    Opis:
    The following work briefly presents a research project that aims at identifying barriers obstructing distance education. The research was conducted on the overall number of 158 distance students. The comparative group consisted of 430 traditional students. The attention was focused on the problems associated with Internet studies and there was a comparative analysis conducted on the perception of described factors by e-learning and traditional students (day and weekend studies). The results suggest that factors commonly perceived as the main disadvantages of distance studies are not more onerous than for traditional students.

    The foundation and development of the Information Society set new tasks before universities, particularly technical schools all over the world. Since the knowledge of computer science doubles approximately every three years, there is a necessity for IT specialists of a constant self-education. Following the changes is possible only using electronic tools and information stored in the Internet. The fact is that a lot of universities do not pay enough attention to get their students into the habit of using e-learning tools every day. Since higher education needs to be effective and efficient, it is indispensable to use distance learning tools to support both stationary and constant learning. This paper presents the comparative research of the level of the application of the elearning tools, conducted among the students of computer science of the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Lodz.

    The paper describes some possibilities of the Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable as an universal signal transmitting line at the range of radiofrequencies from 0,1 to 100 MHz. Four pairs of the UTP in the subject of the impedance of the line with the different load were examined. The Vector Network Analyzer was used as a base measurement equipment [1,2]. Results are clearly shown using charts from the freeware IG-miniVNA computer program. The final experiments conclusion presents the UTP 5e category as a good general purpose transmitting line for universal 100 ohm impedance sources and loads [3].

    We introduced the concept and setting up of a new platform to support research, which was worked out in the Information Technology Institute, Academy of Management in Lodz. The platform is the subject of two projects developed in the ITI. The role of e-Science Platform (ESP) is to support distributed research teams activities, whose members work on the same subject but in separated research centers. The ESP provides the research teams tools for effective communication, storage and management of data and information generated during the research, within the so-called the Virtual Research Area (VRA). Many other useful tools for the researchers were also presented. An important element of the project is to initiate and stimulate research, and to give organizational and legal assistance from specialized units operating within the framework of ESP modules.

    Opis:
    The conception of proposed recording format is the example of the theoretical and practical application of the FBS method, which was precisely described in thesis [18,19,20]. The foundation of the presented recording format is the use of a new method of fractal basis splines (FB-splines), which allows the reconstruction of complex geometric structures with the properties of fractals. Fractral basis splines method is based on the use of non-local characteristics to describe the interpolation nodes. With that the one-parameter family of fractal curves is used as the basic approximating elements.

    W artykule przedstawiono projekt autonomicznego robota inspekcyjnego. Ze względu na fakt, że komercyjne rozwiązania nie oferują satysfakcjonującej funkcjonalności w stosunkowo niskiej cenie zdecydowano się zaprojektować autonomicznego robota inspekcyjnego na bazie komercyjnej platformy wyposażonej w autorskie rozwiązanie laserowego systemu pomiarowego 3D. Projekt lasera 3D wykonano z wykorzystaniem technik szybkiego prototypowania metodą druku 3D. Autonomiczny robot mobilny nawigowany jest na podstawie systemu IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) ze zintegrowanym GPS (Global Positioning System). Opracowane rozwiązanie dostarcza użytkownikowi danych w postaci map lokalnych 3D wraz z częściową analizą semantyczną (obliczanie wektorów normalnych dla chmury punktów metodą PCA Principal Component Analysis) w trybie on-line. Przeprowadzono eksperymenty weryfikujące poprawność działania systemu. W rezultacie powstało nowoczesne stanowisko badawcze, które może być wykorzystane do kolejnych badań z wykorzystaniem mobilnych systemów inspekcyjnych.
    In the article the project of autonomous inspection robot is shown. Instead of commercial applications, proposed approach with relatively lower prize offer satisfactory functionality. Proposed approach is based on State of the Art mobile platform equipped with developed 3D laser measurement system 3D. Laser 3D is developed based on Fused Deposition Modeling FDM technology. Autonomous mobile robot is using IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) wit GPS (Global Positioning System) to navigate in outdoor environment. The approach offers 3D cloud of points augmented by normal vectors looking form user point of view. Normal vectors are computed using PCA (Principal Component Analysis) method in on-line fashion. The proof of concept was demonstrated based on the experiment in the real environment. As a result the modern research platform is developed, which can be used for further inspection systems' analysis.

    The article presents the scope of application of incremental Rapid Prototyping/Rapid Tooling (RP/RT) – VoxelJet methods to the process of manufacturing casting moulds and casts of gear. The additive Rapid Prototyping methods (SL, FDM, 3DP, JS) are predominantly used for the production of models and model sets for casting moulds. The Rapid Tooling methods, such as: VoxelJet, ZCast-3DP and ProMetalRCT, enable the fabrication of casting moulds in the incremental process. The application of the RP/RT methods in cast production makes it possible to speed up the prototype preparation process. This is particularly vital with elements of complex shapes. The time required for the manufacture of the model, the mould and the cast proper may vary from a few to several dozen hours.
