Opis:: The paper tackles the problem of trivialization in a screen adaptation, taking as an example Nikolai Leskov’s sketch ‘The Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk’ and Roman Balayan’s 1989 film based on it. The author focuses on biblical contexts and contrasts the tone of the ending in the text with that on screen: while the literary Katerina remains unable to repent and ready to murder, the scenery toward the end of the film is surprisingly serene. In particular, the director’s treatment of the motif of ringing bells (symbolizing man’s separation from God) reveals an ideological difference between Balayan and Leskov. The author finds Balayan’s version more of a love drama than a tragedy of the death of a human soul. The film, she claims, even if not essentially distorting the meaning of the sketch, downplays and impoverishes Leskov’s semantic palette and simplifies the complex character created by the writer.

Opis:: At the beginning of the XX century surrealists rebelled against traditional culture and expressed their lack of faith in rational world perception. Instead, the artists and poets drew attention to imagination and focused on the study of the unconscious and irrational. They attributed great importance to the image which became the core of their aesthetics and was assigned the role of a vehicle for bringing forth into the conscious mind the creative forces of the unconscious. Surrealist imagery is verbalized through the cult of metaphor, synesthesia, arbitrary and spontaneous combination of words. In our work we consider approaches to the concept of the surreal image and explore linguistic peculiarities of N. Zabolotsky poetry. Nikolay Zabolotsky is a Russian poet of the literary and artistic avant-garde group OBERIU whose early poetic experiments (published in the book of poetry Stolbtsy in 1929) bear certain resemblance to the poetry of French surrealists. Though he mostly describes everyday life, routine surroundings typical for his time/ place, he does this with irony and love. The irrational world of N. Zabolotsky is created through illogical combination of words, absurd imagery, personification, metaphors.

Opis:: Статья отражает опыт применения оригинального программного комплекса «Гипертекстовый поиск слов-спутников в авторских текстах», который позволяет обнаружить повторяющиеся лексические комбинации в творчестве того или иного автора («корпусное» направление исследований) или в тематически заданном определенной ключевой лексемой корпусе стихотворений разных авторов вплоть до всей русской поэзии («тематическое» направление исследований). В выявленных лексических комбинациях выделяется общий лексический ряд, обусловленный общностью объективного жизненного или языкового материала, общими особенностями человеческого восприятия, распространенными ассоциациями. Так создается лейтмотивная лексическая среда. Это доминантные компоненты лексических комбинаций. За пределами этого лейтмотивного ряда остаются вариации – лексемы, которые изредка добавляются к лейтмотивному ядру в конкретных текстах и тем самым индивидуализируют эти тексты. Это факультативные компоненты комбинаций. Выявление доминантных и факультативных компонентов лексических комбинаций эффективно для сравнения разных авторов и установления общего и отличного в их поэтических интерпретациях одной и той же темы.
The article reflects the experience of using the original software system “Hypertext Search for Companion-Words in Author’s Texts”, which allows one to find recurrent lexical combinations in the work of an author (the “corpus” direction of research) or in a thematically (by key lexical items) defined corpus of poems by various authors, right up to all Russian poetry (a “thematic” line of research). In the identified lexical combinations, a common lexical set is distinguished, due to the commonality of actual life or of language material, to common features of human perception, or to widespread associations. In this way a leitmotiv-based lexical environment emerges. It contains the dominant components of lexical combinations. Outside the leitmotiv set remain variations – lexemes that are occasionally added to the leitmotiv core in specific texts and thereby individualize those texts. These are optional components of combinations. Identifying the dominant and the optional components of lexical combinations is effective for comparing different authors and for establishing what they have in common and where they differ in their poetic interpretations of the same topic.

Opis:: Публикация содержит изложение методики и результатов эмпирического исследования связи рефлексивности и гибкости поведения учителей средней школы. Цель исследования – описание и объяснение характера и механизмов связи рефлексив-ности и гибкости поведения. Использованы: методика определения уровня рефлексив-ности (А.В. Карпов, В.В. Понаморева, 2000), шкала «гибкость поведения» самоактуали-зационного теста (САТ) – модификация Е.Ю. Алешиной, Л.Я. Гозмана, М.В. Загика и М.В., кроcc-опросника личностных ориентацией Э. Шострома (Personal Orientation Inventory – POI 1987). Определена и обоснована выборка. Полученные эмпирические данные обработаны с помощью компьютерной программы SPSS 17. Произведен анализ и интерпретация полученных результатов. Установлена связь рефлексивности и гибко-сти поведения. В исследовании приняли участие 80 школьных учителей: группа 30-40 лет (40 человек; медиана возраста 37 лет) и группа – 50-60 лет, (40 человек; медиана возраста 56 лет).
The publication content includes the description of methodology and results for empirical research of relationship between secondary school teachers reflexivity and flexibil-ity of behavior. The objective of the research is to describe and to explain the relationship character and mechanisms between reflexivity and flexibility of behavior. The materials used: reflectivity level determination method (А.В. Карпов, В.В. Понаморева, 2000); and the scale «flexibility of behavior» from the self-actualization test (САТ) (Personal Orientation Invento-ry – POI; 1987, E. Shostrom, modified by E. Alyoshina, L. Gozman, M. Zagik, M. Kroz). The selection was defined and reasoned. The achieved empirical data was processed with SPSS 17 software. The results were analyzed and interpreted. Relationship between reflexivity and flexibility of behavior was stated. 80 school teachers were recruited for this research: a group of 30-40-year old people (40 people; age median 37 years) and a group of 50-60-year old people, (40 people; age median 56 years).

Comparative analysis of novels Field Work in Ukrainian Sex by Oxana Zabuzhkoand Runners by Olga Tokarchuk is within the scope of the reseacher’s interest in the article. The theme of a journey is in the centre of study; interpreted in the categories of existential search and revealed through the concepts of language, history, motherland, nation, family and home. The conclusion is related to the similarity of using of the image of a journey as a pattern of selfidentification in contemporary Ukrainian and Polish literature.

Opis:: У статті досліджується проблема участі воїнів з Богемії у подіях Ґрюнвальдської битви як на боці польсько-литовських сил, так і на боці Тевтонського ордену. Окреслено стан дослідження теми, її місце у вивченні Ґрюнвальду. Наголошено на актуальності вивчення чеської військової складової у військах обох сторін з огляду на потребу подальшого розвінчання міфу про німецьку небезпеку та панславістський союз. Автором проаналізовано, у складі яких хоругв – польсько-литовських та орденських – воювали чеські найманці та названо імена відомих із джерел їхніх очільників. Проаналізовано «чеські» епізоди у творі Яна Длуґоша, відзначено, що версія участі найманців з Богемії у битві відображає негативне ставлення польського хроніста до Чехії. Піднято питання участі у подіях війни з Орденом майбутнього провідника гуситів Яна Жижки, відстоюється думка, що він воював у лавах польсько-литовського війська. Звернено увагу на причетність до Ґрюнвальдської битви литовсько-руського князя Зиґмунда Корибутовича, а також на його подальшу роль у чесько-руських відносинах у вирі гуситських подій. Наголошується, що Ґрюнвальдська битва була вирішальною подією, яка вплинула на поступовий відхід Богемії від союзу з Орденом, принаймні, для тих її сил, які згодом брали участь у гуситських подіях та налагоджували контакт із Владиславом ІІ Ягайлом та Вітовтом. Згадується епізод листування Яна Гуса з польським королем у контексті того, як польська пропаганда витворювала міф власної миротворчої перемоги одразу після війни. Автор дійшов висновку, що події Ґрюнвальдської битви частково визначили для Богемії її подальшу геополітичну взаємодію у Центрально-Східній Європі та сприяли відновленню комунікації із Литвою, Польщею та Руссю. Водночас, наголошено, що Ґрюнвальд не став остаточним розривом відносин із Орденом, із яким у Богемії, як і в королівства Русі, впродовж минулих століть були доволі міцні зв’язки.
The article examines the problem of the participation of soldiers from Bohemia in the events of the Battle of Grunwald, both on the side of the Polish-Lithuanian forces and on the side of the Teutonic Order. The state of research of the topic, its place in the study of Grunwald is outlined. The urgency of studying the Czech military component in the armies of both sides was emphasized, given the need to further debunk the myth of the German danger and the pan-Slavic alliance. The author analyzes which Polish-Lithuanian and Order banners fought Czech mercenaries and names the names of their leaders known from sources. The “Czech” episodes in the work of Jan Dlugosz are analyzed, it is noted that the version of the participation of mercenaries from Bohemia in the battle reflects the negative attitude of the Polish chronicler to the Czech Republic. The issue of participation in the events of the war with the Order of the future leader of the Hussites Jan Žižka was raised, the opinion is defended that he fought in the ranks of the Polish-Lithuanian army. Attention is drawn to the involvement of Lithuanian-Rus’ Prince Zygmunt Korybutovych in the Battle of Grunwald, as well as to his further role in Czech-Rus’ relations in the wake of Hussite events. It is noted that the Battle of Grunwald was a decisive event that influenced the gradual withdrawal of Bohemia from the alliance with the Order, at least for those of its forces who later participated in the Hussite events and established contact with Wladyslaw II Jagiello and Vytautas. An episode of Jan Hus's correspondence with the Polish king is mentioned in the context of how Polish propaganda created the myth of its own peace victory immediately after the war. The author concludes that the events of the Battle of Grunwald partly determined for Bohemia its further geopolitical cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe and contributed to the restoration of communication with Lithuania, Poland and Rus’. At the same time, it was emphasized that Grunwald did not become the final severance of relations with the Order, with which Bohemia, like the Kingdom of Rus’, had had strong ties for centuries.

Opis:: The author outlines the main challenges and problems faced by modern secondary education system in Ukraine: transfer of philosophy and school education formula from industrial to information age; discrepancy of competence approach in learning and knowledge (factual) approach in assessment its outcomes in the form of external independent test; lack of efficient procedures and mechanisms for individualization of educational trajectory of students with special educational needs, stigmatization of students who cannot master program material in the allotted study time. The author analyzes the results of the external independent test for 2019–2021 in terms of pedagogical and economic efficiency of Ukrainian schools. In particular, the dynamics of the number of school leavers who did not get the minimum threshold score in the main academic subjects, and the estimated cost of their tuition are considered. Special attention is paid to the discussion on the effectiveness of classroom system, it’s capacity to take into account students’ individual pace of learning and educational needs. The author suggests reconsidering the concepts of formation of secondary education institutions, in particular, through use of a matrix of components of a new modern school formula, consisting of the following components: academic autonomy, period of study, curriculum, organizational system, concept of the educational institution. The author predicts that private schools can become the driving force for resetting secondary education in Ukraine, since they are currently employing best teachers and, having wider academic autonomy, develop more efficient teaching methods and tools, that can be shared with public schools.
У статті автор виокремлює основні виклики та проблеми функціонування інституту сучасної середньої освіти в Україні: трансфер філософії та формули шкільного навчання індустріальної доби в добу інформаційну; неузгодженість компетентнісного підходу у процесі навчання та знаннєвого (фактологічного) під час перевірки його результатів у вигляді ЗНО; відсутність дієвих процедур та механізмів індивідуалізації освітньої траєкторії учнів з особливими освітніми потребами, стигматизацію школярів, що не можуть опанувати програмовий матеріал у відведений навчальний час. Автор аналізує результати ЗНО за 2019–2021 роки у розрізі педагогічної та економічної ефективності роботи українських шкіл. Зокрема, розглядається динаміка кількості осіб, що за результатами складання тесту не набрали мінімального порогового балу з основних предметів, та розрахункова вартість їх підготовки. Особливій увазі присвячується дискусія щодо ефективності класно-урочної системи навчання, можливості у її межах враховувати індивідуальний темп навчання учнів та освітніх потреб. Автор пропонує переглянути формування концепцій інституцій середньої освіти, зокрема, через використання матриці складників нової формули сучасної школи, змістовими блоками якої пропонується визначити наступні: академічна автономія, тривалість навчання, робочий навчальний план, система організації навчання, освітня концепція закладу. Автор прогнозує, що драйвером перезавантаження інституту середньої освіти в Україні можуть стати приватні школи, які сьогодні акумулюють у своїх рядах кращих педагогів та розробляють завдяки ширшій академічній автономії більш дієві методики та інструменти навчання школярів, які можуть бути поширені й у державних закладах освіти.

Opis:: Podjęcie studiów na wyższej uczelni jest prawdziwym wyzwaniem, z którym jednostki radzą sobie z większym lub mniejszym powodzeniem. Pomimo wysokiego poziomu stresu u studentów z Izraela, USA, a także kilku krajów UE, oraz w wielu przypadkach alarmującej liczby osób przedwcześnie rezygnujących z nauki, uniwersytety i college’a opierają się na arytmetycznej średniej ocen w szkołach średnich, a czasem na ogólnym teście zdolności umysłowych (np. test SAT, egzaminy psychometryczne) w celu oceny adekwatności kandydatów do programu oferowanych przez nie studiów. Takie podejście pomija jednak osobiste i interpersonalne czynniki, które mogą ułatwiać lub hamować rozwój jednostek zarówno jako przyszłych naukowców, jak i specjalistów w wielu dziedzinach, szczególnie w przypadku programów opiekuńczych (np. psychologia, edukacja, praca socjalna). Istotną rolę odgrywa niedawno wprowadzona koncepcja inteligencji emocjonalnej, bowiem wyznacza ona ramy dla naszego zrozumienia pozapoznawczego potencjału jednostki w zakresie adaptacji i skutecznego działania. Analiza ta bada zdolności poznawcze wraz z inteligencją emocjonalną, jako dwa skuteczne kryteria wyboru stosowane w szkolnictwie wyższym. Badana grupa 126 studentów z Izraela udostępniła wyniki licealnego egzaminu psychometrycznego oraz arytmetyczną średnią ocen z college'u i wypełniła dwa wskaźniki inteligencji emocjonalnej, czyli własną ocenę i formułę testu zdolności. Wyniki pokazały, że egzamin psychometryczny i wskaźniki inteligencji emocjonalnej były w znacznym stopniu związane z arytmetyczną średnią ocen w college’u, podczas gdy stopnie inteligencji emocjonalnej w przypadku szkół średnich i własnej oceny nie wykazywały takiego związku. Wyniki zostały pokrótce omówione w celu wyciągnięcia wstępnych wniosków i ukierunkowania na dalsze badania w tym zakresie.
Academic studies are a demanding challenge, and individuals cope with it with varying levels of success. Despite the evidence of high levels of stress among college students in Israel, the US as well as a few EU countries, and in many cases alarming rates of dropout, universities and colleges rely on high school GPA and at times, a general mental ability test (e.g.: SAT, psychometric exams) to assess candidates’ suitability to their program of study. Such approach, however, ignores personal and interpersonal factors that may facilitate or hinder individuals’ development as both scholars and budding professionals, especially in care-related programs (e.g.: psychology, education, social work, etc.). The recently introduced concept of emotional intelligence holds promise as a framework for our understanding of individuals’ non-cognitive potentials for adaptation and effective performance. This preliminary study examines cognitive ability alongside emotional intelligence as two effective selection criteria for higher education. A sample of 126 College students located in Israel reported their high-school, psychometric exam and College GPA grades and filled out two measures of emotional intelligence: a self-report and an ability test format. The results showed the psychometric exam and the ability EI measures associated significantly with College GPA, while high-school and self-report EI grades did not. The results are briefly discussed to draw preliminary conclusions and elicit future research in this venue.

Pozwala to zauważyć to, co łączy dzieci i zwierzęta w tekstach – ich głos zawsze jest zależny od wyobrażenia tego, kto mówi, od osoby dorosłej.
The article tries to analyze children’s poems by Józef Ratajczak, in which there are animals in a zoo (from author’s poetry volumes Między nami zwierzakami and Wycieczka do zoo). Reading Ratajczak’s chosen works let us notice different ways of describing by the poet both animals and zoo. The article also poses the question of an adult writer who writes for children. The article helps us see what connects children and animals in a variety of literary texts – their voice always depends on imagination of adults.

W badaniu wykorzystano strategię metodologiczną łączącą KAD, perspektywę badań feministycznych oraz elementy analizy konwersacyjnej.
The monograph addresses the issue of discrimination against women in political media discourse. The theoretical framework of the study is based on the concepts of Michel Foucault, Pierre Bourdieu, Erving Goffman, and Anthony Giddens. The main research question is the way in which the professional identities of women politicians are articulated in the gender perspective in the Polish press discourse of selected dailies and weeklies in 2016-2018. The detailed questions formulated in the study are: 1) the discursive mechanisms of constructing the professional identities of women politicians in press interviews, 2) the categorization of topics related to the feminist political agenda, and 3) references to stereotypical gender characteristics and roles in the professional identities of women politicians. In the study, a methodological strategy combining KAD, the perspective of feminist research (FKAD) and elements of conversational analysis was employed. The structure of the work is based on two main parts: theoretical and empirical-analytical. The theoretical part is built around two key issues: the definition of gender and the role of cultural and social determinants of gender in the political discourse, while the empirical-analytical part consists of three chapters. They are methodological, analytical, and summarizing the results of the analysis. The methodological chapter describes the analytical approach adopted in the study. The analytical chapter consists of three parts. The first section describes the mechanisms by which the professional identities of women politicians are constructed in press interviews. The second section is an analysis of the categories into which topics related to feminism are included in press interviews. The purpose of the third section is to analyze how politicians create their professional identifications in the press discourse by referring to stereotypical gender characteristics and roles. The book ends with the chapter in which the conclusions were formulated and the final analysis of the topic in the context of the research questions. An integral part of this work is an appendix which describes the press texts that form the basis of empirical survey.

Rozważania dotyczą zagadnień głównie użytkowania przestrzeni publicznych oraz deformacji historycznego układu urbanistycznego.
The article presents some possibilities for urban transformation of city centre of small, strongly experienced by war damages, West-Pomeranian town of Nowogard. The city, which lost by the II World War, over 700 years old urban structure. The city, that pre-war magnificence of the area around main square was effaced by relentless post-war planning decisions. The pretext of considerations on urban transformation using old potential of Nowogard is urban concept completed in year 2010 by the author, in 3-persons project team. The considerations mainly refer to problems of public spaces and deformation of old historical urban structure.

W kontekście teoretycznym odnosi się do takich zagadnień jak Krytyczny Regionalizm, kontekstualizm, pojęcia placelessness i krytyki dominacji indywidualizmu.
Architecture should not be abstracted from its context. A house is always a part of a larger whole. An architect never designs a building alone, but the entire landscape. By constructing a new build-ing he permanently transforms its surroundings. That is why designers should consciously, with sensitivity and empathy, and sometimes with appropriate firmness and conviction, build a relationship of a new object with the surrounding space, nature and architecture. It is important to understand this relationship as reciprocal and bidirectional in its essence - a new building has a significant im-pact on its surroundings, but its surroundings also significantly influence the way it is shaped. The paper is an attempt to describe such a relationship based on the analysis of the author’s design experience: working for Atelier Zumthor in Switzerland and in his own design studio in Poland. In the theoretical context, it refers to such issues as Critical Regionalism, contextualism, the notion of placelessness and the critique of the domination of individualism.
