The main aim of the article is to discuss the theory of dramatic figures in the 20th century. Dramatic figure is a vital problem for the theory of drama as well as the theory of theatre. In the paper is presented Sinko theory of figure – as an independent argument of the F function; and Greimas theory of actant. Those two theories are recognized to be the most valuable and significant in the theory of dramatic figures. Other theories of figures are also considered: Łotman – figure as a distinctive feature; Barthes – semem theory; Ubersfeld – the actant theory. All those proposals that have been acknowledged are invariable implementations of Sinko and Greimas theory.

The article presents the possibilities of using Formal Concept Analysis, FCA, in intralingual and machine translations. Let me draw your attention to the necessity of joining formal and conceptual systems into one system based on relations of the particular semantic deposits SD in the specific knowledge representation KR with defining linguistic units. I called this defining a hybrid defining. The hybrid defining of linguistic units enables to examine their cognitive (hybrid) meaning, which is implemented in a form of a coherent semantic map of meanings. An exemplifying material, by means of which a process of meaning creation is shown, is a light unit.

The article analyses the volume of poetry by Roman Honet, alicja, by means of the method of analysis and interpretation of a literary text proposed by Jerzy Faryno. The division into primary content (direct, resulting from a linguistic utterance) and secondary content (resulting from a linguistic utterance indirectly) enables one to attempt to interpret uninterpretable, as it is considered in the literature on the subject, alicja. The structure of the volume itself, specific punctuation and grammar provide certain conditions concerning the image of poetic reality existing in the world presented by the lyrical I. What is more, the same motives appearing again and again, specific meta-oneirism, permanent palette of colours became a starting point for developing our proposal. This approach to the problem was also supported by thematic triplicity of poetic content visible in the poetry. The further part of the article presents intertextual references to the extratextual reality and real historical figures (related to the Second World War).

The article discusses the problem of the actor’s interpretation (resp. working on the role) from the perspective of anthropological semiotics. In this context, an actor’s part is treated as a social construct of the specific referential chain. The exemplification materials are three actor’s interpretations of the figure of Wojnicki from dramatic play Uncle Vanya by Atnon Chekhov (Zamachowski, Hudziak, Gancarczyk) staged between 1993 and 1994 in the following theatres: Teatr Studio in Warsaw (1993), Teatr Stary in Kraków (1993) and Teatr TV (1994).

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na rolę wywiadu antropologicznego w kontekście antropologii stosowanej wykorzystywanej w społecznych programach wojskowych, które służyły przeprowadzaniu kontrolowanych zmian społecznych oraz ich użyteczności w prowadzeniu wojny hybrydowej. Materiałem egzemplifikacyjnym zaprezentowanym w niniejszym artykule będzie program Rosyjskiego Ośrodka Badawczego (The Russian Research Center, dalej TRRC) kierowanego przez Clyde’a Kluckhohna w latach 1947(1948)–1953(1957). Artykuł został podzielony na dwie części. Część pierwsza ma charakter wprowadzający Czytelnika w problematykę wywiadu antropologicznego, która z drobnymi wyjątkami nie była w polskojęzycznej literaturze przedmiotu omawiana; część druga prezentuje program badawczy TRRC.
The purpose of this article is to draw attention to the role of anthropological interview in the context of applied anthropology used in social military programs controlled social changes and to show its usefulness in hybrid warfare. Exemplary material of this article will be the program of The Russian Research Center (TRRC) led by Clyde Kluckhohn in the years 1947-1953. The article is divided into two parts. The first part is an introduction of the reader to the problems of anthropological interview which, with minor exceptions, were not discussed in the Polish literature of the subject. The second part presents the research program of TRRC.

Opis:
Futurology (also futures studies) is a field of knowledge which has emerged as a result of the interdisciplinary problematisation of specific cognitive issues. The main objective of futurology is the creation of hypothetical scenarios for an alternative future in every aspect of human life, from changes relating to the life of an individual human being to changes within complex social structures, and, ultimately, in e.g. nations. The assumptions of cognitive futurology generally boil down to the maxim „probability and predictability in every aspect of human life”. In other words, the subject of futurological considerations encompasses all products of human activity, both material and abstract. However, here futurology is divided thematically and distinguished in accord with a given specific specialised task, e.g. within the framework of social anthropology (or, broadly understood, cultural studies) as well as of philosophy. Thus, one can point to popular futurology, or the popularisation of specific fields of knowledge through science-fiction literature, e.g. The Road (2006) by Cormac McCarthy. In addition to popular futurology, there is also analytical futurology, whose task is to create and analyse alternative futures. The proposed presentation will be devoted to this latter issue as well.

The subject of the considerations put forward in this article is an evaluation of the quality, in substantive and ethical terms, of the specialist translation into Polish of Henryk Hiż’s article ‘Peirce’s Influence on Logic in Poland’. The trans-    lation subjected to evaluation here was published in 2015 in the specialist philosophical journal Studia z Filozofii Polskiej  [Studies of Polish Philosophy] (October 2015, pp. 21–33). In the presented evaluation, I point out substantive and ethical violations committed by interpreter, calling attention to (a) the flouting of the principle cuilibet in arte sua ; (b) manipulation of source material; (c) dishonesty in philological-textological development; (d) improper editorial preparation; (e) disregard of the subsequent literature on the subject; (f) deliberate and unjustified abridgement of the original text. The deficiencies enumerated in points (a)–(f) are the result of interpreter’s adoption of the ‘publish or perish’ strategy, the overriding goal of which is to publish an article in a high-impact journal with the aim of achieving the most favourable bibliometric result in the shortest possible time, at a cost to the integrity and ethical responsibility of the translator-researcher.

Celem podejmowanej aktywności edukacyjnej jest samodoskonalenie się, zdobywanie wiedzy, umiejętności i nowych kompetencji. Dydaktyka jest dyscypliną nieustannie rozwijającą się i unowocześnianą, aby mogła sprostać współczesnym realiom, potrzebom odbiorców i aktualnym wymaganiom rynkowym. W tym kontekście coraz bardziej popularne są metody stawiające w centrum indywidualne potrzeby człowieka. Taki typ dydaktycznych działań nazywa się coachingiem. Coaching jako metoda jest jedynie środkiem wspomagającym proces uczenia się (doskonalenia się), co znaczy, że musi on być wsparty wiedzą filozoficzną niezbędną do budowania kompetencji przywódczych. W naszym artykule analizujemy możliwości coachingu jako narzędzia wspomagającego kompetencje przywódcze w świetle etyki stosowanej, co odnosi się do relacji „przywództwo–lojalność”, czy „przywództwo–osobiste zaangażowanie”.
In the paper, we discuss the educational potential of coaching as a complementary tool for leadership training. Coaching is treated as a supporting method in the process of learning that must be backed up with some philosophical aspects in virtues that allow building up social leadership competence. Thus, leader virtues, such as loyalty, personal example or duty are discussed as quality issues of the modern leader.

This article is confrontational with the theses presented in the paper: O pewnym (chybionym) studium przypadku [About a (wrong) case study ] (Chybińska 2017), which is the answer to the issues presented in the article: Etyka w przekładzie specjalistycznym a kompetencje tłumacza tekstów specjalistycznych - studium przypadku [Ethics in specialized translation and competence of specialist translator: case study] (Boroch 2017). In this article (Boroch 2017), the methodological principles in the specialist translation and the substantive and ethical consequences of their violation have been presented. Exemplary material was the Polish translation of Henryk Hiż's article: Peirce's Influence on Logic in Poland (Hiż 1997, 264–270) published in ”Studia z Filozofii Polskiej” in 2015 (Hiż 2015, 21–29) along with a biographical section (Chybińska 2015, 29–33) which both constitute a coherent publication. The article has raised the following issues: (1) the lack of justification of the basis of translation, i.e. the primacy of the manuscript over the printed version, that is the last one controlled by the author; (2) inconsistency with regard to termination of translation; (3) unauthorized introduction of a Polish neologism “dylematyczny” derived from the (non-existent) English lexical unit “dylemmatic” (Sic!); (4) proposal of the notation of Peirce's law: (p, q, r ) (Sic!).

Anthropological aggression is a means of waging war using information gained from a nation and its culture, social norms and habits and geographic conditions, as well as its history, traditions, etc. This type of activity is currently observed in Ukraine in the context of the war in the eastern part of the country. Anthropological aggression, however, can be minimized by the use of the anthropological defence. An example of this is the theatrical projects initiated by various artistic troupes all over the country. This paper presents the methods which are employed by the Ukrainian theatre to counteract this anthropological aggression. One can identify four basic fields of activity directed at creating the tools of anthropological defence: 1) combating stereotypes; 2) facilitating the integration and assimilation of internally displaced people; 3) theatrotherapy: 4) initiation of the social and political debate.

The article discusses the issue of using applied anthropology for military purposes as a tool of gaining information and ideological advantage of one of the military or propaganda conflicting sides. The article refers to the hypotheses concerning the evolution of language presented in an article by Magdalena Danielewiczowa and entitled What is language needed for? What is necessary in language? The hypotheses proposed by Danielewiczowa have far-reaching methodological consequences for cultural studies, especially those that strike a balance between general linguistics, linguistic semantics, anthropological linguistics, and philosophy of language. The organisation of research on cultural phenomena requires methodological planning enabling the minimum conditions of modern research methods to be met. These conditions are: (1) the definition of cognitive goals; (2) the determination of methods for the identification of variables (methodology); (3) research hypotheses formulated in affirmative (not interrogative or negative) sentences; (4) the existence of a relationship between the logical or analytical implications of variables and hypotheses; (5) the negation of hypotheses (counter-argumentation); (6) the substantiation of hypotheses. In this article I develop Danielewiczowa’s remarks on ways of using the term evolution, while also indicating the consequences of disregarding the conditions of correct reasoning within the framework of the research programme called anthropology of the word.
