the person's competency potential for undertaking activities of the telework type. The presentation of the tool includes comments interpreting appraisal results that may be obtained on the EFZ vertical portal, for example.
