    Opis:
    The article presents theoretical considerations on the changes in the perception of the function and role of the teacher, responding to the dynamics of modern society. The major directions of change may include: prepare learners to be independent of cognitive, inspiring of development, and introduction to the world of knowledge (Kwiatkowska, 2008, p. 41-45). Modern teacher of adult people, to be ready to meet these requirements should be assisted in the process of improvement and self-education, and one of the proposals to prepare them for the new features is the idea of reflective practice. Recent years have shown increased interest in teacher education in the direction of reflective practitioners, mainly through action research. Modern teacher is not only a professional who teaches well, but also creates knowledge. Action research are currently the subject of increasing interest to researchers and the practitioners, because of the possibility of personal development and the efficient movement in an increasingly complex and ambiguous reality.

    Celem mojego artykułu jest próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, jakie dyskursy obecne są w wiedzy o młodzieży. Przegląd literatury prowadzi do wniosku, że wiedza ta budowana jest głównie w ramach dyskursu normatywnego na płaszczyźnie epistemologicznej, w którym funkcjonowanie społeczne jest wartościowane na postawie norm, a tym samym wyznaczonych powinności.
    The aim of my article is to try to answer the question of what discourses are present in knowledge about young people. A review of the literature leads to the conclusion that this knowledge is built mainly within the normative discourse on the epistemological level, in which social functioning is evaluated on the basis of norms, and thus defined obligations.

    Proces badawczy związany jest z refleksją na temat poprawności formułowanych wniosków. W badaniach jakościowych, które nie posługują się tak sformalizowanymi procedurami do oceny trafności i rzetelności jak w badaniach ilościowych, pojawia się przestrzeń do dyskusji nad innymi warunkami, na podstawie których można ocenić poprawność. Badania jakościowe prowadzą do wyjaśnień jednostkowych i ugruntowanych w określonym kontekście. Kwestia kontekstu danych nabiera szczególnie ważnego znaczenia i jest obecna na każdym etapie procesu badawczego. W niniejszym tekście dokonuję analizy obecności kontekstu, odnosząc się do definicji językowych. Podaję przykłady z przeprowadzonych badań etnograficznych w gimnazjum.
    The research process is connected with reflection on the correctness of the conclusions. In qualitative research, which does not use such formalized procedures to assess validity and reliability as quantitative research does, there is a space for discussion about other conditions, on the basis of which to judge the correctness. Qualitative research leads to individual explanations and is grounded in a specific context. The issue of the data context acquires a particularly important meaning and is present at every stage of the research process. This text analyzes the presence of context, referring to language definitions, with examples from ethnographic research conducted in the gymnasium.

    The article is the presentation of the work on the upgrading of the test to measure levels of identity in adulthood. The test is based on the theory of identity statuses James Marcia who describes four statuses: identity diffusion, foreclosures, moratorium and achievement. Basic calculations were made with a view to standardization and normalization of questionnaire. This test was designed to research of the teachers' identity in early adulthood. It was also used in studies of young adults with schizophrenia. Currently, studies are ongoing identity of adults from families with different emotional relationships that allow for verification of the calculations.

    The article is an attempt to present trends in contemporary social researches, with particular focus on educational research. The basis for discussion are paradigms that are examined from three perspectives: stabilization, change and utility. I make use of example of a personal struggle with the dilemma of associated with adequacy of research in the positivist paradigm, but in case of humanistic and postmodern return. One solution to this dilemma is to appeal to purpose of researches and utility of adopted perspective in relation to ontology and epistemology phenomenon.
    Artykuł podejmuje próbę zarysowania tendencji we współczesnych badaniach społecznych, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem badań pedagogicznych. Podstawą rozważań są paradygmaty, jako podstawa tworzenia wiedzy, które rozpatruję z trzech perspektyw: stabilizacji, zmiany oraz użyteczności. Posługuję się przykładem osobistych zmagań nad dylematem związanym z adekwatnością badań prowadzonych w paradygmacie pozytywistycznym, ale w sytuacji zwrotu humanistycznego i postmodernistycznego. Jednym z rozwiązań powstałego dylematu jest odwołanie się do celu badań i użyteczności przyjętej perspektywy w stosunku do ontologii i epistemologii zjawiska.

    The study presents a critical analysis of visual materials contained in civic education textbooks with the purpose to identify traits of discrimination of individuals with a “skin colour” other than “white”. The undertaken quantitative and qualitative analyses allowed for drawing a conclusion that the depiction of persons in the researched visual material did in fact bear certain traits of discrimination. Moreover, it was concluded that what may be observed is compound discrimination. The studies presented in the article were conducted within a larger-scale project entitled Gender in textbooks.

    Opis:
    The article is a report from a study on the sense of self-efficacy in the period of early adulthood, measured with the Sense of Efficacy Test (SET) by M. Chomczyńska-Rubacha and K. Rubacha. The variable was studied with regard to two differentiating categories: biological sex and age. The research was quantitative, based on a randomly selected research sample. The obtained results indicate that women are characterised by a significantly lower sense of self-efficacy as compared with men; however, there are no significant differences between various age groups. The sex-related differences may be sought in the development of other kind of competences in men and women.
    Artykuł jest raportem z badań nad poczuciem własnej skuteczności w okresie wczesnej dorosłości, badanej testem TPS, autorstwa M. Chomczyńskiej-Rubachy i K. Rubachy. Poziom zmiennej badano w oparciu o dwie różnicujące kategorie: płeć biologiczną i wiek. Badania miały charakter ilościowy oparte na losowo dobranej próbce badawczej. Rezultaty badań wskazują, że kobiety charakteryzują się istotnie niższym poczuciem skuteczności niż mężczyźni, natomiast nie ma różnic pomiędzy grupami wiekowymi. Skutków różnic płciowych można poszukiwać w rozwoju innego rodzaju kompetencji u kobiet i mężczyzn.
    Der Artikel ist ein Untersuchungsbericht über das Gefühl der Selbstwirksamkeit im frühen Erwachsenenalter, untersucht mit dem TPS-Test (Selbstwirksamkeitstest) von M. Chomczyńska-Rubacha und K. Rubacha. Der Wert der Variable wurde anhand von zwei differenzierenden Kategorien – dem biologischen Geschlecht und dem Alter – untersucht. Die Untersuchungen hatten einen quantitativen Charakter und stützten sich auf eine stichprobenartig gewählte Untersuchungsprobe. Aus den Untersuchungsergebnissen resultiert, dass Frauen ein wesentlich niedrigeres Gefühl der Selbstwirksamkeit kennzeichnet als es bei den Männern der Fall ist, es bestehen jedoch keine Unterschiede zwischen einzelnen Altersgruppen. Die Folgen der Geschlechtsunterschiede kann man in der Entwicklung einer anderen Art der Kompetenzen bei Frauen und Männern suchen.
