Basing on the subject literature, the currently used selections of forms were presented, including the examples of them. The Author also presents the results of studies conducted on this field in selected libraries. The description of the forms also includes directions referring to them, which can be found in binding legal acts and documents, especially the ones issued by IFLA and UNESCO.

Opis:: The paper presents the results of research on children’s metaphorical predispositions, i.e. the ability to understand, recognize and create metaphors. The research was carried out among children aged 6–9 during reading workshops as part of the 5 Coupons of Culture of the Małopolska Region, acquired by the author. The material is an attempt to indicate the value of literary metaphors in the education, therapy and upbringing of children. The literary metaphors used during the research have created planes that enable individual reading of the meaning of the text. In understanding the meanings of metaphors, the context of their use also played an important role. “Load-bearing” provided the texts with simple and legible metaphors, while at the same time appealing to young audiences. Thanks to metaphors, the world created in reading became universal, but young readers related it to personal experiences, discovering the convergence between their own lives and the creation of a work. It is worthwhile extracting and using the didactic and therapeutic dimension of metaphors in working with children and treat it as an important factor supporting the teaching process.
Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań dziecięcych predyspozycji metaforyzacyjnych, czyli zdolności rozumienia, rozpoznawania i tworzenia metafor. Badania zostały przeprowadzone wśród dzieci w wieku 6–9 lat podczas realizacji warsztatów czytelniczych w ramach pozyskanych przez autorkę pięciu Bonów Kultury Województwa Małopolskiego. Materiał stanowi próbę wskazania wartości metafor literackich w edukacji, terapii i wychowaniu dzieci. Zastosowane podczas badań metafory literackie stworzyły warunki umożliwiające indywidualne odczytywanie sensu tekstu. W rozumieniu znaczeń metafor dużą rolę odegrał także kontekst ich użycia. „Nośność” zapewniły tekstom metafory proste i czytelne, a jednocześnie trafiające w zainteresowania młodych odbiorców. Dzięki metaforom świat wykreowany w lekturze stawał się uniwersalny, ale młodzi czytelnicy odnosili go do osobistych doświadczeń, odkrywali zbieżność między własnym życiem a kreacją utworu. Warto wydobywać i wykorzystywać w pracy z dziećmi dydaktyczny i terapeutyczny wymiar metafor, a także traktować go jako ważny czynnik wspomagający proces nauczania.

Opis:: The rapid but uneven development of electronic publications raises a research question about the pace of their future extension, which depends on the level of acceptance of potential readers. The theory of innovation indicates the existence of a threshold of critical mass of a new technology products acceptance at the level of 16% of the market. After it is exceeded, further dynamics of innovation growth is maintained spontaneously. On this basis, the paper’s author attempts to create the forecast for the development of a selected type of electronic publication – e-books based on the opinions of young readers (students). This context has resulted in a strong focus of research on the educational purposes of using the e-book. The TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) type tool was used to obtain information on the behavioral intentions of students towards using the e-book. The model assumes that the use of new technology can be explained or predicted by determining the user's motivation, which in turn is directly influenced by external stimuli resulting from the real features and capabilities of the technology. The factor of the e-book ease of use felt by the surveyed students was taken into account, which, as it turned out, has a significant impact on the attitude towards use, while having a strong impact on the perceived usefulness of the new technology.
Szybki, ale nierównomierny rozwój publikacji elektronicznych wywołuje pytanie badawcze o tempo ich przyszłego wzrostu, który zależy od poziomu akceptacji przez potencjalnych czytelników. Teoria innowacji wskazuje na istnienie progu masy krytycznej akceptacji produktów nowej technologii na poziomie 16% rynku. Po jego przekroczeniu dalsza dynamika wzrostu innowacji utrzymuje się samorzutnie. Na tej podstawie w referacie podjęto próbę tworzenia prognozy rozwoju wybranego rodzaju publikacji elektronicznej – książki elektronicznej w oparciu o opinie młodych czytelników (studentów). Ten kontekst spowodował silne ukierunkowanie badań na edukacyjne cele stosowania książki elektronicznej. Dla uzyskania informacji o intencji behawioralnej studentów w kierunku stosowania książki elektronicznej zastosowano narzędzie typu TAM (Technology Acceptance Model). W modelu przyjmuje się, że wykorzystanie nowej technologii może być wyjaśnione lub przewidywane przez określenie motywacji użytkownika, a ta z kolei jest pod bezpośrednim wpływem bodźców zewnętrznych, wynikających z rzeczywistych cech i możliwości technologii. Uwzględniony został czynnik odczuwanej przez badanych studentów łatwości użytkowania książki elektronicznej, który, jak się okazało, ma znaczący wpływ na postawę względem użytkowania, przy jednoczesnym silnym wpływie na postrzeganą użyteczność nowej technologii.

Opis:: The novel Wojciechowym szlakiem [On the Trail of St Adalbert] by Gertura Skotnicka stands out from other hagiographic works about this saint not only in terms of its size, but also as far as its composition and method of presenting this character are concerned. In contrast, the works by Ewa Skarżyńska and Andrzej Hartliński do not go beyond the established genre formula. Only Anna Czerwińska-Rydel uses an original idea, implementing in her story the motif of the Gniezno Doors. The content of each bas-relief scene visible on the door constitutes a separate chapter of the book. Skotnicka also refers to this motif by mentioning its artistic value in the account of a high school student and the narrator, and by using it as illustrative material for her book. The author plays with time to transfer the boy-hero into the 10th century, which allows her to slowly create a double portrait: conventional, i.e. of an idealised saint and martyr, and the other one – of an ordinary man. This way of portraying creates plenty of room for active participation of the reader, stimulating their imagination. The artistic consequence is a multi-layered narrative, the use of a story within a story, and a play with genre and stylistic conventions. The diversity of linguistic and stylistic forms seems to be motivated by the course of action, changing the setting and time, the situation in which the boy-hero takes part, and the presence of two world-views: Christian and pagan.

Opis:: W artykule omówione są wybrane strategie kreowania postaci historycznych w cyklu książek dla młodych czytelników „Zdarzyło się w Polsce” (wyd. Literatura). Analiza stosowanych przez autorów rozwiązań i środków językowo-stylistycznych pozwoliła zrekonstruować implikowane w tekście sposoby tworzenia i wartościowania postaci literackiej o rodowodzie historycznym. Przedmiotem ustaleń są też nawiązania do kontekstów kulturowych, które mogą kształtować funkcjonowanie tego typu książek i ich bohaterów w obiegu czytelniczym.
The paper focuses on and discusses some chosen strategies of creating historical heroes in the series of books for young readers: “It has happened in Poland” (published by Literatura). The analysis of the solutions, linguistic and stylistic means used by the authors will allow to reconstruct the methods of creating and evaluating a literary form with a historical origin implied in the text. The subject of the arrangements will also be references to contexts that may shape the functioning of this type of books and their heroes in the reading circulation.

Children's literature reflects society and conveys new models. This field evolves depending on the representations of childhood that adults build. Recent research shows that children experience deep emotions and that reading contributes to their social and affective development. This paper examines the different issues related to writing the affects aimed at young readers through the study of Astrid Lindgren's novel Les frères Coeur-de-Lion. It focuses on ethical, aesthetic and linguistic questions involved in translating the book from Swedish to French.
La littérature de jeunesse est à la fois reflet de la société et vecteur de nouveaux modèles. Elle évolue en fonction des représentations que les adultes ont de l'enfance. Les recherches récentes montrent que les enfants vivent de grandes expériences émotionnelles et que la lecture contribue à leur développement social et affectif. Cet article interroge les enjeux de l'écriture des affects à destination du jeune lectorat à travers l'étude du roman Les frères Coeur-de-Lion d'Astrid Lindgren. Il s'intéresse également aux problématiques éthiques, esthétiques et linguistiques liées à la traduction de l’œuvre du suédois au français.

Opis:: W artykule przybliżono postać Andre Norton – amerykańskiej bibliote-karki, pisarki oraz popularyzatorki literatury fantastyczno-naukowej i fantasy, szcze-gólnie wśród młodych odbiorców. Przedstawiono zarys biografii, pracę i działalność biblioteczną A. Norton. Analizie poddano jej twórczość, ze szczególnym uwzględnie-niem serii „Świat Czarownic” (ang. „Witch World”). Podjęto próbę wyjaśnienia feno-menu popularności książek fantasy tejże autorki i jej roli w kreowaniu pozytywnych postaw i wzorców u odbiorców. W pracy opisano również High Hallack – specjali-styczną bibliotekę dla pisarzy i miłośników literatury fantastycznej, którą stworzyła.
The article presents the figure of Andre Norton – an American librarian, writer and promoter of science fiction and fantasy, particularly among the younger readers. The article discusses her biography, her creative work as well as her work as a librarian. To that end, the author analyzes her works of fiction, in particular her Witch World series, attempting to explain their popularity and Norton’s role in creat-ing positive attitudes and values among her readers. Moreover, the article discusses also High Hallack, a specialized library created by Norton for the writers and readers of science fiction and fantasy.

Opis:: Emotions have become an increasingly valuable element of reading studies, literary theory and empirical research on reader response. Here, I discuss some new issues in the field of affective studies on literary reading. This article is an overview of some main consequences of digital revolution (e.g. redefinition of reading, reading habits, and reading experiential values). These cultural changes challenge the classroom teaching of literature. I suggest, that the new media and technologies have a deep impact on the traditionally conceptualized ideas of “reader response”, “emotional involvement”, since they activate new forms of reading experiences and new modes for expressing them. The socially-based and interactive environment has been transforming the ways people (young readers) engage in reading texts and this seems to be a newly emerging object of research for the empirical literary studies on reader response.

Opis:: In recent years, we have been able to observe a stronger trend to explore the educational reality by way of scientific research. This results from the pressure on quantitative indicators and evidence-based arguments. International surveys focus mainly on educational effects and provide more or less accurate rankings of educational systems and the degree of learners’ success, school and national rates. In addition to these trends, however, it is also necessary to focus one’s research on the real world of children and young learners in a holistic concept. Qualitative research strategies prefer more phenomenological and personalistic approaches based on exploratory and investigative scientific methods. Such approaches have been applied by the authors in previous studies: they have published several studies and two monographs dedicated to children who are about to begin their education and their understanding of the world. This research was supported by the VEGA 1/0598/15 “The Child at the Threshold of Education and its World” project. In this paper, the authors will present brief findings from these studies. The basic source was authentic children’s testimonies to the significant phenomena of their world and childhood. Building on these findings, we are currently focusing our research on the formation and development of the children’s readability (supported by the VEGA 1/0455/18 “Research and Development of Readability with Younger School-Age Learners” project1). There are convincing claims that this phenomenon is the most important determinant of success in education and the development of creativity and critical thinking.

Opis:: Ewa Nowacka occupies an important place among the contemporary Polish writers and her prose works for young recipients, extensive as far as various subjects and genres are concerned, contain many inventive, unique concepts and writing ideas. Nowacka is, first of all, the author of novels of manners and historical ones, in which the writer presents her imagination, her aspiration for the reconstruction of life of manners, cultural life, concern for noticing concrete things, details, which are the background of experience of a young character who struggles with eternal, archetypical problems, the universalism and psychologism of which is the strong point of the author’s writing. The recipient of Ewa Nowacka’s works notices that characters create their destiny through ordinary struggle, that it is necessary to mythologize the existence in order to understand the world.
