Opis:
The behavior of vortex pinning induced by the magnetic domain reversal is studied in the ferromagnet/superconductor bilayers in which superconducting film is niobium and the ferromagnetic layers are the Co/Pt superlattices with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. The local magnetic field across narrow ferromagnet/superconductor bilayer stripe is measured using a line of miniature Hall sensors. The pinning is studied for samples with different amount of repeats of Co/Pt superlattice, and as a function of temperature.

We present the results of the impedance measurements in Nb$\text{}_{3}$Al superconducting polycrystalline alloy vs. temperature and magnetic field. Using these results and applying the size effect model we calculate the flux-flow conductivity of the Nb$\text{}_{3}$Al superconducting alloy near its critical temperature.

Opis:
The effect of square wave current was investigated by the voltage-time (V-t curves) measurements at various external magnetic fields and periods (P) in silver doped YBCO. The general sinusoidal behavior of V-t curves was mainly interpreted as a dynamic competition between driving and pinning forces. It is observed that as the period of square wave current is increased, the amplitude of oscillation is also increased. The observed oscillations in the voltage was fitted by an common sinusoidal equation V(t)ımın(ω t+φ). It is also found that there is different phase angle φ values for each cycle. Fast Fourier transform measurements is applied to oscillation period (P_{I}) of the square wave current. The results give us that a physical mechanism is related with charge density waves. Intrinsically, in Ag doped YBCO, the pinned flux line system evokes the general behavior of charge density waves. Due to properties of the converting the square wave current to sinusoidal voltage oscillations, Ag doped YBCO sample can behave as double-integrator for the defined period, amplitude of square wave current and magnetic field values in time.

κ-(BEDT-TTF)$\text{}_{2}$I$\text{}_{3}$ is an electronically extreme two-dimensional organic metal with a superconducting transition at around 4 K. In magnetic fields above 12 T the effective mass, as obtained from the temperature dependence of the amplitudes of Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations, is magnetic field dependent as long as the magnetic field is arranged perpendicular to the conducting planes. In contrast to this, by turning the magnetic field by 27° or even only 9° the observed effective mass (as obtained from Shubnikov-de Haas and de Haas-van Alphen measurements) is field independent. We suppose that the occurrence of anyons at temperatures below 1 K in fields above 12 T is the reason for the observed field dependence of the effective mass.

Investigations on the design and engineering of candidate substrate materials suitable for high T$\text{}_{c}$ superconductor thin film deposition and applications have yielded several exciting new hosts such as Ba(Mg$\text{}_{1}\text{}_{/}\text{}_{3}$ Ta$\text{}_{2}\text{}_{/}\text{}_{3}$ )O$\text{}_{3}$, Sr(Al$\text{}_{1}\text{}_{/}\text{}_{2}$ Ta$\text{}_{1}\text{}_{/}\text{}_{2}$ )O$\text{}_{3}$, and Sr(Αl$\text{}_{1}\text{}_{/}\text{}_{2}$ Νb$\text{}_{1}\text{}_{/}\text{}_{2}$ )O$\text{}_{3}$. Dielectric properties, thermal expansion coefficients, melting temperatures and growth feasibility were tested for a wide range of substrate materials and solid solutions. These complex perovskite crystals and their associated solid solutions provide new options for ultra low loss, low permittivity substrates with close structural and thermal matching to the YΒa$\text{}_{2}$Cu$\text{}_{3}$O$\text{}_{7-δ}$. Several new materials have been tested for high Τ$\text{}_{c}$ superconductor film depositions. Α laser heated pedestal growth system has been used as an essential tool in producing single crystals for testing. Development on the predictive capability of the dielectric constant of ionic solids, by improving Shannon's approach, will also be discussed in this paper.

We report muon spin rotation studies of the magnetic field distribution n(B) in the vortex state of the high-temperature superconductor Bi$\text{}_{2}$Sr$\text{}_{2}$CaCu$\text{}_{2}$O$\text{}_{8+δ}$. From our data on three sets of overdoped, nearly optimized and underdoped single crystals we obtain evidence for a two-stage melting process of the vortex matter under equilibrium conditions. In the irreversible regime well below the irreversibility line we observe a transition in the vortex state which we associate with an intra-planar melting transition. The resulting flux-line liquid phase persists over a sizeable temperature interval before the inter-planar decoupling of the individual vortex lines takes place in a second step at the irreversibility line, resulting in a pancake liquid phase.

We study the model of a d-wave superconductor interacting with finite concentration of the Anderson impurities at zero temperature. The interaction between impurity and conduction electrons is taken into account within the large-N approximation. We discuss the obtained phase diagram and its dependence on the main energy scales.

We study the evolution from BCS to Bose limit in a two-dimensional d-wave superconductor at zero temperature and low density of charge carriers within the mean-field theory. We examine single quasiparticle properties when particle density and attraction strength are varied. For sufficiently high interaction strength there is a critical density below which the system has a gap. The spectral and thermodynamic properties of the system do not evolve smoothly from the BCS-like to the Bose-like regime.

In recent years, two-dimensional (2D) nanostructured materials, such as nanoplates and nanosheets, have attracted much attention because of their unique electronic, magnetic, optical, and catalytic properties, which mainly arise from their large surface areas, nearly perfect crystallinity, structural anisotropy, and quantum confinement effects in the thickness. The 2D nanostructured materials can be used as building blocks for advanced materials and devices with designed functions in areas as diverse, as lasers, transistors, catalysis, solar cells, light emission diodes, chemical and biological sensors. We report physical properties of YBCO/BiOI contact structures and electrophysical properties of BiOI single crystal.

The local flux profile and the critical current are studied using an array of Hall sensors in a ferromagnetic-superconducting bilayer which consists of niobium film covering ferromagnetic Co/Pt multilayer with perpendicular magnetic anisotropy. The results indicate about threefold enhancement of the flux pinning in niobium layer caused by the isolated magnetic domains which are created during the magnetization reversal of the Co/Pt multilayer. The geometrical barrier is absent, and the critical current is strongly peaked in close vicinity to the sample center, suggesting that the critical state differs from that predicted by the Bean model.

We theoretically study the infrared reflectivity and transmissivity of a high-temperature layered superconductor slab. Both infrared spectra exhibit very narrow Fabry-Perot resonances associated with the quantization of the wave vector of the TM electromagnetic modes. The resonances are observed in a pass band where the refractive index of the layered superconductor is negative. The pass band of negative dispersion is above the Josephson plasma frequency which appears in the expression for the effective permittivity component, corresponding to the direction perpendicular to the layers. It was found that the Fabry-Perot resonances undergo a blue shift as the slab thickness or the angle of incidence are increased. Moreover, the quantized electromagnetic modes turn out to be quasi-longitudinal because of the strong anisotropy of the infrared dielectric response of the layered superconductor.

This work reports longitudinal $(R_{XX})$ and transverse $(R_{XY})$ resistance as a function of temperature measured at low magnetic fields for $Y_{0.55}Pr_{0.45}Ba_2Cu_3O_{7-δ}$ polycrystalline sample. It is observed non-zero transverse resistance at zero applied magnetic field below superconducting transition. The comparison between $R_{XX} (T)$ and $R_{XY} (T)$ curves demonstrate unambiguously that the transverse resistance is related to the double resistive superconducting transition in granular superconductors. I-V curves indicate that the transport properties of the investigated sample are in agreement with the predictions of the two-fluid model.

A metallic film bolometer with heat capacity C is in contact with thermal bath and with crystalline specimen and is biased by a constant current I$\text{}_{b}$. The thermal contact of the bolometer is characterized by the thermal conductance G. The bolometer operates in the linear regime of dependence of resistance on temperature characterized by a constantα. Experiments which allow one to measureα, C, and G are proposed. The characteristic timeτ=C/G and characteristic current I$\text{}_{m}=\sqrt{\text{G/α}}$ affect the effective relaxation rateΛ of the bolometer resistance R$\text{}_{b}$(t). The knowledge of the power W(t) absorbed by detector allows one to calculate R$\text{}_{b}$(t). The inverse problem of calculation of W(t) from known R$\text{}_{b}$(t) is also solved. The suitable algorithms are proposed. Deconvoluted absorbed power is obtained for experiments performed on GaAs and compared with phonoconductivity signal of two-dimensional electron gas structure as well as with results of Monte Carlo computer experiments.

Opis:
The point-contact Andreev-reflection measurements on the new paramagnetic superconductor $Mo_3Sb_7$ were carried out. It was found that the order parameter ∆ is strongly anisotropic varying over a very wide range depending on the contact orientation when the maximum $∆_\text{max}$ exceeds at least 40 times the minimum $∆_\text{min}$ in spite of the invariable $T_c$ that cannot be typical of conventional superconductors. For these and other reasons we suggest that $Mo_3Sb_7$ is not a trivial BCS (s-wave) superconductor but rather has some unconventional pairing symmetry.

We explore the Andreev tunnelling through the strongly correlated quantum dot embedded between the normal and superconducting electrodes. For a small external voltage |eV| <$∆_s$ the electron arriving from the normal lead can be converted into a pair on the quantum dot and further propagates in the superconducting lead while simultaneously the hole is reflected back to the normal electrode. Conductance of such anomalous current is very sensitive to the particle-hole mixing of the quantum dot spectrum. We analyze the influence of the proximity effect and the Coulomb interactions on the differential Andreev conductance focusing on the extreme limit $∆_s$ → ∞.
