Opis:
Depending on a model for organizational context within work groups and a job perspective for the socially responsible behaviors, we have developed and examined a model for small and medium enterprises' success within the work place that explains some reasons leading to small and medium institutions' success. The sample included 217 workers in small and medium companies in Iraq. It was found that the intellectual capital integration and intentional junior accountants' turnover were related to small and medium companies' success within the work place for companies' members, in addition, there was a direct relationship between accountants' turnover and intellectual capital integration and small and medium companies' success and there also was an indirect relationship mediated by the financial knowledge management system within work groups.
W zależności od kontekstu modelu organizacyjnego w grupach roboczych i perspektywy pracy dla zachowań odpowiedzialnych społecznie, opracowano i zbadano model sukcesu małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw, który wyjaśnia wybrane przesłanki prowadzące do sukcesu tych firm. Próba obejmowała 217 pracowników w małych i średnich przedsiębiorstwach w Iraku. Stwierdzono, że integracja kapitału intelektualnego i celowa rotacja młodszego personelu finansowego były związane z sukcesem małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw, ponadto istniał bezpośredni związek między rotacją personelu finansowego a integracją kapitału intelektualnego i sukcesem małych i średnich firm, a także pośredni związek z systemem zarządzania wiedzą przez system zarządzania wiedzą finansową w ramach grup roboczych.

The present study was aimed to identify the indigenous fungal strains which could possibly be applied to the bioremediation of heavy metal-contaminated soil. The contaminated soil samples of Korangi Industrial Estate Karachi were found to have total concentration of Cu 1.044 mgL1 , and Pb 0.631 mgL–1. A total of eight indigenous strains of the fungus were isolated and screened for bioremediation capacity from heavy metals-contaminated soil. For the bioremediation of Lead (Pb) these same indigenous eight fungal strains were used for biological remediation. All the fungal isolated with enhanced bioremediation capability were through phenotypic and genotypical characterization. The topology of the phylograms established that the fungal isolates used in this study were allocated to: K1 (Penicillium notatum), K2 (Aspergillus parasiticus), K3 (Aspergillus fumigatus), K4 (Aspergillus flavus), K5 (Aspergillus terries), K6 (Fusarium solani), K7 (Penicillium chrysogenum), K8 (Aspergillus niger), K9 (Penicillium piceum) and K10 (Penicillium restrictum). Thus, K8 fungal isolate was found to be more efficient with maximum bioremediation capacity, for copper and lead removal efficiency, and selected for FTIR and SEM to find out the uptake of Cu and Pb which of the functional groups are involved, and further to detect the effects of bioleaching of both heavy metals on to the surface of K8 fungus biomass. The current study indicates that indigenous fungal isolates could be used with high potency to remediate or clean up the heavy metals-contaminated soil either by the technique of in situ or ex-situ bioremediation.

In this work, nickel adsorption onto low Jordanian zeolite dose is being investigated. Natural zeolite doses were stirred continuously with nickel solutions in batch reactors at 180 RPM for 24 hours, where the temperature was set to 20°C. The pH was initially 4.5 and reached 5.2 at equilibrium. The removal efficiency of nickel reaches maximum value when the initial nickel concentration is around 1 ppm and then tends to decrease when the initial nickel concentration increases above 1 ppm. The optimal nickel removal reaches 65% when the initial nickel concentration is 1 ppm and the zeolite dose is 26 mg∙dm–3. This study investigates the behaviour of nickel removal and modelling isotherms below and above this critical peak point. At this level of zeolite dose, the adsorption does not follow either Freundlich or Langmuir isotherms, but rather, it follows Freundlich for the data plot just below the peak point with the highest coefficient of determination (R2) equals (0.98) when the zeolite dose is (26 mg∙dm–3), whereas it follows Langmuir for the data plot just above the peak point with the highest coefficient of determination (R2) equals (0.99) when the zeolite dose is (10 mg∙dm–3). These findings clarify the theory behind each isotherm and can be used to find new information for efficient treatment techniques.

The presence of organics materials in phosphate ores generates foam during the manufacture of phosphoric acid, thus affecting the production performance and the quality of the products. Today, in the phosphate industry defoamers are used to reduce the negative impact of foam phosphoric production. In the present work, we focused on root cause evaluation for foam generation during the phosphoric acid production process, we evaluated the effect of phosphate rock quality in terms of organic carbon (OC) and carbonate content, on foam generation using a laboratory protocol for foaming ability evaluation. The results show that there is a relationship between the volume of the foam generated and the values of those impurities, while the volume of foam generated is higher when the concentration of OC and Carbonate is high. In our work, we confirm that the foaming ability of the phosphate rock can be avoided if the concentration of organic carbon less than 0.1% and less than 3% for carbonate.

The goal of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) is to select the most appropriate of the alternatives by evaluating many conflicting criteria together. MCDM methods are widely available in the literature and have been used in various energy problems. The key problems studied in electrical power systems in recent years have included voltage instability and voltage collapse. Different flexible alternating current transmission systems (FACTS) equipment has been used for this purpose for decades, increasing voltage stability while enhancing system efficiency, reliability and quality of supply, and offering environmental benefits. Finding the best locations for these devices in terms of voltage stability in actual electrical networks poses a serious problem. Many criteria should be considered when determining the most suitable location for the controller. The aim of this paper is to provide a comparative analysis of MCDM techniques to be used for optimal location of a static VAR compensator (SVC) device in terms of voltage stability. The ideal location can be determined by means of sorting according to priority criteria. The proposed approach was carried out using the Power System Analysis Toolbox (PSAT) in MATLAB in the IEEE 14-bus test system. Using ten different MCDM methods, the most appropriate locations were compared among themselves and a single ranking list was obtained, integrated with the Borda count method, which is a data fusion technique. The application results showed that the methods used are consistent among themselves. It was revealed that the integrated model was an appropriate method that could be used for optimal location selection, providing reliable and satisfactory results to power system planners.

The aim of this study was to determine the influence of social media on students’ awareness of responsible behaviour during the COVID-19 pandemic. The field study was carried out with a sample of 726 students from Northern Border University. Data were collected from electronically retrieved questionnaires via various communication channels and analysed using hierarchical linear regression. The study found a relationship between the use of social media sites and awareness among students, affected by age differences. With the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, universities face the challenge of ensuring precautionary guidelines to prevent the virus are followed while educating their students, and social media plays a significant role in disseminating this information. Therefore, studying how social media helps develop students’ awareness can contribute to addressing some of the problems faced by decisionmakers in Saudi universities.

The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of place of living on psychological well-being of students studying in senior secondary schools and to test for interaction effects of place of living and academic achievement on psychological well-being. The analyzed data set contained information on 519 boys and girls in the 11t grade from the Kashmir valley of Jammu and Kashmir India. The study has a survey type design. Psychological well-being scale developed by Dr. Devendra Singh Sisodia and Ms. Pooja Choudhary (2012) has been used. The marks obtained in science by students served as the indicator of academic achievement. The statistical analysis was 2 ×3 (ANOVA) factorial designs. Results reveal a significant effect of the place of living on psychological well-being and show no significant interaction effect between the academic achievement levels (groups) in science and the place of living in terms of the psychological well-being of senior secondary students.

This study focuses on developing an automated application in the MATLAB® App Designer module, based on basic structural members and different theories for various loading cases, providing ballpark values of bending and torsional stiffness and sizing of the load-carrying structural member at a span wise location. All the code developed on MathWorks (2018) is automated using the App Designer module. In this approach, governing equations of structural members under different types of loading are solved in MATLAB IDE with the assumption that in the preliminary phase MATLAB App Designer provides an easy drag and drop type application developer that can be easily subsumed in any mathematical automation process.

In the present article, magneto-micropolar nanofluid flow with suction or injection in a porous medium over a stretching sheet for the heat and mass transfer is analyzed numerically. Both Hall and ion-slip effects are considered along with variable thermal diffusivity. The governing partial differential equations are transformed to ordinary differential equations using usual similarity transformations. These coupled non-linear differential equations are solved using the shooting method. Effects of prominent parameter on velocities, temperature and concentration are discussed graphically. Numerical values of skin-friction coefficient, local Nusselt number and local Sherwood number are also tabulated and discussed.

A series of Mn-doped CeO2-CuO catalyst (CeO2-MnOx-CuO) (Ce/Mn molar ratio of 0.5, 1.0 2.0 and 3.0) were prepared using co-precipitation method for the selective oxidation of CO in automobile engine exhaust. The content of copper was 5.0 wt. % in each sample. Catalysts were installed on the automobile engine exhaust and CO amount was recorded with help of CO sensor, with and without the catalyst. The catalytic converter efficiency was estimated for each catalyst through efficiency formula. It was observed that Ce/Mn catalyst with a molar ratio of 2.0 shows the maximum efficiency (88.35%). Stability of conversion process was analyzed by plotting the CO amount with respect to time. The catalyst with Ce/Mn molar ratio of 2.0 performed the most streamline conversion process with least deviations.

Opis:
Groundwater quality determination and age estimation in a desert landscape of El Golea province situated in the south of Algeria has been investigated in the present research paper. For this regard, 57 water samples were collected from an aquifer composed of two superimposed systems; phreatic and deep continental intercalary (CI) aquifers which are a part of the Northern Sahara Aquifer System (NWSAS). Samples were analyzed to assess the age and water quality using descriptive, multivariate statistics (PCA and HCA) and stable isotopes. It is revealed that more than 71% of the IC points are characterized by a water type (Ca2+, Mg2+) (HCO3 – )2 and more than 83% of the TC samples are defined by a water type (Ca2+, Na+) (HCO3 – , SO4 2 – ) and very high salt ions contents due to the influence of surface water, evaporate leaching and irrigation water return. The isotopic composition of samples of phreatic and CI aquifers shows a clear difference between the two qualities of water. The phreatic aquifer is characterized by the δ18O range from –4.68 to –6.1, whereas δ2H from –47.25 to –59.48 and CI with values of the δ18O range from –5.96 to –7.6, and δ2H range between –53.7 and –65.78 isotopic signature. The unconfined aquifer above IC forms a special case of a mixture of ancient water from deep horizons and recent water strongly enriched from shallow horizon lands.

This paper presents a novel fault detection algorithm for a three-phase interleaved DC–DC boost converter integrated in a photovoltaic system. Interleaved DC–DC converters have been used widely due to their advantages in terms of efficiency, ripple reductions, modularity and small filter components. The fault detection algorithm depends on the input current waveform as a fault indicator and does not require any additional sensors in the system. To guarantee service continuity, a fault tolerant topology is achieved by connecting a redundant switch to the interleaved converter. The proposed fault detection algorithm is validated under different scenarios by the obtained results.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the world according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Researchers are more interested in using machine learning techniques to help medical staff diagnose or detect heart disease early. In this paper, we propose an efficient medical decision support system based on twin support vector machines (Twin-SVM) for heart disease diagnosing with binary target (i.e. presence or absence of disease). Unlike conventional support vector machines (SVM) that finds only one optimal hyperplane for separating the data points of first class from those of second class, which causes inaccurate decision, Twin-SVM finds two non-parallel hyper-planes so that each one is closer to the first class and is as far from the second class as possible. Our experiments are conducted on real heart disease dataset and many evaluation metrics have been considered to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. Furthermore, a comparison between the proposed method and several well-known classifiers as well as the state-of-the-art methods has been performed. The obtained results proved that our proposed method based on Twin-SVM technique gives promising performances better than the state-of-the-art. This improvement can seriously reduce time, materials, and labor in healthcare services while increasing the final decision accuracy.
