Opis:
The main point of view demonstrated in the present paper is to express criticism to those program of foreign language studies which still rely on the traditional approach to language education and favor the development of linguistic competence in students. Harmonious functioning of the contemporary world depends, to much extent, on human coexistence and communication both on the micro and macro scale. In the case of the macro scale contacts, the English language has been sanctioned an international means of communication. The examination of the Internet resources with reference to higher education language programs of studies as well as programs oered by some language schools, shows that the teaching/learning process is mainly concentrated on developing students' linguistic competence. The Polish reality of practical English application in a variety of situations shows that the language user's knowledge, when limited to the linguistic sphere only, is not sucient. Therefore, the aim of the present paper is to turn the reader's attention to the need of verication of educational policy, adopted by many higher education institutions, and expand the oered programs of studies by courses directing the teaching/learning process at the functional approach. Hence, the suggested in the present discussion approach would rely on giving priority to the development of communicative competence, instead of linguistic.

The article presents a new modification of the the least squares Prony method. The so-called variable-frequency Prony method can be a useful tool for estimating parameters of sinusoidal components, which, in the analyzed signal, are characterized by time-dependent frequencies. The authors propose use of the presented method for testing the quality of electric energy. It allows observation of phenomena which, when using traditional methods, are averaged in the analysis window. The proposed modification of least squares Prony method is based on introduction and specific selection of a frequency matrix. This matrix represents frequencies of estimated components and their variability in time.

In the paper the influence function and the method of partial discretization in free axisymmetric vibration analysis of multilayered circular plates of constant and linearly variable thickness were presented. The effects of shear deformation and rotary inertia for the core as well as the facings were neglected. An analytical investigation based on the classical plate theory was made for the multilayered plate which satisfies Sokołowski’s condition. Discretization of mass and replacing stiffness of a fixed circular plate were presented. Formulas of influence matrix and Bernstein-Kieropian’s estimators for different steps of discretization were defined. The influence of variable distribution of parameters on the value of double estimators of natural basic and higher frequency of a sandwich circular plate was investigated.

Opis:
Free vibration analysis of homogeneous and isotropic circular thin plates with variable distribution of parameters by using Green’s functions (solution to homogeneous ordinary differential equations with variable coefficients) is considered. The formula of Green’s function (called the influence function) depends on the Poisson ratio and the coefficient of distribution of plate flexural rigidity, and the thickness is obtained in a closed-form. The limited independent solutions to differential Euler equations are expanded in the Neumann power series using the Volterra integral equations of the second kind. This approach allows one to obtain the analytical frequency equations as the power series rapidly convergens to exact eigenvalues for different values of the power index and different values of the Poisson ratio. The six lower natural dimensionless frequencies of axisymmetric vibration of circular plates of constant and variable thickness are calculated for different boundary conditions. The obtained results are compared with selected results presented in the literature.

The idea for recording of time variable signals y(t) with simultaneous recording of signal prediction y(t+tp) for certain from 0≤tp≤tp max as been considered in the paper. The errors and ranges of tp max for several ideas of prediction procedures have been discussed.

Przedmiotowe opracowanie stanowi pierwszy w nauce polskiej zarys badawczy dotyczący stosowania narzędzi matematycznych w prawie pracy. Wskazuje, że matematyczne narzędzia w prawie pracy mają przedmiotowo różny charakter i w efekcie końcowym także różny wymiar (znaczenie). Są to między innymi takie narzędzia matematyczne, jak: zmienna i stała, algorytmy, teoria gier, prawdopodobieństwo, funkcja itp. Unaocznia zatem, że prawo pracy jest silnie zakotwiczone w matematyce, gdyż bez matematycznych narzędzi nie można w pełni, kompleksowo, holistycznie chronić osoby pozostające w stosunku pracy.
This study is the first research outline in Polish science on the application of mathematical tools in labour law. It shows that mathematical tools in labour law have an objectively different nature and, as a result, also a different dimension (meaning). These include such mathematical tools as: variable and constant, algorithms, game theory, probability, function, etc. It thus makes evident that labour law is strongly anchored in mathematics, as – without mathematical tools – it is not possible to fully, comprehensively, holistically protect people in an employment relationship.

W artykule przedstawiono koncepcję metody uzyskiwania sprężania wewnętrznego w sprężarce budowanej na bazie maszyny wyporowej z zespołem czterech współbieżnych rotorów śrubowych. Wcześniejsze prototypowe rozwiązanie konstrukcyjne tego typu sprężarki, przebadane laboratoryjnie, umożliwiało jedynie sprężanie zewnętrzne. W artykule objaśniono istotę nowego rozwiązania, wskazano na technologiczne ograniczenia jego realizacji.
The article introduces the method of obtaining internal compression in compressors built on the basis of the displacement machine with a team of four synchronous helical rotors. Previous prototypal construction of this type of compressor, examined in research laboratory, permitted only external compression. In the article the essence of the new method is explained and technological restrictions of its realization are indicated.

The paper tackles the problems connected with the charge exchange in internal combustion engines. The theoretical analysis of the charge exchange process in the SI engine has been presented. A system with independent, early exhaust valve closing has been analysed. The analysed system enables realization of an internal EGR and elimination of a throttling valve from an inlet system and reduce the charge exchange work, especially within the range of partial load. The decrease of the charge exchange work leads to an increase of the internal and effective works, which results in an increase of the effective efficiency of the spark ignition engine. The open, theoretical cycle has been assumed as a model of processes proceeding in an engine. The system has been analysed individually and comparatively with open Seiliger-Sabathe cycle. Benefits resulting from application of the system with early exhaust valve closing have been assessed on the basis of the selected parameters: a fuel dose, a cycle work, a relative charge exchange work and a cycle efficiency. The best results within decrease of fuel consumption and increase of cycle efficiency are obtained for low engine load. The main parameters characterizing the process of the internal exhaust gas recirculation were also determined. These are the ratio and the multiplicity of the exhaust gas recirculation.

The theoretical analysis of the SI engine load adjustment has been presented. The load especially in SI engine is highly dependent on the process of charge exchange. This process has significant impact on the effectiveness of an engine work because it is connected with the necessity of overcoming the flow resistance, then with the necessity of doing a work, so-called the charge exchange work. The flow resistance caused by throttling valve is especially high during part load operation. The open theoretical cycle has been assumed as a model of processes proceeding in the engine. Using fully variable inlet and exhaust valves timing the cycle can be realized e.g. according to two systems: system with early inlet valve closing (EIVC) and system with early exhaust valve closing (EEVC). Both systems have been analysed individually and comparatively with the open Seiliger-Sabathe cycle, which is theoretical cycle for the classical throttle governing of an engine load. Benefits resulting from application of the systems with independent inlet and exhaust valves control have been assessed on the basis of the selected parameters: a fuel dose, a cycle work, a charge exchange work and a cycle efficiency. The use of the analysed systems to governing of the SI engine load will enable to eliminate a throttling valve from inlet system and reduce the charge exchange work, especially within the range of part load operation. Decrease of the charge exchange work leads to increase of the internal and effective works, which results in increase of the effective efficiency of the spark ignition engine. Additionally, the EEVC enables realization of the internal EGR.

This process has significant impact on the effectiveness of engine operation because it is related to the necessity of overcoming the flow resistance, followed by the necessity of doing a work, so-called the charge exchange work. The flow resistance caused by the throttling valve is especially high during the part load operation. The open Atkinson-Miller cycle has been assumed as a model of processes taking place in the engine. Using fully variable inlet valve timing the A-M cycle can be realized according to two systems: system with late inlet valve closing and system with early inlet valve closing. The systems have been analysed individually and comparatively with the open Seiliger-Sabathe cycle which is a theoretical cycle for the classical throttle governing of the engine load. Benefits resulting from application of the systems with independent inlet valve control have been assessed on the basis of the selected parameters: fuel dose, cycle work, charge exchange work and a cycle efficiency. The use of the analysed systems to governing of the SI engine load will enable to eliminate a throttling valve from the system inlet and reduce the charge exchange work, especially within the range of part load operation.

The open, theoretical cycle has been assumed as a model of processes proceeding in the engine with variable inlet valve actuation.
