    Opis:
    The aim of the article was to present the issue of financial exclusion and define sensitive areas of this phenomenon. The factors that may be relevant for measuring the degree of financial exclusion were analysed. An attempt was also made to determine the difficulties in access to financial services in the context of practices applied by both the supply and demand sides. In addition, barriers to the use of services were analysed as were financial products in terms of practices used by supply and demand. The typology of financial exclusion presented in the article is an attempt to define the type and scope of the phenomenon. Bank exclusion, credit exclusion and exclusion from the savings system are financial exclusion indicators. Each of those types of exclusion affects the economic and social level. Financial exclusion, which is one of the symptoms of the imbalance between demand and supply, is understood here as total or partial access to financial services offered by the market. The article also attempts to analyse the causes of exclusion with the division into supply and demand factors. The typology of financial exclusion proposed in the article may be a contributing factor to the reverse phenomenon, which is financial inclusion.

    The paper discusses the problems connected with effects of revitalization. The authors concentrate on the differences resulting from ways as well as used base to carry out process of revitalization. The aim of the paper is assessment of the revitalized place carried out without analysis based on historical function of that place. To this end the authors used one of Wroclaw district conducted the desk research and field research. The authors used the method of observation and case studies. As a result, it can be said that revitalization process should be carried out with maintaining the historical function and the needs of inhabitants of revitalized places. The authors also refer to another example of revitalization process and compare it in the context of used ways and effects. According to the conducted research it can be said that the process of revitalization result from both legal principles and form awareness of local authorities in the context of quality of live and inhabitant needs.

    Na terenie Dolnego Śląska w okresie dynamicznego rozwoju kolejnictwa w XIX w. powstały liczne obiekty związane z infrastrukturą kolejową. Wybudowano wtedy budowle wyjątkowe pod względem architektonicznym oraz inżynieryjnym. Celem pracy jest ukazanie obiektów związanych z kolejnictwem na Dolnym Śląsku, mających istotne walory architektoniczne, historyczne, kulturowe i krajobrazowe, a na skutek zaprzestania użytkowania – niszczejących i popadających w ruinę. Zamierzeniem autorek było też wskazanie potencjalnych źródeł inspiracji do rewitalizacji opisanych dworców – przykładów adaptacji budynków kolejowych do nowych zadań.W artykule zaprezentowano rekonstrukcje wybranych dworców w formie makiet architektonicznych. Szczegółowo zostały omówione trzy obiekty reprezentujące różne rozwiązania funkcjonalne i kubaturowe: Dworzec Marchijski we Wrocławiu, pierwszy dworzec w Jaworzynie Śląskiej oraz stacja kolejowa w Żelaźnie. Ich rekonstrukcje zostały wykonane na podstawie archiwaliów (odtworzenie pierwotnego wyglądu obiektu na podstawie archiwalnej dokumentacji budowlanej, rycin, fotografii) oraz opracowań naukowych i kart ewidencyjnych zabytków. Istotnym zadaniem publikacji było pokazanie wybranych założeń kolejowych w dobie ich świetności oraz skonfrontowanie ze stanem obecnym.
    In Lower Silesia, during the period of dynamic development of the railway industry in the 19th century, numerous objects related to railway infrastructure were created. At that time, some unique architectural and engineering objects were built. This article discusses selected buildings related to the railways in Lower Silesia that have significant architectural, historical, cultural and landscape values, but which have deteriorated and fallen into disrepair as a result of not being used. The authors’ intention was also to show potential sources of inspiration for the revitalization of the described cases – examples of railway station adaptation to new functions.The article presents reconstructions of selected stations in the form of architectural models. Three objects representing various functional and spatial solutions were discussed in detail: Marchijski Railway Station in Wrocław, the station in Jaworzyna Śląska, and the station in Żelazno. Reconstruction mockups of the facilities were made using archival building documentation, engravings and photographs, data from the Register of Monuments and scientific studies to research their original appearance and provide information on the changes that occurred over time to each facility and its functioning. An important aim k of the publication is to show selected railway facilities in the era of their splendor and to contrast this with their current state.

    Wielu początkujących inwestorów zastanawia się, który z segmentów rynku finansowego wybrać, aby odnieść jak największy sukces inwestycyjny. Często ich wybór pada na rynek Forex, który jest najszybciej rozwijającym się rynkiem finansowym na świecie. Dodatkowo w literaturze przedmiotu spotkać się można z wieloma technikami i narzędziami umożliwiającymi stworzenie indywidualnej i dopasowanej do inwestora strategii inwestycyjnej. Niniejsze opracowanie ma celu prezentację jednej z takich strategii inwestycyjnych, opartej na klasycznej analizie technicznej – strategię Price Action. Strategia ta bazuje jedynie na wykresach cenowych i zakłada, że wszystkie aktualne warunki rynkowe są odzwierciedlone w postaci ceny. Jak wskazują wyniki prowadzonych analiz danych historycznych, zachowania cen regularnie się powtarzają i układają w stosunkowo przewidywalne schematy, tworząc tzw. trendy. Z tego też powodu stworzenie pewnego rodzaju idealnej strategii inwestycyjnej polega na ciągłej weryfikacji i modyfikacji przyjętych założeń. Dlatego też autorki niniejszej pracy postanowiły poddać wybraną strategię inwestycyjną optymalizacji w celu zwiększenia jej skuteczności poprzez zastosowanie innowacyjnej techniki Price Actions.
    Many of the novice investors wonder which financial market should they select to achieve the greatest investment success. Often, they choose Forex, as the fastest growing financial market in the world. Moreover, in the literature one can find many techniques and tools, which can help create a well tailored Forex investment strategy. The main goal of this article is to present one of investment strategies based on the classic technical analysis – Price Action technique. This strategy is based on price plots and assumes that prices reflect current market condition. Results of the historical data analysis showed that price behaviour regularly repeat and forms relatively predictable patterns which create so-called trends. That’s why the process of creating an ideal investment strategy involves continuous verification and modification of underlying assumptions. Therefore the authors of this paper decided to optimize selected investment strategy in order to increase its effectiveness through the use of the innovative Price Actions technique.

    Globalization, uncertainty and volatility of the environment are forcing organizations to use new concepts that support the effective organization management, including supply chain management. The aim of the article is to answer what is supply chain management and lean management and if the lean management tools may be applied in the supply chain optimization. Critical analysis of literature indicates that value stream mapping is a useful tool in optimization of supply chain. It is observed that the term lean supply chain emerges.     Introduction: The surgeon’s viewpoint on a patient with cystic fibrosis differs from that of a pediatrician or internist. The problems a cystic fibrosis specialist encounters are different from those faced by the surgeon who takes over the patient in a very advanced, often terminal stage of the disease. Hence, the main problem for the surgeon is the decision concerning the surgery (lung transplantation, pneumonectomy, lobectomy). It is, therefore, important to lay down fundamental and appropriate rules concerning the indications and contraindications for lung transplantation, especially in patients with cystic fibrosis. Aim: The aim of this study was to analyze the methods of qualifying and preparing patients for surgery, as well as carrying out the procedure of transplantation and postoperative short and long-term care. Material and methods: The investigation was carried out on 16 patients with cystic fibrosis. Three were operated on and 10 were on the waiting list for transplantation. Two patients on the waiting list died, one patient was disqualified from transplantation. During qualification for lung transplantation, strict indications, contraindications and other factors (such as blood type, patient’s height, coexisting complications) were taken under consideration. Results: All the 3 patients after lung transplantation are alive and under our constant surveillance. Ten patients await transplantation, though four of them are suspended due to hepatitis C infection. Two patients on the waiting list died: one from respiratory insufficiency and the other in the course of bridgeto-transplant veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation due to hepatic failure. One patient has been disqualified because of cachexia. Conclusions: Since lung transplantation is the final treatment of the end-stage pulmonary insufficiency in cystic fibrosis patients, the number of such procedures in cystic fibrosis is still too low in Poland. The fast development of these procedures is highly needed. It is necessary to develop better cooperation between different disciplines and specialists, especially between pediatricians and surgeons. The correct choice of the suitable moment for lung transplantation is crucial for the success of the procedure.
    Wstęp: Punt widzenia chirurga odnośnie leczenia pacjenta z mukowiscydozą różni się od spojrzenia pediatry czy internisty. Duży jest bagaż zadań lekarza specjalisty w zakresie leczenia chorego z mukowiscydozą w różnych okresach choroby, a inny chirurga, który przejmuje go w bardzo zaawansowanym, a nierzadko w terminalnym stadium. Stąd dla chirurga głównym problemem jest podjęcie decyzji odnośnie leczenia operacyjnego (transplantacja płuc, pneumonektomia, lobektomia). Dlatego tak ważne jest sformułowanie podstawowych i właściwych zasad dotyczących wskazań i przeciwwskazań do transplantacji płuc zwłaszcza w odniesieniu do pacjentów z mukowiscydozą. Cel: Celem pracy była analiza metod kwalifikacji i przygotowania, a także przeprowadzenia transplantacji oraz pooperacyjnej opieki krótko- i długoterminowej. Materiał i metody: W niniejszej pracy przedstawiamy 3 przypadki pacjentów z mukowiscydozą po zabiegu transplantacji płuc oraz 10 kandydatów, którzy w chwili obecnej są potencjalnymi biorcami narządu i oczekują na jej przeprowadzenie. Dwóch pacjentów nie doczekało przeszczepienia, jedna pacjentka została zdyskwalifikowana z zabiegu. W toku kwalifikacji do transplantacji płuc omawiane są istniejące wskazania, przeciwwskazania i szereg innych czynników (takich jak grupa krwi, wysokość ciała pacjenta, istniejące powikłania choroby podstawowej, choroby współistniejące). Wyniki: Wszyscy (troje) pacjenci po przeprowadzonej transplantacji żyją i są pod stałą kontrolą naszego ośrodka. Z dziesięciu kandydatów oczekujących na przeszczepienie, czterech jest zawieszonych na liście oczekujących z powodu infekcji (wirusowe zapalenie wątroby typu C). Dwóch pacjentów nie doczekało przeszczepienia: pierwszy zmarł z powodu niewydolności oddechowej, adrugi kwalifikowany do przeszczepienia płuc iwątroby pozostający na pozaustrojowym natlenianiu membranowym żylno-żylnym, zmarł wskutek niewydolności wątroby. Jedna pacjentka została zdyskwalifikowana z zabiegu z powodu skrajnego niedoboru masy ciała. Wnioski: Biorąc pod uwagę, że transplantacja płuc jest ostatecznym leczeniem schyłkowej niewydolności oddechowej w mukowiscydozie. Liczba wykonywanych w Polsce przeszczepień płuc u chorych z mukowiscydozą jest ciągle za mała, o czym świadczy los oczekujących pacjentów. Konieczny jest więc szybki rozwój placówek zajmujących się przeszczepieniami płuc u tych chorych. Wybór odpowiedniego momentu przeprowadzenia transplantacji płuc, ma zasadnicze znaczenie dla powodzenia procedury.
