    Opis:
    The paper presents the key properties of calcium silicate products modified with basalt aggregate. Silicates are organic products which are widely used in the construction industry. They are used to build partition, structural and even foundation walls. They are characterized by the low level of radioactivity compared to other building materials for walls. Interesting effect may also be seen in the microstructure of these products. Next to the C-S-H phase, other phases emerge in even more structured order Appropriate production technology and modification leads to the formation of tobermorite or xonotlite. It has been noticed that their presence is strictl y related to the durabilit y of silicates.

    Opis:
    Celem pracy jest modyfikacja tradycyjnych wyrobów wapienno-piaskowych dodatkiem pyłu bazaltowego. Do silikatowej masy surowcowej, po procesie gaszenia wapna w masie, wprowadzano modyfikator w postaci pyłu bazaltowego, a następnie uformowano cegły i poddano autoklawizacji. Wpływ zastosowanego dodatku na jakość wyrobów wykonanych z przygotowanej masy oceniano na podstawie analizy porównawczej tradycyjnych wyrobów wapienno-piaskowych i wyrobów modyfikowanych dodatkiem pyłu bazaltowego, przeprowadzonej zgodnie z metodyką zawartą w normach. Zastąpienie na etapie produkcji części tradycyjnej masy silikatowej pyłem bazaltowym wpłynęło korzystnie na przebieg procesów zachodzących w czasie autoklawizacji omawianych wyrobów. Dodatek w warunkach hydrotermalnych reagował z wapnem i krzemionką, tworząc dodatkowe ilości fazy C-S-H oraz tobermorytu. Zastosowanie pyłu bazaltowego w ilości 5-20% w stosunku do masy surowcowej dało poprawę wytrzymałości na ściskanie nawet o 100% w porównaniu z próbkami bez modyfikatora.
    The purpose of the work is to modify traditional lime-sand products with the addition of basalt dust. It is to improve the physical and mechanical parameters of the material. Thanks to this, bricks will have a better price / quality ratio and will be a more interesting solution for potential customers. To the silicate mass of raw material, after the process of extinguishing the lime in the mass, a modifier in the form of basalt dust was added, and then bricks were formed and autoclaved. The effect of the applied additive on the quality of products, made of the prepared mass, was evaluated on the basis of a comparative analysis of traditional lime-sand products and products modified with the addition of basalt dust. The tests were carried out in accordance with the methodology included in the standards. Replacing the part of traditional silicate mass with basalt dust at the production stage had a positive effect on the processes occurring during the autoclaving of the discussed products. The additive under hydrothermal conditions reacted with lime and silica to form additional amounts of the C-S-H phase. The use of basalt dust, in the amount of 5-20% in relation to the mass of raw materials, gave an improvement in compressive strength by up to 100% compared to samples without a modifier.

    Opis:
    Production of sand-lime bricks using the autoclaving method is a well-known process, especially in Europe. During the autoclaving process, also called the hydrothermal treatment or hardening the materials with lime and/or cement binder, a series of microstructural changes occur. Primarily, hydrated silicates of lime are created, which are responsible for physical-mechanical features of aerated materials. The article aims at characterizing the process of brick production using the method of autoclaving and estimation of their microstructural properties.
    Produkcja cegieł wapienno-piaskowych metodą autoklawizacji jest procesem znanym szczególnie w Europie. Podczas autoklawizacji, nazywanej również obróbką hydrotermalną bądź utwardzaniem materiałów o spoiwie wapiennym i/lub cementowym, zachodzi szereg zmian mikrostrukturalnych. Powstają przede wszystkim uwodnione krzemiany wapnia, które są odpowiedzialne za właściwości fizykomechaniczne materiałów autoklawizowanych. Artykuł ma na celu charakterystykę procesu produkcji cegieł metodą autoklawizowanych oraz ocenę charakterystyk mikrostrukturalnych materiałów autoklawizowanych.

    Opis:
    The following article presents the results obtained through the modification of sand-lime matter. The modifying filler is a low-density polyethylene granules (hereinafter referred to as LDPE), formed as a result of the recycling process. The main purpose of the research was to receive a lightweight, recyclable product with physical and mechanical properties similar to above mentioned traditional sand-lime products. The filler has given the desired effect, however the compressive strength of newly created elements has significantly decreased. It is therefore concluded that from the building operation point of view, modified products that contain less than 9% of LDPE filter are relevant. The paper describes the examination methodology and the results in the form of tables and graphs.

    In this article, the main goal of conducted experiments was focused on determination of physical and mechanical features of examined sand-lime building blocks and how they interact with each other. The experiment was conducted using solid sand-lime bricks of 250 x 180 x 220 mm size of the class 15 as well as modified products of the same size but different structure. The investigation covered different kinds of fillers. From the preliminary technical and economical analysis we may state that the best ones are barite, basalt, hematite and magnetite.

    Artykuł przedstawia porównanie popularnych materiałów ściennych za pomocą wielokryterialnej analizy techniczno-ekonomicznej. Przedmiotem analizy były autoklawizowane wyroby wapienno-piaskowe, beton komórkowy oraz ceramika budowlana. Porównania dokonano na podstawie ocen wybranych cech materiałów, takich jak: koszt, wytrzymałość na ściskanie, ekologia, izolacyjność akustyczna oraz akumulacja cieplna.
    The article presents a comparison of popular materials for walls using technical and economic multi-criteria analysis. Autoclaved sand-lime products, aerated concrete and ceramics were analyzed. The comparison was made based on assessments of selected characteristics of the materials, such as: cost, compressive strength, ecology, acoustic insulation and thermal accumulation.
