Opis:
Aim: To assess the diagnostic value of the risk of malignancy indices and simple ultrasound- based rules in preoperative differentiation of adnexal masses. Material and methods: Retrospective examination of 87 patients admitted to hospital due to adnexal tumors. The lesions were evaluated on the basis of international ultrasound classification of ovarian tumors and four risk of malignancy indices were calculated based on ultrasound examination, concentration of CA 125 and menopausal status. Results: The patients were aged between 17 and 79, the mean age was 44.5 (standard deviation SD=16.6). Most of the patients (60.91%) were before their menopause. The sensitivity of the simple ultrasound-based rules in the diagnosis of malignancies equaled 64.71% and the specificity constituted 90.00%. A significant statistical difference in the presence of the malignant process was demonstrated in relation to age, menopausal status, CA 125 concentration and analyzed ultrasound score. All indices were characterized by similar sensitivity and specificity. The highest specificity and predictive value of malignant lesions out of the assessed ones was demonstrated by the risk of malignancy index proposed by Yamamoto. The risk of malignancy index according to Jacobs, however, showed the highest predictive value in the case of non-malignant lesions. Conclusions: The multiparametric ultrasound examination may facilitate the selection of patients with adnexal tumors to provide them with an appropriate treatment – observation, laparotomy and laparoscopy. These parameters constitute a simple ambulatory method of determining the character of adnexal masses before recommending appropriate treatment.
Cel: Ocena przydatności diagnostycznej wskaźników ryzyka obecności nowotworu złośliwego i prostych reguł ultrasonograficznych w przedoperacyjnym różnicowaniu guzów przydatków. Materiał i metody: Retrospektywne badanie 87 pacjentek hospitalizowanych z powodu guza przydatków. Dokonano oceny tych zmian według międzynarodowej ultrasonograficznej klasyfikacji guzów jajnika, a następnie obliczono cztery wskaźniki ryzyka obecności nowotworu złośliwego w oparciu o badanie ultrasonograficzne, stężenie markera CA 125 i status menopauzalny. Wyniki: Wiek pacjentek wahał się od 17 do 79 lat, średnio 44,5 roku (odchylenie standardowe SD=16,6 roku). Większość chorych (60,91%) była przed menopauzą. Czułość metody prostych reguł ultrasonograficznych w rozpoznawaniu zmian złośliwych wyniosła 64,71%, a swoistość 90,00%. Wykazano znaczącą różnicę statystyczną obecności procesu złośliwego pod względem wieku, statusu menopauzalnego, stężenia CA 125 i analizowanych punktów ultrasonograficznych. Wszystkie wskaźniki charakteryzowały się podobną czułością diagnostyczną. Wśród nich najlepszą swoistość i wartość predykcji zmian złośliwych wykazywał wskaźnik ryzyka nowotworu złośliwego wg Yamamoto. Z kolei wskaźnik ryzyka nowotworu złośliwego wg Jacobsa cechował się najwyższą wartością predykcji zmian niezłośliwych. Wnioski: Zastosowanie wieloparametrycznego badania ultrasonograficznego może pomóc wyselekcjonować pacjentki z guzami przydatków do odpowiedniego postępowania – obserwacji, laparotomii, laparoskopii. Parametry te stanowią prostą metodę ambulatoryjnego określenia charakteru guzów przydatków przed skierowaniem pacjentek do właściwego leczenia.

Dopo oltre duae anni di funzionamento pratico del matrimonio concordatario in Polonia, vale le pena fare un’analisi delle norme matrimoniali del Concordato Polacco, a luce di altri accordi concordatari, cercando di tracciare le linee principali dell’evoluzione di questo istituto giuridico. Nel Concordato Polacco ci sono alcune particolaria rispetto ad altri accordi postconciliari, come la formula generica del sanzionamento degli impedimenti matrimoniali esistenti nella legislazione statale (art. 10 comma 1, num. 1), l’autonomia della volontà dei futuri sposi circa le produzione di effetti civili (art. 1 comma 1, num. 2), e l’assenza di un meccanismo automatico di riconoscimento degli effetti civili delle sentenze ecclesiastiche di nullità del matrimonio canonico. Quest’ultima rimane finora una caratteristica unicamente polacca. Anche se in proposito tra gli autori si può trovare un giudizio negativo su tale voluta omissione, questa sembra reggionevole e communque appare una scelta migliore dei generici rinvii alia legislazione civile inseriti negli accordi stipulati dopo il Concordato Polacco.

The article ask questions especially on this dimensions of the biblical traditions about marriage which are result of the historical context of their arise and today they seem hardly to receive. First the article shows basic data about the situation of women and men in the patriarchal socio-cultural context of the Bible. In the next step on the example of the history of Jacob and his family polygamy is presented as an accepted model of the marriage at least in some biblical traditions. In the next past the article analyzes the first three chapters of the Book of Genesis and their anthropological and theological content. In the last part the theological-ecclesiological dimension of the marriage symbolic is presented, related to Christ and Church, especially asking for the pre-assumptions about the role of women and men.
Artykuł zadaje pytania zwłaszcza o te wymiary biblijnego przekazu o małżeństwie, które wynikają z historycznego kontekstu ich powstania i dziś wydają się trudne do przyjęcia. Najpierw ukazuje podstawowe dane o sytuacji kobiet i mężczyzn w patriarchalnym kontekście społeczno-kulturowym Biblii. Następnie na przykładzie historii Jakuba i jego rodziny przedstawiona zostaje poligamia jako przynajmniej w pewnych przekazach biblijnych akceptowalny model małżeństwa. Kolejnym zagadnieniem podjętym w artykule jest antropologiczno-teologiczna analiza pierwszych trzech rozdziałów Księgi Genesis. W ostatniej części artykułu przedstawiony został wymiar teologiczno-eklezjologiczny – symbolika oblubieńcza odnoszona do Chrystusa i Kościoła, zwłaszcza pod kątem występujących w niej założeń co do roli kobiet i mężczyzn.

The paper concerns selected issues related to parliamentary procedures. The primary aim is to investigate a particular category of motions, defined by rules of procedure of the Polish parliament as points of order (literally “formal motions”). In Poland, points of order are recognised as a separate category of motions. They may be submitted only in respect of matters being the subject of the orders of the day or the proceedings in a sitting and include, inter alia, motions to: suspend, postpone or close the sitting; close the discussion; alter the procedure of the discussion; close the list of speakers; limit the time of speeches; confirm a quorum. The authors examine how motions of similar subject scope are regulated in foreign national parliaments.

Bikes are becoming an increasingly popular and reliable mode of transportation in developing countries because of their efficiency and ability to navigate through rough terrain and narrow roadways. Bikes are more vulnerable to road accidents and their riders’ safety is the main concern at present days. Hence, it is essential to reduce the possibility of accidents caused by bike riders. The main reason for bike accidents is bike rider behaviours in the form of traffic rules violations. The paper’s main aim is to categorize the importance of seven attributes on traffic rules violations, including bike rider behaviours, road features, ambient conditions, driving skills, type of license, bike age/tenure and riding without a safety device (helmet). Bike riders’ violations that can lead to an accident and the impact of attributes have been analyzed using the structural equation modelling (SEM) technique. To analyze these attributes, 450 bike riders have been interviewed in Bhubaneswar, India. It has been concluded that bike rider behaviours are the most significant attribute of violations. Since most bike riders are young, with low income and education, paying more attention to their training and education before issuing a driving license is necessary. In addition, those who do not use safety devices (helmets) are more susceptible to committing violations. This relates to the lack of enough control and enforcement in developing cities. Also, it shows that the current traffic fines for not using safety devices (helmets) are not enforced enough. Finally, considering this research’s outcomes can help minimize traffic rules violations among bike riders, which is a step towards safer roads.

Object-relational databases (ORDB) are powerful tools for managing complex data, but they suffer from problems of scalability and managing large-scale data. Therefore, the importance of the migration of ORDB to NoSQL derives from the fact that the large volume of data can be handled in the best way with high scalability and availability. This paper reports a metadata-driven approach for the migration of ORDB to a document-oriented NoSQL database. Our data-migration approach involves three major stages: a pre-processing stage (to extract data and a schema’s components), a processing stage (to provide data transformation), and a post-processing stage (to store migrated data as BSON documents). This approach maintains the benefits of Oracle ORDB in NoSQL MongoDB by supporting integrity constraint checking. To validate our approach, we developed the OR2DOD (object relational to document-oriented database) system, and the experimental results confirm the effectiveness of our proposal.

Nowadays, textual information grows exponentially on the Internet. Text summarization (TS) plays a crucial role in the massive amount of textual content. Manual TS is time-consuming and impractical in some applications with a huge amount of textual information. Automatic text summarization (ATS) is an essential technology to overcome mentioned challenges. Non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) is a useful tool for extracting semantic contents from textual data. Existing NMF approaches only focus on how factorized matrices should be modeled, and neglect the relationships among sentences. These relationships provide better factorization for TS. This paper suggests a novel non-negative matrix factorization for text summarization (NMFTS). The proposed ATS model puts regularizes on pairwise sentences vectors. A new cost function based on the Frobenius norm is designed, and an algorithm is developed to minimize this function by proposing iterative updating rules. The proposed NMFTS extracts semantic content by reducing the size of documents and mapping the same sentences closely together in the latent topic space. Compared with the basic NMF, the convergence time of the proposed method does not grow. The convergence proof of the NMFTS and empirical results on the benchmark data sets show that the suggested updating rules converge fast and achieve superior results compared to other methods.

Opis:
In this paper the control of a binary distillation column is described. This control is done with fuzzy logic, one with PI- like fuzzy controller and the other with modified PI fuzzy controller, using the minimal rules for fuzzy processing. This work is focused on model reduction of Wood and Berry binary distillation column to get the best performance. It is desired to minimize the rules in order to reduce the computation time to make a faster decision. Comparisons will be made between two versions of fuzzy controllers utilizing reduced rules to verify the outputs. The controlled variables are top composition with high concentration and bottom composition with low. To demonstrate the performance of the fuzzy PI control schemes, results are compared with a classical PI controller and optimal methods, like Differential Evolution (DE), Invasive Weed Optimization (IWO). The proposed structure is able to quickly track the parameter variation and perform better in load disturbances and also for set point changes. Then all the processes of the distillation column with itۥ s fuzzy controllers are simulated in MATLAB software as the results are shown.

Designing products is a sequence of decisions. Especially early decisions have great impact on later product life cycle stages. The more complex products become the more information is required in order to support design when making decisions. The present contribution shows for the example of the skill-intensive technology of microsystems, what tools can be applied. First, design processes in microtechnology are presented, which depict the necessity of bringing knowledge from later product life cycle stages to the early ones. For this front loading process design rules as a methodological means of support are proposed. Further on that paper presents two tools that are based on design rules, which support the designer. The first one, wikis, open content management systems represent knowledge from later stages for design engineers. The same design rules on a formal level can be implemented into the second proposed tool, a knowledge-based engineering system.

The aim of this paper is to discuss non-discrimination rules concerning tax matters on the example of Polish case analysis. Author wishes to conduct research work in broader context. In this regard it is necessary to outline the current globalized world in which tax systems of states operate, discuss the concept of state’s tax autonomy and examine how the role of a state on tax matters has recently changed. Subsequently the non-discrimination rules from an international perspective shall be presented. It is also important to answer the question about the impact of those rules on state’s tax autonomy and about the role which they could play in reconciling political goals in the current globalized world. All of this contexts enables to examine non-discrimination rules from Polish perspective. Author introduces all of non-discrimination rules concerning taxation in Polish legal order, accordingly presents and studies Polish case law regarding those rules. Finally, overall conclusions of the research work are introduced which are intended to discuss the role, significance and the future of non-discrimination rules in contemporary globalized world, both from international and Polish perspective.

Zmiany uwarunkowań ekonomicznych, społecznych i organizacyjnych, wywołane przede wszystkim wpływem globalnego kryzysu finansowego i gospodarczego, przyczyniły się do konieczności wprowadzania nowych narzędzi służących utrzymaniu stabilności systemu finansowego. Celem artykułu jest prezentacja strategii i celowości uregulowań wprowadzonych w czasie kryzysu gospodarczego w obszarze polityki fiskalnej, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem implementacji reguł fiskalnych przez wybrane państwa Europy Środkowej i Wschodniej. Autorki zwracają szczególną uwagę na kwestie osiągnięcia stabilności fiskalnej poprzez przestrzeganie przyjętych na poziomie UE ram fiskalnych. Większość państw UE stosuje obecnie system ram fiskalnych opierający się na zespole reguł fiskalnych. Wykorzystanie podstawowego instrumentu, jakim są reguły fiskalne, służyć ma skonstruowaniu i wprowadzeniu rozwiązań prawnych i organizacyjnych, które będą kompromisem pomiędzy poziomem i skalą konsolidacji fiskalnej a poziomem osiągniętego rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego. Osiągnięcie tych celów w okresie spowolnienia gospodarczego, niestabilności rynkowego systemu finansowego i niskiego poziomu rynkowych stóp procentowych nie jest działaniem łatwym i szybkim do osiągnięcia przez władze publiczne. Dlatego obserwujemy rozbieżności pomiędzy poszczególnymi państwami UE w zakresie przyjętych rozwiązań prawno- -organizacyjnych w zakresie stosowanych reguł fiskalnych oraz osiąganych efektów finansowych i ekonomicznych na poziomie krajowym.
Changes in economic, social and organizational conditions, caused and influenced mainly by the global financial and economic crisis have contributed to the need of introducing new tools to maintain the stability of the financial system. Both the market and public financial system require new, often non-standard decisions, actions and instruments in order to use the financial system to secure solid, long-term and sustainable economic growth, both at EU level and at the level of EU countries. The aim of the article is to present the strategy and purpose of the rules introduced during the financial and economic crisis in public finance sector, primarily in the area of fiscal policy, with particular emphasis on fiscal rules and their implementation by the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The authors are putting attention to the issues of achieving fiscal stability through respecting the adopted on EU level the fiscal framework. The majority of EU countries nowadays apply the fiscal framework based on a set of fiscal rules. The usage of the basic instrument what fiscal rules are (developed and respected at the level of individual EU country), is to serve to construct and implement optimal, legal and organizational solutions that will be a compromise between the level and scale of fiscal consolidation and the attained level of socio – economic development. Achieving these objectives during the economic slowdown, market instability of the financial system and the low level of interest rates is not simple and fast to achieve action. That is why we observe discrepancies between EU countries in terms of the legal – organizational solutions in the field of fiscal rules and accordingly to that, achieved the effects. Using the experience of other countries should be the basis to adapt the optimal solutions in Poland.

Celem niniejszej pracy jest przedstawienie zasad dotyczących treningu w warunkach wysokogórskich odnoszące się do planowania programów treningowych. Przegląd literatury pozwala zrozumieć przebieg fizjologicznych zmian zachodzących w czasie górskiej aklimatyzacji, odróżnić reakcje człowieka w fazie ostrej od reakcji w czasie późniejszych okresów adaptacji. Osiągane korzyści przygotowania będące następstwem treningu w górach są następujące: zwiększony transport tlenu do mięśni, udoskonalenie funkcji krwi związanej z transportem tlenu, zwiększenie wydolności tlenowej, wpływającej na wzrost buforowej zdolności mięśni i krwi.
The aim of study is to present rules of training in mountain conditions relating to the planning of training programs. The review of literature allows us to understand the course of physiological changes during acclimatization in mountains and it also helps us to distinguish human responses in acute phase from responses during subsequent processes of adaptation. The benefits of preparation which are results of training in the mountains are as follows: increased transport of oxygen to the muscles, improvement of the blood functions associated with the transport of oxygen, increased aerobic capacity, which affects the growth of buffering ability of muscles and blood.

Opis:
The paper studies terms describing cooks and cooking activities that are preserved in Byzantine literature and draw their origins from the ancient Greek literature as well as from biblical and theological texts. Despite some development regarding the preference to the term opsopoios and opsartytēs without ceasing to use the term mageiros for the male cook, as well as the term demiourgos, only the latter is used for women to signal solely the preparation of pastries. It is proved that the conceptualization and connotations of the term mageiros, which are presented in detail, prevented its attribution to women. Further proof on the use of feminised masculine nouns for female professions or occupations in literature and the more concrete evidence on the services recorded in the typika of nunneries display the absolute abiding of the conscious avoidance of the term for women’s involvement in cooking.

This contribution examines some of the consequences of the UK’s exit from the European Union for the enforcement of the competition rules. It reflects on the impact that Brexit is going to have on future transnational antitrust litigation in Britain and Europe. Thereafter it analyses the challenges that Brexit is likely to present for cooperation in public competition enforcement and suggests solutions for future development.
Cet article examine les certaines conséquences de la sortie du Royaume-Uni de l’Union européenne sur l’application des règles de concurrence. Il se penche sur l’impact que Brexit va avoir sur les futurs litiges transnationaux en matière d’antitrust en Grande-Bretagne et en Europe. Puis, il analyse les défis que Brexit est susceptible de présenter pour la coopération dans l’application de la coopération publique et suggère des solutions pour le futur développement
